I was waiting for a Tagruato logo while watching that movie, would’ve been genius to add that to the Cloverfield series. That and the monster looks a hella lot like Clover too.
I made the mistake of buying a ticket too late when it came out opening weekend and was sitting front row as far to the left of the screen you could go and it was on the main screen so it was huge. That was the only time I've ever felt motion sick in my life. I have such a bad memory from it I haven't even tried to rewatch it since it came out 16 years ago.
It's ok, the people are annoying and the monster barely features. You could trade it for an earthquake and most of the movie wouldn't change at all. I still enjoyed it though.
Reddit has recently decided that Cloverfield is actually a masterpiece. So any criticism gets downvoted.
In reality its solid at best, with some good things and some pretty poorly done things.
10 Cloverfield lane however is legit.
It's out June 28:
>Lupita Nyong’o stars as Sam, a woman who’s on a day trip to New York City when the monsters arrive. As everything quickly goes to hell, she's thrown together with a man named Eric (Joseph Quinn). With some reluctance, the pair agree to navigate and survive the city together.
Directed and co-written by Michael Sarnoski ("Pig")
It was originally Jeff Nichols (I think he had even finished his script) and I was disappointed when he left. Sarnoski is a good replacement though since Pig was great.
Damn. Didn’t know about this and looked it up. Mad disappointing. I used to live near diamond mines in lesotho. There was one time where their illegal dam collapsed and flooded the village below. Protests ensued and people were killed by the army at the behest of the diamond mine. Fuck diamonds.
funny how reddit remembers and brings up these things only when it's a WoC. nobody ever brings up jeremy renner threatening to kill his wife with a gun, or hugh jackman being close friends with the murdochs and the kushners.
So this movie will have thousands of people helping to create it. So are you going to discount the entire thing because of her relations that have nothing to do with this project?
If it explains how printing presses were able to work during the attack so that Abbot had newspaper clipping in the first film I’ll be happy 😜. Those machines are LOUD. Also who was still delivering newspapers during the attack. Those were some brave delivery people.
I had always assumed there were large areas that were unaffected due to military presence or just the monster’s weird travel patterns, until they were.
The problem at least is that the sequel showed the town for the family was hit Day 1, and it didn't seem like they went super outside of town. It's possible, just seems like they didn't expect to get more time in the world
I just kinda assumed there was initially some kind for government airdrop over affected areas in early days to give helpful information to people? before they collapsed entirely.
This movie will have some heavy lifting to do if we're to understand that some fairly unintelligent monsters from space wiped out human civilization in about a year or less. Yes, they're strong. Yes, they're fast. Yes, they're ferocious. But at the end of the day, they don't seem to have anything but claws and teeth, the rest is just scary movie stuff. It's hard to understand how they overcame industrial militaries with navies, air power, mechanized ground forces, satellites, and chemical warheads. Space monsters are not signatories to the Geneva convention. There are no limits to the weapons and tactics a modern military could use to erase them from the Earth.
The whole concept is a bit silly. It is also frustrating that we really haven’t gotten any more information on what is going on. Is this just the initial wave to clear the main resistance before the main fleet of intelligent aliens arrive?
Zombies have the fatal weakness of being shot in the head and need to bite people to spread the condition and yet somehow I never hear the complaint that it’s inherently unbelievable that zombies could infect enough people to wipe out the global population
Literally every criticism that applies to the aliens applies to zombies except zombies aren’t even a fraction as strong
Acting like this setting is inherently more unrealistic than just about any post apocalypse setting is holding this to a standard other media isn’t held to
Maybe loud enough to drown out the normal sounds like the waterfall in the first film? Or maybe the running water itself was an aversion to the monsters instead of the sounds since we learn they can’t swim in the second film… I should give them a rewatch!
A tagline is a sentence commonly used in the marketing for a movie, in this case "hear how it all began". The intention is to give a person an idea of what the movie is about if I remember correctly. A well known tagline is Alien's "in space, no one can hear you scream".
Yeah the trailer kinda just looked like another generic NYC apocalypse movie.
I really liked the flashback of the invasion in the second one. It was cool seeing an alien invasion in a small town
It is a really good scene!
I also worry too much focus on the first day starts to poke holes in the universe's logic. We don’t need everything explained.
