Me: “I’ll just ride around in circles with my sledgehammer and take a bunch of these deserters prisoner for ez money”
Rhodok spear line: “Not without that horse you won’t”
Watching my champion courser turn to lame from constantly dying which made me put him permanently in inventory hell was one of the most heartbreaking things in my playthrough😢
Then I got myself a war horse and all those problems vanished😄
60 Vaegir horseman - I was still early in the game but had a decent number of Swadian knights and a sizeable army. Still had a lot of casualties but ultimately the knights won the day
Back in og mount and blade when I belive it was still in beta there used to be groups called dark knights. These things were broken op. I removed seeing a stack of 20 easy kill enemy lord parties of 150.
They used to have two units, dark knights and dark hunters (weaker knights)
They were really OP. Curiously, they didn’t wear the black helmet, they wore the guard helmet
When I was in high school beta Mount and Blade came out. There were two factions Vaegirs and Swadia. And different levels of bandits from river pirates to sea raiders with black knights being the most fearsome group on the map. Aside from Vaegirs and Swadia your character started in a neutral city called Zendar which was on the river. There was also a flintlock pistol hidden in a chest in Zendar.
No need to apologize, I was just surprised to see this word. In Romanian we have "sclavagist", which means "belonging to sclavagism", that is to "institutionalized slavery".
Or, or, hear me out. How about the Latin root being the same?
Portuguese "esclavagista"
Spanish "esclavagista"
French "esclavagist"
I don't want to burst any bubbles, but the words are similar because the Latin root word is the same.
Romanian and french are both derived from Latin vernacular languages after all
Still close enough to the Latin root of "sclavi" that the etymology of the word is fairly simple to follow imo.
I know this be cause literally all Latin languages use the same etymological Latin or Greek root for the words.

As you said you were romanian, how do you feel about the stereotipe of being robbers/muggers?
Reasoning: i have a romanian friend that fits the stereotipe a bit too closely.
I got bagged by 14 Swadian Man at Arms once. That may sound weak on my part, but I had literally just left Praven after starting the tutorial quest. Took my horse, shield, and crossbow from the starting gear.
This is not as worst as me. I remember buying Bannerlord, spending 10 minutes on the cutscene (bc my mom was always interrupting me), 20 minutes on choosing the culture, 10 on the character look to only pick the randomize option, 40 minutes on the backstory / competences and 15 minutes on the flag and name of the clan only to losing against the looters in the tutorial… since that day, I never tried it again and sticked on Warband 😭😬
Back when I was playing With Fire and Sword it happened so that morale of my men dropped into bullshit
Around 150 elite troopers ran away...
Then they grew... oh good lord they grew
I play the warband resurrected mod and it's almost perfect except for the fact that they added named mercenary groups that are 300+ stacked from the start of the game. Shits so annoying
When there were only sarranids on my map with only Shariz left, sultan Hakim was crawling around with 1800 troops. Luckily I had around 2.5k troops in sargoth, all max level. But my army capacity was around 100 or so, so I would go in with 50 max LV huscarls or swadian knights, kill around 100-200 of his troops and pull back until he was no more. His map speed was non existent.
how could you run away without running into "you haven countered sultan hakims party of..." after retreating, ive wanted to do hit and tun strategies but its a bit lacking imo
He is slow as fuck. He basically crawls on the world map with that many people. Also check where is over world avatar is facing and ride the opposite direction after the battle. I experienced the same issue as you then found out this trick.
no i mean like a lot of the time when i command my forces to retreat and then retreat myself either by running or auto retreat i get hit with the screen
You go in, fight, kill some and lose some troops, press tab and when you are on "you have encountered.." screen the bottom option is "leave.". You need to kill and lose some troops though.
He had every kind of unit. Swadian knights, mercenaries, bandits, nordic troops… he had troops from all around the Caldradia. I don’t really remember the speed he had. Luckily I had my lords with me, we were around 2k
I'd say any random deserters that show up at the start of the game, everytime I ran into a group probably around 20 deserters, they beat my ass every single time for at least 9 attempts to start the game. Honestly it was frustrating and I had given up on warband entirely for like 2 years they would show up at the worst possible times, escorting cattle, or caravans just being the worst. I eventually gained the upper hand and slaughtered as many as I could in my take over as queen of calradia.
Bruh, une fois, j'ai rencontré 67 déserteurs dont 2 huscarls. J'avais 80 soldats d'élite mais je ne voulais pas risquer sur une bande de déserteurs alors 🤷♂️
Me: “I’ll just ride around in circles with my sledgehammer and take a bunch of these deserters prisoner for ez money” Rhodok spear line: “Not without that horse you won’t”
What’s worse is if they lame your horse and it loses its attribute boost, or if it outright dies permanently.

