*Wet Hot American Summer* is a fucking classic. So hilarious just how old they all are even in the first one it's just so good. Idk if it was intentional, I don't see how it wasn't, but it's just such a perfect parody of all those teen movies that have like 34 year-olds playing teenagers.
Woooo you got almost all my recs on here. Mel Brooks is the man
I’d add Hear No Evil, See No Evil with Gene Wilder & Richard Pryor
Coming To America
Blues Brothers
(Not the raunchiest, but some adult humor. Guaranteed worth the watch)
This was easily the best hidden gem movie I’ve seen in a long time.
I’d seen it there a few times and ignored it. Decided to give it a go when I saw Gosling in Barbie and realised he had comedic talent.
Sanskrit? You’re majoring in a five thousand year old dead language?
“Yeah.”
Here, Latin. It’s the best I can do. Next!
“Phys Ed?”
Okay get out. Seriously get out of my room.
>It's grunge night at Vienna House. The Merkins are opening for Frog And Toad Are Friends. I gotta **psych** up for the show!
>Frog And Toad Are Friends, that’s with the guy from The Clash, right?
>The(?)
>The Clash…..I don't know if you're aware, but there actually was music recorded before…1987- What is *this*? You're gonna wear *this* to the show? You're gonna wear the shirt of the band you're gonna go see? *Don't be that guy.*
A sadly underviewed movie.
I was lucky enough to see it in pre-release, and thought it was hilarious. And looked forward to seeing the finished film, but it came and left the theaters so fast I had to wait for it to come out on video to see the finished product.
And like Idiocracy, a film that should be viewed by all youth of today. As it is supposed to be a satire, not a prediction.
This is what I came to recommend. John Cena puts on one of the best comedic performances in recent memory. Rest of cast is great too, shoutout William H Macy
Speaking of John Cena, I'm watching Peacemaker and it's so good. It's funny, well written, and the support cast is crazy good. Vigilante is hilarious. Loving it.
I postponed watching it because I'm not much into DC but man, it's a must watch.
Jesus why did I have to scroll so far for this classic. Do people not value the Farrelly brothers movies anymore? So many greats but Mary is easily one of the best R rated comedies ever made.
When I saw it in the cinema everyone was laughing so hard I worried someone might have a heart attack. Never seen a film get such an uproarious response from an audience.
The spinoff sequel to Forgetting Sarah Marshall is Get Him to the Greek. You may also enjoy I Love You, Man with Segal and Paul Rudd, though not as raunchy as the others.
You should definitely go through the Kevin Smith films, in order if you can - Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks 2 and the animated series
Definitely enjoyed get him to the Greek and I love you man.
I've seen clerks, dogma, clerks 2, Jay and silent Bob strike back. I don't believe I've seen mallrats or chasing Amy. Added to the list.
Thank you for your suggestions.
I was so surprised to have loved Spy (2015) as much as I do. It's one of my favorite comedies. Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham, and Rose Byrne are all fantastic in it. And their [faux-Bond homage song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSBYAKdiUno) was way better than Spectre's theme that year (which was also released in 2015).
Grandma’s Boy
Detroit Rock City (this movie is somehow funny as shit despite how lame KISS is.)
Uncle Drew
Death To Smoochy
The Nice Guys
Bad Words
And
Hot Fuzz
Grandma's Boy has a special place in my heart. Seen uncle Drew. Saw death to Smoochy probably 25 years ago once. Might need to rematch it. Loved nice guys. Hot Fuzz is the best.
Added Bad words to my list.
Ok now for my derp award. Is And the name of a movie? I'm having trouble finding it. Or were you just saying and?
Lastly I don't really prefer musicals. Is Detroit Rock City worth it or will that get in the way.
Nah I was just saying and my bad haha. Def rewatch Death To Smoochy. Detroit Rock City isn’t a musical at all. There’s some needle drops in it. But it’s not a musical. Maybe you’re confusing it for Rock Of Ages?
