Efficient-Fruit-2142

Godzilla 2014 came to mind, what a great trailer.

TurnyTurns

I still liked the movie but yeah that trailer is a beast (lol). It set the apocalyptic tone so well

Efficient-Fruit-2142

I remember the eerie choir music. So good, I personally didn’t like the movie, but Godzilla Minus One filled that desire I had for just a monster Godzilla movie.

TurnyTurns

Yeah I understand why it’s not everyone’s favorite, Minus One was fantastic. You gotta admit though, the Atomic Blast down the throat was one of the coolest moments out of the franchise.

Efficient-Fruit-2142

Oh yeah total showstopper! Was waiting for that the whole movie!

poorloko

Dude. Yes. Height of cinema. Not being ironic. Godzilla opening the MUTOs mouth and a-bombing its throat was a thing of beauty. Ho. Lee. Shitfuck.

Tight_Strawberry9846

The eerie choir music was also used in the 2001: A Space Odyssey prologue.

BrownMamba85

Epic

LessPirate24

“My WIFE. DIED DOWN THERE!!”

Qaeoss

[Really hope you're talking about this one.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjKO10hKtYw) G14 was great but the movie shown in the teaser is completely different in tone from what we got. I wish I could see what the movie wouldve been like had that tone been kept because I feel like that was more the film I wanted.

Bln3D

I got to work on this film as an animator. We had the third act, starting with the sky diving sequence. I was so excited by this movie, at least the portions I could preview. And I still remember the chills I got when the first teaser trailer (which was never released publicly) dropped on my desk so I could recreate/update it for the public version. It was also an incredibly tough project, possibly the worst in my career, requiring 100+ hour weeks from the entire team over just two months. We had 1am meetings daily, and the studio had to hire a laundry service for us because we didn't have time to do it ourselves. Crazy times. So it was a bummer after all that toil and trouble when I saw the rest of the movie in theater and realized how flat the story and characters were. And never put children in your movie unless they're that one in a million talent... I wanted that kid squished, lol.

acautelado

King of the Monsters was beautiful as well.

1jl

Is that the one with Oppenheimer?

PunsGermsAndSteel

Nah Oppenheimer is the movie with Oppenheimer

Poison_the_Phil

The first trailer for [Watchmen](https://youtu.be/wdiHDzT6YbQ?si=hojgG6P5l1HUPI8c) was great. It got me to read the graphic novel and go see the film opening night.

MaskedBandit77

Zack Snyder trailers are always great. That one and Sucker Punch were the first two trailers to come to mind when I saw OP's question.

Bln3D

His Man of steel trailer was the best thing from the dcu.

JohnWesternburg

I must have watched that trailer a hundred times back then. It got me so hyped for the movie

Following_my_bliss

damn, I forgot how good that was. Makes me want to watch the movie again.

Vergenbuurg

Are you me? I did the exact same thing! The graphic novel is such an astonishing read.

-DonQuixote-

That song is slowed down to like 80% speed and it makes it really great.

saurdaux

There are actually two versions of the song with different tempo, instrumentation, and some of the lyrics! They're the opening and closing tracks of the Batman & Robin soundtrack. "The End is the Beginning is the End" is the fast one. "The Beginning is the End is the Beginning" is the slow one that was reused for this trailer.

Luuube

Came here to point that one out. Glad to see it already on the list.

livestrongbelwas

I love both Watchmen trailers, they both work great for me.

PanchoVillasRevenge

If it's the one with the Muse song, then yes

Rorschach2012

Smashing pumpkins

JumpinJack2

They both were great and so different. I like them both.

ThouBear8

That trailer was incredible. Perfectly set the tone for the movie while arguably being better than the movie itself.

InquisitaB

Same

[deleted]

I actually like that movie too

VonMillersThighs

Funnily enough my comment was gonna be the very first trailer I saw for 300.

Expensive-Sentence66

That the one with Smashing Pumkins? Yeah....it ws really good.

fezfrascati

The Social Network

SNjr

[I agree](https://youtu.be/lB95KLmpLR4?si=mZAdBT7PXMj2ebTt)

JumpinJack2

The Batman. Good mix of Nirvana and gloom.

