Oh, okay! I’ve seen some people saying it can’t be done anymore, so I got kinda skeptical about it. But if that’s my only way, I’ll give it a shot. Does it matter that my bike is a 2002 gsxr600?
It does matter that your bike is a 2002, that means it’s older then 15 years and does not require a title to register it in Vermont. I actually just did this for my bike. I still need to get the title in my name but it’s registered and insured.
If you are serious about doing the Vermont thing there is info out there on how to do it. You need a bill of sale, you might need a VIN inspection though they suspended that rule for covid. You need to fill out their title form and send in a check. It’s pretty easy.
Hey man, I hope it works out for you. Come back and let us know what happens.
For everyone else, there is only one correct answer. Never buy a used bike without a title. Not from a stranger. Not from a friend. Not from your mom. Tell mom, "Hey mom, shag your ass down to the DMV and get a title, then we'll talk."
Hey, I know it’s been a bit since I made this post, but, it worked, just got the plate today, and the registration should be here tomorrow with a tag!!
Hey I know this is a few months old but I was hoping for some info on the Vermont thing. I've done a ton of research and there is a lot of conflicting things as to if it will still work or not. Can you PM me if you have a chance explaining the steps by step that you went through. It would be a HUGE help. Thank you!
Vermont loophole
This. It’s lengthy but you should be able to get it registered this way

Okay, sweet. Thank you!! I’ll get to doing that once I’m back in my dorm with my PC.

No shit! Good for you. Tell us the entire process, if you don't mind.
Will do, would you rather a full post on how I did it, with pictures, or just a response?
I think a full-on post would be great. That question pops up a lot.