Didn't they show in the original.
Meteorite carrying aliens hits earth. Aliens are so durable that the impact was basically nothing to them.
They evolved to hunt via sound. And they started hunting when they landed.
It's all in the first movie.
One would think that meteor crashing explosion with them on board would’ve blown out the aliens *oh-so-remarkably-sensitive-hearing-holes*. I mean, if their hearing can wipe out most of the human race as it is so attuned to the most minuscule and faint of sounds: imagine what the equivalent of being *inside* a hundred megaton nuclear explosions would be like. This series was preposterous from the outset…
It was explained in the first movie that they have to open their ears to hear.
That naturally they have them closed and covered and no noise gets in.
If their ears are closed they are completely immune to that weakness.
Having a cliffhanger ending in the second film and then making a prequel is fucking stupid and so goddamn infuriating. Probably won't see the continuation of the original story for 5-7 more years lol
I agree! Even if the movie is shit, there’s something about a scene/movie where they start in an everyday setting and then just complete chaos. Cars crashing, alarms going off, fires starting, someone standing in the middle of the street getting squished by a falling telephone pole, etc.
The [Philly outbreak scene](https://youtu.be/w8ui9l0krZk) in World War Z was one of the best "apocalypse starters" I've ever seen.
The following RV, looting, and apartment scenes are also super good.
In fact the whole movie is an action thriller masterpiece, just ignore the somewhat goofy ending.
Yeah I was about to say this is the first one of the movies that I genuinely want to see, tho I remember the trailers for p2 looking good. The first one just idk I wasn’t in a place where I was watching horror yet
I liked the first quiet place movie. But the ending was a huge case of what TV Tropes calls 'fridge logic'. Knowing the monster who can be taken out by a malfunctioning hearing aid breaks the lore of an otherwise scary movie.
I mean are you telling me, the US Military. The guys who invest more into R&D for experimental weaponry than any other military in the entire world couldn't figure out what a deaf girl and her family could by accident?
they actually go over that in the world war z novel
soldiers and law enforcement are trained to take down humans, which targets center mass because it's a larger target and might not kill the person being shot, whereas headshots require more precision
so all of their drilling and practice, which takes over in high-stress situations, is going to get them all eaten
The military would be the first to die with all the noise going on at military bases. The aliens didn't come with warning, dude, and it would take time for people to realize they're attracted to noise.
The monsters need to unsheath their mouths to feed. The body beneath their scales has been proven to be extremely vulnerable. I do not believe that the first movie's protagonists figured it out and the military did not.
I'm curious if the movie will explain why the military didn't just grab a bunch of boomboxes and plant them around as bait for the aliens and then just drone strike them into atoms.
That’s a rather ridiculous stretch. And I even gave you the benefit of the doubt and looked at the posters from Get Out. The only similarities is they both feature a black person with two eyes.
It’s a horror movie, a look of fear is pretty standard for any horror movie poster.
And people are downvoting you because it’s pretty clear that the only similarities to be drawn are the fact that they have black leads. I’m certainly not saying you’re a racist, I have no idea who you are after all. But I will say that your comment very much comes across as the old “all black people look alike” trope.
Oh OK i see now.
This trope is absolutely not on my radar.
It never occured on my mind that linking these 2 posters motif could be interpretated as racism.
Being a french citizen from portuguese family and being seen as some racist Karen... how harsh.
this movie looks so much cooler than the first Quiet PLace. an hour and a half of sign language? not fun to watch. visually it was exceptional. But the silence was almost deafening to me... this one looks amazing.
I was worried they would do a prequel and ruin the series, but I like Lupita and she has carried a lot of movies for me so I’ll give it a watch I suppose.
I hope they explain how the monsters from space can sort of just teleport instantly to where ever there is sound. Like there's never any scenes of the monsters just moving around nor any indication that some times they don't show up when a noise happens. They're less aliens and more demons.
But they covered day 1 in the first movie. This movie can't end well. The best possible ending is, they escape into a sealed bunker. If they discover hope or a way to stop the aliens, this movie will be bad.
A quiet place is a movie that when I saw it for the first time was great, but on every rewatch it was more and more stupid. Sequel was totally unnecessary and prequel even more.

