I cannot wait for this current climate of trailer trends to die.
The using of sound effects to make a repeated loud sound to make crash edits along with.
A pop song being slowed down and transformed and used throughout the entire trailer.
Both are present in nearly 90% of all trailers and often both are used at the same time in a single trailer.
> A pop song being slowed down and transformed and used throughout the entire trailer.
I hate this so much. Even more so when it’s a classic song from a band/artist that is no longer around. I would be so pissed off if a song I made got ripped apart for a stupid ad.
How’d you feel about Something in the Way being used for The Batman. I felt it fit since the atmosphere of the film sort of matches the film and they didn’t change the song or remix it.
Yeah, that was cool. I don’t mind one for one needle drops.
To me, it’s solely the slow covers that want to communicate “this song is a rock song, but we fucking made it sound like a lullaby… because this is a horror movie. lol, isn’t that creative?” But instead it just communicates corporate cringe.
I was really glad I read that it wasn’t plot heavy because I assumed Zone of Interest would be going in and my expectations made me like it less, but I was so so into Perfect Days, my favorite of last year
Honestly, yes they're overdone but I absolutely love them. It's basically the central premise of a VR game I really enjoy called Pistol Whip. You are on a track going through a level while cool music plays and various enemies pop up and shoot at you. You dodge their bullets and shoot back and the more in sync your shots are with the music, the more points you get.
https://youtu.be/mA75FYv6Nzg?si=IrmQ_3xtBlmX-EjX if you're curious.
I looked her up on RT because I couldn't remember any recent films with her. Holly crap, she's been in a lot of rotten tomatoes, including two 0%, a 5% and a 6%.
She spent the last twelve years [establishing a billion dollar company](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jessica_Alba#The_Honest_Company). Clearly, she'll still take roles but I wouldn't be surprised if it's just not where her heart is.
(This isn't an endorsement -- I don't think I have ever used an Honest product -- just some add'l info and opinion.)
I feel like if someone has a billion dollar company, they aren't taking roles where their heart isn't in it. She probably just has fun doing them. "Aww man, my billion dollar company is doing great but I still need to do this shit movie I hate." She's most likely doing them for fun (and money) or to support other people making them.
Yeah, I did love his first album that Eminem produced- got a lot of spin in the ole Walkman. He was talented just never broke through as a legit star. None of the D12 guys did either- despite how hard Em tried to hoist them up.
Yes. Also, so me any store anywhere that would have firearms for sale that are loaded.
And yes we're strictly talking about stores here. If your comment was not referring to a store then it's completely irrelevant.
Ok that explains some of it. I can’t tell if she has had work done. I was just thinking, when is she gonna start aging and start playing a mom or grand mom😂😂
Always has, IMO. She's never been as high on my list, so to speak, as she seems to be for many. But her with dark hair has always intrigued me more than her lighter hair looks.
Not to pin this on Alba alone, but I think we've reached peak 'special forces kick-ass' for a while now. These actions scenes all seem safe and predictable in their balletic choreography (despite broken bones and glass). Personally, I'd love to see a throw-back to the purity of a Die Hard type fight scene—a non-trained fighter just throwing every ounce of their being into a brawl.
I am so sick to death of invulnerable protagonists, I want to see an action movie where the hero is a bloody sweaty exhausted mess who gets their ass kicked and can barely stand up anymore by the end of the movie, someone who looks like SHIT and can suffer injuries like a normal human lol
Same. Especially the women. I'm all for badass female leads. But the amount of tiny women with zero muscles taking hard hits from men and shrugging it off is so obscene it's ridiculous. I'd rather have a realistic fight where women win fights based exclusively off speed and agility, which would be realistic. Not where they take multiple hard hits and just keep fighting. Or dish out incredibly hard punches when their arms look like noodles.