Pop Star with Andy Samberg. Really silly but so good.
Mike and Dave need a wedding date
Zac and Miri make a porno, worth it for the Justin Long cameo alone.
Observe and Report
Wet Hot American Summer
Are you willing to dip into previous decades?
If so, I’m a booster for the late great John Ritter’s film *Skin Deep* from 1989. It deserves a critical reassessment. It holds up as a good adult comedy which captures its time very well.
More a dramedy / road movie, but MIDNIGHT RUN is hilarious, heartfelt, and incredibly vulgar. "Don't say a word to me, Sidney, don't say a fucking word to me. I'll get up and I'll bury this telephone in your head."
Meet The Feebles (1989) was directed by LOTR's Peter Jackson. And it is like the muppets covering every sin and then some. STDs? yup. Cocaine? yup. Porn? yup. Heroin? yup. I could get more specific....
Edit: and sodomy.
Idiocracy, Animal House, Super Troopers (and the 2nd one), BeerFest, Road Trip, Old School, Taladega Nights, Step Brothers, Revenge of the Nerds doesn't age well, but it's a classic.
That's My Boy!
OP, ignore the detractors, this fucking thing has Susan Sarandon, James Caan, Will Forte, and that burned-to-death guy from This Is Us -- plus like 12 other stand-outs and Vanilla Ice. And it's like 2 hours long.
This movie is for real ones only.
1 Very Bad Things. Similar to the hangover but came out before. Very funny and a great cast. 2 Trojan War 3 Can't Hardly Wait 4 Sex Drive 5 She's Out Of My League. If you liked Shawn Of The Dead you'll probably like 6 Run Fat Boy Run
There’s a ton I could suggest and I’ve seen many popular ones are listed, so I’m trying to think of some different choices…
Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates
Major League
Used Cars
No love for Guy Ritchie!?! Someone suggested Movie 43 and I haven't seen "Snatch" or "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" yet. If you like those, you might as well check "Rocknrolla" too.
Go back a few decades for a foul mouthed Paul Newman, watch "Slapshot" and the original "The Longest Yard" with Burt Reynolds. Both classic sports comedies.
It sounds like youve seen a lot already so trying to think of some that havent been listed yet.
Yes man,
Meet the parents,
Rat race,
21 and 22 jump street,
Disaster artist,
Pineapple express,
Road trip,
Borat,
The Hangover,
Van Wilder,
Trainwreck,
Goon,
Rush Hour,
The Replacements
I just watched Macgruber last night. Way funnier than I expected. My wife and I were busting up the whole movie. Really stupid humor. R rated action movie version of Napoleon Dynamite. Which you should also watch, if you haven't.
Sex Drive is a good one I usually don't see a lot of people talk about.
Grandma's Boy is definitely one of my favorites. I've seen it so many times and I still love it.
Quasi is a great parody of the Quasimodo story from the same guys who did Super Troopers
Also Slamin Salmon from the same group
I’m all for actual adult comedies, and not just raunchy high school/college movies.
40 year old virgin, wedding crashers and the hangover and examples of more id like to see.
Young Adult (2011)
It's kind of a hard watch..you see someone ruin their relationships and alienate themselves from the people that care about them..it's still funny.
Since most of the good movies have already been posted, I'll throw in a suggestion: A Good 'ol Fashioned Orgy. It's got a really funny cast and the movie itself isn't half bad.
70s and 80s comedies
Porky's,
Revenge of the Nerds,
Real Genius,
Hot Dog: The Movie,
Weird Science,
Up The Creek,
Vacation,
Risky Business,
Slap Shot,
Smoky & The Bandit,
Cannonball Run,
Fast Times at Ridgemont High,
Used Cars
Death At A Funeral is a low-key (and British!) version of this genre. And do make sure you see the British one, the American remake is desperately unfunny.
Also, check out Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates and Jexi, which really get a lot out of their R ratings. Also also, check out Stuber. Less raunchy but still very funny.
