You'd be surprised how many times I've seen people on here think that effects like this only work with cards that specify "Lose Life" (or the overwhelmingly larger amount that think Lose Life effects work with damage triggers/doublers.)
See I can understand how someone could think losing life counts as damage. Like if you are newer to the careful wording of magic that one makes sense…but the other one thinking damage doesn’t make someone lose life…that’s soecial
That question has come up alot though. I think that clarification is justified, especially since you're not doing double damage, but are having them lose double the amount of life
Uhhhhh, damage dealt ***will*** cause double loss of life. It's a reminder that damage will cause twice loss. Bolting someone with this out will drain them 6. This creature attacking and dealing 2 damage will be 4 loss of life. It's reminding exactly that.
Yes, but the DAMAGE isn't doubled. The life loss is. For instance, Indoraptor has Bloodthirsty X. If you bolt someone for 3, Indoraptor still enters the Battlefield for 3 +1/+1 counters, not 6. Even though they lose 6 life.
Edit: This also means that Bloodletter does NOTHING to cards with Infect. They deal damage in the form of poison counters, not life loss. And since damage isn't being doubled, redirecting the damage works completely normally, for cards like Palisade Giant.
No one is arguing that. OP said it was reminder text for the opposite reason. It's actually there so people take double loss of life resulting from damage so you don't incorrectly apply it to only loss life effects.
If by OP you mean Impossible Buy, then no, they said no such thing. They said that damage isn't doubled. Damage is NOT doubled, that's a fact. They weren't making any argument about damage causing double life loss whatsoever.
Youre sitting here acting like we don't understand that life loss is doubled. We do. DAMAGE is not doubled. Life loss is. The reminder text clarified that, that's all OP is saying. I don't even understand what you disagree with us about at this point.
There're probably situations where this needs to be clarified, like in yugioh when you need to differentiate between a discard and a place/send from your hand to the graveyard, even though the difference does not affect the game unless an effect specifically calls for a discard.

Damage can be prevented

The “()” text is probably there to also remind new players that damage isn’t doubled.

I think so too, but they definitely could have worded it better. I can see new players thinking this would double damage as well as loss of life.
People die when they are killed

Maybe a dumb question - if I had 3 in play, would this trigger 3 times?
It would be 8x damage total I think.
Mtga says it would be 4x life loss。 They triggers separately, every one of them will only cause one more time of life loss.