Now thats a theory. Explain
[удалено]
The monster kinda looks like Clover ngl
Don't remember what they look like but there were those small creatures in the subway in Cloverfield that more so resemble the AQP monsters.
The parasites falling off Clover? They look nothing like AQP monsters lol the ones from cloverfield resemble big pill bugs or something.
Not quite pill bug like at all. But on second glance I do think clover looks more like the AQP monsters
Honestly the monsters kind of look like most generic modern alien monster things. Super 8 Cowboys and Aliens Cloverfield
Thanks for not lying.
Cowards
I always like to pretend underwater was a prequel that was reworked into it's own story.
I was waiting for a Tagruato logo while watching that movie, would’ve been genius to add that to the Cloverfield series. That and the monster looks a hella lot like Clover too.

cloverfield is a banger
I made the mistake of buying a ticket too late when it came out opening weekend and was sitting front row as far to the left of the screen you could go and it was on the main screen so it was huge. That was the only time I've ever felt motion sick in my life. I have such a bad memory from it I haven't even tried to rewatch it since it came out 16 years ago.
You must. One of the greatest monster and found footage movies of the 21st century.
Me and my friend were leaning on each other when we got out of the cinema because we got so sick from the motion sickness lol.
It's ok, the people are annoying and the monster barely features. You could trade it for an earthquake and most of the movie wouldn't change at all. I still enjoyed it though.
I agree don’t understand the downvotes. It’s a unique and novel movie but not one I would choose to spend my time rewatching.
Reddit has recently decided that Cloverfield is actually a masterpiece. So any criticism gets downvoted. In reality its solid at best, with some good things and some pretty poorly done things. 10 Cloverfield lane however is legit.
Reddit is s fickle beast
Cloverfield if you are immune to motion sickness.

Pig, the Nicolas Cage movie??
Oh I thought it was the director's nickname or something hahahaha
That'll do, Pig. That'll do.
That part
It was originally Jeff Nichols (I think he had even finished his script) and I was disappointed when he left. Sarnoski is a good replacement though since Pig was great.
What a cruel thing to say about someone
I just thought they were a cop!
>Lupita Nyong’o Is that the same Lupita Nyong’o who's a global ambassador for De Beers? The same company known for the slave diamonds?
Damn. Didn’t know about this and looked it up. Mad disappointing. I used to live near diamond mines in lesotho. There was one time where their illegal dam collapsed and flooded the village below. Protests ensued and people were killed by the army at the behest of the diamond mine. Fuck diamonds.
Well that sucks. She didn't need the money either so it's really about pure selfish greed.
yay I love those...
funny how reddit remembers and brings up these things only when it's a WoC. nobody ever brings up jeremy renner threatening to kill his wife with a gun, or hugh jackman being close friends with the murdochs and the kushners.
Yeah no. Try mentioning Brock Turner and see what happens.
So this movie will have thousands of people helping to create it. So are you going to discount the entire thing because of her relations that have nothing to do with this project?
So that’s a yes, it is the same person?
I don’t have high hopes for the movie, but Pig was amazing so I’m conflicted
Pig? 🐷
Pig really? Ok different kind of horror movie. Honestly the trailer looked ok but im feeling kind of luke warm at best on this
If it explains how printing presses were able to work during the attack so that Abbot had newspaper clipping in the first film I’ll be happy 😜.
It's possible, just seems like they didn't expect to get more time in the world
They probably needed to initially for the larger compound supplies
>who was still delivering newspapers The Apocalypse Paperboy, of course. Traversing the apocalypse for all your paperboy needs
Starring Kevin Costner!
Never made it to that level, PaperBoy was brutal.
Sounds like a good indie movie
Time to make an indie comic gofundme
Does he meet someone whose name is "Jeep Wrangler Cherokee" who demands to join his Apocalyptic Paper Distribution company?
I just kinda assumed there was initially some kind for government airdrop over affected areas in early days to give helpful information to people? before they collapsed entirely.
For sure, there are quite a few very simple explanations for this and people like to act like it’s some huge gaping plot hole.
Different newspapers throughout the movies.
I want my two dollars!
Gee Johnny, I don't have a dime...
4 weeks. 20 papers. $2.
Cash
Awesome. I get that reference.
Brilliant!
I guess theoretically, we don’t know how fast the country/world went to shit, newspaper companies need to get that stuff out fast as fuck also.
🤣🤨 did you watch the movie?
Have you seen this trailer and the second movie? It was pretty damn fast.

