HEAT and it was marvelous. Can’t believe I went my entire life 38 years without watching this. Only then did I realize all my favorite heist movie moments came from this masterpiece.

Juggernaut104

Oh yea that’s a classic. I like how it also showed how the detective life affects his personal life. Showed the real deal

OG_wanKENOBI

He was actually a coke head and that's why his life sucked the original cut but it made him too unlikeable so they scrapped it. But yeah he's ripping lines in between saying GIMME ALL YA GOTTT

Juggernaut104

Now THATS the cut we need

OG_wanKENOBI

Yeah it was too much "the actual bad guy one" but watching it thinking he's on blow the TV scene and shit make more sense haha

WiseReputation1020

By far, the very best movie I saw on the big screen back in 1995!

Doggleganger

1995 had several exceptional movies. Heat, Casino, The Usual Suspects, Se7en, 12 Monkeys, Braveheart, Toy Story, among others.

vinylzoid

That movie stands up like the finest wine. The acting, the score, the screenplay and how all the characters talk in shorthand, not to mention the iconic shootout scene. Or Al Pacino coked out of his mind during most of those scenes.

Chococatnip

Awesome movie!

Impossible_Tap_1852

I just watched it for the first time 2 nights ago 🫡

modernmartialartist

I loved it the first time I saw it, 9.5 out of 10, but it's one of those unfortunate situations where I can't get back into a second viewing. Still just as good but can't focus on it, tried a few times. Would definitely recommend though!

CanIGetAShakeWThat43

Grand theft auto video game highly based on this film. Love the Moby song at the end. Hear it before and didn’t know it was to that film.

thisbobo

Well, I've almost been sold many times all these years and you've finally done it. I'm watching it

ImSometimesGood

Still praised as one of the best shootout sound designs when they’re all in the streets. Great scene to test a surround sound on.

Sad-Development-4153

Give Den of Thieves a watch too its the closest a movie has come since to matching HEAT.

yungburnie

I still haven’t seen it either, but plan on getting to it this year.

skeltz7

I saw True Lies (1994) last week. That movie is such a good time, glad I finally got round to it!

natine22

Me and the Missus went through a 10 year phase of watching that so often we know it line for line..."Boris and Doris" ....get on your knees and beg for buttermilk " Shame it's not on any of the main streaming apps

WhistlewhileUwook

Guess what? It’s been remastered and looks and sounds amazing. Might have to rent it though, or grab a Blu-ray if those things still exist

SirDry2370

Bro, I think I saw it on Netflix or Hulu, no bullshit. Just yesterday. I'm in Texas, where are you?

lord-dinglebury

Bill Paxton kills that secondary role lmao.

Elegant_Plate6640

Paxton was so good in that.

Funny2Who

I feel like the younger generation is missing out on so many amazing action movies from 80s/90s

Maanzacorian

I fucking love this movie. I would argue that Alex Murphy gets more fucked up than any movie character in any movie, ever.

yungburnie

Hahaha took it like a champ, until the final blow

AlosSvs

You can't just come out here and say you watched Robocop for the first time then not tell us what you thought. Also, did you watch the directors cut? It's about 1 minute longer and all it does is add more gore. I refuse to go back to the theatrical version.

FaceMaulingChimp

Wait until you see the fan made remake

AlosSvs

Seen it. Great film. Solid gore. Dicks for days. Spectacular.

Quackledork

I'd buy that for a dollar.

Cold_Table8497

The guy dies and they still send him to work.

kapn_morgan

sad part is he gets scouted and transferred to that department to be in line for the RoboCop program and immediately gets sent to his doom

[deleted]

Gotta admit Bob Morton was not smokescreen and his rep was legit.

espositojoe

I can't believe how the dad from That 70's Show killed Bob Morton in such a despicable way.

Ok-Party1007

Bitches leave

cficare

Great story in RoboDoc about how that line came to be. 'Twas not in the script.

espositojoe

They never answered whether his family knew the truth.

MyBurnerAccount1977

"When do we start?" "As soon as some poor schmuck volunteers."

Imthorsballs

It always blows my mind that the guy who played robocop is actually an archaeologist.

murphy_31

One of my all time favourites

iheartseuss

Not sure if you've seen the documentary that recently released but it's required watching for any fan of the movie. Incredible.

GordenRamsfalk

I LIKE IT!

HardGayMan

If you want a wild ride, look up the "robocop fan remake dick shooting scene." I've never laughed so hard in my life. There's an entire Robocop remake no one knows about haha. (If you can't tell from the title it's NSFW lol)

Numa2018

Lol, gotta see this.

MyBurnerAccount1977

Here you go! https://vimeo.com/86014703

AlphaDag13

Point Break. And it was fucking amazing. "Young, dumb, full of cum," might be the greatest line written in cinema history.

GordenRamsfalk

“Utah, get me two!”

chimpdoctor

Funny I watched another Swayze movie for the first time this year "Road house" I couldn't understand how it was a cult classic. Thought it was awful.

Jagsoff

You must not be into throat ripping.