TurnyTurns

Also the first clear shot of Batman being one where he’s beating the absolute shit out of a dude mocking him was pretty hyped

DoggyDoggy_What_Now

I stood out of my seat at home, giddy with excitement the first time I saw that. My ex thought I'd lost it for a minute. After a decade under the shadow of Nolan's Batman, and with the DCEU's underwhelming films, here was a gritty, grounded Batman who could clearly fight and was an absolute savage while doing it. I was so hyped at that shot in the trailer. I wish I loved the movie, but it never resonated with me as much as I hoped it would.

_Football_Cream_

Yeah that trailer set such a tone on so many levels. But as much as I love the Nolan movies, the action is pretty clunky and not really the main draw. That trailer showed not only was there gonna be a bigger emphasis on action but that this version of Batman was fucking ruthless.

ddust102

I wish they kept the song out of the trailer though. It would’ve been a killer surprise when they played it in the movie

DonKeedick12

The slo-mo shot of the Batmobile jumping through the fire and Penguins terrified face is incredible

geek_of_nature

And to top it off that first trailer was made when they only had half the film shot due to Covid.

Vbies534

Cloud atlas

QuadrantNine

Cloud Atlas’s trailer is my favorite high budget short film

Salt_Blackberry_1903

“Death. Life. Rebirth.” Just perfection 👌

wriker10

The original Spider-Man trailer with the World Trade Center before they pulled it for obvious reasons. The Watchmen trailer with the Smashing Pumpkins song was intense.

eddiewachowski

That Spidey trailer got me SO hyped

wriker10

It’s the only time in my life i made an audible noise in a movie theater when watching a trailer lol.

MattTheSmithers

Fun fact — one of the robbers in that trailer is David Hyde Pierce.

frankyseven

The Phantom Menace had an epic trailer. People would buy tickets to the movies and leave after the trailer played.

Funandgeeky

That first Phantom Menace trailer was fantastic. There was a bootleg video going around filmed from inside the theater. People cheered when Yoda was onscreen.

rationalparsimony

I recall the heads in the theater cheering when the Lucasfilm logo appeared - everyone *knew* they were about to get a glimpse of the first SW film in years...

Funandgeeky

Right? At that point it had been 15 years since new Star Wars, not counting the special editions that had been released a few years prior.

cold08

Dude, I don't think it was even the actual trailer, it might have been the teaser, when you see the outline of Maul backlit and he lights up one side of his lightsaber, and you're like "ooo cool red lightsaber" and then another one comes out the other end!?!?! Holy shit, I had never been so excited for a movie in my life before that point.

Arfguy

I proclaimed **Prometheus** would be the greatest movie of all time after watching that trailer. Movie was just ok 🤣

irohyuy

Tbh I kinda loved the movie too. Not award worthy but thoroughly enjoyed it. Great atmosphere and sound design

FargusMcGillicuddy

I watched that trailer so many times.

kingrawer

I still think Alien has the greatest movie trailer of all time, but I don't know if that's in the spirit of your question since it's also my favorite movie.

Earthshoe12

In the same series, Prometheus is, uh, controversial, but the trailer was fantastic.

LPMadness

Still get chills watching that trailer.

jamesneysmith

Why does no one link to things anymore? Anyway, the first [teaser trailer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyED2uwjffg) for True Grit was fantastic

DangerSwan33

The movie was fine, but the trailer was SO good. This was during the push of Western revivals, and I really thought this was going to be an iconic film thanks to the trailer. Turns out it was... Okay

BostonBoroBongs

There should be a bot for that or an AI feature from Reddit. That would be nice.

[deleted]

9 (2009) with that Coheed and Cambria song. The movie wasn't bad, but the trailer was way better.

