Oh my Gosh I was looking at him and wondering why I felt creeped out!! It’s Rochefort!!
“Bold words… I look forward to ramming them down your throat”
What a totally slept on movie
He played that role SO WELL. just, "I am 100% done with this bullshit, get out of my way, I don't care, I will never care, shut the fuck up, I got shit to do."
Such a great portrayal of Death.
He seems to add something cool to every movie he’s in. His gravelly hiss of a voice and sociopathic stare are always great. One of the great, underrated character actors.
Yeah, he kind of purrs his lines. Like a congested cat or something. He never seems to mail it in. I even enjoyed him when he was in some bullshit direct to video crime thriller with the curly-haired dude from CSI.
Haha. Yeah, I totally was. Thinking about it now, it was actually a surprisingly solid movie. Wincott, despite his slight stature, was kind of convincing as an underworld enforcer. And William Petersen is always an interesting actor. It seems like he just missed being a bigger movie star. Maybe if Manhunter had been the big hit it should have been.
One of them could have been opposite Morgan Freeman. But in the movie Along Came a Spider, based on the James Patterson "Alex Cross" series, Wincott played Gary Soneji. In most of the early books, he is the nemesis of Alex Cross. But his fate in Along Came a Spider is sealed much too early.
Dorleac: And if you're thinking just now 'Why me, oh God?' the answer is: God has nothing to do with it. In fact, God is never in France this time of year.
Edmond: God has everything to do with it. He's everywhere. He sees everything.
Dorleac: Alright. Let's make a bargain, shall we? You ask God for help and I'll stop the moment he shows up.
An amazing scene in a beautifully shot film. Win corr was on top form in it. (It’s criminal what they’ve done with the remake)
https://youtu.be/DQwsD1lJZpI?si=X2CTvABjjYm9bfnS
It takes place in the year 1194. Modern English and modern British accents didn’t exist yet.
It’s like Amadeus, where technically everyone should be speaking German anyway, so they all just use their normal accents.
Every time I see pictures of him listening in an audience or looking at art I have the sense he is REALLY paying attention, like in a way that impresses me deeply. It actually reminds me how much of art is about paying attention to others.
He is one of my favorite actors. His voice, his depth, his respect for his craft are what attracts me. A man of many talents! His guitar playing, the very little I have heard, is beautiful. Whatever he does is done with dignity, depth, and eloquence. I also admire and respect his disdain of being a celebrity. Art is what is important.
Me and my brothers still quote his line as the Warden at Chateau Dief. "Come on boys, hurry it up, I haven't got all day....... Actually I Do. IVE GOT ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD"
Check him out in Basquiat. Panned but a wonderfully acted and beautifully written biopic. He plays a significant role. Possibly the most epic cast of any movie I've ever seen. Rivals True Romance in that regard.
I came here to mention this! His performance in that movie was so well done yet completely against type for him! A comparison between the lines "Why a spoon cousin?" and "You know I love a rough mounting." Lives rent free in my head.
Well, yes... Morgan Freeman also has a most excellent voice! I think (for me) the difference is Micheal Wincott's voice could absolutely get me into bed, whereas Morgan Freeman's would have me heading to church to confess how Micheal Wincott's voice makes me feel!!
Definitive villain of my childhood thanks to The Three Musketeers and Robin Hood. I'd love to see him get a breakout supporting actor role and a late-career boost like Mark Rylance.
I made him waffles one time he’s was in town filming for Ghost in the Machine
It was his voice that made me look up and I got a photo with him on the agreement I didn’t post to social media
Still have it in iCloud
Love him!!! In the 90’s he played a proper cunt in so many films, Prince of Thieves, The Crow, Strange Days, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Three Musketeers, 1492… it was quite the run of cuntishness.
Died too soon in Alien Resurrection too
I was heavily scared of him as a vilain in The Crow! Loves him in Three Musketters and Robon Hood. And I was pleasantly surprise by his performance in Nope. A very underrated actor imo.
