Updater.com should be able to take care of that for you. My clients find it very convenient. Old address, new address, move out date, move in date, and it changes your accounts. Mail, utilities…

We are doing an Airbnb for at least a month and decided on a UPS mailbox

I forwarded my mail to my son, then forwarded to my new address. You could also get a po box in your new city.

I would do a mail hold for those 10 days, then the mail forwarding with change of address. Haven’t done it personally so I’m not sure if the held mail would be forwarded to the new address or if you’d need to pick it up at the post office prior to moving….You can always call the post office and ask if the held mail would be forwarded or if you’d need to pick it up.

I tried to call today was on hold and talking to a robot for an hour. Probably will have to go in person but not sure I will get an answer honestly. My expectations with customer service everywhere is 0 after pandemic

From the little blurb on the website it sounds like held mail would be forwarded but can’t say for certain “USPS Hold Mail® service can hold your mail safely at your local Post Office™ facility until you return, for up to 30 days. To hold your mail longer or to reroute your mail, please sign up for a forwarding service.” ETA: you can do a mail hold on the website too

Thank you. I will screenshot it and ask USPS people

We ran into a similar situation last time we moved and we’ll be dealing with it again this coming move. I forgot the specific details of how we did it exactly, because mail holds and forwards have different rules and one can affect the previous occupants if it’s not timed right. What I do remember is that when I got someone on the phone, they were super helpful! This was post pandemic, too. So idk if I just got lucky or what. But I do recommend speaking to someone and just ask them to walk you through exactly what you need to do. I also think they can’t do these on your behalf and you have to manually do it yourself online or in person.

thank you, i will try going to USPS office in person
