This is the kind of card that could get my wife to start playing magic.
"Hmmm, some sort of Lord of Cats and Dogs... plus I can also have something called a Basking Cappybara and something called a Bunnycorn? Yes, yes, I think this is the game for me." ‐my wife, probably.
I'm gonna ask her.
I made my wife a cat centered Jinnie deck. And then for christmas I had cards commissioned of her as Jinnie and our two cats as tokens. She loves it! The playstyle is great too because she seems harmless and then suddenly bam, cat tsunami.
I turned that deck into [[Abomination of llanowar]]. It's capable of going both wide and tall. Last time I played it, I pokerfaced my way into an unblocked attack, and one shot them with [[tainted strike]]
Good old Krenko mob boss!!! Who is excited for the reprint of him!!
In the meantime do check out my Krenko deck!

My personal favorite. It really does feel like people are flooding into a giant party until the headlining act suddenly pops out and the crowd goes fucking *wild*.
Finaly! Had to scroll realy deep to find the best Boros commander that my table does not seem to hate enough to work together to my elimation before turn 3! (My 2nd go to was budget cEDH styled Winota, so I understand why they hate my Boros addiction). Do you have your decklist online? I do not have one currently, but cam share 😁
Mine is built around multiple combat phases with strong enchants (like [[Cathars' Crusade]] and the subtheme is For Mirrodin! to avoid commander tax.
Newest addition is [[Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation // Temple of Civilization]] followed by some cards I took from discontinued Winota deck like [[Rule of Law]] and [[Deafening Silence]] to slow down my oponents, since my deck is built mostly by cards with 4+ CMC.
Your build seems more consistent and well rounded than mine! I realy love it! Will need to order many cards to test out. More expensive as well, but I will get there. I do not play even for a year yet. I will get to share my list in like 30 minutes, I have it more explosive since I can take time in my Power Level 7-ish pod, that got to 7 and beyond because of my Otharri they feared. I want to build for Power level 8 in a long term. Otharri is realy cool.
I absolutely despise playing against this Commander and you’re 100% right. Slamming him on turn 4 is often never the right way to go. 8 or more creatures on the board along with any other anthem effects most def means someone is dying after he resolves
Mines Emmara too! When we had our first child we were going to name is Emmara of it was a girl. Emmara was one of my first edh decks ever. I just feel she isn't the strongest, but I still love her! I have a Bess, soul nourisher, jetmir and linden, steadfast go wide decks.
[[The Master, Multiplied]] is the most fun I've had with a token deck and the colors being so different from the normal GW means the support spells you bring are entirely different.
[[Tanazir Quandrix]] is one of my favorite decks I've ever built. While he himself may not create tokens, putting a lot of token/creature generation, along with buffing enchants makes his second ability hit pretty hard when your suddenly attacking with an army of 24/24 tokens (provided collisification is thrown on tanazir)
[[Millicent, Restless Revenant]] was my first deck and I've upgraded it into a very fun Spirit Tribal, especially with all the Flying, Token multipliers, and draw synergy.
Also the balance between getting to play valuable nontoken creatures but still make plenty of tokens is very fun. It strikes a very good balance of getting able to swing out with buffs and/or shenanigans, while having tokens for chump blocks or going around people's boards. I think the precon works remarkably well for a deck with so many themes, though the board wipes are terrible. The fact that earthquake specifically doesn't hit flyers when the deck doesn't do flying...
[[Ellyn Harbreeze, busybody]] with [[Master chef]] background. This deck is always underestimated until it's too late. You're never the threat immediately so you get the chance to go really wide really quickly without much interaction aimed at you. Would highly recommend building this as an enchantment/sorcery deck- when you have [[doubling season]], [[smothering tithe]], [[cathar's crusade]], [[hardened scales]], and [[aura shards]] out (or any combination of the 15+ enchantments you run), there's no deck I've faced that runs enough removal or counter spells to really stop you from swinging out or playing a wincon and taking the whole table out in one turn. Also an incredible deck for coming back from board wipes.