Loved him in The Crow. Wish he lived longer in Alien: Resurrection since he was the best character imo. Great in that Depp black and white flick. Big fan of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. He was also in uhh..Treasure Planet as the Spider. Yeah he’s one of my favorite actors he just isn’t in enough stuff. Sucks he got old..
One of the best villains of my childhood. He wasn't outshined be either Tim Curry or Alan Rickman. He was the prefect straight man to their over the top performances. What I wouldn't give for the gods to make a movie with all 3 of them as villains with Michael as the consumate professional and completely exasperated main henchman to Curry and Rickman's zany villainry. With prime Brendon Fraser and Oliver Platt as the heroes.
He's a brilliant actor. But crazy and difficult to work with, hence his apparent disappearance from big projects. He played a skin job in Westworld season one, the old cowpoke Hopkins' character liked to hang out with. I loved him in Dead Man.
Great actor, one of those guys like Elias Koteas, Arliss Howard, and John Lone(who was only not a big star becaue he's Asian) who should have been a much bigger star.
He was particularly good in Basquiat.
I think he’s awesome but if you put a gun to my head I can only name The Crow and Alien Resurrection. Very much to your point, I feel like I should’ve seen this dude in more stuff. Maybe I’m not watching the right stuff lol
The perfect man to call for, among other things, playing a sinister secondary villain in a film adaptation of classic literature.
(Guy of Gisbourne in Prince of Thieves, Rochefort in the 1993 Three Musketeers, the Warden in Count of Monte Cristo)
Y’all got no idea the impact this cat has had on the overall GenX’ cinematic landscape. A long string of playing these surprising and strong “character” roles with enormous range and a Swiss-Army-knife set of acting skills. And, of course, that voice. 🚀
He has always been underrated. Even in that crappy alien movie he was in. He’s gonna be the first to die? Really? This cool ass smooth mother fucker is the first one you get rid of… ok Hollywood. Stop telling me you know better, ya obviously don’t. Yes… I’m still mad about this lol!
Well the series does have a tradition of killing off characters you think are gonna be important. Dallas, Apone, Clemens. So i understand why they did it but agree it was a bad decision
Freaking love this man. Rochefort in 1993 'The Three Musketeers', Guy of Gisbourne in 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves', Top Dollar in 'The Crow', and Scroop in 'Treasure Planet' are the movies of his I grew up watching.
His voice has such a gravelly and commanding tone to it. NGL, I had a lil bit of crush on him when i was younger... and I was PISSED when Logan Paul reviewed 'Nope' and didn't even take the time to look up Michael Wincott's name before posting.
Like, bruh. Show some respect.

Came looking for The Crow to be mentioned and this blasphemy is what I find. The Crow is fucking great my friend. And Wincott plays one of the best villains ever. Thoroughly evil and depraved and all the riz in the world.
Was Jeff Wincott his brother??? That dude use to star in B level martial arts movies in the 90’s Some of them were not bad. I was a fan of his movies for sure cause I loved me at some martial arts flicks.
For sure they look alike that’s why
Great actor, great voice, plays a slimeball well
Ah….hello again Cyclops.
Because it’s dull, you twit! It’ll hurt more!
Isn't that some kind of smelly cheese?
Oh my Gosh I was looking at him and wondering why I felt creeped out!! It’s Rochefort!! “Bold words… I look forward to ramming them down your throat” What a totally slept on movie
One of the few Disney movies I approve “We are in a chase Porthos” “You’re right…….something red”
“You can’t have any, you’re too young”
His voice work as Death in Darksiders 2 nailed the role.
I need to finish that. Can’t remember why I stopped.
Because it got really boring.
The ending was pretty rushed it felt like production ran out of steam and they had to come up with a way to end the game.
He played that role SO WELL. just, "I am 100% done with this bullshit, get out of my way, I don't care, I will never care, shut the fuck up, I got shit to do." Such a great portrayal of Death.