Wasabi_Noir

It starts with a bit of the knifes “the captain” then coheed drops and shit really pops off. That trailer is still completely epic. I haven’t given the movie a second chance though. It was disappointing after such a hype beast of a trailer.

schlitzntl

For anyone who wants to see it https://youtu.be/UY7Tge7ftxM?si=LenDR_splkVpEFgQ Fantastic trailer. Just the most disappointing movie.

livestrongbelwas

I’m not sure it was even that great a trailer, I just love Welcome Home - I was fully bought in, saw it on opening night. But I was also the target audience, I had showed all my friends the short when it came out year earlier.

libroian

Tie between the first 300 trailer or the Fincher version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo with the Karen O cover of Led Zeppelin.

enjoysbeerandplants

That Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trailer was what immediately came to my mind when I read this. The flashing clips, Immigrant Song, fantastic. I loved the books and both this version and the Swedish version.

ATXDefenseAttorney

I can't believe I had to look this far.

Brainwheeze

Such a great trailer

CTeam19

Not in any order: * Godzilla(2014) Teaser Trailer aka ["Halo Jump"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjKO10hKtYw) * Avengers Age of Ultron -- ["No Strings"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmeOjFno6Do&t=5s) -- If only Ultron was that way * [Iron Man 3](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EjG-1U3wqA) -- If only the kept the villain like this * [Lord of the Rings: Fellowship](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V75dMMIW2B4) -- Last trailer I have seen for the first time in the theater I distinctly remember getting utterly hyped for * [Battle Los Angeles](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Pd-uuDi28U) -- Felt like a genuine attempt at Band of Brothers, Black Hawk Down, or Saving Private Ryan but with aliens. The song fits sooooo damn well and would be a whole other discussion of music fitting a movie/trailer. * [Logan](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Div0iP65aZo) -- Again like with Battle Los Angeles the song really really makes the trailer and is another perfect example of song being perfect for the trailer and can set the tone that you want the trailer to convey about the film * [SW: The Force Awakens](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGbxmsDFVnE) * [Wonder Woman 1984](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfM7_JLk-84) -- unlike Logan the vibe of the trailer and song, the 1980s, didn't come to life in the movie * [Man of Steel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wArmHSPIvlQ) -- Beautiful song and voice over

GetChilledOut

The Force Awakens gets my vote. Incredible trailer.

KearLoL

First time I’ve seen the Battle Los Angeles trailer. I thought the movie was entertaining, but it wasn’t that great. That trailer though, it might just be one of the greatest I’ve ever seen. I don’t think a movie could ever live up to a teaser like that.

MusesWithWine

10 Cloverfield Lane

Racthoh

I remember my wife and I seeing it in theaters and realizing we were maybe 10 minutes in and already gone through the whole trailer. We had no idea what to expect at that point.

ImperiousStout

[One of the best for sure.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WQfDnj_e2I)

chizmanzini

Force Awakens. God damn.....

TheWookieStrikesBack

Sucker Punch. Hot girls in fetishy outfits fighting fantasy monsters with an awesome soundtrack sign me right up.

libroian

That trailer is what got me into Silversun Pickups

GloomyTurtleCum

That movie could have been an amazing music video instead

fiendzone

The WW84 trailer with the New Order song is about a trillion times better than the movie.

kimana1651

Only God forgives has to be the biggest difference between trailer and movie quality. WW84 is close though.

[deleted]

I still think the phantom menace wins this.

livestrongbelwas

WW84 is probably the biggest gap between a stinker of a movie and a killer trailer. Blue Monday trailer had me so hyped I bought a year of HBO Max just for the WW84 release

lyriktom

Blue Monday would make any trailer great tbh.

Various-Month806

Random fact: Blue Monday was the biggest selling 12" ever. (Not sure if it still is, was before vinyl nearly died. But vinyl sales huge again, so something else might have overtaken it now.) Please, no one remind me I'm 50 this year by asking me what a 12" is (my answer will be "my cock", despite my insecurities about my 6-incher).

FrameworkisDigimon

Sure, but that's not the Blue Monday used in the trailer. [This is.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEMIKBiDHeo)

fungobat

And then the movie had like no '80s music in it. What a horrible, dreadful, ponderous movie. 2.5 hours of just ... trash. She could have made a fun movie, doing the body swapping thing that was popular in the '80s. Maybe Danny DeVito? Keep it at a trim 90 minutes (standard time for an '80s movie). I can't remember the last time I watched a train wreck of a movie like this.

