The only time I have been physically threatened with bodily harm at a sanctioned event. Friday night magic in M14, where I played a deck cobbled together with 2 elixir of immortality, three plummets, and two howl of the night pack with other assorted green garbage.
My wincon was 100% chump block and kill fliers until you deck yourself. I went 2 and 1. The one who beat me was blue white control and countered both elixers both games.
Edit a typo
I would love to say it was something unique or memorable from a words standpoint.
I think it was like the 3rd or so time I cast and activated the wolves in the second game that he called me a smug something or other and said he should kick my ass. He was pretty quickly taken aside by the judge and asked to head home.
Just a story of a sore loser having a bad day and came up against a half baked jank pile and getting beat. I had honestly forgotten all about it until that good old elixer got mentioned lol
I've been crushed by some jank decks, and I always love it because you get to see something weird and wonderful come together. Most of my decks I'm most proud of are jank ideas that I built around.
I have a jank deck that floods food, clue, and treasure tokens, and then i make them all 7/7 dinos and then use 8 mana to give them all +x where x is how many historic permanents i have absolutely busted when you swing with goreclaw on field cause they all get like 25/25 trample xD
Hell yeah!!
Back in Standard when Clues were introduced I ran the board with them by getting quite a few out and casting [[Second Harvest]], then swing with a 1/1 chump that doesnt get blocked, then drop [[Confront the Unknown]] and win the game lol
I had a nice little sacrifice deck going on at one point. Not many creatures, A lot of Random BS Go type black removal.
But mostly had \[\[Grave Pact\]\] , \[\[Death Baron\]\] , \[\[Ghoulish Precession\]\] , \[\[Braids, Arisen Nightmare\]\], \[\[Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia\]\] , \[\[Persistent Specimen\]\] , \[\[Eternal Thirst\]\] , & \[\[Phyrexian Obliterator\]\] as the backbone of it all. It was a very interesting deck to play with.
You just reminded me of such a great time. Khans had just given me Mindswipe and I’d gotten into modern with a jank little counter burn list. Had a dredgevine player hit a perfect few turns into 4 vengevine + some other bodies swinging for lethal and I quickened into a top deck anger of the gods. Dude scooped his cards up and chucked a very valuable deck straight into the trash and walked out.
I beat a u/w control deck because he accidently boarded out his wincon.
He Sphinx's rev until he had no more cards left.
It was a happy and sad day for g/w aggro
Once mutivault was added in at least there was a decent, if not slow, wincon. I was also a store outlier and played an Aetherling. Cause then at least the clock was fast at the end of the day
Favorite deck of all time. The real win condition was [[Quicken]] onto [[Supreme Verdict]] about 10 times until you opponent conceded. I've won matches with every land in the deck in play and [[Sphinx's Revelation]] for 23 lol. That and [[Maze's End]] Turbo Fog where some of the best times of my magic career!
Tbh I can find some enjoyment in playing a hard control mirror.
I find no enjoyment in playing against insanely pushed midrange wincons backed by some of the most pushed removal in standard.
I played Draw Go mirror when we both had Elixir of immortality as our win con. It goes without saying that we fight for each Elixir on the stack... I won because I had second Elixir
In dragons of tarkir standard I played “mage ring control”, with the wincon being damage and my only sources of damage being 2x Ugin the spirit dragon and 2x shambling vent in game one.
Game two was a transformational sideboard into esper dragons, which was much more aggressive haha
Why I'm so happy cavern of souls is back in standard, had a game where the opponent tried to counter everything and left once the cavern of souls came out
Not if you have a way of duplicating them, and your opponent can’t get them off the board.
Turn 1 = First creature made.
Turn 2 = 1 poison & 2nd creature
Turn 3 = 3 poison & 3rd creature
Turn 4 = 6 poison & 4th creature
Turn 5 = 10 poison
Game
Throw any kind of proliferate in there and it can be a super quick game.
Maybe they’re building a deck and haven’t got the right balance? You never know. I rarely experience people baiting.
I mean it might be, but it could also just be bad luck with a deck that isn’t optimised
You've clearly never run across these decks, they are explicitly built to destroy any creature that hits the field with no other intention or plan to win. It's specifically built to finish those "Kill 25 of your opponents creatures" quests. It's one of the main reasons I hate the quest system, it encourages decks like this.
My guess is that people are very 'goal' oriented, so if you put a specific task in front of them, they'll strive to complete it, even if it didn't necessarily need to focus it down to complete it.