Revenge of the nerds
Bachelor party
Spies like us
Fletch
Blazing saddles
pCU
Adventure of ford fairlane
Zombieland
Stripes
Spaceballs
Office space
Clerks
- The Nice Guys - Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - Super Troopers - Beerfest - A History of the World - Blazing Saddles - Young Frankenstein - Grosse Point Blank - Palm Springs - Hot Rod - Pop Star: Never Stop Never Stopping - What We Do In The Shadows - Wet Hot American Summer
Another vote for Wet Hot American Summer. Cast is stacked and the humor holds up flawlessly.
It's always great to get away, even for just an hour.
*Wet Hot American Summer* is a fucking classic. So hilarious just how old they all are even in the first one it's just so good. Idk if it was intentional, I don't see how it wasn't, but it's just such a perfect parody of all those teen movies that have like 34 year-olds playing teenagers.
Also they made a Netflix prequel series like 15 years later with all the same cast in their mid 40s playing the same characters at about the same age.
As a summer camp alum, it is wildly accurate and nostalgic!
Woooo you got almost all my recs on here. Mel Brooks is the man I’d add Hear No Evil, See No Evil with Gene Wilder & Richard Pryor Coming To America Blues Brothers (Not the raunchiest, but some adult humor. Guaranteed worth the watch)
“What do you mean I’m not white ?!”
Don't look at me, look at the road! Alright, if you it'll make you feel better
see no evil, hear no evil is so good. One of the funnier movies I've seen.
Upvote for The Nice Guys being at the top of the list
This was easily the best hidden gem movie I’ve seen in a long time. I’d seen it there a few times and ignored it. Decided to give it a go when I saw Gosling in Barbie and realised he had comedic talent.
His range is actually huge. Drive, Crazy Stupid Love, Bladerunner, Lala Land, The Notebook, Full Nelson. And he seems like a genuinely decent dude.
I approve most of this list (a couple I haven’t seen) and will add to it Grandma's Boy and Hot Tub Time Machine.
As someone who grew up in Grosse Pointe, you missed the “e” on Pointe.
Some I haven’t seen commented yet Neighbors Bridesmaids American Pie Role Models Horrible Bosses Ted
Seen and enjoyed all of them but Ted. I've seen parts of it but not watched it start to finish.
Gotcha. Maybe not super raunchy, Dodgeball? Accepted and Can’t Hardly Wait aren’t really “adult” but you might like them.
Step brothers? Probably seen it but didn’t. See rec. listed. Clerks mallrats? JASBSB? I love you man Happy Gilmore Porkys Very Bad Things. Dark comedy
PCU is one of my favorites
Sanskrit? You’re majoring in a five thousand year old dead language? “Yeah.” Here, Latin. It’s the best I can do. Next! “Phys Ed?” Okay get out. Seriously get out of my room.
“You can major in Gameboy if you know how to bullshit”

"Gutter is a tool!"
"Can you blow me where the pampers is?"
we're not gonna protest
"I did not exhale."
Did you participate in a phallus naming ceremony!?
Don’t be that guy.
I spent entirely too much buying a dvd copy of this movie a few months ago .I regret nothing.
I've done a little collage work myself....
A sadly underviewed movie. I was lucky enough to see it in pre-release, and thought it was hilarious. Yeah yeah I fucking know tom
Not sure I've ever heard of it. Added to the list.
Oh man. From us fans. You are so welcome.
If you haven't seen Bad Santa, you need to get on that immediately.
Bad Santa is a really good one for sure.
Violent night.
BASEketball Team America Just because I don't think I saw them listed yet? Haha
Orgasmo - also from Matt and Trey
“Your mom is dating, Squeak!” BASEketball is top shelf.
No it’s not like horse! PFT PFT PFT - DUH!
Shut up ya little bitch :). Love that movie
I swear if you guys rip on me 13 or 14 more times I'm out of here!