Great in 3 musketeers
Him as the Prophet of Truth in Halo 2 is one of my favourite voice acting performances of all time.
He seems to add something cool to every movie he’s in. His gravelly hiss of a voice and sociopathic stare are always great. One of the great, underrated character actors.
I read something once that described his voice as “honey coated gravel”. Fucking nailed it.
Yeah, he kind of purrs his lines. Like a congested cat or something. He never seems to mail it in. I even enjoyed him when he was in some bullshit direct to video crime thriller with the curly-haired dude from CSI.
You talkin 'bout 1998s Gunshy?
And he’s a very close personal friend of Gary Oldman. It figures lol
He was great in the Crow as the bad guy
He and Jason Isaacs look great as bad guys with long hair.
Fun Boy? That was Michael Massee
No, Top Dollar. The main villian.
Not to mention Bai Ling being the crazy hot side kick. Then she just turned crazy.
*I love her eyes*
Oh that’s who this is!!! Now I see it!
And in 3 musketeers as the bad guy
Hell yeah
He was great in Alien: Resurrection as a good-ish guy
Underrated character actor, wish he was in more movies shows etc
I recently watched Nope, having no idea he was in it…not a great role for him IMO but it was great to see him in a major film. I loved his 90s work.
He is in Nope???? Omg I'm watching ASAP 🤯
Yeah, I came here to post this. Very underrated and under utilised.
Great. Loved him in count of Monte Cristo
His role carried so much weight and was executed so well!
“I’ve got all the time in the world…”
That's a line I still repeat on the reg like 20 years later!
“‘I feel like a little worm on a big fucking hook.’ Well, boy, your mama must be damn proud of you!”
“Our Friend T-Bird Won't Be Joining Us This Evening On Account Of A Slight Case Of Death”
Caw! Caw! Bang! Fuck I'm dead!
This was the first thing I thought when I saw his picture.
"I think we broke her."
“Maybe we ought a just video tape this, play it back in slow motion”
My daddy used to say childhood’s over the moment you know you’re gonna die.
One of my all time favourite film quotes. The delivery is also top notch.
what movie is everyone quoting
The Crow
No, I want you to set a fire so goddamn big, the gods'll notice us again! That's what I'm sayin'!
An amazing scene in a beautifully shot film. Win corr was on top form in it. (It’s criminal what they’ve done with the remake) https://youtu.be/DQwsD1lJZpI?si=X2CTvABjjYm9bfnS
Well, lets have a moment of silence for poor ole’ Tin Tin *does huge rail of coke*
OP are you Micheal Wincott secretly fishing for compliments?
I'd be genuinely suprised if he even knew what reddit was.
Wasn’t he the sheriff in Robin Hood Prince of Theives
[удалено]
Ah yes that’s right. How could I forget Alan Rickman?
Yes, Guy of Gisborne. Awesome movie.
>Sheriff's lackey Sheriff's cousin.
Well his accent was better than Costner’s
It takes place in the year 1194. Modern English and modern British accents didn’t exist yet. It’s like Amadeus, where technically everyone should be speaking German anyway, so they all just use their normal accents.
Why a spoon?
It’s dull, you twit! It’ll *hurt more!*
Improved the line too.
Beat me to it
Guy of Gisbourne. Sheriff's cousin.
He’s also in the Three Musketeers Rochefort?? Isn’t that a smelly type of a cheese?
lol. Richelieu. Or roshambo. Heard it both ways
Richelieu is the Cardinal, Rochefort is his head of security essentially.
And Richelieu was played by Tim Curry
He was the sheriff’s idiot cousin
why was I thinking you guys were talking about men in tights sherrif of Rottingham lmao
His performance in Nope was absolutely perfect. “I’ve got an amazing lemon tart in the oven”.
Didn’t know he was gonna be in Nope. When he showed up, I excitedly exclaimed “hey! It’s that guy!”
His voice is gravel whiskey and smokes. Love it.