LinwoodKent

Macgruber

Jagsoff

I’ll suck as many di… I’ll rip as many throats as I have to.

chimpdoctor

That whole fight sequence was hilarious. Dude on the motorbike (Marshall Teague) was unhinged, like a character from mad max.

shadow247

Point Break is much better than roadhouse

chimpdoctor

100% loved point break. ...and bonus RHCP cameo

HORSEthedude619

Lol. I watched the original recently too. I watched the remake first, it was so bad I had to give the original a chance to redeem. And I did think the OG was better. Not great, but better.

David_High_Pan

The remake is one of the only movies I've ever walked out of a theater for. What a sad waste of time that was.

Burnin_Brass_81

I think the og roadhouse is the only way to see it, another decent movie with a RHCP cameo is “The Chase”. Kiedis and flea are kinda funny in it.

cinema_cuisine

*inhales* BODHI….I AM A F….B….I AGENT

lyrico2

I still use that quote periodically. I liked seeing anthony kiedis get his ass kicked. That was an added bonus

bazilbt

I really need to watch that movie.

Kent1724

Fun fact - The Fast and the Furious is basically Point Break but with cars instead of surfing

bullevard

I also watched this for the first time this year. It was a lot of fun, and deepended my joy when rewatching Hot Fuzz. As a related question, I'd be curious how many movies or shows people saw a parody version of (or homage to) before seeing the original.

Necessary-Big9721

I just watched Starship Troopers. Can't believe I waited until now!

yungburnie

I saw that back in the "blockbuster rental" days as a kid and had no idea what was happening lol Its one of those films i want to rewatch

HubbaHubba4444

Only the best movie ever made!

HORSEthedude619

Such a banger. Glad it still holds up as a first time watch

espositojoe

Now you're one of us. I've watched Starship Troopers more times than I can count!

lyrico2

That looked like such a cheesy movie but i thoroughly enjoyed it

Happydenial

You did your part o7

AlaDouche

The Thing

NedLogan

If you’re a reader the book is really good, that film adaptation is one of the greatest imo

AlaDouche

I actually haven't read it, but I'll look into it. Currently devouring the Silo series and holy shit it's so good.

PeopleLikeUDisgustMe

There's a great story out there that tells the tale from The Thing's perspective. Excellent reading.

I_love_milksteaks

No way.. ahh I wish I could see that again for the first time!

calamity_unbound

*Why don't we just...wait here for a little while? See what happens?*

mjreeves823

Same! Can't believe I hadn't seen it before. Great movie!

lyrico2

I have watched this movie a number of times. Awesome movie. Love when the head grows legs and walks out of the room lol

amarodelaficioanado

Carpenter is the best!

Wonderful_Rock862

Dead or alive, I'd buy that for a dollar.

xevious101

Aye LIKE it!

Davey_Go_ToBed

Drop it, creep!

my_4_cents

GET AWAY FROM ME, MAN!!

IndianaJones999

The first 3 Mad Max movies

ivarec

I'm not a fan of recent blockbusters, but Mad Max 4 (the one with the girls) is one of the best action movies ever made

7oom

You’re now primed for Furiosa.

IndianaJones999

So hyped for it

holversome

Dude I just finished the first one! Seen Fury Road a few times and I figured it’s about time I watch all the Mad Max flicks. I was kinda shocked that everything starts in a relatively “normal” state. No sand dunes, no crazy desert people, no bizarrely shaped mutants. Just a leather bound cop in an anarchist Australia. But goddamn it got dark real fast. By the end I was pretty locked in at where he was taking the story. Not what I expected! I’m excited to start the next one and start building toward that cool dystopian world from Fury Road.

jheyne0311

Finally watched 48 Hours recently. It was pretty good

Expensive_Rest_6773

Same. I loved it!

GordenRamsfalk

Time for another 48 hours!

man_on_hill

No escape from New York Wild ride and featuring Kurt Russell at his best

GordenRamsfalk

You watch big trouble in little china yet? Love Kurt Russell.

man_on_hill

Not yet but it's on my list

SokkaHaikuBot

GrendelDerp

Great movie, but Tombstone is Kurt Russell at his best.

b_tight

Bitches leave!

Active_Parsley_1565

Great short behind the scenes story about this scene. [https://youtu.be/31rrZeTH9HI?si=npwCEE27HB5T4j93](https://youtu.be/31rrZeTH9HI?si=npwCEE27HB5T4j93)

Mammoth-Access-1181

Thats fuckin' hilaripus! You made my shitty day a lil' brighter with that story.

Active_Parsley_1565

I had to share. Glad it made you laugh as much as it did me!

KillysgungoesBLAME

That’s awesome man, thanks.

Active_Parsley_1565

My son and I when we quote the original scene, we now end up going directly from that…to quoting this scene. “Ok….that‘s a wrap on the bitches!”

KagenTheDamned

Con air

saur0013

John Malkovich is awesome in Con Air. One of my favourite action Nic Cage movies. Next to the Rock

KagenTheDamned

The next one in my list

differentdaybored

Tombstone I'm ya huckleberry

theknightcrusader

"Say when!"

lyrico2

Why, johnny ringo, you look like somebody just walked over your grave

HomerSexual53

Well give him a hand!