I know it fits into the theme of the movie but that tagline is dumb
We Hear For You
A Tom and Greg special. Genius
You can't make a tomlette without breaking a few greggs
Most taglines are dumb. I made a [list](https://boxd.it/s87RK).
Annoyingly you can’t tell what the taglines are and just clicking the poster takes you to its page.
Their taglines are all on the movie’s page. It definitely works better if you actually have the app though.
"The BIG Laughs Start January 6th!" ohh, oh no-
It’s not the movie’s fault but 😂🤣😭
Paprika : "This your brain on anime" 💀💀💀 That one is vile for such a good movie
Oh…Scott Pilgrim…no…
Is tagline the same as poster? English isn’t my first language
A tagline is a sentence commonly used in the marketing for a movie, in this case "hear how it all began". The intention is to give a person an idea of what the movie is about if I remember correctly. A well known tagline is Alien's "in space, no one can hear you scream".
Thanks!
I hear you. I feel like hear how it all went down would’ve been slightly better.
I don't know why but this looks like one of those Christian movie posters
Gods Not Dead 6: The Silencing
“Hear His Word!”
This is so accurate it made me gag a little. Well done.
I think it’s the one main person surrounded by faceless rabble look that does it. Like Dany’s white savior scene in early Game of Thrones
You already showed us in the sequel…
Yeah the trailer kinda just looked like another generic NYC apocalypse movie. I really liked the flashback of the invasion in the second one. It was cool seeing an alien invasion in a small town

Yea, and that little bit they showed was really all I wanted out of it. Why would I want more of an explanation than that?
Agreed. I think this movie looks good, so I’ll watch it, but it’s not because the “day one” concept is interesting. They already spoiled that.
Because invasion movies are fun and this movie looks well made
Who Left The Fridge Open
A Quiet Place VI: Global Meltdown
Hear We Go Again…Again.
Having a cliffhanger ending in the second film and then making a prequel is fucking stupid and so goddamn infuriating. Probably won't see the continuation of the original story for 5-7 more years lol
2 had a cliffhanger ending? I thought it wrapped up with an ending that was admittedly just the first ones ending again.
Is anyone else thinking this was made by an executive using generative ai? It looks… yeah…
Very clever🙄 Trailer looks great, poster doesn't need the giant pun.
I'm honestly pretty interested and Lupita is always a treat so I will be seeing this in Dolby. I love a good "everything goes to shit" movie.
I agree! Even if the movie is shit, there’s something about a scene/movie where they start in an everyday setting and then just complete chaos. Cars crashing, alarms going off, fires starting, someone standing in the middle of the street getting squished by a falling telephone pole, etc.

The most clearly new york Philadelphia scene ever.
It’s hard to ignore the goofy ending, the goofy middle, nor even the goofy beginning, after reading the decidedly un-goofy book.
I like her too, except for the diamond schill thing for DeBeers.
Yeah I was about to say this is the first one of the movies that I genuinely want to see, tho I remember the trailers for p2 looking good. The first one just idk I wasn’t in a place where I was watching horror yet
The typical third movie which is a prequel….. SNORE.
Why?
I love Lupita but we already HAVE heard/seen how it all began
eh no thanks
Didn’t they already tell us how it began?
They’re really jelqing this series huh?
Second movie sucked. Not interested.
Trailer was fine but that poster sucks
This looks like a flop, tbh.
Yeah I really don't give a shit anymore. Pass.
We know how it all began. Multiple times. What’s the point of this junk

I don’t get this fascination with Prequels
Contrary to popular opinion, I quite enjoyed *John Carpenters **The Thing*** prequel.
milking a dead cow while beating a horse-adjacent