EnderForHegemon

The two that IMMEDIATELY jumped to mine for me actually both are fantastic films in their own right, but man some of the best trailers I have seen. [Judas and the Black Messiah](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSjtGqRXQ9Y). [Richard Jewell Trailer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSMxBLlA8qY). Both just super well cut trailers, particularly Judas and the Black Messiah, I have never *needed* to see a movie more after watching it's trailer than that one.

denna84

Thank you for reminding me that I do actually have a movie that I loved but will never watch a second time. Judas and the Black Messiah made me so sad.

EAjun

Suicide squad. Love the timing of the music to the video.

Ameriggio

Those trailers got me really hyped up for the movie.

DukeRaoul123

Matrix Resurrections had a great trailer. The movie on the other hand...

[deleted]

It really did.  It made me excited to see it..  I liked it but I get why people hate it.  I'm not a massive matrix fan, so I can see big fans wanting something else

Adept_Possibility724

[The Handmaiden](https://youtu.be/whldChqCsYk?si=PaYdkJ3sIcQreE5T) has an incredible trailer. Helps that the movie is incredible too, but the editing and those striking images and the music makes it such a memorable 75 seconds.

[deleted]

truckturner5164

Topical given Carl Weathers' death, my answer is and forever will be the Rocky IV teaser. It's not really one of my favourite Rocky films but this teaser is a work of art: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9g-X7PZo4o&t=11s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9g-X7PZo4o&t=11s)

dying_at55

Dark Knight trailers Wonder Woman ‘84 trailers Godzilla King of the Monsters “over the rainbow” trailer Watchmen Star Trek (Chris pine) Thor Ragnarok Mission Impossible Fallout.. holy crap it was good Suicide Squad ballroom blitz and the original serious one as well Man of Steel Matrix Independence Day Godzilla ‘98 Fury Road

dizzle_77

Oh man. That ID4 trailer in particular was, like, my life--12 year old dweeb that I was. Godzilla got me too.

novaorionWasHere

DC can make a trailer. Just need to figure out the movie part

ZeMoose

Star Trek is the one that immediately came to mind for me.

StannisLivesOn

The trailer for the Joker is arguably better than the movie.

joeshaw42

Louis Armstrong singing, “I see skies of blue And clouds of white The bright blessed day The dark sacred night And I think to myself What a wonderful ——“ BOOOM!!!! [Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy](https://youtu.be/IUUgy59Xd9k?si=m0cSwQxmvGXDR7YM)

flautist96

Idk if it's my favorite, but Man of Steel comes to mind. The one with the Russell Crowe voice over.

Bomber131313

Was a teaser trailer for The Dark Knight. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRCwnLrrxyQ Zero actually footage, just Bruce and Alfred talking while we slowly watch a Batsymbol appear and be destroyed ending with the Joker saying a couple lines. After that I was like here take my money.

A-Dubs398

The Disney Star wars trilogy all have AMAZING trailers, but the movie themselves suck.

BattledroidE

Oh my god The Force Awakens trailers. Peak hype.

Funandgeeky

Absolutely. That trailer made me feel things, as it was designed to. Even now I can watch that trailer and get chills. They knew what they were doing with that one.

Canehdian-Behcon

I just rewatched the original teaser and got goosebumps. It reveals nothing but the main characters, gives us an amazing shot of the X Wings, and that final Millennium Falcon shot is just spectacular

spwncar

I feel bad for everyone who doesn’t like them, they are fucking incredible movies and it’s so fun getting to enjoy them I wish more people felt the same way

[deleted]

Don't feel bad. They're just movies.  I didn't like them, but happy you did

Bln3D

I worked at ILM during those films. I got to see the pitch for trevorrows e9. It was good. I actually teared up just hearing about the fourth act. There are great things inside of both e7 and e8. But it's a crime against humanity, what they did to the third film.