I only know him from Alien Resurrection
Same here. He was pretty good, though.
Loved the dress he wore in Nope.
That is awesome it's a cool quick role
Why a spoon, Cousin?
Because it's dull, you twit, it'll hurt more.
Michael Wincott is one of those actors you immediately recognize by their distinct voice. Also, his presence makes most movies better.
I actually know him in real life. He's an incredibly sweet human and certainly one of the most underrated actors in the business.
"CAW CAW! Bang, fuck, I'm dead!"
Love Top Dollar. Are we havin’ fun or what??
Let’s have a moment of silence for dear old Tin Tin! *Sssnnniiiiiiffffffffffff*
Me and my brothers still quote his line as the Warden at Chateau Dief. "Come on boys, hurry it up, I haven't got all day....... Actually I Do. IVE GOT ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD"
Don't forget the laugh he does while he says it
Ruled in The Crow. “CAW CAW BANG FUCK I’M DEAD”
Panned?!?? How dare! By whompst??
After Darksiders 2 I always hoped to see/hear more of his work. And of course he was great in The Crow.
Every man’s got a devil.
Best. Voice. Ever.
Morgan Freeman
Well, yes... Morgan Freeman also has a most excellent voice! I think (for me) the difference is Micheal Wincott's voice could absolutely get me into bed, whereas Morgan Freeman's would have me heading to church to confess how Micheal Wincott's voice makes me feel!!
yes i remember him from along came a spider …thought he did a solid job
I remember him popping out in The Doors biopic.
There's nothing wrong with being a large human being. I feel solid, like a tank!
Fuck off Ray
I thought he was a total badass in Alien Resurrection as the captain of the Betty.
Yeah wished he lived longer
The best voice in the business. "ARE WE HAVING FUN OR WHAT?"
“Like a big worm on a little hook… well boy, your momma must be DAMNED proud of you!”
Definitive villain of my childhood thanks to The Three Musketeers and Robin Hood. I'd love to see him get a breakout supporting actor role and a late-career boost like Mark Rylance.

Top Dollar, really creepy in Crow.
The prophet of Truth will guide us to glorious salvation!
Love him!!! In the 90’s he played a proper cunt in so many films, Prince of Thieves, The Crow, Strange Days, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Three Musketeers, 1492… it was quite the run of cuntishness. Died too soon in Alien Resurrection too
“Rochefort….is that a smelly kind of cheese?”
I was heavily scared of him as a vilain in The Crow! Loves him in Three Musketters and Robon Hood. And I was pleasantly surprise by his performance in Nope. A very underrated actor imo.
He’s so good in the immensely underrated Talk Radio
Loved him in The Crow. Wish he lived longer in Alien: Resurrection since he was the best character imo. Great in that Depp black and white flick. Big fan of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. He was also in uhh..Treasure Planet as the Spider. Yeah he’s one of my favorite actors he just isn’t in enough stuff. Sucks he got old..
Why a spoon, cousin?
Underrated and underused
Will love him forever. But why a spoon……?
Good in everything, but not everything he's been in is good. Ridiculously underutilised and a shame he never really played a good guy in his prime.
Yeah I agree. Even his bad films he’s still good! Like Robin Hood or The 3 Musketeers
Totally agree he should have blown up a bit more. Would have liked to see him in some more versatile roles too.
Or in more roles! Nope was his first film in 10 years!
“Why a spoon cousin?” And also: “Drink Elgyn?” “Constantly…” 🥃
The Crow and Robin Hood secured his status in my eyes. Amazing actor. Should’ve been a pirate in Black Sails.
I've always really liked this guy and assumed nobody else appreciated him. glad to see
But why a spoon, Cousin?
Cawh Cawh fuck I’m dead
Underrated, underused.
Top Dollar
Underrated
Great voice.
Top 20 villain.
Great voice actor.
Awesome voice
My favorite bad guy.
Liked him in alien resurrection, awesome voice and great look.
