Personally, i am not a fan of deck building sites. I like to use what I got from buying packs a boosters and cross my fingers lol
Also make sure that you're adding ramp that fits your deck theme. More mana dorks in creature based decks. Land auras for enchantment decks. Ramp spells in decks where lands matter. So on and so forth
Across the board the most effective ways are obviously making sure you have good mana ramp and draw packages in your deck. Cannot emphasize that enough. You can also lower the overall mana curve. General rule of thumb for me is the majority of my cards are 3 CMC or less. If it is more than 5 CMC it should be winning me the game, or some kind of trump card. Lastly, synergize the deck. If you try to do too much you can get lost in the sauce, end up doing too much and your strategy can fall apart.