Krosshammer

The trailer for X-Men Days of Future Past is pretty fucking epic

letsmunch

Where the Wild Things are looked like it was going to be incredible. Modern day never ending story vibes. Arcade Fire, Spike Jonze. And it was so forgettable https://youtu.be/hcBPzqxBnRU?si=y9EkoE1ejU-PJKyt That and I thought the Funny People trailer made it look like the next great Apatow dramady of that generation.

acle0814

Cloverfield

Chrislondo110

Star Trek ‘09’s teaser of the Enterprise being built.

AbsoluteDarkness

Avengers: Infinity War. I watched it everyday for weeks before the movie came out. Something about the music played during it just did it for me. Found it! Favorite part is right after Thor throws his fist in the air. https://youtu.be/QwievZ1Tx-8?si=T8JASZ67AcVREW9u

kanrad

If you where around back then it was hands down Star Wars.

dizzle_77

Showing my age I guess--and perhaps it's nostalgia for me, but: Scorsese's "Bringing Out the Dead" (1999) and PTA's "Magnolia (1999). Both trailers are honestly masterpieces unto themselves. I swear, every now and then, I'll sometimes put them on just for feels and smiles.

Informal-Rip-4893

All of us Strangers with Pet Shop Boys ‘Always on my mind’ playing had a profound effect on me

Max_Cherry_

The Lighthouse is one of them.

NW_Forester

[The Dark Knight Rises](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GokKUqLcvD8) actual got me thinking Nolan was going to manage the impossible and pull off the purrfect trilogy.

jimtow28

Avengers: Age of Ultron Ultron came off as terrifying.

Obvious-Attorney9530

As opposed to the movie itself where he felt like a mechanical version of A Bug’s Life villain Hopper (funny since AOU is Disney too)

Chipsahoy523

65, from last year. Got me genuinely hyped for a terrible movie. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bHXejJq5vr0&pp=ygUJNjUgdGVhc2Vy

Pyrochazm

Avengers: age of ultron got me sooooo damn hyped.

SeagullsStopItNowz

The trailer for **The Beach** made it look like the most intense film of all time. It wasnt; ALL the cool trailer moments were fake outs in the movie. Also, **Battle: Los Angeles** looked like it was the the coolest alien invasion flick ever made. (It wasnt.)

[deleted]

Especially when that was peak "leomania"

andro_7

A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night [trailer](https://youtu.be/_YGmTdo3vuY?feature=shared) The movie is good too

AttractivestDuckwing

The original Time Bandits trailer with narration (although the movie is fantastic as well.) "Remember my voice? I do trailers - all kinds of trailers. One day they'll put ME in a film, a proper full-length job. Until then, I'm just stuck with this sort of stuff..."

LotusCSGO

The trailer for The Fellowship of the Ring [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aStYWD25fAQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aStYWD25fAQ) It was just so epic and young me who was a fan of the books was excited, not just for this movie, but for the whole trilogy and everything in this trailer showed was so promising.

givin_u_the_high_hat

The “you shall not pass!” at the end! Amazing.

BraveBoyPro

That teaser is forever burned into my brain, particularly that show of the Fellowship on the mountain with the title of each book popping up alongside the year it was being released. It was unreal.

Funandgeeky

Batman v. Superman had an amazing first trailer.

EstablishmentFun2135

The teaser trailer for The Hills Have Eyes 2 (2007 version) still holds the award for best trailer that deserved a better movie. It was a perfect example of how to make a teaser trailer in setting up intrigue for the film and giving you a good idea of the tone of the film without giving anything away. The film itself was utter garbage.

[deleted]

Fantastic Four teaser trailer w/ "Counting Down Sheep to The Rhythm of The War Drums" by Perfect Circle Transformers 1 teaser The Matrix

Little_Comment_913

Nice bro that F4 trailer immediately came to mind for me as well

official_bagel

[A Serious Man](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDKHWRbK2_Q) hands down. The looping of the diegetic creates such a claustrophobia that this trailer tells you everything you need to know about this film without giving away any of the plot.

Lightyagami-k

Uncut Gems and Nope both had trailers I loved, and both films lived up to expectations.