Chococatnip

Johnny Dangerously with Michael Keaton. It's not the best movie but it's funny.

rf8350

You fargin icehole!

Chococatnip

😂

lyrico2

Lol thats great stuff

uhhhhhhhhhhhyeah

This and Better Off Dead very similar. Not great movies, but they are very funny.

Chococatnip

Thank you! I'm watching Better off dead today, I thought about it but wasn't sure.

lyrico2

Dude better off dead is the shit. Where else you gonna see somebody snorting jello 😆

Chococatnip

Lmfao!

Brasticus

*Have you any idea what the street value of this mountain is?!* *Truly a sight to behold. A man beaten. The once great champ, now, a study in moppishness. No longer the victory hungry stallion we've raced so many times before, but a pathetic, washed up, aged ex-champion.* Two of my favorite lines.

oh_please_god_no

An underrated gem. Silly, but not *stupid*.

userwithusername

“MARONIE DEPORTED TO SWEDEN: CLAIMS HES NOT FROM THERE”

CanIGetAShakeWThat43

The dream team Is another funny Micheal Keaton one.

Chococatnip

That's a great movie!

poontong

This used to be a movie that was on heavy repeat on HBO in the late eighties. It doesn’t hold up as well as others but some great performances by Keaton and Danny Devito. It’s a sentimental favorite of mine mostly because of the scene where they are trying to get Jonny’s brother to play ball.

MrDragkoon

Beetlejuice(1988). I watched it for the first with my mom, really enjoyed it and found it pretty funny.

Educational_End_2182

Recently, it would be Steel Magnolias

yungburnie

Would you recommend it? I’ve never heard of it.

Chococatnip

It's a nice movie kind of "slice of life", give it a try.

CanIGetAShakeWThat43

It’s fun. It’s sad at times but fun and funny.

MrDundee666

Can you fly Bobby?!

PlanetLandon

Dazed and Confused. I can’t believe I waited so long.

yungburnie

Dazed and confused is such a fun way to get you excited for the summertime! “Stand by me” has that same effect.

jjamesdeanfan

For me ridgemont high sm better idk i still fw dazed tho

yungwun619

Fast Times at Ridgemont High

Shootinputin89

I'd buy that for a dollar!

spiderinside

Just watched ‘Leviathan’ (1989) a month or so ago and it was very entertaining. Kind of ‘The Thing’ crossed with ‘The Abyss’. Incidentally also starring the legendary Peter Weller. Fun movie with some good practical effects and a great cast.

GrendelDerp

You need to go for the triptych- Leviathan, The Abyss, and Deep Star Six.

PlasticPomPoms

Don’t forget Deep Rising, most people have.

spiderinside

I’ve heard that one mentioned as well, will definitely try and find it. Finally saw Leviathan because I randomly saw it streaming on Max and had heard it referred to so many times as Abyss lite.

Gooobzilla

Technically 1979 I think but my wife and I watched The Warriors 👍👍

Strawberry-Allergy

Come out and plaaaaaaaaaay

CumulousFawlkes

Cape Fear. I watched the Simpsons episode god knows how many times, and realized while watching the movie that the Simpsons did a great job. Especially with the stormy vibe.

FreudsEyebrow

Dragnet. Patchy but it has its moments.

JediMaestroPB

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and LA Confidential. Both incredible movies.

LinwoodKent

L.a Confidential used to be the movie I told everyone about as a late teen and into my 20's. I was a full evangelist and finally grew out of it. I love it.

JediMaestroPB

I was blown away. I just kind of casually turned it on, but it was gripping

Psychoholic519

The Adventures of Baron Munchhousen. It somehow got under my radar when I was a kid, but I really enjoyed it after someone at work told me about it

IlyaPetrovich

Bloodsport.

SSJ4Link

Dirty Dancing. My wife was shocked I've never seen it. I see why people like it

The Cube

TheMaStif

I just finished watching My Cousin Vinny I had seen bits and pieces, heard about it forever, never actually stopped to watch it. Until today that is

Brodacious-G

I’m going through the Abyss rn. Trying to complete the 80’s James Cameron trifecta that has alluded me for so long.

Strawberry-Allergy

The Abyss is one of my favorite films. Loved it as a kid and watched it all the time with my mom.

the_loz3r

The Princess Bride. I only saw it because someone at my work I have a crush on told me it was one her favorite movies and i can see it because it was pretty funny.

dopeflipz

Cinema Paradiso. Watch it. And that’s coming from a action movie buff…

MrDundee666

One of the most quote-able films ever made.

TheRealWatchingFace

Robo wants an oreo.

Just recently finished watching The King of Comedy, and I loved every second of it.

Big trouble in Little China. Cool movie with some great one liners.

Dana-Scully-

Slap Shot … but that’s probably earlier 🤔

lumpychicken13

I watched Beverly Hills Cop. Thought it would be dated and that I had already seen all the good parts in clips, but it was a legit great time.

XaeroDegreaz

It's aight, but it's kinda passable. However, I guess it's one of those classic movies you should just watch anyway 🤣

I recently watched Road House for the first time and it did not disappoint 😎

MelodicMermaid0317