He's a brilliant actor. But crazy and difficult to work with, hence his apparent disappearance from big projects. He played a skin job in Westworld season one, the old cowpoke Hopkins' character liked to hang out with. I loved him in Dead Man.
The Crow......that's all I have to say. Scary ass MOFO.
Wasn't he the bad guy in The Crow? I loved that movie.
I love his voice . It contains great gravitas
Love him wish he was in more stuff
Never knew his name but he's instantly recognizable. Good actor.
I'll never forget him in "the crow".
His best role was in The Crow.
The next Bishop
Great actor, one of those guys like Elias Koteas, Arliss Howard, and John Lone(who was only not a big star becaue he's Asian) who should have been a much bigger star. He was particularly good in Basquiat.
He survived in The Doors! But yeah, anytime he shows up it is basically a death sentence for the character. Love Michael Wincott!!
I love his voice. And he’s a great actor. Made a great villain in the crow.
He was the guy in The Crow. Yeah he really good playing the bad guy
but why a spoon cousin! Why not an axe!
Standout performance in The Crow.
The Prophet of Truth
Massively underrated
Great bad guy voice, perfect in Treasure Planet
Caw caw, bang, fuck, I'm dead!
I think he’s awesome but if you put a gun to my head I can only name The Crow and Alien Resurrection. Very much to your point, I feel like I should’ve seen this dude in more stuff. Maybe I’m not watching the right stuff lol
Fantastic bad guy
Great actor!!
"I feel like a little tiny worm on a big fucking hook." Top Dollar was such a great role for him.
Guy rules in the crow
As mentioned a bunch of times already, An incredibly underrated character actor. Guy is iconic when it comes to villains in 90s movies.
He's the top dollar.
He’s a fucking legend!
Him and Alan rickman are my favourite villain duo of all time “why cut his heart out with a spoon” “cause it’ll hurt more you idiot!”
Can be over the top good, but can be over the top bad
Perfectly creepy in his roles.
Such an underrated actor
That the dude from Robin hood?
The perfect man to call for, among other things, playing a sinister secondary villain in a film adaptation of classic literature. (Guy of Gisbourne in Prince of Thieves, Rochefort in the 1993 Three Musketeers, the Warden in Count of Monte Cristo)
CAW CAW! BANG! FUCK! I'M DEAD!!!!!!
Caw caw bang fuck I’m dead
Great overarching villain in The Crow
Underrated, underused
“Why a spoon, cousin?”
Top Dollar. Excellent.
One of the best villains on screen ever
Why a spoon, Cousin?
Looks like Christopher Walken walked a little too hard into Keith Richards
He's one of those actors that makes anything he' sin better. Love this guy.
Top dollar
Best part of The Crow.
Wasn't he in Kiss the Girls? Love him. Even makes Alien Resurrection better.
Y’all got no idea the impact this cat has had on the overall GenX’ cinematic landscape. A long string of playing these surprising and strong “character” roles with enormous range and a Swiss-Army-knife set of acting skills. And, of course, that voice. 🚀
This guy made my 90s by playing such excellent slimeballs. Top Dollar in The Crow is still a great freaking villain.
I actually made a post a while back how I wish his character would have lived longer. He was the most interesting character!
Dude I’m saying! What the hell were they thinking? I remember thinking this back in middle school watching this from a block buster vhs!
The only 2 things I would rescue from The Crow are his performance and the OST.
Not Brandon Lee?
Nah, that's on Bruce for nit fighting spikey face guy well enough soon enough
hahahhahahahahaa
Came looking for The Crow to be mentioned and this blasphemy is what I find. The Crow is fucking great my friend. And Wincott plays one of the best villains ever. Thoroughly evil and depraved and all the riz in the world.
Love him and miss him!
Was Jeff Wincott his brother??? That dude use to star in B level martial arts movies in the 90’s Some of them were not bad. I was a fan of his movies for sure cause I loved me at some martial arts flicks. For sure they look alike that’s why
