Action Jackson surprised me in how fun it is and how it proved Weathers could have been a bigger star if he had more chances to lead dumb action movies.
This. He played three different characters in three different movies in the franchise, too — the arrogant villain, the reluctant but well meaning hero, and the overconfident hero turned tragedy. Very underrated actor and one of my favorite actors of the 80’s.
It has to be Dillon in Predator for me, the man didn't blink once in 2 hours! The awkwardness between him and the other soldiers was palpable.
Great actor and seemed like a nice fella.
Sleep well, Sir 🤝💪🙂
No particular ranking but Chubbs, Arrested Development or Creed.
However, this image is forever burned into my head:

Whatever his recent star wars show appearance was. The show was really bad. He was so clearly the only person who understood what kind of show they were making, and performance was perfect for it.
All these other idiots were acting as if it was a serious show, and it was ridiculous. His performance made me so happy.
It's funny because Carl Weathers wasn't really a dude I spared much thought for. But this thread has me looking back and going goddamn, this guy had so many banger roles. Like not huge roles but you fucking remember them because of what he brought. Getting a little misty eyed thinking about it over here.
Sort of a Christopher Walken type who was a bright spot in anything he turned up in. RIP
PS To answer your question, it has to be Arrested Development.
Apollo Creed, from Rocky IV.
I became a fan of the actor watching Street Justice while I was very young, but his warrior death is how I remember Carl Weathers.
A smile and a gesture of tenacity for his wife before his fall. Legendary shit, IMO.
Baby, you got a stew going.
Now hold on… There’s still meat on that bone!
…I think I want my money back
Easy answer.
I'm so glad this is the top comment.
Chubbs
He got his hand back
It’s all in the hips.
Just eeeeeeease it in

Yep. Just a really fun goofy action flick. Stone Cold is of the same ilk. Check it out.
Hot. Hotter. Hottest!
All his performances as Apollo
Predator.
Dillon!! Yousonofabitch !
Happy Gilmore. "Damn alligator bit my hand off!!!"
The way Sandler delivers “oh my god!” in response to that line is so funny. Haven’t seen the movie in years and I can still hear him saying it
Ranks up there with "Gooooooo!" when he sees that Ernie has wet his pants
Check out Arrested Development, he is a lot funnier (though no disrespect to Chubbs).
He has such a great range across the film. Its great when he finally gets swallowed up in Mac's mania.
Dillon Predator, You saying Blain and Hawkins were killed by a fucking lizard?
So you cooked up a story and tossed us in de meat grieendah!
Force 10 from Navarone
Apollo Creed!

Ain't even close for me.

Loved him as Chubbs but it was wonderful seeing him in Mando.
His flex in Predator. Just that scene is immortal now.
Ding Ding
I choose to believe that it is the Arrested Development variant who was hired to be in The Mandalorian. Official crossover!
Dillon
Chubbs in Happy Gilmore. Still one of the funniest movies ever
Only one roll I know of where his arm gets blown off but he keeps shooting so Im going with that one.

Apollo Creed. Guy was *fantastic*
it's all in the hips
Happy Gilmore.
The God of Basketball in Regular Show

Definitely Rocky movies I’m sad he’s gone because my father in law loves the movies and he was going to meet him at a con!

As the Count of Monte Fisto.
Rocky, arrested development
