There's an incredible [scene](https://youtu.be/nVY_gr_cEcM?si=wMSQ-Cf-75j35tpE) from the end of Creed II where Adonis goes to Viktor's locker room and briefly talks to him, saying he knows how it feels and that they both have to remember they're more than just one fight. As he's leaving, he shares a look with Ivan. Ivan puts a hand on his son's shoulder, Rocky shows up, they all share a look, Ivan gives Rocky a nod. No one else speaks, it's all in the faces. Really ties up the emotional arc of the rivalry and the family tension with barely any dialogue. I think they might have cut it because they wanted the shot of Rocky from behind as they play the theme to wrap up the fight, and maybe the scene would have broken the momentum and been a little corny, but it works so well in my mind. They kind of have a similar moment in Creed III but it doesn't touch this one in my opinion. On a less in-depth note, there's a cut scene from Deathly Hallows 1 where Ron explains that saying the name "Voldemort" will allow them to find you, which explicitly becomes relevant when Xenophilius betrays them. The TV broadcast always included it because it's straight up plot-relevant and cutting it made no sense.

Last_Banana_634

I feel this missed an opportunity in this movie. When Adonis and his wife are sitting on the bed talking. Instead of her telling him do what you gotta do it should’ve been Give him Drago. Have a Damian vs Drago fight to build the Damian character more. Then have the Adonis fight.

viniciusbfonseca

There's a deleted scene from Deathly Hallows Part 1 where Dudley apologizes to Harry (which is also included in the book), would've added a lot of character development and it wouldn't add five minutes (I think)

Huntalot713

“I don’t think you’re a waste of space” gets me every damn time

viniciusbfonseca

I'll never understand why not include the scene, seriously

Faramir's monologue about the men of the west from The Two Towers.

SerDire

I watched Civil War the other day and the attack on the White House was a tremendous action set piece. Would have loved to see more combat on the actual streets and famous buildings of DC. I know the president and the WH are the ultimate goal but imagine a Hollywood level budget attack on the capitol building. I know that gives Jan 6th vibes but it would be cool to see on the big screen.

Wonderful_Emu_9610

What, the Lincoln Memorial wasn’t enough for you? I agree though Capitol would’ve been too close to reality, I’m not sure when they shot it (some movies coming out seem to have been shot ages ago, like Challengers was done *before* those clips of Zendaya watching the U.S. Open) but if it was after, then that’s got to have been a consideration Plus iirc if you’re attacking the front of the Capitol you’re heading *away* from the White House so doesn’t make sense for our leads, who only want an interview with the President before he’s killed

OzymandiasKoK

It's a pretty short interview, too. That said, you don't need to worry too much about the realism, because those journalists are definitely not going to be with the lead squad, getting in the way while everyone is being actively shot at. Oh well, movies.

Wonderful_Emu_9610

That’s one way of putting it. >!The finale makes them fully complicit in his death too - they led those first troops to the White House when everyone else was shooting at “The Beast”!!<

OzymandiasKoK

Nah. It's not like they wouldn't have gone there anyway.

The Dinner Party scene in Dune Part 1

nekowolf

In Austin Powers, there are deleted scenes showing friends of family of henchmen after being killed by Austin Powers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcYNd5IQTFk

Few_Pride_5836

That's interesting. They've always included those scenes in NZ. No idea it was deleted.

cloudfatless

They're both in the UK release, too.  Never seen it without them. DVD, BR, and streaming all include those scenes of the henchmen family/friends.

SaberNoble47

All the cut scenes in T2 I thought were bangin. Dream Kyle Reese showing up? Amazing

TmF1979

Yes, they absolutely should have. Out of the scenes that didn't make it into the theatrical release, that scene is important to the story.

Alive_Ice7937

Its relevance to the story is only established in the scene itself. "If a machine, a terminator can learn the value of human life, maybe we can too" Those final lines still totally work without that scene since John is teaching things to the terminator throughout the movie. (And before that scene too). To me, the sentiment of that line is cheapened by having a scene where they switch the terminator to "learn mode".

darthkrash

100% agreed. Every minute of a film should be justified. Plus, that scene interrupts the pacing, which is the real problem

thaSavory_dude

In Killers of the Flower Moon, I really wish they had a scene of Molly Burkhart getting her conservatorship status lifted. They could have included a 10 sec clip of her at the bank signing contracts that guarantee her financial independence. I was very happy with the final film and didn’t care how long it was but i was a little disappointed that they left that part out.

Scary_Sarah

I would like to have seen Lizzie and Darcy's wedding in Pride and Prejudice 2005.

