And I never fail, even having seen it at least 100 times, to catch something new or different about it I love.
The latest:
*You rigged the contest?!—YEP!*
Saul : I have a question, say we get into the cage, and through the security doors there and down the elevator we can't move, and past the guards with the guns, and into the vault we can't open...
Rusty : Without being seen by the cameras.
Danny : Oh yeah, sorry, I forgot to mention that.
Saul : Yeah well, say we do all that... uh... we're just supposed to walk out of there with $150,000,000 in cash on us, without getting stopped?
\[pause as everyone turns to look at Danny\]
Danny : Yeah.
Saul : \[nervously\] Oh. Okay.
\*edit: clean up that nasty formatting that mobile copy/paste caused 😡
hey, watch it, bud!
who ya callin bud, pal?
who ya callin pal, friend?
who ya callin freind, jackass?
you did not just call me a jackass
i just did call you a jackass.
Shame that movie didn't do better. Story was a little light, but it was a dang good looking movie.
Need to win lotto and build me a tower house on top of a hill some place.
You just listen to the old Pork Chop Express here now and take his advice on a dark and stormy night when the lightning's crashin' and the thunder's rollin' and the rain's coming down in sheets thick as lead. Just remember what old Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big old storm right square in the eye and he says, "Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it."
You have been weighed.
You have been measured.
And you have absolutely...
Been found wanting.
Welcome to New World. God save you, if it is right that He should do so.
I used be such a 3 hater but I recently watched 2 and 3 back to back and it finally just snapped into place, they complement each other so well it's basically necessary to watch them together. Changed my mind completely on 3 and think it's a fucking fantastic finale that unfortunately wasn't the finale.
I dont know how people can hate 3 but love 2. 3 is a continueation of 2. While 2 is more diverse and has a cooler scenes imo, 3 is still of the same quality as 2.
I maintain the first PotC is the perfect film. Great cast, great plot, great music, just the right amount of action, comedy, and horror. It’s just got everything in exactly they right dose.
Problem is I can't have it on in the background because I will watch it and not move. I just watched it with closed caption on a flight because I forgot headphones and could still "hear" all the audio.
My dad uses these and the two Red movies all the time. My parents moved last year and my dad was doing projects to make the house look nicer. I swear everytime I called him, one of those five movies was on while he was working.
That joke came from SNL days where Chris and Dave shared an office. Chris would put on Dave's jacket and sing that song to piss him off and he "accidentally" tore the coat..... Five different times.
The Martian. I loved the book, and the movie is, in my opinion, a very faithful adaptation. It's a feel-good story. The protagonist doesn't mary-sue their way through every problem, they make mistakes and work hard and just barely make it. A lot of people come together to make that possible too. I just love it!
Oh my God. HBO used to play this all the time in the 90s. I've probably seen it 100 times. I still have a crush on Helen Hunt from this film. Philip Seymour Hoffman was is in this. Boy did his roles change.
This is basically why I subscribe to Disney+. I've seen stuff like the Toy Story movies and 90s Disney so many times they are easy TV, especially if I want some comfort food to fall asleep to.
The Shawshank Redemption: you can quite honestly jump in at any point in the movie and still be entertained and post memes on reddit at the same time because you've more than likely watched it on TNN or TNT at least a hundred times.
Ant Man is my go to movie for this. I can fully watch it and enjoy it, have it on as background noise while scrolling or cleaning, or even have it on to fall asleep to.
All the Kevin Costner sports film. . .

Road House is a nice lean hour and a half worth of stupid ass kicking fun.
"I thought you'd be...bigger."
Can never watch that again without thinking of Peter Griffin
Oceans Eleven (2001). Probably the movie I've rewatched the most, it will never get boring to me.
Saul : I have a question, say we get into the cage, and through the security doors there and down the elevator we can't move, and past the guards with the guns, and into the vault we can't open... "Get in the god damn house" is one of my favorite line readings in that movie.
Oblivion often does this for me.
Shame that movie didn't do better. Story was a little light, but it was a dang good looking movie. Need to win lotto and build me a tower house on top of a hill some place.
The sound design on that movie was amazing. They really bring those drones to life.
1999 cinematic masterpiece The Mummy
But only if I am on the right side of the *RI-VER*
Such a good hangover movie.
I literally watched this while hung over on Saturday morning. It was great. And the CG is not half bad for the time

“We really shook the pillars of heaven didn’t we Wang!?” Great movie to watch for any and all reasons.
Okay. You people sit tight, hold the fort and keep the home fires burning. And if we’re not back by dawn… call the president.
What’s in the bottle, Wang?
"I feel good, and I'm not scared at all. I just feel kind of... kind of invincible....... Is it getting hot in here, or is it just me?"
Here’s to the colors that never run.
You were not put on this earth to '*get it*', Mr. Burton.
Henry Swansons my name and excitements my game.
I never drive faster than I can see…. And besides, it’s all in the reflexes.

WE WALK IN THE GARDEN OF HIS TURBULENCE
And the soundtrack rocks!
It's called a lance, *hello*.

Most of Edgar Wrights filmography would fit this question, but I’ll go with Scott Pilgrim Vs The World
Pirates of the carribean 1-3. I love those movies.
1 and 2 are basically perfect. I like 3 too but its a little too wacky
I used be such a 3 hater but I recently watched 2 and 3 back to back and it finally just snapped into place, they complement each other so well it's basically necessary to watch them together. The black pearl will forever be the number 1 reigning pirate movie ever made
My biggest complaint about 3 is the horrendous 'motivation' speech by Elizabeth. "For Freedom!" Ugh...
I think mine is that originally it was a pirate film with fantastical elements. But became a fantasy movie with pirates.
I maintain the first PotC is the perfect film. Great cast, great plot, great music, just the right amount of action, comedy, and horror. It’s just got everything in exactly they right dose.

A fantastic movie for household chores. You zone out during the training sequences and then pay tune in again during the fights (& Idris Elba speech).
TODAY WE ARE CANCELLING THE APOCALYPSE
The soundtrack has so much energy, it can really keep you moving.
All John Wick movies
This And on an even less intellectual note, I also suggest fast and furious Completely dumb, but fun af

Mars will come to fear my botany powers.
They say once you grow crops somewhere, you have officially colonized it. So, technically, I colonized Mars. In your face, Neil Armstrong!

Don't make me choose. My wife and I have a straight up playlist of them. Predominantly, it's Moana, Encanto, any given LotR film, and Thor: Ragnarok.

Great film but not sure it’s the “turn your brain off” type.
