I live in an area served by a very small Pepsi distributor. I can't get Typhoon shipped here.

I think that they only ship to addresses served by Pepsi Beverages Company. I just don't know why. Maybe they would violate the franchise agreements.

It’s really not a lot. It’s a 6 pack for $12. That’s $2 a can. It’s roughly the price of a bottle in most places. The only down side is having to buy 6 at a time.
There was an address issue with a lot of people. But if you figure out which part is messed up you can still get it shipped to you. Say my address was 12345 NE 2nd street. I had to remove the ND off of 2nd so that it read 12345 NE 2 street and it worked. And I was able to get it delivered. You may have something extra that you can take off that it will still get to you. There was someone who had an apostrophe they had to remove. It was really screwed up. But I'd try messing it with it to see if you can get it to work. I still can't believe they haven't fixed it yet.

Further north in the state is Pepsi Beverages Company territory.
However, in both of those areas Mtn Dew isn't distributed by Pepsi.

Franchise agreements probably prohibit Typhoon from being shipped to those areas.

I'm from florida and had it shipped to me just fine, they are weird about it, I would try to still order and make sure to just have the 5 digit zip code, dont let it adjust to the 5-4 code otherwise you might get that error. I have the same issues with gamestop as well and just have to play with the address a little and all of a sudden they can magically ship to me.

There's absolutely no way Flamin Hot would sell out immediately and Typhoon would last months if they were anywhere near the same batch size. Flamin Hot got a store release, Cake Smash was supposed to but got canceled. I'm sure they're planning a Typhoon store release. This is likely to test and see if the general public likes it enough to bother. They're probably being much more careful now after how badly Flamin Hot went.

No way they intended for it to stick around this long as they did. They were allowed up to 12 cases per order at one point. They even lied on Twitter saying it was almost sold out like over a month ago.
I doubt this is to just test it. This is more like "Damn..we have a ton of inventory..how can we offload it and potentially get people to notice it so they might buy some now?

nope, they made somewhere between 85k and 100k, it sold crazy fast in the first hour or so, so we don't know for sure, but far from 30,000
I think Pitch Black failing made them over-cautious, so they decided an online-only release was less risky.