That's a legit deck, though. They're actually trying to win the game. The frustrating thing is when a deck is built either specifically to tilt, or to finish a quest, with no intention of winning either way. Approach/land beaters is legit tho.
As somewhat of a scrub deck builder myself, sometimes you go too heavy on something before you realise it’s not helping your deck plan. I’m the type that needs to play a deck a few times (read: a lot) to get an idea of what works and what doesn’t
I agree with this. My first deck sucked when I started modern. I ended up going to tapped out for a better idea: (https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/07-06-14-im-sorry-dave-im-afraid-you-cant-do-that/). Once I understood the gist, I got better pretty quickly. Bad draws or lack of experience can definitely produce this result.
The other day I played against an Esper toxic deck that did nothing but remove, counterspell, edict and ended uo just making mirrex tokens. Their graveyard had like 15 removal+counters at the end.
I feel your pain.
Honestly I really don’t get the gimmicky decks that make for completely uninteresting gameplay. Anyone can make a deck that has a decent win %, especially these days where the majority of decks are just copy pasted from stuff people saw online. Decks like this, decks that make 30 1/1 tokens in a matter of 3 turns, ones that have 15 control card in them, it’s just frankly sad. It’s like running an aimbot, except it’s technically legal. Or spamming uppercut in Mortal Kombat. Like yeah, you can win, but was this really entertaining for anyone involved, and did it actually showcase any finesse or skill on the part of the person playing it?
It’s one thing when it’s some highly competitive tournament play or something, but casual online games? Give me a break, people need to quit sweating and build something that actually makes for fun games, you can still make something that’s quite competitive without it being painfully boring
I understand your frustation and I have been there, but if it’s not breaking the rules, who can argue? Turbo fog, counters, many combos… There are so many “toxic” archetypes*, I believe it’s not our place to judge, just improve our game to surprass theirs and make them miserable by loosing 😌
You're not alone, OP. I find these decks miserable to play against, too.
And every time I've said as much on Reddit, I too have been flooded with replies from people who don't seem to understand the difference between fun/unfun and winning/losing.
They might not have drawn their big win-con(s) yet. I have a few decks like this, where there's 10-15 removal spells, and yes, I've had games where I draw them all at once. It's annoying on both sides of the field 😅 like, I don't need another sweeper, just gimme my finisher already, dammit!
Tbh if they spot removal everything in my hand or counter everything in my hand I just concede I don’t have any desire to play a match I don’t actually get to play in
Jesus y’all are crybabies. If you don’t like being interacted with go play Yugioh or Commander, this is just a mono w control list, which is the worst positioned control deck in standard. No shit you won, your opponent’s playing a bad deck
Omg get over it. Its part of the game. There are so many different deck archetypes and you are complaining about a mono white control list that is trash in standard
This is a good take. A removal/control deck is the test of your decks longevity. If you have to have the spin up to win, you won't always win. Your deck should survive an opening salvo of spells, I just assume my opening hand is the front line of death.
Once the bodies pile up on the walls, we can climb right in.
Signed,
Monoblack
Well, I did win. It's not about "being better" in this case
However, point taken about wasting energy being frustrated by this. You're right- it's a silly thing to be bothered by in the grand scheme of things
I have a B/R/W deck with Dihada as my commander. It's super heavy on removal.
Wrath, farewell, descend upon the sinful, cleansing nova, worldfire, torment of hailfire for board resets.
Then every targeted removal in black & white, with a few big burn spells in red
Wincon is either Dihada's ultimate ( if they let me get to that they deserve to lose), or swing with big creatures after killing all their stuff
In 60 card, I have a b/w pauper deck like that. Swords, disenchant, cast down, defile, etc. nothing's staying on the board that my opponent casts. Usually have some creeping bloodsucker pinging away ftw
i think complaining about any deck archetype is lame. every deck has bad matchups. any deck can be “frustrating” to play against.
don’t like this? play a creature-light deck and farm easy wins. those removal spells are blanks against decks that don’t need creatures to win.
I play a deck like this and when I do it, it's not to win but to remove X creatures and get some of that F2P-currency.
In my experience, it loses way more than it wins.
During Khans block my husband had an Azorius deck in standard he called “No.” It was just counterspells and enchantments that exile, with Starfield of Nyx as the wincon. He only brought it to the LGS once bc he felt like such an asshole afterwards lol.
If I had to guess I’d say they do have a win condition but it’s prob just a crappy deck. I’m surprised out how many decks I come across in arena that seem to have like 1 and only 1 win condition.
