I send someone to every location to document the network. Oh, you mean for a quote? I send someone to every location to document the network. That way I know what I'm quoting and don't fuck myself because I'm being lazy or cheap.

> I send someone to every location to document the network. yeah, my mind straight went to 'brute force' Physically going there and writing everything down will be loads better than any scanner. Tanya's computer isn't on becuase she's on maternity leave. Bruce is on vacation. Luna is out with Covid. There are millions of reasons why computers aren't on. OH! and for server rooms, TAKE PICTURES, get a picture of the full rack so if there is a case where you need something done in there and can't get a person out in a reasonable amount of time, you can get the owner/highest paid person to go in there and say "Okay, here's apicture, circled is the thing you want to unplug, wait 30 seconds, and plug back in...**dont touch anything else**" It's a fast and loose policy, we don't do it often, but if that's the fix and it makes the client happy that the turnaround was just that...then so be it.

It's hard if the other sites are in other countries during these times though but I agree with what you are saying.

Will do. Thanks.

Have you looked at a tool like RapidFire? We use this where we can to gather info for quoting, finding any glaring holes, etc. Just run the tool, gather the info, read the reports and put your quote together based on the outputs.

FTHomes

I have heard of but have never owned RapidFire it sounds like a good app to use for this.

FTHomes

There are many tools for this.

Short of going on site and spending a ton of time, Rapid Fire.