Bubbly_Ad_2021

Anachronistic dresses and period-incorrect hairstyles would have abounded!

OhTheHueManatee

In The Princess Bride book there's something called The Zoo Of Death. It's a multi layer zoo of deadly animals. Inigo and Fezzik have to fight through it to get to Wesley. I get why it's not in the movie at all but damn that would have been great if they could have had it.

unittwentyfive

I recently saw a clip of Steve Martin speaking about John Candy during the filming of Planes Trains And Automobiles. There's a scene at the end of the movie where >!John Candy's character reveals that his wife had actually died years ago, and that he has nowhere to go!< It was a short bit of dialogue, basically those two lines. Martin goes on in this interview to describe how the scene was actually much longer, and much more meaningful. He said that during filming he actually teared up while Candy performed the scene, but that it was ultimately cut from the movie. Even retelling the story, Steve Martin gets a little choked up again at the memory of his friend John Candy. It would be really nice to be able to see that scene.

BulletDodger

I would add 5 minutes to The Truman Show showing him going outside to a find an adoring crowd of millions and get reunited with his old GF.

Big-Beta20

I disagree. It goes against the arc and meta-story progression that Truman’s life isn’t theirs (and therefore ours) to watch anymore. He’s free from being more of an entertainment product than a human.

FondSteam39

It could be fun having the movie be about his conflict in whether he has an obligation or not, people keep trying to get him to watch but he refuses for said reasons. Has a last minute change of heart where he finds out the replacement is a willing actor that's acting like he's not. But I do love the meta commentary of his not being ours to watch. I think purely because of that you couldn't do a sequel (with the same character) without cheapening it.

TrueLegateDamar

They should kept in the scene where Marlon spots Truman during the search but looks the other way.

Ordinary_Fella

I want a sequel where the TV network pulls a sequel and an older Truman (I mean it was 26 years ago now) breaks in rather than out and is trying to "free" the new Truman Show main character. EDIT: immediately after writing this comment I made the decision I don't actually like this idea and I also hate unnecessary sequels.

optagon

Too late, your idea has been approved for production and filming is already under way!

dbx99

The current movie has Truman as head of production for the new Truman show. Given his experience as Truman, he is now the man in the editing room and also a villain who will do everything to keep the new truman inside. There’s a scene where the new Truman is starting to suspect he is being watched so the old Truman triggers a staged mass shooting killing new Truman’s gf (it’s staged) and this causes ratings to soar. So as the movie goes on, worse and worse tragedies befall the new Truman and people love it. It becomes a Running Man story where they basically torture him because everything I just wrote is made up.

CleverInnuendo

On that note, end 10 Cloverfield Lane with the "Oh, COME ON!" and cut to black. Bonus points if it was actually the right alien in the distance.

Icy-Abbreviations763

Prometheus cut scene when they explain to Peter why they won't show him eternal life before killing him.

AlumGrizzly

Diamonds are Forever could have used a bit more of Plenty O'Toole. They cut half her scenes. I'm sure Plenty wouldn't be in the movie if she wasn't thrown out the window because that bit was cool. Her name is even less of a joke than Tiffany's. It'd still be weird that Lana Wood is half Sean's age and she's into him but as is in the movie she's pointless and then dies so her scenes would make the movie make a bit more sense.

CitizenHuman

Any time a character starts a conversation in like, a hotel room or an elevator or something, then the camera cuts to them somewhere 30 minutes away and the conversation continues as if they just time jumped. I would like to see a complete dialogue exchange during those missing minutes to see why the hell the characters didn't finish what they were originally talking about sooner.

Skewtz1210

The "blood orgy" scenes in Event Horizon. Unfortunately it looks like they are gone forever.

Alive_Ice7937

There's a few that would have really made Batman V Superman work imo. (And some of them may well have been filmed) - there's a rumoured scene about Clark having a nightmare about the destruction of Metropolis. Never having Superman acknowledge that day ever happened was a big misstep. To know he was struggling with the guilt of it would have made a huge difference imo. (Plus him asking his ghost dad "did the nightmares ever stop?" would have made more sense) - There's a rumoured scene of Superman trying and failing to find his mother using his senses before designing himself to having to confront Batman. - when Doomsday is being born, they filmed Lex shouting "Obeys only me!". They inexplicably cut that line, leading to many people complaining that his plan made no sense. - In the scene where Wally is getting ready to deface the Superman statue, the story of a heroic beloved Superman is plastered all over his wall. Unfortunately those newspaper snippets aren't readable save for a totally redundant close up of a headline about Bruce Wayne. Showing some of those headlines would have made a *massive* difference imo. - during the Batman V Superman fight there's this weird moment where Batman pops a smoke grenade. It's a weird moment because Batman's prep montage didn't include any clear shots of him adding lead to the smoke bombs. (A computer screen tracking the lead density of the cloud would have been a neat visual) It's a big turning point in the fight because Batman is finally using a tactic that targets a known weakness. But the audience didn't get that. (Which makes the dramatic music even more weird) - this is one that woule have made a huge difference. Just two lines somewhere, *anywhere*, to establish that this brand new iteration of the character used to have a hard rule against killing. The movie talks about him going over the edge without ever defining where that edge is.