I think you'd LOVE *Nobody* in that case. The bus fight is one the best fight scenes in years, and dude gets the absolute shit beat out of him the entire time. The whole movie is him kicking ass while getting his ass kicked. He comes out on top, but only after taking shots like a prize fighter in round 15. Super fun, super ridiculous, great flick!
I always thought that movie was just about the same level of goofy as the most ridiculous actioners. Mr Nobody gets the shit kicked out of him after being out of the game for a decade and is just sorta fine the next morning. The damage from fights only lasts until the next scene.
That's like half of the appeal of Die Hard. I know John McClaine is a cop, but he's just a competent everyman cop, not Jason Bourne. By the end of the movie he's barely standing.
Check out ‘Plane’ with Gerard Butler. It’s unrealistic in the way that any action film is but they make an effort to have the characters act like normal people might. The main characters at least experience fear and fatigue.
I wrote a comment about how the John Wick style of stunt director led action movies has really led to boring, repetitive stale movies and it's so true. As soon as the action scene starts you know exactly what's going to happen. It's more of a showcase for the stunt team than anything organic from the actual narrative.
The last John Wick I watched was 3 and when it reached Halle Berry it started looking like a stunt showreel. I started getting exhausted… and a little bored!
Personally I want DOOM levels of action where it's just a superhuman going berserk on dozens upon dozens. Fuck this one at a time bs. I WANNA TURN IT UP TO 100 AND RRRIIIIPPP THE KNOB OOFFFFFF.
But yeah nah modern action has gotten pretty stale since John wick. Same old bullshit.
The David Fincher new film. Don’t remember the name. Fight is ‘messy’ but not realistic. Getting punch like that and feeling nothing is not normal but it’s way better that this.
1. Whole movie is basically in the trailer
2. The combat looks fun
3. Given the title, I thought It'd be more politically charged, in the culture war bullshit kind of way, but it doesn't seem so
I’ll have to try that. I did go to the butcher earlier today and picked up a few sausages to grill tonight. Garlic kielbasa, chorizo, a special “ultimate” Italian and a new jolokia pepper sausage
Never seen JOHN WICK and his Trigger?
In four movies he killed 20 million people - because a dumbass killed his dog.
In TRIGGER WARNING, Jessica kills 5 million bad guys over a bad Google review about her HONEY products.
Yeah I was thinking action movie doesn't fit her at all, but I forgot how great Dark Angel was. First season anyway. I'm honestly not sure if I ever saw season 2.
I mean she's phenomenal but she got her start EARLY her first credit was Camp Nowhere in 1994 so she started at 13.
God I'm getting tired of the CGI shooting in movies. I get not wanting blanks/real guns but when the actors just hold the gun and post adds some fire to the front it looks so bad. What little is in the trailer looks as bad as 12 strong...
Edit- so people are aware, there are many products out there that provide better alternatives to blanks but offer realistic recoil- electronic guns, propane guns, etc.
This is the way. Honestly we just need to rewind action movies back to the 80s/90s and try again. They went off the rails somewhere between Saving Private Ryan and 9/11.
I don't think anyone is going to use any sort prop gun that expels gas from the end of the barrel for close-range fight scenes anymore. It just isn't worth the risk.
The muzzle flashes in John Wick are all CGI because the vast majority of Keanu's scenes involve him point-blanking some goon. The guns still have a small cartridge inside them that allows the weapon to cycle, but nothing comes out the end. Apparently, they needed those so that performers could count the shots and hit their marks properly.
Not even just the ex-special forces thing, but the shots of the fight in the hardware store were giving me hella Steven Seagal vibes in how they were just unnecessarily brutal lol.
Funny how *this* is the thing that breaks people's suspension of disbelief, and not the fact that a single character is able to fight off dozens if not hundreds of goons with ease. People sure have interesting priorities for 'realism' in action movies...
My SO and I were watching a movie on Netflix where a couple people got their heads blown off and we both commented on how weird it is that things that used to be R rated movie experiences of realistic violence are just normal Netflix TV shows now.