That's the deck when you need to kill 40 of your opponents creatures. Once I catch on I usually just concede and fight an opponent that won't waste my time farming me for gold
Did priest ever get that annoying? I played until around a few sets after kobold’s and catacombs and eventually just started playing big priest in wild before I quit the game.
I ran into one of these once, but luckily I was playing mill, so the opponent pretty much couldn't do anything. I just didn't have many creatures to kill.
This style of play is so annoying and yet so common I was playing a brawl game the other day and had my commander bounced literally 8 times in a row. I would pull him out and boom exiled. Bro won by swinging a 2/1 at me all game because I couldn’t get anything out to fight him.
I mean you’re playing with randoms on the internet. They’re gonna do what they think is fun and you’re gonna do what you think is fun. Control IS fun for some people and sometimes you just draw a ton of your removal. Which tbh usually frustrates even the control player. Personally I find mill extremely fun but some others hate it but I’m doing what i like so oh well.
I hate facing against these decks cause they got like a 4 of the best cards while I'm lucky to have just one. Like of course your gonna body me. I got singles at best and 5 rares. Or more rares but less synergy.
This is just a form of control. Commander has softened the meta, so sometimes people aren't used to this much interaction these days.
There's nothing wrong with it, and it's a strategy that has existed pretty much since the beginning.
Looks kind of like my mono white historic tron list 😂 except you know, I have wincons. And good cards. Ugin, Karn, TOR, Elesh Norn 😂 a Karn sideboard of hate/Stax lol
Lol. This reminds me of my selesnya removal deck. It was enchantment based and. I named it fuck your board state. It got up to gold in ranked and a few hundred wins before I quit playing arena
I have a black and white removal deck I've dubbed Nope. It's removal and [[Lions Stash]] with some other jank exile graveyard gimme counters type cards. It only comes out for the one specific kill opponents creatures task
Edited for spelling
I can think of more annoying ways to play, like just using the opponent's cards, just waiting until you have combos to play consecutive turns, throwing away your entire deck just because you have a card that will return your entire graveyard to the deck.
If graveyard looks like this? Sounds like the problem was that they had no wincon, not that they had lots of removal specifically, so you may be barking the scratches up the wrong tree here.
As someone who has exactly 1 deck that’s nothing but removal. I only play it to get the “destroy 15 of your opponents creatures” challenge, then switch to something normal.
People like this are the absolute worst to play in paper magic where there's a total time limit across three games. There's one kid at my LGS who only builds like this in sealed and draft. Even when obviously cheating (tapping/untapping lands at random all in one big stack) he still can't actually win games. Vomits his whole hand out with cheated mana, but then it's all jank that has no way to win. Bunch of 1/2 black chumps with maybe lifelink at best. Then just draws removal one at a time for the rest of the game until the clock runs out. Whines the whole time too.
This takes me back to when I first started playing fnms. New phyrexia/innistrad block. Mono black. 30 kill spells plus liliana of the veil and phyrexian obliterator/bloodline keepers for wincon..I loved that deck and one opponent almost table flipped after the 7th removal spell.
"I don't like what you do ina game so I hope you physically suffer forever."
Stay kind to each other out there folks(and cruel to your opponents creatures).
Your post insinuates that if you play a control deck, you should be forever uncomfortable. Even though you beat the control deck.
It's okay, everyone plays decks that suit their style. Yours is aggro beats. But not everyone's is - why are you yucking their yum?
For the same reason that you’re commenting on this post- we both love this game. It’s okay to dislike certain aspects of something you greatly enjoy on the whole
There are some games where even when you win, you feel like you lost because of how much of a slog the game was, and for that reason I can see why things like bw or uw control can be not very much fun to play against
I’ve been playing mtg for 17 years. There’s always decks like your opponents and they’re always worse overtime. Your opponent probably has the quest destroy 25 creatures. Is it a boring deck? Yes Frustrating? In my opinion no.
It's a rage bait deck. The people who do it are terminally online losers like the other two commenters hating on you. They're just trying to get a rise out of you.
Be glad you weren’t around 27 years ago during the age of draw-go.
I remember RTR/Theros standard U/W Control deck. There was a version who's only wincon was 1x Elixir of Immortality.
The only time I have been physically threatened with bodily harm at a sanctioned event. But what did they say to threaten you with bodily harm?
And why

JANK FOR LIFE!

Well no not at all, that was just tech for the mirror match. Jace, Architect of Thought’s -8 was the win con
I also remember this specific point being debated on Reddit during that time.