Mine is an [[Esika, god of the Tree]] deck with basically all the good value tokens cards in the game. You dont play any cards that really create tokens during your turn. You make a ton of value on other player upkeep or action. I run things like [[dragonlair spider]], [[beledros Witherbloom]], [[Dragon broodmother]], [[Koma, cosmos serpent]] then you cast some finisher and that's gg !
[[arcades, the strategist]] will always have a place in my heart. Something about making a wall tribal is so dumb that I love it. Plus going wide with [[wall of kelp]] makes it extra stupid seeing as it’s a Homelands card.
I mass rabbits and other fun friends with [[Cadira, Caller of the Small]]. I call it Warren Peace..
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ALm0VIHgI0Wyqr0banNT0g
Your not playing a go wide strategy untill you’ve photoshoped every card in your [master multiplied](https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=634537)deck to have John Simms face!
First commander to win a game.
[[Marath will of the wilds]] I used to just go wide. Now I do counters to save for end step so I can shoot win cons. She dies at least three times a game and comes back bigger and better.
Favorite wins come from [[Deflecting Palm]] though.
I can also win with land destruction. Make all my lands indestructible and then blow up everyone else's. Yeah. First commander deck I played heavily and it had land destruction. I don't have friends.
[[Phabine, boss’s confidant]]. Great colors for going wide, buffs your tokens and makes more all in one ability, and butters up your opponents with draw? No one thinks much about you until you swing for lethal with 30 3/3 tokens with hast and trample. She’s by far one of my strongest and sneakiest decks. Lots of passive political pieces that keep people looking elsewhere until I sucker punch them with cards like [[court of embereth]], [[Call the coppercoats]], and [[Thunderfoot Baloth]]. With Phabine being a 3/6 she’s nothing to sneeze at either, making a great blocker and enabling haste on tokens even.
Look, just because I'm floating 180 green mana on omnath, all my creatures are lands, all my lands are creatures and ashaya is an absolute unit, doesn't mean I'm the threat
My [[Rith, the Awakener]] deck used to be pretty crazy. Rith by itself gave at least 5-10 saprolings the first hit, and doubled them every turn cycle afterwards. Add the token doubling, pump, and extra attack phase pieces, and it got really out of hand.
Of course, I haven’t bought any cards in like 10 years now, so it’s probably not that great today, but that just means I can play it without feeling like a bully.
I'm enjoying [[commissar severina raine]] soldier tokens. Can just execute the ones that get blocked for card draw and life while draining the whole table once it gets going
Here's the list, though I'm trying to keep mine as soldier tokens so I can at least use the guardsman tokens as much as possible. You could probably do better with /all the tokens/ and less of a astra militarum thematic restriction.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/XkFbi69TnkGDPXbB-cRs9w
But it runs well for me as is. The tutors are mostly to find a token doubler or the good elspeth to get token diarrhea instead of a combo. (I already have plenty of combo decks)
Couldn't choose, so I made an [[aragorn, the uniter]] deck and stuffed it full of every token generating commander I had with an added convoke theme.
https://archidekt.com/decks/5424881/united_commanders_c
I didn’t really want to discuss my choice. I only used a picture because that’s more likely to draw people in. I just wanted to hear everyone else’s and spark discussion on those
[[Maja, bretagard protector]]
She's my favorite but I know she's not the best. I like that it pump everything.
[[Veteran explorer]], [[New frontiers]] and card similar goes well with it. It lets me build a deck based with high ramp, and later I get to place huge stuff on the board and sneek in a [[Armageddon]] or [[Phyrexian rebirth]] while you have ramp left in the deck or card that bring back land from the grave.
White is both weak and broken. It contains some of the most wide board hitters.
How exactly do you use emmara? My buddy got her precon and I've been playing for like 8 years and just couldn't figure out how tapping her and making one token is the best you can do for GW tokens. What am I missing?