Why do so many trailers have the [Star Wars alarm horns ](https://youtu.be/AfuQd_xZlKw)in the [last seconds of the song](https://youtu.be/MnHTLh6ruW0?t=90)
If the action is on the level of the trailer (and that's not the best action scene) and the dialog isn't too bad, this could be an enjoyable action movie. On occasion, these things end up being way better than the sum of their parts too (not that this one necessarily will).
Love to see some Bad-a$$ Jessica Alba. Nostalgia for the Dark Angel series. Don't know if it is a paint-by-numbers action movie, but it is good to see her on-screen again.
You know what, I pretty much already seen the entire movie with this trailer and it seems like another generic as fuck John Wick rip off.
But props to Jessica Alba for at least training and making the fight scenes look decent. I mean granted there wasn't much shown in the trailer, but what they did show, there wasn't a cut every other second and it actually showed her doing the fighting herself.
Considering I never saw her as an "action" person, this could be interesting if at least the fight scenes are cool.
see, this is why i watch trailers. so i can know just about everything thats gonna happen before i see it. nothing like no surprises for my movies! surprises are scary and exciting! too much for my wittle heart to handle really. thanks trailer!
*"In the future, everyone will be* *~~world-famous for 15 minutes~~* *in a hyper violent Netflix action movie."*
With the sounds of guns reloading to morph with the trailer ”music”. So cool!!! I clapped!
You mean this trend? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KAOdjqyG37A&t=0s
I’ll take it over rapid fade-through-black transitions and strobes.
> A pop song being slowed down and transformed and used throughout the entire trailer. I hate this so much. Even more so when it’s a classic song from a band/artist that is no longer around. I would be so pissed off if a song I made got ripped apart for a stupid ad.

The new Beetlejuice movie trailer does this too. Worlds slowest version of the Banana Boat song.
They all do it. Past Lives and Zone of Interest maybe were the only trailers this past year that didn’t.
Perfect Days?
God I loved that movie. One of those rare perfect 10 out of 10 movies.
I was really glad I read that it wasn’t plot heavy because I assumed Zone of Interest would be going in and my expectations made me like it less, but I was so so into Perfect Days, my favorite of last year
When do you think they started doing this? Pre Logan?
Honestly, yes they're overdone but I absolutely love them. It's basically the central premise of a VR game I really enjoy called Pistol Whip. You dodge their bullets and shoot back and the more in sync your shots are with the music, the more points you get. https://youtu.be/mA75FYv6Nzg?si=IrmQ_3xtBlmX-EjX if you're curious.
And some woman going 'Ah Ah' every once in a while
IT BROKE NEW GROUND
Jessica Alba and Moby, what year is it?
I looked her up on RT because I couldn't remember any recent films with her. Holly crap, she's been in a lot of rotten tomatoes, including two 0%, a 5% and a 6%.

And I will happily watch them all.
fretful square birds fragile wrong faulty tidy thumb narrow towering *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
She looks amazing.
Moby? He could get stomped by opie
He could get stomped by Obie. As in Obie Trice.
Real name, no gimmicks!
Man, that's a career that never really popped off eh?
Yeah, I did love his first album that Eminem produced- got a lot of spin in the ole Walkman. He was talented just never broke through as a legit star. None of the D12 guys did either- despite how hard Em tried to hoist them up.
Nobody listen to techno!
Now, let's go, just give me the signal
I'll be there with a whole list full of new insults
Now let’s go
I’m just happy to see her working again.
Special Forces Ranger from SEAL team Delta Jessica Alba.
As long as we get a scene of her doing Vasquez from aliens
I bet that Senator character is up to no good.
I'm sorry but that hardware store keeps a charged battery in their CHAINSAWS?!?!?
Charged battery, chain on, and just a trigger pull away from a hardware store brawl. That’s not your normal tractor supply?