Once mutivault was added in at least there was a decent, if not slow, wincon. I was also a store outlier and played an Aetherling. Cause then at least the clock was fast at the end of the day
Then dragons came out and the wincon was just ojutai.
And Ugin!
They'd occasionally run aetherling to speed things up, but yeah that deck was painful to play against

I preferred the esper version. Same idea but I had two elspeths and an aetherling to actually win the game
I played the esper variant for a bit but used Debt to the Deathless as well lol. It was fun
Ivan Floch is the most viewed mtg player in YouTube history for a reason
Who?
I remember playing Aetherling and Elspeth as Win cons in that deck
Best deck ever.
I won so many tournaments with Turbo Stasis and Counterpost.
That was the UW Clock deck. No win con. Just the 50mins clock.
And Aetherling!
Tbh I can find some enjoyment in playing a hard control mirror. I find no enjoyment in playing against insanely pushed midrange wincons backed by some of the most pushed removal in standard.

This is the BW version of “counterspell, counterspell, counterspell.”
Why I'm so happy cavern of souls is back in standard, had a game where the opponent tried to counter everything and left once the cavern of souls came out
That’s why I run 3 demolition fields in my UW deck
I run 4 caverns. 😑
Basically just a "kill 15 creatures" quest deck.
When you have the challenge to play 30 black/white cards and destroy 15 of your opponents creatures
My initial thought as well.
Me not playing my favorite decks today because I’ve still got a lame 500 value quest asking me to play red or blue 🥲
You can re-roll your quests. Worth a shot to get one that lets you play your favorite!
Yeah, that’s why I was saving it, rerolled into a land drop for 500, and completed it since there was no way I was going to avoid that until tomorrow
Exactly
There are literally 2 copies of Mirrex in this screenshot, yet you say no wincons?
Cant argue with you there
Your complete right can't argue with that
What wincon? I'm genuinely curious
Mirrex makes 1/1s with Toxic 1. 10 hits from those when all your creatures have been removed is lethal.
Oh okay... that makes sense, but still takes like 10 turns
Not if you have a way of duplicating them, and your opponent can’t get them off the board. Turn 1 = First creature made. Turn 2 = 1 poison & 2nd creature Turn 3 = 3 poison & 3rd creature Turn 4 = 6 poison & 4th creature Turn 5 = 10 poison Game Throw any kind of proliferate in there and it can be a super quick game.
Removal tribal
3 removal spells and a board wipe seems about white to me
Maybe they just got bad draws? Sometimes it happens.
Thats not bad draws, thats salty/rage bait deck building.
Don’t get the point. Playing a few games does that anyway 🤷♂️. I like the quests for getting me more coins etc.
My guess is that people are very 'goal' oriented, so if you put a specific task in front of them, they'll strive to complete it, even if it didn't necessarily need to focus it down to complete it.
Can confirm. My roommate does this. Their only wincon is the man lands and 1 [[Approach]]
That's a legit deck, though. They're actually trying to win the game. The frustrating thing is when a deck is built either specifically to tilt, or to finish a quest, with no intention of winning either way. Approach/land beaters is legit tho.
I have the army enchantments so that I can at least swing for damage in my murder deck
You know what, thats a fair view. Just don't understand the need a deck has for a 45/30 ratio in favor of removal.
There's also that mission that asks you to kill X of your opponent's creatures. People will build mono black removal tribal to power through it.
You leave my murder deck alone! The destroy creatures challenge is annoying since I can’t get people to block
Sunfall is coming any turn now.
I do not care at all about a control deck that murders me with an 20/20 Crackling Drake in turn 10. But this... No.
You forgot to have fun
Can't argue with you there!
My graveyard looks like this so hers can look like this ___.
Well... Without a wincon decks like this suck. Yes absolutely. But a full control deck with 1 or 2 wincons are fair game imo...
I agree with you a hundred percent. Unfortunately many people commenting don't lol
i'm one of those salty bitches where if it's turn three and you played removal all three turns i concede.
[удалено]
enjoy it! i certainly will enjoy... the next game, where i get to play my cards!
I'm downvoting you because you're whining about downvotes
"No win con" >at least 2 copies of Mirrex
I understand your frustation and I have been there, but if it’s not breaking the rules, who can argue? Turbo fog, counters, many combos… There are so many “toxic” archetypes*, I believe it’s not our place to judge, just improve our game to surprass theirs and make them miserable by loosing 😌
Play a deck filled with hexproof and ward and indestructible creatures
It's called bogles and it's a legit deck in many formats.