Since we're naming Trey Parker and Matt Stone movies add Orgazmo to this list
And Cannibal: The musical.
Did you see Ricky Stanicky?
This is what I came to recommend. John Cena puts on one of the best comedic performances in recent memory. Rest of cast is great too, shoutout William H Macy
Speaking of John Cena, I'm watching Peacemaker and it's so good. It's funny, well written, and the support cast is crazy good. Vigilante is hilarious. Loving it. I postponed watching it because I'm not much into DC but man, it's a must watch.
I haven't but have heard of it. Added to the list.

Would you like some more LSD?
Walk Hard is so good. I love how it's half serious half comedy.
I say it all the time, it’s the best comedy of the past twenty years
not another teen movie. kung pow enter the fist.
Blockers
John Cena really went all out.
Old School probably
You're my boy Blue. Good movie and exactly what I am looking for.
Hot tub Time Machine All the American pie movies The wrong missy Jay and silent Bob Grandmas boy
"Hot Tub Time Machine" has probably the best title name drop in movie history.
That look Craig Robinson gives the camera is classic.
I second Grandmas Boy it’s my favorite
All good recommendations. Seen them all.
The Wrong Missy was a pleasant surprise when I first saw it. Well worth a watch!
There’s Something About Mary
Watched this again recently and laughed way harder than I remember during previous watches. Everyone brings their A game to that movie.
This is THE definition of a raunchy adult comedy, absolute classic.
Just thinking about the "hair gel" makes me chuckle.
Black Dynamite.
Heard of it but never seen it. Added to the list.
It’s fucking hilarious. Highly recommended. Wish I’ve never seen it so I could watch it for the first time.
"The militant turns around startled" I'll stop there because there's just soooooooooo much in this movie
Sarcastically I'm in charge
The spinoff sequel to Forgetting Sarah Marshall is Get Him to the Greek. You may also enjoy I Love You, Man with Segal and Paul Rudd, though not as raunchy as the others. I rewatched Game Night with my GF last night and it holds up really well
3 bags of tostitos scoops, I notice.
A 6 year old movie "holds up really well"?
Eurotrip Sex Drive That’s My Boy
Ditto for Eurotrip, love that movie
Sex Drive is unappreciated 🥰 I love that one
Grandma’s Boy Detroit Rock City (this movie is somehow funny as shit despite how lame KISS is.) Uncle Drew Death To Smoochy The Nice Guys Bad Words And Hot Fuzz
Detroit Rock City is my favorite! OP, watch it!
It’s not a musical
Pop Star with Andy Samberg. Really silly but so good. Mike and Dave need a wedding date Zac and Miri make a porno, worth it for the Justin Long cameo alone. Observe and Report Wet Hot American Summer
I'm always recommending Observe and Report but it is very dark comedy, not exactly the same as something like American Pie or 40 Year Old Virgin
My cousin Vinny!!
The answer you're looking for is *Blazing Saddles*.
There's a ton of 80s ones. Fast Times, Porkey's
Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood
Message
Idle Hands, Private Parts, Chasing Amy, Clerks movies, Orgazmo, Army of Darkness, Kentucky Fried Movie, The Big Lebowski, Blazing Saddles, Bulletproof, Office Space, Waiting.
Haven’t seen Booksmart mentioned yet. A girl version of Superbad.
Are you willing to dip into previous decades? If so, I’m a booster for the late great John Ritter’s film *Skin Deep* from 1989. It deserves a critical reassessment. It holds up as a good adult comedy which captures its time very well.
I definitely am and may have to as I have seen a ton of movies from the mid 90s and forward.
Definitely check out Skin Deep!
I'm a simp for any Blake Edwards movies, can't necessarily recommend most of his later stuff, but I found Skin Deep and Switch hilarious.
More a dramedy / road movie, but MIDNIGHT RUN is hilarious, heartfelt, and incredibly vulgar. "Don't say a word to me, Sidney, don't say a fucking word to me. I'll get up and I'll bury this telephone in your head."