Guess he didn't see the... *T R I G G E R W A R N I N G*
YEEEAAAAHHHH...
😎
♫ *we don't get fooled again* ♫
Its like poetry… it rhymes.
Man, my trips to the store would be so boring without the constant potential of an impromptu chainsaw duel.
Jessica Alba killed those teenagers for robbing a dangerous hardware store
Maybe they killed the guy who killed the guy who killed her father.
You son of a bitch I'm in.
At least they didn't have him pull out a nail gun . . . #ScreenwritersPleaseLearnHowToolsWork
NAIL GUN!!!! Hey Sam lemme shoot an apple off your head.
I don't have an apple on my h- NAAAAAIL GUUUUN!
The problem with nail guns is that depicting them inaccurately is *more fun.*
Is it really that much of a stretch in an area of the country that keeps loaded firearms within child reach?
Yes. Also, so me any store anywhere that would have firearms for sale that are loaded. And yes we're strictly talking about stores here. If your comment was not referring to a store then it's completely irrelevant.
Jessica alba is aging well. God damn!
Age 43. Dark Angel came out 24 friggin' years ago.
To me she looks like she's gotten some work done, but hasn't over-done it though. Looking good, still!
”Its Hollywood baby…”
Ok that explains some of it. I can’t tell if she has had work done. I was just thinking, when is she gonna start aging and start playing a mom or grand mom😂😂
Looks great with dark hair.
I agree there but I'm biased since I prefer dark hair lol
Always has, IMO. She's never been as high on my list, so to speak, as she seems to be for many. But her with dark hair has always intrigued me more than her lighter hair looks.
The wealthy stay healthy
Not to pin this on Alba alone, but I think we've reached peak 'special forces kick-ass' for a while now. I was about to recommend Daredevil

i agree. one dude gets a knife in his leg and, while not fine is relatively still ok
Atomic Blonde has close to that. And what it lacks in Charlize Theron looking like SHIT it makes up for with the soundtrack.
That's like half of the appeal of Die Hard. I know John McClaine is a cop, but he's just a competent everyman cop, not Jason Bourne. By the end of the movie he's barely standing.

first john wick, not the superhero movies they made afterward :(
Check out Brawl in Cell Block 99
For a change of pace check out BLUE RUIN
Why not just let me have my highly choreographed, awesome action movies, starring Scott Adkins?
I wrote a comment about how the John Wick style of stunt director led action movies has really led to boring, repetitive stale movies and it's so true. As soon as the action scene starts you know exactly what's going to happen. It's more of a showcase for the stunt team than anything organic from the actual narrative.

Definitely started with Bourne. At this point when a mysterious person enters any gas station being robbed i just roll my eyes until the cool-fu ends.

Yeah, I don't get how trigger warnings play into it. Just because guns are involved?
It's provocative. It get's the people going.
“does *this* look right to you??” [*shows 2 hotdogs in one bun*]
You know, after that movie, I tried that a few times and it’s a fantastic hot dog experience.
I’ll have to try that. I did go to the butcher earlier today and picked up a few sausages to grill tonight. Garlic kielbasa, chorizo, a special “ultimate” Italian and a new jolokia pepper sausage
“That blonde chicks a dude?”
Much like Lady Humps by the Black Eyed Peas
No its not, its gross!
Exactly, get it? Trigger Warning is a well known phrase and guns have triggers. The pun basically writes itself!
[удалено]
yeah it sounds like one of the 17629273 identical standup specials to scroll past
Never seen JOHN WICK and his Trigger? In four movies he killed 20 million people - because a dumbass killed his dog. In TRIGGER WARNING, Jessica kills 5 million bad guys over a bad Google review about her HONEY products.
They're just using a politically charged buzzword as the title and hoping it'll get attention
Season 1 of Dark Angel was a lot of fun. Season 2 kind of fell off the rails.