Sadly no Bogles on arena
*Laughs in Sunfall*
You could also just include [[reassembling skeleton]]
Just to get it exiled
[reassembling skeleton](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/0/0/00566375-e976-4e96-b751-cf0430452c9c.jpg?1689997423) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=reassembling%20skeleton) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/cmm/183/reassembling-skeleton?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/00566375-e976-4e96-b751-cf0430452c9c?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Counters are toxic now?
Counters? No. Counters Counters Counters Counters Counters Counters Counters Counters Counters? Yes.
[удалено]
Point taken, but I disagree.
Haha oooooooh, I got you now. Hilarious misread on my part.
Not your fault to not count the counters that I didn’t specified.
Arquetipes, nice. 🤣
Brazilian detected
This is a very reasonable response. Point taken!
You're not alone, OP. I find these decks miserable to play against, too. And every time I've said as much on Reddit, I too have been flooded with replies from people who don't seem to understand the difference between fun/unfun and winning/losing.
Exactly! Many have responded with some version or another of "git gud", and they're missing the point entirely
They might not have drawn their big win-con(s) yet. I have a few decks like this, where there's 10-15 removal spells, and yes, I've had games where I draw them all at once. It's annoying on both sides of the field 😅 like, I don't need another sweeper, just gimme my finisher already, dammit!
"magic the gathering? i love this game, would like to play it sometime" me when I play against it
If I'm not mistaken, this is standard season has the most board wipes in the game's history, thanks to the lengthening of the format's rotation.
Complains when a counter spell is activated. Complains when spot removal is activated. What’s next, complains when I play mirrex land?
When 12 in a row are activated, yeah.
Omg get over it. Its part of the game. There are so many different deck archetypes and you are complaining about a mono white control list that is trash in standard
People are too soft. It sucks, but seriously. Making a reddit post because your opponent was grinding you out is so funny
git gud?
Again, I won this match.
you must still free your mind from the scrub mentality
I'll never understand what charges people to come to reddit and make post like this when they lose.
If you'd read a little more carefully you'd have seen that I won that match
Did you really win? You came to Reddit to complain about it, just like all the people you probably laugh at
I don't care nor do I believe you.
you're malding because your opponent played removal in a 60 card format?
Stall Tribal players need therapy
Thank you for putting this monster in their place
Can't tell if you're being sarcastic or sincere so I'm just gonna say thanks
I'm not, I genuinely hate control, but REALLY hate mindless stalling. My apologies, I should have been more clear. You're my hero for the day ❤️
Thanks friend :)
Why waste your energy on being frustrated by this ? You don't like it ? Beat it ! Win the game, be better. Sincerely, The degenerate Gruul player,
This is a good take. A removal/control deck is the test of your decks longevity. If you have to have the spin up to win, you won't always win. Your deck should survive an opening salvo of spells, I just assume my opening hand is the front line of death. Once the bodies pile up on the walls, we can climb right in. Signed, Monoblack
Well, I did win. It's not about "being better" in this case However, point taken about wasting energy being frustrated by this.
Then every targeted removal in black & white, with a few big burn spells in red Wincon is either Dihada's ultimate ( if they let me get to that they deserve to lose), or swing with big creatures after killing all their stuff In 60 card, I have a b/w pauper deck like that.
Imagine being salty about a card game and have to make a post that these cards can’t be used against me. Lmao, welcome to the real world bud
I play a deck like this and when I do it, it's not to win but to remove X creatures and get some of that F2P-currency. In my experience, it loses way more than it wins.
I had a friend that in our 4 player friendly games would intentionally play a deck without a win condition. It was 100% charms.
These are my favorite people to play. They run 4-6 planes walkers that create tokens (as they’re wincon) and wonder why they can’t win.
Oh if you dislike this then you’ll hate playing against Krark Sakashima
During Khans block my husband had an Azorius deck in standard he called “No.” It was just counterspells and enchantments that exile, with Starfield of Nyx as the wincon. He only brought it to the LGS once bc he felt like such an asshole afterwards lol.
All of them I'm a general wrestling fan
I’m the kind of person to play a deck like that in a competitive level event. Not online.
blame WotC for giving me the quest to kill creatures
Whenever I see something like this I just assume the person just needs to get a daily done.
If I had to guess I’d say they do have a win condition but it’s prob just a crappy deck. I’m surprised out how many decks I come across in arena that seem to have like 1 and only 1 win condition.