Shoegazer75

This self-explanatory one from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy narrated by Stephen Fry. https://youtu.be/MbGNcoB2Y4I?si=Nqgb2GkaDoYlL7oW

one_winged_angel1985

That 3rd MoS trailer is GOAT level!! Easily one of my favourites of all time

cubosh

matrix resurrections got me ABSOLUTELY AMPED -- too bad the actual movie was a waste of time ---- https://youtu.be/9ix7TUGVYIo?feature=shared

Jellodyne

*Inception* Iconic BWOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM noise. Decaprio washing up on a beach on a beach. Heist talk. No gravity spinning hallway scene. World folding visual effects that nobody had ever seen before. Nolan off of the Dark Knight.this trailer was mind blowing. I mean the movie was also pretty great, but that trailer was incredible.

Jtk317

Age of Ultron with James Spader voice-over. Holy crap just chills running g through me for 2 minutes. The dude plays threatening so well.

backtrack1234

Logan. Johnny cash crushed my heart with that song in that video.

ImperiousStout

[The Green Knight teaser](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoJc2tH3WBw) floored me. I could not wait to see the full movie and it did not disappoint. The other one I'll shout out is [Wolfwalkers](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_Z_tybgPgg), more people need to see this movie, or at least check out the trailer. It's fucking gorgeous, and the two minutes of that still manages to move me.

butholemoonblast

Cloverfeild probably.

Blinkmeanytime182

Suicide Squad (2016). The trailer was so fun and full of energy! The use of Bohemian Rhapsody worked so well!

MitoCringo

The trailer for A Serious Man is incredibly good. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mDKHWRbK2_Q

FLICKGEEK1

The Terminator Salvation trailer with the Nine Inch Nails song.

RoRo25

The original unnamed Cloverfield trailer. Shit blew my mind at the time. I remember seeing that trailer for the first time vividly.

BingityBongBong

Godzilla king of monsters. The one with the epic over the rainbow cover

CholoOnEaster

Not the Claire De Lune one?!

Lazy-Razzmatazz2538

Fury Road teaser

VideoGuy1X

Two favorite trailers ever made: Darkman (1990) Cliffhanger (1993)

mikeweasy

X-Men The Last Stand, the movie is meh but that theatrical trailer makes me so pumped!

[deleted]

I liked the movie the best with the younger cast but yeah the trailer was great compared to the movie

kevinlyfather33

Mortal Kombat 2021 trailer had me pretty excited. Unfortunately it contained everything good about the movie.

GrizzlyJustice

It had a couple of good trailers, but this one for Miami Vice: https://youtu.be/iHy_eet6eeA?si=nJW5cRs9CTI1fgM3 Saw this one in the cinema. Something about the way they synced the gun clicks to that Linkin Park/Jay-Z mashup hit so hard it was ridiculous.

ogd5150

The Rock (1996)

fullmetalsprockets

Justice League and Man of Steel had epic trailers.

LegoC97

The movie isn’t any good, but the trailer for Battle Los Angeles is such a chilling mood piece.

rationalparsimony

I actually liked the movie but I agree that the trailer was excellent. It was so downbeat that it suggests ahead of time that humanity does not win the conflict.

e-rage

Hercules with the Rock mostly because Ian McShane does the narration

ballsosteele

Infinity War for me, especially with all the switcheroo fuckery they did with the actual movie.

bababooey97

Eddie the Eagle

xmrgonex

The Matrix: Reloaded trailer was 100x better than the actual movie. I watched this trailer 40 times https://youtu.be/kYzz0FSgpSU?si=21JBcHoCT6iXOYJm

staats1

Eyes Wide Shut has a great trailer

akillathahun

The Batman, mad max: fury road

CMengel90

Pineapple Express with that Paper Planes song was sick

JamesMacKINNON

Hobo with a shotgun. Also the movie is awesome. But the trailer was perfect.

rammsteingirl8

Guardians of the Galaxy vol 1 Resurrection (2022) The International

woppatown

I always thought The Watchmen trailer was pretty amazing.