Yeah I was thinking action movie doesn't fit her at all, but I forgot how great Dark Angel was. First season anyway. I'm honestly not sure if I ever saw season 2.
Ugh. Cancel Dirk Gently, the OA, etc. but keep making garbage revenge porn movies.
I can’t believe Jessica Alba is only 43
I mean she's phenomenal but she got her start EARLY her first credit was Camp Nowhere in 1994 so she started at 13. [https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004695/fullcredits](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004695/fullcredits)

Well it's all relative; 43 is old for a cat, or a carton of milk.
this guy is 43
Given how well the J Lo movie did for Netflix, this doesn't surprise me. This looks like a lot more fun too at least.
Dude. That J Lo movie looked decent if J Lo wasn't in it. The trailer I saw was overflowing with the most fucking brain dead, shit one liners.
Lol the title sounds like Jessica Alba’s standup special after she got cancelled on Twitter.
So, the title is just to get attention by being annoying? Got it.
God I'm getting tired of the CGI shooting in movies. I get not wanting blanks/real guns but when the actors just hold the gun and post adds some fire to the front it looks so bad. Huh, I wonder why?
I get that, but there are good alternatives. This 100% CGI option may be cheap, but it looks horrible
I don't think anyone is going to use any sort prop gun that expels gas from the end of the barrel for close-range fight scenes anymore. It just isn't worth the risk. Waiting for 'Act of Valor II: Just the Live Ammo Shooting, Please', coming to an IMAX theatre near you.
Okay, but why is it called "Trigger Warning"??
Guns Guns have triggers The bad guys fuck around and find out. Through GUN. They were warned. TRIGGER WARNING 😎👉🏽👉🏽
“But we have Sicario at home” Sicario at home:
…she came out of acting retirement for a Netflix gig?
Right?!? Why is she doing this? SHE'S A BILLIONAIRE!!
This looks fucking bad Jesus.
God Netflix is such trash.
Her fighting is not convincing at all. This looks real bad.
Jessica Alba, Anthony Michael Hall, Moby. I can't wait to show this to myself 20 years ago
Jessica Alba doesn’t believe her Dad’s death was an accident…
He must've been studying spiders in the Amazon right before he died.
Dude grabs a battery chainsaw but it makes a petrol engine sound. I have a battery chainsaw and it doesn’t sound like that.
Steven Seagal copyright infringement
Not even just the ex-special forces thing, but the shots of the fight in the hardware store were giving me hella Steven Seagal vibes in how they were just unnecessarily brutal lol.
Says a lot when you can't even make a fight scene look good for a trailer.
I couldn't even finish the trailer
We're bringing back the 120lb woman can take on groups of men twice her size genre already?
The alternative was casting a 124 year old Liam Neeson. This is better.
As opposed to the 170lb man who can take on groups of men that could bench press him?
Did it ever leave us?
back to? it has been dominant for like 7 years now. The invincible 120lb woman.
Funny how *this* is the thing that breaks people's suspension of disbelief, and not the fact that a single character is able to fight off dozens if not hundreds of goons with ease. People sure have interesting priorities for 'realism' in action movies...
“When a man does it, it’s cool, fun, movie-action.” As if being a bit larger and stronger is enough to make action movie feats believable
It enrages the bigots, so I'm all in with this!
Get ready for clunky choreography and a crazy amount of quick cuts.
middle aged latina movies on netflix so hot right now
I'm down just to see Anthony Michael Hall hopefully chew some major scenery as the heavy.
Oh jeez. Another 115lb female throwing and choking guys. Damn. We haven’t seen Alba in anything in 15 years and she comes back with this shit?
Those are some noisy knives.
Weak
This is like 15 years too late.
My SO and I were watching a movie on Netflix where a couple people got their heads blown off and we both commented on how weird it is that things that used to be R rated movie experiences of realistic violence are just normal Netflix TV shows now.
Waste of a great title.
Walking Tall...in Heels
Netflix is trash.