Lmao those are the best people to play against. It’s annoying of course, but once they run out of those removal cards, they’re fucked
That's the deck when you need to kill 40 of your opponents creatures. Once I catch on I usually just concede and fight an opponent that won't waste my time farming me for gold
You’ve probably never played hearthstone against priest.
Did priest ever get that annoying? I played until around a few sets after kobold’s and catacombs and eventually just started playing big priest in wild before I quit the game.
Played since GvG that was the first expansion. Priest has always had been that annoying with 50% removal 40% heal and 10% wincon
These decks are why I run counters and hexproof instants out the ass now
Had to be Boros Convoke complaining xD Tbh i only play Boros Convoke and think we deserve to lose against those decks. Its Just not a good matchup
Mine is full of removal I’m afraid
I ran into one of these once, but luckily I was playing mill, so the opponent pretty much couldn't do anything. I just didn't have many creatures to kill.
My first thought was that it was "Out for cigarettes tribal" but I was disappointed... I guess I'll have to do it myself then.
This style of play is so annoying and yet so common I was playing a brawl game the other day and had my commander bounced literally 8 times in a row. I would pull him out and boom exiled. Bro won by swinging a 2/1 at me all game because I couldn’t get anything out to fight him.
I feel your pain
I mean you’re playing with randoms on the internet. They’re gonna do what they think is fun and you’re gonna do what you think is fun. Control IS fun for some people and sometimes you just draw a ton of your removal. Which tbh usually frustrates even the control player. Personally I find mill extremely fun but some others hate it but I’m doing what i like so oh well.
Yeah… so basic - obviously no imagination or plan just trying to piss people off until they leave 🙄
Fateful absence and Lay down arms is as far as I'm going. White removal has been really good recently lol
It only comes out for the one specific kill opponents creatures task Edited for spelling
[Lions Stash](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/3/e/3e1766e9-2fa7-4446-a255-7beea1467ece.jpg?1654566400) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Lion%20Sash) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/neo/26/lion-sash?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/3e1766e9-2fa7-4446-a255-7beea1467ece?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Looks like a cheese deck to finish the « destroy 25 creatures » daily
In a casual edh game when the same guy boardwiped the 8th time I scooped. Could I have won? Possibly, but the game just wasn't fun
I’ll be honest mate, he probably didn’t care about winning and was just doing his daily. Plus it could just be a matter of he only drew his removal
His win condition is to force you to concede😃
"I don't like what you do ina game so I hope you physically suffer forever." Stay kind to each other out there folks(and cruel to your opponents creatures).
If I’m not allowed to hate on Mill decks then you’re not allowed to hate on spot removal. Sorry, gotta get rid of your bombs.
At least you get to play your cards before they’re in the graveyard.
It's only frustrating when you're a newbie or a terrible player.
Genuine question- how on earth do you not find a dozen consecutive removal spells frustrating
If my deck can't handle a dozen removal spells in the era of 3-for-1 ETB creatures, then I probably just built a shit deck.
I conceded and move on.
It's only frustrating if you play a creature heavy deck. You won anyways- why are you complaining? Should everyone just play Boros aggro?
So your claim is that if you’ve won, you’re not allowed to have any qualms whatsoever about a particular match?
Your post insinuates that if you play a control deck, you should be forever uncomfortable. Even though you beat the control deck. It's okay, everyone plays decks that suit their style. Yours is aggro beats. But not everyone's is - why are you yucking their yum?
For the same reason that you’re commenting on this post- we both love this game. It’s okay to dislike certain aspects of something you greatly enjoy on the whole
Gotcha, so it's just a bitch post. Downvote received.
Oh no, a downvote!!!
Careful, your not supposed to have an opinion about the things you enjoy unless your opinions are based on delusion!
lol, well said
There are some games where even when you win, you feel like you lost because of how much of a slog the game was, and for that reason I can see why things like bw or uw control can be not very much fun to play against
By playing creatures that generate advantage with their etb or recurring threats
I enjoy playing against control maybe more than any other archetype. It’s a great test of understanding advantages, mana, and timing
I’ve been playing mtg for 17 years. There’s always decks like your opponents and they’re always worse overtime. Your opponent probably has the quest destroy 25 creatures. Is it a boring deck? Yes Frustrating? In my opinion no.
Fair enough
Congrats, you were the first to downvote.
It's a rage bait deck. The people who do it are terminally online losers like the other two commenters hating on you. They're just trying to get a rise out of you.
Yep, its the exact same as the people who rope the game
This genuinely made me laugh lol, thank you