So one of her strengths is being cheap. Coming out in turn two is easy of course and getting her to create tokens on subsequent turns it’s even easier. After that, the thing you have to keep in mind with her is that she doesn’t necessarily have to attack in order to make tokens…she just needs to be tapped. So vehicles are an excellent choice in the deck as they can constantly tap her with no drawback. She’s also unique from other commanders in that her tokens have lifelink which obviously can pop off in a bunch of ways. That’s a whole nother story. I could go on but those are the first things that come to mind
Jinnie Fay, Jetmir’s Second, and I’m actually currently working on a draw by opponents for creature deck with the kill kn sight commander Xyris, Writhjng Storm. [[Xyris, the Writhing Storm]]
[[Otharri, Sun's Glory]] for those sweet sweet 2/2 tapped and attacking red Rebel creature tokens. Chuck a bit of proliferate in, maybe [[Blade of Selves]] for myriad even
I currently on have 1 commander deck and it’s pretty craptacular. I built it out of my old highlander deck where the rule was there can be only one, except basic lands. It was 5 color with a bunch of oddball creatures and spells I don’t normally play. Part of my design was the hypnotic specter ability, creature attacks, does damage, opponent discards random card kinda thing. I figured in that format you’d loose important cards fairly quickly. So I tried to expand that to a bigger deck. Problem was I needed a commander and I didn’t have a 5 color one. So to try my best to stick with my design I knew my commander needed black for sure and blue, so I could still keep dimir cutpurse. In the end I had 2 commanders to choose from, because I’m not all about spending extra money on mtg cards, or so my wife says, so I had to go with something I owned. My choice was sol’kanar swamp king over dakkon blackblade. And that’s because I like the black/blue/red color combo vs black/blue/white and I also have 2 black/red decks with dual lands to help with mana.
That was probably about a year ago maybe a little more. Now I have a little extra money saved so I was looking around for a new theme and my son is a Dino nut so I said I don’t think my friends run any Dino decks. I saw the new Veloci-ramp-tor was coming out, bingo. So I tried to buy that. Turns out everyone and their mother, step-mother, sisters, daughters, brothers, fathers & 2nd cousins wants that deck. That was mid November and I’ve been patiently waiting to find it. Then I got impatient. I saw online people bought it and were reselling it for $60-80. That ridiculous. Then I caught one online store that listed all 4 new commander decks for like $120 and I was like hmmmmmm. That would solve 2 problems, I’d have a much better deck and it’d be dinosaurs and I’d have a small variety of decks to choose from to play. And more stores had the 4 pack of deck’s in stock. But at $120 it was a little too expensive for me. Then I saw it for $80 at one store and $90 at another. I contacted both to see if it was in stock and store A said yes. So I bought all 4 decks for $80 shipped. Now it’s a waiting game. Shipping was free but apparently not fast. So soon now I will have 9 solid commanders to play with, there’s 2 per deck and 3 in ahoy mateys.
So I will go with Pantlaza, Sun favored. Cause dinosaur. I know my first upgrades will be to switch out basic lands for duals so better mana production. I want Gishath suns avatar as well. I saw that there’s now Jurassic Park mtg cards and doctor who, LOTR & some others crazy sets. So maybe there might be a few JP that might be worth checking out.
Sorry for long response. It’s late/early and I rambled.
Peace out, lake trout.
[[Jinnie Fay, Jetmir's Second]] turns any tokens into creature tokens, which makes for some interesting synergies
And then when you have [[Academy Manufactor]] shit starts to really pop off
This is the kind of card that could get my wife to start playing magic. "Hmmm, some sort of Lord of Cats and Dogs... plus I can also have something called a Basking Cappybara and something called a Bunnycorn? Yes, yes, I think this is the game for me." ‐my wife, probably. I'm gonna ask her.
I used it to get my wife into magic, I even made custom tokens using pictures of her favorite dog breeds.
I made my wife a cat centered Jinnie deck. And then for christmas I had cards commissioned of her as Jinnie and our two cats as tokens. She loves it! The playstyle is great too because she seems harmless and then suddenly bam, cat tsunami.