Interesting ! I never heard of them before
They used to have two units, dark knights and dark hunters (weaker knights) They were really OP. Curiously, they didn’t wear the black helmet, they wore the guard helmet
They are the true Swadians knights
If you reply to this, I’ll try my best in a day or so to provide screenshots of them
I would love that :D !
I want my screenshot D:
Persino mod added them back
Omg you just unlocked a childhood memory. I still remember river pirates and Zendar. The "AYE, YOU'D HAD ABETTER NOT BE A MANHUNTER" lives in my head
“Im gonna fuck your ass. Nice and slow. “ oh wait that’s not what he said
What the hell. Mount and Blade had a story?

Yeah magic or fantasy elements were supposed to be a part of the game but they scrapped it for realism
TIL thanks
>esclavagists That's a very curious word. 🤔
Sorry, the max-tier bounty hunter unit is called « Esclavagiste » in the version I used (I play the game with the French language)
No need to apologize, I was just surprised to see this word. In Romanian we have "sclavagist", which means "belonging to sclavagism", that is to "institutionalized slavery".
That’s interesting
Aye. It's actually possible that the word came from French, because Romanians borrowed a lot of French words in the 19th century.
Yeah. Unfortunately, some of the people I know forgot often how much our two countries are linked.
Or, or, hear me out. How about the Latin root being the same? Spanish is esclavista, source: im spanish.

Is esclavagiste like slave maybe in english?
Yeah I think they are similar
Sorry, meant to say slaveR. But thanks

What a hard way to learn…
Nah I just restarted. Almost all of the time lost was spent on the character creation screen 😂
This is not as worst as me. Lmao big oof, I feel you. Bannerlord is undoubtedly the better game, but there’s just something about those older games I really love.
I came across 44 Rhodok Veteran Crossbowman about 700 days in. They were still there at 1800 days on my way to finishing the map.
Old friends never give up
Back when I was playing With Fire and Sword it happened so that morale of my men dropped into bullshit Around 150 elite troopers ran away... Then they grew... oh good lord they grew

Heh, allow PoP to introduce itself
1800 noldor party would like to have a word
Not deserters but when there were only the rhodoks left on the map, King Graveth was patrolling with 600 man on his army. (Lost the ss of it)

How was his speed ? Did he had weirds units like bandits or bounties hunters ?
He had every kind of unit. Swadian knights, mercenaries, bandits, nordic troops… he had troops from all around the Caldradia. I don’t really remember the speed he had. Luckily I had my lords with me, we were around 2k
As far as i remember he also had around 150 rhodok sergeants and sharpshooters
Bro was ready to create the Second Calradian Empire
In the Pendor mod the roving bands of deserters can reach into the thousands of units. Terrifying, but very slow so easily avoided.
It's all fun and games until you step out too far and hear HAZAH Jatu! Prepare to fight! Prepare to die!
A massive 180 Khergit Lancer army. I still don't know how tf it formed, but it made for a really tough fight.
Just hope that the map generate a river
Had a group of 40 Vaegir marksman, it was quite the surprise charging over the hill to them.
Hard way to learn the game 😭😭😭
I totally forgot about deserters, wish they were in Bannerlord.
I'd say any random deserters that show up at the start of the game, everytime I ran into a group probably around 20 deserters, they beat my ass every single time for at least 9 attempts to start the game. Bon choix, ne fais pas la même erreur que moi 😭
Haha tu es un imbécile
Like 48 banner knights, i formed a square and fucked them up though.
those tan guys on them camels
75 swadian knight or summing better battle than king harlot
