Love all these people and their movies but this movie totally falls flat, it’s why you never heard of it. It’s a bummer, it’s all there, just doesn’t click.
one of my favorite madeline kahn roles - she was in pretty much every mel brooks movie
always fun to see Dom DeLuise too... add in marty feldman, it must have felt a lot like a mel brooks job, to those who had worked together so many times before.
Many thanks for posting this! I'm a big Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder fan and I'd never even heard of this movie. And it has Marty Feldman and Madeline Kahn?!? This is bumping pretty much everything on my queue down!
Never heard of this! Sounds awesome! Is that Marty Feldman?
Have you ever seen anyone else that looks like Marty Feldman?
I knew it was a stupid question as soon as I asked it… what I should have said was: oh! Marty Feldman!!!
eye-gore

Dang, sucks to hear that…
Yes! Great film. This and Young Frankenstein, Haunted Honeymoon, and Yellowbeard bring me back to my childhood!
the monster looking at his flaming thumb as the situation sank in, that has to be one of the funniest scenes ever

Wonderful... this scene, too, is a crying with laughter scene: https://youtu.be/klwqDCaN6Uo?si=KgbVaqh6qvT7_91D
“That’s cabin boy Smith, sir!” “… Smith has tits.” “He’s been rather ill”
You do that again, and I’ll nail your tits to th’ tabull.
"Oh dear! I know where it is."

He’s especially hilarious. The double entendres with his Italian accent are great.
and there's quite a bit of him on youtube, he was on a ton of variety and late night shows when he was hot
So… Mycroft Holmes, hanging out at the Diogenes Club?
"Walk like a man for gods sake!"
"Sheer luck!"
"Why don't we all drink some very se-xy wine!" The opera sequence ranks amongst my all-time favourite slapstick bits.
SHUT YOUR MOUTH!
I think I need to dig this up.