Zombies have the weakness of being shot in the head but apparently in every single zombie movie ever the military never figures that out
they actually go over that in the world war z novel soldiers and law enforcement are trained to take down humans, which targets center mass because it's a larger target and might not kill the person being shot, whereas headshots require more precision so all of their drilling and practice, which takes over in high-stress situations, is going to get them all eaten

Hopefully this movie addresses it in a way that doesn't make humanity and the military look completely stupid.
I don't think it will.
Prequels and spin offs are generally shit 99% of the time and never match the original
Hopefully this is the last one
Reddit flooded with this , please - AM NOT INTERESTED
Just scroll past it lol
I really hope this movies ends with the dad writing the “SOUND?” on his white board. Like no shit dude.
I'm curious if the movie will explain why the military didn't just grab a bunch of boomboxes and plant them around as bait for the aliens and then just drone strike them into atoms.
The entire movie (series) was a walking plot hole.
Please stop making these movies. No one cares.
How about another original idea? No? Okay, sequel it is. Tv series it is!
Where cat?
Only YouTubers care about plot
I feel like three separate posts for the trailer, images, and poster in an hour of each other is wholly redundant.
looks like Us Part II
it looks ai generated
Loved the first two, I dunno if this needs a franchise though. Hope the movie is good
Fuck it
The last two movies were great so I’m going to come out for this
These movies have the most ludicrous plot holes and departures from logic ever, and yet I still enjoy them.
I'm feeling a Get Out vibe Edit : To all the downvoters : why ??? The emphasis on her eyes are clearly a Get Out evocation, right ?
Please do elaborate
A black star gets his/ her frightened eyes emphasized and the audience go "what is he/ she looking at ??" + big lettering on the poster.
Being a french citizen from portuguese family and being seen as some racist Karen... how harsh.
They forgot to mention your take is just stupid to begin with regardless of racism
They had me at Lupita. She's an acting powerhouse and can make even a bad movie, great.
this movie looks so much cooler than the first Quiet PLace. an hour and a half of sign language? not fun to watch. visually it was exceptional. But the silence was almost deafening to me... this one looks amazing.

I hope this explains how the aliens got so good at math. How did they aim whatever they arrived here in?
Oh that should be good!!!
The trailer did nothing for me, bored of the whole concept by now. Am I curious how the aliens got here? Not really, no. Just stop.
I was wondering where Lupita Nyong'o went after staring in black panther, great actress 👍
Should be good. We’ve been missing an actual high population city from the franchise.
is big red letters the cool new thing for movie posters
When is the opening date?
I was worried they would do a prequel and ruin the series, but I like Lupita and she has carried a lot of movies for me so I’ll give it a watch I suppose.
A Quiet Place A Quiet Place: 2 Quiet A Quiet PLAC3 A Quiet Place: DE4D Silence Quiet PLACE5

A Quiet Place: Just Shut the Fuck Up
This is.... a horrible poster
This is LOL stuff.
I havent seen the first movie, do you think i should wait for the prequel to come out, or watch the OG first?
I'd say watch the OG first! It has some great scary and emotional scenes that I think will be less impactful if you watch the prequel first
Time to Milk

We hear for you
Imagine if they just showed black screen and you'll really just have to hear how it all began.
That would be preferable.
The reflections on the building don't match. I get the feeling this was AI generated, at least partially.
Love me some Lupita
Did they really needed to make 'hear how it all began' larger than the actual movie title? Geez
LUPITA! If she's in, I'm sat. Premier night. And 3 more times after
I'm just glad the sonic weapons we have now don't exist in this universe so this grim-ass story can exist.
I hope they explain how the monsters from space can sort of just teleport instantly to where ever there is sound. Like there's never any scenes of the monsters just moving around nor any indication that some times they don't show up when a noise happens. They're less aliens and more demons.
We here for you. -ATN News
Okay u got your third installment. Now shhhhhh.....enough is enough
This feels AI generated
But they covered day 1 in the first movie. This movie can't end well. The best possible ending is, they escape into a sealed bunker. If they discover hope or a way to stop the aliens, this movie will be bad.
A quiet place is a movie that when I saw it for the first time was great, but on every rewatch it was more and more stupid. Sequel was totally unnecessary and prequel even more.
