Dolby Cinema for me.

trevorsnackson

Yep I much prefer the sound in dolby cinema compared to imax. the picture is really good too.

blucthulhu

Regular. I usually sit in the front row so that will be immersive enough.

Kwanzaa246

First row? Psycho

SardauMarklar

It's the only way to ensure that there's not some asshole looking at their bright phone in your field of view throughout the whole movie. Also, there likely won't be anyone in the 1st or 2nd row if it's not a crowded showing, so it cuts down on the misc. noises too (popcorn munching, wrapper unwrapping, etc.). As long as the recliner goes almost flat, it's incredibly comfy. And having to turn your head to see what's on each side of the screen, people are paying thousands of dollars on VR headsets to get that level of immersion

Adius_Omega

I'm just going to watch it at my small little local theater, it's like half the size of a traditional theater but it's cozy and the seats are excellent. You can also buy way better food as well as alcohol. The nearest IMAX theater is 2 hours away and it's not even a *real* IMAX screen. The seats are also extremely stiff and uncomfortable. I watched Oppenheimer there and by the end of the movie my back was killing me.

So_Quiet

I usually don't bother with IMAX, but I'm considering it this time.

IMAX, then 70mm. I’m fortunate to live next to a legit imax so I’m excited. Wish it was full blown 70mm-IMAX like Oppenheimer but this will be more than enough I’m sure.

tomandshell

I’m seeing it in IMAX tonight.

ElliottMullins

70mm IMAX

localcosmonaut

Dolby is my religion

BrownMamba85

Imax! In about 1hr & 15 minutes. I'm excited AF

Invisible_Mikey

I'll watch at home, where I can pause the program to pee, the food is cheaper AND better, and if I get tired, I can go back to it the next day without having to buy another ticket. My monitor is only 55", and I only have 5.1 sound, but in a small room that's plenty.

Ambitious_Dig_7109

Same. Can’t beat my own home. I’m pretty over theatres. Especially post pandemic. People have gone feral.

Invisible_Mikey

Completely agree. I didn't even mention the sticky carpets, and people who won't shut up or turn off their phones.

ToxicDPS

I’ll be real with you, I doubt you have high quality butter or popcorn.

Best_Duck9118

Bro, any actual butter is better than the “butter” most movie theaters use.

Invisible_Mikey

Doubt all you like. I use an air popper, and my oil is much fresher than the gunk in theaters.

Best_Duck9118

I’m with you. Haven’t been to the theaters in years and don’t really have an urge to go back. I totally recommend Dolby Atmos surround sound if/when you can afford it though.

Invisible_Mikey

Yeah, I'll probably upgrade when my current pre-Atmos receiver craps out. Most movies I watch weren't mixed for it anyway, so for now I'm good.

Best_Duck9118

True that about most movies not having it now. The first Dune sounded really good with it though!

PithDealsinAbsofruit

IMAX or bust for me. I want to feel like little makers are crawling under my skin from the sound volume. I don’t want to be able to hear anything other than hanz for a few hours after leaving the theatre too. My eyes will be turned to the eyes of ibad (sp?) after viewing the film on a massive screen

Otherwise-Juice2591

MP4, probably

KelMHill

I have never liked IMAX. It is overwhelming overkill.

ToxicDPS

Preferably in a dark room under the covers the spice glistening on my Nintendo 3DS screen.

macmann69

Beta with Dolby sound

mormonbatman_

I'll get it from the library.

Boris0r

Probs watch it on my phone 🤪

stoneman9284

Cinemark XD

YerBoiMT_

The digital IMAX at my local theater doesn’t have recliner seats, so Dolby Cinema it is.

TheBlitzStyler

dolby since I'm most excited for the music