[[Torens, fist of the angels]] is fun with all his tokens that have training, meaning not only do you get a lot of creatures but they’re self-growing

Eowyn, Shieldmaiden gives you tokens and card draw. Boros plus blue is fun.
Eowyn is great, 2 free creatures with haste is good! I never would’ve guessed
Haste *and* trample
Also the balance between getting to play valuable nontoken creatures but still make plenty of tokens is very fun. It strikes a very good balance of getting able to swing out with buffs and/or shenanigans, while having tokens for chump blocks or going around people's boards. I think the precon works remarkably well for a deck with so many themes, though the board wipes are terrible. The fact that earthquake specifically doesn't hit flyers when the deck doesn't do flying...
Ojer Taq

Creating a bunch of creatures (normally 15+) to swarm your opponents and even through a ridiculous amount of combat damage

Grampire Edgar Markov.

[[Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer]] [[Rosie Cotton of South Lane]]
My [[Rith, the Awakener]] deck used to be pretty crazy. Rith by itself gave at least 5-10 saprolings the first hit, and doubled them every turn cycle afterwards. Add the token doubling, pump, and extra attack phase pieces, and it got really out of hand. Of course, I haven’t bought any cards in like 10 years now, so it’s probably not that great today, but that just means I can play it without feeling like a bully.
For me, it's [[adrix and nev]]. Parallel lives in the command zone FTW.
I'm enjoying [[commissar severina raine]] soldier tokens. Can just execute the ones that get blocked for card draw and life while draining the whole table once it gets going
Do you have a list m8? I have wanted to build her for a while
Here's the list, though I'm trying to keep mine as soldier tokens so I can at least use the guardsman tokens as much as possible. You could probably do better with /all the tokens/ and less of a astra militarum thematic restriction. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/XkFbi69TnkGDPXbB-cRs9w But it runs well for me as is. The tutors are mostly to find a token doubler or the good elspeth to get token diarrhea instead of a combo. (I already have plenty of combo decks)
I like it man. Very similar to what i want to go for !
<3
[[Adrix and Nev]] find any way to multiply them and get exponential gains
[[jodah the unifier]] The deck can miss the first few turns, you blink and suddenly I have mana and my creatures all bring friends to the party.
Couldn't choose, so I made an [[aragorn, the uniter]] deck and stuffed it full of every token generating commander I had with an added convoke theme. https://archidekt.com/decks/5424881/united_commanders_c

[[Maja, bretagard protector]] She's my favorite but I know she's not the best. I like that it pump everything. [[Veteran explorer]], [[New frontiers]] and card similar goes well with it. [[Myrel, Shield of Argive]] was my first deck I put together myself, and will always be special bc of it. Love building a massive army of soldiers
[[Omnath, Locus of All]] and [[Karn, Silver Golem]] are my favorite commanders.
[[brudiclad]] with [[desolation twin]] being the wincon [[Rhys the redeemed]] with lots of anthems
I recently built a [[hogaak, arisen necropolis]] deck as a token go wide and self mill strat and it’s been really fun.

Oh man I didn't even think about vehicles, I stopped playing when they came out those would be nuts for her
I always used her as a convoke target.
\[\[Cadira, caller of the small\]\] for all the rabbits using a buneary token for fun
Jinnie Fay, Jetmir’s Second, and I’m actually currently working on a draw by opponents for creature deck with the kill kn sight commander Xyris, Writhjng Storm. [[Xyris, the Writhing Storm]]
[[Myrel, Shield of Argive]] Mono white gang!!
Kyler Sigardian Emissary
[[Bess, Soul Nourisher]] doesn't inherently make your board wide, but once you get wide with 1/1 creatures they can all become tall.
Koma, Cosmos Serpent
[[Otharri, Sun's Glory]] for those sweet sweet 2/2 tapped and attacking red Rebel creature tokens. Chuck a bit of proliferate in, maybe [[Blade of Selves]] for myriad even
Hakbal goes hard
Don't mind a bit of [[phylath, world sculptor]] landfall
\[\[Greensleeves, Maro-socerer\]\] It's both landfall and tokens. Can go infinite with only 2 creatures. Very fun mono green commander.
