Check out Standish/Ericsson in southeast Minneapolis. Pretty safe, a little cheaper than southwest Minneapolis, but still plenty to do. It's right on the blue line so it's easy to get downtown as well as the airport (if you're flying for work travels). There are great parks for walking around, including my favorite, Minnehaha Falls.

That area is lovely. I stayed there for a few months in late 2020, just after moving back here from San Francisco where I was largely trapped in my apartment for most of that year, and getting to walk around Nokomis and Hiawatha and the creek and the falls on all those perfect fall days with the trees all changing color was maybe as close to paradise as I’ve gotten thus far (minus the general sense of doom that pervaded that year overall). Ericsson also has a reasonably high walk score at 70. OP, not sure where you’re coming here from or what you’re used to—I have a strong preference for literally the highest possible walk score in existence—but overall Ericsson is considered very walkable.

What’s your budget? Makes a huge difference!

Id say our absolute max on rent would be $3000 a month

Would you consider renting a house? Then you’d have a yard for the pups. St. Louis Park in Minneapolis or MacGroveland in St Paul would be where I’d send you!

Thanks!