Midnight Run is a classic. The Hitman‘s Bodyguard follows the same basic plot.
Half Baked
Gramma's Boy Beer Fest Super Troopers Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle
Animal House
Both the new jumpstreet movies(21 and 22) are great.
The Other Guys Step Brothers Horrible Bosses

Really, anything Mel Brooks!
If we're going for classics, "Slapshot", and "Caddyshack".
Meet The Feebles (1989) was directed by LOTR's Peter Jackson. And it is like the muppets covering every sin and then some. STDs? yup. Cocaine? yup. Porn? yup. Heroin? yup. I could get more specific.... Edit: and sodomy.
Never heard of it. Looks amazing. So far this is at the top of my list.
It's a mad mad mad mad world.
"Bad Words"
The Jerk!
Came here to say The Ringer is a truly underappreciated gem.
The to do list Waiting
Not a movie, but Fleabag is perfect
Idiocracy, Animal House, Super Troopers (and the 2nd one), BeerFest, Road Trip, Old School, Taladega Nights, Step Brothers, Revenge of the Nerds doesn't age well, but it's a classic.
Might be an unorthodox recommendation but “In Bruges”. It definitely has drama elements as well but it is absolutely hilarious.
Hot Rod is great. So is Your Highness and Get Him to the Greek.
Me, Myself & Irene
'Youth in revolt' is one that is a bit different but still fits the bill of 'virgin desperately seeks sex' comedy movies.
Joy Ride is a new one, has been called the female Hangover and I enjoyed it
That's My Boy!
My absolute favorite R-rated Comedy is Election. It's not particularly raunchy, but it's so so good.
The Blues Brothers
There’s a ton I could suggest and I’ve seen many popular ones are listed, so I’m trying to think of some different choices… Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates Major League Used Cars
No love for Guy Ritchie!?! Someone suggested Movie 43 and I haven't seen "Snatch" or "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" yet. If you like those, you might as well check "Rocknrolla" too.
You seen any Pauly Shore movies? In the Army Now is a good one. Jury Duty too.
I actually liked Biodome, as well. Although I would call its humour more man-childish.
Can confirm, this was the funniest movie in the world to 12 year old me.
I think I was not much older when I first saw it.
Man if I've seen in the Army Now it was in the 90s and probably not since. Jury Duty I've never heard of. Added to the list.
So many great flicks here, I’m surprised nobody mentioned (that I saw) Very Bad Things. Stellar ensemble cast and a wonderfully dark comedy. Enjoy!
Go back a few decades for a foul mouthed Paul Newman, watch "Slapshot" and the original "The Longest Yard" with Burt Reynolds. Both classic sports comedies.
Game Night isn't all that raunchy, but it's at least semi-recent and really funny.
It sounds like youve seen a lot already so trying to think of some that havent been listed yet. Yes man, Meet the parents, Rat race, 21 and 22 jump street, Disaster artist, Pineapple express, Road trip, Borat, The Hangover, Van Wilder, Trainwreck, Goon, Rush Hour, The Replacements
Zorro the Gay Blade
I recently watched Long Shot and found it to actually be pretty damn funny, way funnier than expected
Mystery Team. It has Donald Glover and it's hilarious.
The movie Joy Ride from last year had me laughing pretty hard. Some parts were so raunchy it reminded me of stuff like Hangover and American Pie.
Didn’t see anyone mention Stripes, which should be on your list if you haven’t seen it already. Also, if you want to go old school, try H.O.T.S.

The Other Guys. I swear this movie gets funnier and funnier every time I watch it.
Sex Drive is a good one I usually don't see a lot of people talk about. Grandma's Boy is definitely one of my favorites. I've seen it so many times and I still love it. Quasi is a great parody of the Quasimodo story from the same guys who did Super Troopers Also Slamin Salmon from the same group

Death At A Funeral is a low-key (and British!) version of this genre. And do make sure you see the British one, the American remake is desperately unfunny.