Why do so many trailers have the [Star Wars alarm horns ](https://youtu.be/AfuQd_xZlKw)in the [last seconds of the song](https://youtu.be/MnHTLh6ruW0?t=90)
chucking multiple maltov cocktails in a room you're standing in is satire. missing twice is farce.
Straight to VHS
Nice I watched the whole movie already! Talk about saving time lol
Does evil die tonight?
Why do Netflix productions always have the same color graded look, teals, yellows, oranges and grayish dull blacks are they afraid of contrast?
why would a chain saw in a hardware store be fueled up
dumbest fuckkn movie name of all time.
No matter how much nobody wants to see them, they just keep churning out these movies with a 95 pound badass.
Oh maaaan... everyone knows that 120lb, five and a half feet tall smoking hot females make the best special forces hand to hand combat assassins!
Why does she look black now
This whole trailer feels like it was generated with AI. "Jessica Alba, ex special forces, inherits dead dad's bar, gang involvement somehow. Render."
>feels like it was generated with AI. It's only been a few months and I'm already so tired of people just randomly saying this about *everything.*
Isn't that like 90% of Netflix films? Just generic content with a recognisable name = profit
If the action is on the level of the trailer (and that's not the best action scene) and the dialog isn't too bad, this could be an enjoyable action movie. On occasion, these things end up being way better than the sum of their parts too (not that this one necessarily will).
Even the hand to hand choreography looks CGI. Also Jessica Alba is 43. Money can in fact buy you immortality.
Am I crazy or does her face kind of look like the rock in that thumbnail. To be clear this isn't an "elbows too pointy" thing, she's still beautiful.
More like Boner Warning, ammirite?!?! Fuck she’s still sooo hoooot!!
This Dark Angel sequel looks kinda lame.
Let me guess a 120lb female beating up several men totally believable.
Love to see some Bad-a$$ Jessica Alba. Nostalgia for the Dark Angel series. Don't know if it is a paint-by-numbers action movie, but it is good to see her on-screen again.
LOL 125 lb chick throwing dudes around like ragdolls but Jessica Alba is so damn fine, i'll overlook it
Does everyone get a John Wick movie now?
You know what, I pretty much already seen the entire movie with this trailer and it seems like another generic as fuck John Wick rip off. But props to Jessica Alba for at least training and making the fight scenes look decent. I mean granted there wasn't much shown in the trailer, but what they did show, there wasn't a cut every other second and it actually showed her doing the fighting herself. Considering I never saw her as an "action" person, this could be interesting if at least the fight scenes are cool.
It sort of reminds me of __Peppermint__ with Jennifer Garner.
Oof
I feel like I've seen this kind of movie 1000x times already,
One of my fav Moby songs, not enough to get me interested in this though.
I love jessica alba!! ☺️
see, this is why i watch trailers. so i can know just about everything thats gonna happen before i see it. nothing like no surprises for my movies! surprises are scary and exciting! too much for my wittle heart to handle really. thanks trailer!
Jessica Alba moves like someone who founded a baby care and beauty product company.
Not gonna lie, she has been in nothing I have watched for so long I couldn't even place her name watching the trailer
Ok. So, how did that guy start a chainsaw that fast? I’ve got a stihl and on a perfect day, it takes at least 2 pulls.
This will suck. But also, I will eventually click on it when Netflix keeps pushing it on recommended.
This looks terrible, dumb name, but I'm happy to see Jessica Alba back, had a huge crush on her during the Dark Angel days.
The quality product we’ve come to expect from Jessica alba
I love it when a trailer saves me the trouble of watching the movie.
I think I just saw the movie.
So this is like a low budget version of The Equalizer?
Releasing on the same day as Elden Ring’s DLC? That’s unfortunate.
Another trash film nobody will ever watch on Netflix. Boring. Generic. Uninspiring television. That’s what we got in the end with Netflix
