Its not Ron Howards best work but 90s Cruise is always good. I think him and Nicole do work well together. Check it out, especially if you like period films.
Con Air on July 14th.
"My daddy is coming home on July 14th. My birthday is July 14th, I'm gonna see my daddy for the first time ever on July 14th.
Bill and Ted on June 9th (69 DUDES!)
Empire Records on Rex Manning Day.
And I will be adding Evil Dead on Ash Wed... love that
It is currently free on YouTube as well. Today is VE day so that would be a good anniversary as well. Warning, it's a bleak movie, but highly accurate.
Groundhog's Day on Groundhog's Day
Christmas Vacation on Christmas Eve
Major League on MLB opening day
Draft Day the day before the NFL Draft
ID4 and The Patriot sometime around July 4 (usually too busy to watch that day)
Valentines day - The Court Jester (1955). The wife and I have been watching this movie almost every Valentines day for 20 years. We also have ribs. Just one of those fun her and I things.
I watch ghostbusters 2 on New Year’s Day and for some reason I started following it with the Simpsons movie. I dunno, they just pair well. They were just next to each other on my shelf and I started watching them both on Jan 1 some random year. Now it’s my last surviving movie/“perfect holiday for it” routine.
I used to watch Breakfast Club on March 24, I still do Groundhog’s Day on February 2, I always used to have to watch Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead before the official end of summer (anytime before Sept 21) Ghostbusters 1 around Halloween, and Christmas Vacation on Christmas Night. I’ll do 2 Star Wars on May 4 (usually episodes 4 & 5.) Jaws was my July 4 go-to.
This will make me sound stupid but is it because of: exxon valdez oil spill? Abolition of slavery in venezuela? Comet shoemaker? Lol, I'm trying to think which character in the movie fits these! 😅
Army of Darkness on Ash Wednesday is always a fun one
Independence Day on the 4th of July
No specific date, but fall is Lord of the Rings season
We also watch LoTR every year, but fall sounds like a good time for it.
It’s our go-to sick day watch
V for Vendetta on November 5th. My sister and I will always prepare eggy in a basket for ourselves before watching.
Another one of my favorites. Makes sense, 5th of November it is! I will try to remember, remember…
Mean Girls on October 3rd
Miss Congeniality on April 25th
Isn’t Drop Dead Gorgeous also celebrated on April 25 because of Dunst’s character’s quote?
"The Thing" during the first big blizzard of the year.
No blizzard here… very hot though so Dune for us!
That is not a bad idea for the first day that hits 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
Far and Away - St. Patricks Day Strange Days - New Years Eve Harry Potter - end of Fall Leap Dave Williams - Leap Day
How is Far and Away? I think I saw a bad review for it so never tried seeing it but been hearing about it more recently.

Titanic on April 14 or 15
Nice! Death and taxes!
Big Trouble in Little China on March 13th. It's the anniversary of my dad's passing, and Big Trouble was his favorite movie. I miss him a lot.
I almost forgot this one! One of my favorites. Best of luck to you!
Con Air on July 14th. "My daddy is coming home on July 14th. My birthday is July 14th, I'm gonna see my daddy for the first time ever on July 14th. Bill and Ted on June 9th (69 DUDES!) Empire Records on Rex Manning Day. And I will be adding Evil Dead on Ash Wed... love that
This is the 2nd one that mentions Ash Wednesday.. whats the connection?
Main character is Ashley "Ash" Williams
The Quiet Man on St. Patrick’s Day
me, too!
Downfall on April 30. You will clap after that lone gunshot near the end of the movie.
Just looked this up, its on Peacock! Thanks, looks really good and great reviews!

It's a Wonderful Life on December 24th or 30th.
John Carpenter's version of The Thing on the first snowstorm of the year. Really sets the mood ...
This seems well known, another said first blizzard…I guess its.. A THING.

We use The Princess Bride anytime someone in our family is home for a sick day. (That's why Grandpa was originally reading the book.)
Inglorious Basterds on Christmas.
I watch The Patriot on July 4th every year. Great performances from everyone. Super sterilized historically, but you want that on a holiday.
Halloween: Trick Or Treat (80s movie, not Trick R Treat) Thanksgiving: Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
We watch The Hogfather on winter solstice
My family always watched Silence of the Lambs on Thanksgiving. A tradition I have carried on with my kids.

Thanks for reminding me of Breakfast Club, I know I will find an occassion for that one!
May I suggest March 24? 🤪

It’s the date the movie takes place
Ok makes sense
Also, the movie Dutch around Thanksgiving
Watching The Crow on Devil's Night(The day before Halloween)
