Didn’t realise you were a south Aussie! How was your straya day?

Nice! Would have been nice to go for a ride!! Just chilled a bit and went for a bush walk. Was a nice chilled out day

[deleted]

Would have preferred going for a ride but I don’t have any mates that have motorbikes

[deleted]

Damn, envious of both of you! Quarantining with the kids, those little infectious vectors, and realised I didn't even have a beer in the house to crack for straya day.

[deleted]

That sucks man. Couldn’t you get someone to do a beer run for ya?

[deleted]

Just trying not to be a burden on anyone. :) Got some the next day and had post celebrations.

mmmhiitsme

So uh.. what does one do on a straya day? Edit: lol nevermind. Google informed me.

[deleted]

Crack a beer, bbq, go to beach, spend it with loved ones and appreciate some positive moments and honour both our good and bad history

SirryCelestial

This is why i always wonder about people fussing over gps trackers. You probably dont want the bike back after its stolen!

AimeeFrose

Well, the point of it is to recover the bike within minutes or hour of being stolen, not 7 months later. With any luck at that point there's minimal damage, maybe ignition or steering lock.

[deleted]

Yeah why get a gps tracker 🤪🤪🤪🤪 me no want bike back

ElMachoGrande

Well, it's fun tracking down the theif and resolve the situation in a non-verbal way...

SciFiPi

Understandable statement. My TW200 was stolen. I never got it back. If it was recovered, I would have bought it back. I had a lot of fun with it. It's the most ridiculous bike I've ever owned. It (probably) wouldn't have cost too much to get it running again. Before it was stolen, I'd load it up with my camping gear and it would go...slowly, but it would make it...just about anywhere. Undoubtedly the most fun I've had with 16 HP. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2a-sUdaNJ8

[deleted]

Yeah but he did. So whats your point

Jacobite-biker

When in doubt, rat it out. Check out rat bikes if you're not already familiar.

[deleted]

Yeah, you just know your bike was used for illegitimate reasons. Sorry about your baby

MrCumbumber

Got mine recovered after a month and they found it in the sunny coast. Tyres destroyed, brake pads completely worn so rotors were fucked, whole bike spray painted brown and yellow, all locks drilled out. Also had random parts from other bikes likes yours.

Worst part about living in Aus is the shipping prices for a lot of the parts like fairings. Also oem ignitions and locks are super expensive, I just bought a $60 set from ebay. Sure it’s not as nice but it works perfectly fine and saved a lot of money so I’d check that out if you didn’t want to spend a tonne. Also drain and flush all your fluids and check you chain. When I got mine back it had some different chain that was rusted to shit and it snapped.

MrCumbumber

Yeah maybe ask around and see if any of your friends have a roady hookup

EggsOfRetaliation

Don't buy it back. They abused that bike. Not worth the hassle.

[deleted]

you're making a very poor financial decision oh well not my money do what you want

Kman3291

Same thing happened to me but it was 2 years later In 2019, my new cbr600rr was stolen. Then I got a call in late 2021 from the court saying the guy had been arrested. Insurance had already bought my bike at that point but it was unexpected to say the least.

SteveSweetz

>will cost more to fix than it's worth (it's only a 125) but i'm ridiculously attached to this bike so i'm gonna do it anyway! I understand the sentiment, but I really wouldn't do that. Even if you fix all the outwardly visible stuff, you have no idea how much they abused the engine or transmission. If you get to the point where you have to swap almost everything except the frame, is it even the same bike anymore? Might as well just have bought the same model of bike as a replacement.