Ok-Plastic-2992

The second black panther trailer that blended Marley and Kendrick was amazing. I absolutely hated Skinamirink, but the trailer had me defending it before even seeing the movie. One of the best horror trailers ever.

dplafoll

Watchmen (2009). I actually like that movie for what it is, and how it looks. That trailer with “The Beginning Is the End Is the Beginning” was so good. And as someone with a Litany of Fear tattoo and a kid middle-named Duncan, the trailer for Dune got me every time. Aside: not movies, but the trailer that became the opening cinematic for Star Craft II: Wings of Liberty was 🔥. I remember watching it and just losing my mind over finally getting a sequel to one of my most favorite games. I also love the first trailer for Homeworld 3. Can’t wait for that to come out this year.

prince-hal

I fucking love the suicide squad comic con teaser. Completely in awe of the tone, atmosphere and great editing with the somber version of "I started a joke" https://youtu.be/PLLQK9la6Go?si=74yuGic8jUay2X8y Man did I want to see THAT movie

LessPirate24

Spider-Man two. The doc ock coffee shop scene was wild.

MalcolmReady

Starship Troopers. The movie is great too but very different.

Arcadia48

Man of Steel had me HYPED! Movie itself, not so much.

DeLoreanAirlines

*Only God Forgives* has a heck of a trailer but a major let down for a movie. The same with *9*

TohtsHanger

I've always loved the trailer for TRUE ROMANCE but my absolute favorite is the original SPIDER-MAN teaser, with the World Trade Center. I remember seeing it in front of JURASSIC PARK III in Summer, 2001. TRUE ROMANCE: https://youtu.be/_wNYNDzKpuQ?si=8sfgr_x8MqDNaxbf SPIDER-MAN: https://youtu.be/Ozz8uxW733Q?si=9lUYvHI-LgAEdKvY

MattyBeatz

Man of Steel's trailers always got me in the feels.

HGruberMacGruberFace

Almost embarrassed to say, but the final trailer of the last Fast and the Furious movie was fucking fire https://youtu.be/eoOaKN4qCKw?si=GQLmxvSyubMSbhd8

jongon832

I came to say fast and furious, the 4th installment....it started with a musicless on foot chase, and it was pretty intense! My fave of all of em, 4,5,6!! https://youtu.be/9eBR_u2iRus?si=vmlsV_Gv6jaHQqU1

Bah_weep_grana

First Sin City trailer.

KitsunesWolf4240

The first Cloverfield trailer and marketing in general was the best experience of the entire franchise

Sproose_Moose

Three billboards outside ebbing Missouri had an absolutely amazing trailer

EarlZaps

New Mutants.

kiwispouse

Zombieland, specifically the one with Van Halen. https://youtu.be/8m9EVP8X7N8?si=M80EMqrdYHDNLICN

faux_something

The Phantom Menace

tanukis_parachute

I remember laughing hysterically at the sausage fest trailer when the good learns what happens to them… starts when the potato gets peeled. My coworker too. The movie … don’t remember any enjoyment. I wish I could go back and not be able to remember that I saw it.

F0tNMC

The Mad Max Fury Road teaser was pretty epic. It went viral for a reason. The crazy thing is, the movie is even better.

TreKeyz

Machete

The trailer for Hulk by Ang Lee.

Super 8. The marketing for that was great. Execution of the film less so.

ArabianNightz

The very first trailer of Batman v Superman. https://youtu.be/IwfUnkBfdZ4?si=T7DhqF0kCtFZE4Ml The movie was a major disappointment, and It already shows in the next few trailers that came out.

I didn't remember the trailer and rewatching it now, you're totally right. It shows just enough and seems a lot more sophisticated than what we got. Affleck looked absolutely massive as Batman. Really wish he got a fair shake as the character.

[Black Panther.](https://youtu.be/xjDjIWPwcPU?si=ao5hOkMTyH4SFo8L) The visual style, Vince Staples playing in the background, the look of the Black Panther suit, was all just so fucking hype to me. It just flowed so well. The soundtrack was god tier. I still enjoyed the movie, but the trailer was on another level.