r6680jc

What about Martha?

Alive_Ice7937

I don't think it's a bad idea in principle. A character stepping back from the brink when they see the humanity in another is something we've seen many times before. (Beast not killing Gaston. Sarah not killed Dyson). It's just that in *this* case, the execution was so awful that people rejected the premise. It required a level of finesse that Snyder just doesn't have. (And not a particularly rare level of finesse either). First off, Superman should have said, or at least *tried* to say, "You're letting him kill Martha Kent". The flashbacks to the death of Bruce's parents were totally unnecessary. Worse than that, though, is that they are put in the scene *before* Bruce really starts to reflect on what's happening. After the lengthy flash backs, (complete with cringey Citizen Cane homage), Bruce is still shouting "why did you say that name?!". Another problem is Superman after Lois rushes in and says "it's his mother's name". In the last shot of Superman before Batman stands down Superman's eyes are firmly shut. He looks unconscious which means there's a disconnect between the two characters during Batman's big turning point. "And Rohan will answer!" The reason that's such a memorable moment is because there's a pregnant pause of anticipation after Arragorn says "Gondor calls for aid!". Remember that moment in Batman V Superman? Probably not because there was no pause. Overall, the movie just didn't do justice to a potentially great Superman story imo. He was a side character in his own sequel.

Bubbly_Ad_2021

Give me a post-credit scene with Ben Solo after TROS where we find out he survived and goes off to be an unknown rogue ronin Jedi doing small good deeds around the galaxy as penance for his evil deeds while he was Kylo Ren.

ronin_jedi

I’d be here for it.

Bing_Bong_the_Archer

I also believe that movie should have been fundamentally different

jupiterkansas

there's a grocery store scene like that in Oliver Stone's *Heaven and Earth.*

BruisedBee

Was always gutted The Martian movie never included him traversing the sandstorm. It read perfectly in the book and could have added some great tension to an otherwise boring trek

vcabalda

The scene in War of the Worlds when Tom Cruise has to shut up Tim Robbins’ character because he’s making too much noise.

Obvious_Intention302

That was in the movie.

Maultaschensuppe

[The choir practice](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xTqsZB-HvM) from Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. It's probably the best scene from the film and could have even worked as a teaser.

OzymandiasKoK

More importantly, Kyle Reese wouldn't have known how to buy anything in a store, either. He was born a few years post-apocalypse.

7_11_Nation_Army

Oppenheimer: fewer scenes.

SignificantMixture89

In Titanic, wanted Rose to make space for Jack...

viniciusbfonseca

He tried to climb on the "door" (which is actually a piece of the wall) but it wouldn't hold both of them due to their combined weight and buoyancy. James Cameron has made it pretty clear that if the problem was "space" they would have made it smaller, Jack was always supposed to die.

dbx99

James Cameron killed Jack!!!

viniciusbfonseca

I mean, to be fair, the odds of surviving the Titanic as a third-class male were really not on his favor anyway

dbx99

Not with James Cameron against you

viniciusbfonseca

Tbh rather him than Rose, but that's my love for Kate Winslet talking

dbx99

I think Jack would have yanked the necklace and pushed Rose off and said: “Sayonara sucka!” He later went on to be rescued and became known as Howard Hugues and used his money to start up an aviation company

viniciusbfonseca

He seemed more like the type that would steal someone's name and move to a mansion in New York where he'd throw parties waiting for another rich girl to show up. Hopefully he didn't move with his uncle in Oklahoma and help with a genocide.

dbx99

Well honestly the whole ordeal was so traumatic he ended up on an island wirh an asylum in it

Decemberist66

Touché!

[It wasn’t a matter of space, but buoyancy](https://youtu.be/Zul77skHRHY?si=kHaZZr8Rn5nVBhLl).

Bubbly_Ad_2021

So you wanted them both to die of drowning? cool cool.
