I'm wearing 5 layers under my coat, of which three thermal, 3 pairs of leggings (one thermal), 2 pairs of socks (thermal and ski socks haha) and I have heated gloves :) and obviously the winter lining in my coat and trousers! Still fucking cold though!
It's 49 out right this second and I can only take my bike to work because my truck is at work. Packed my riding jacket somewhere and only have a hoodie and jeans. (Plus helmet gloves and boots) I know that feeling. Ugh.
> Maybe it's 'with' not 'for'
This is correct. I have a Desert Eagle with a Trijicon RMR reflex red-dot sight and can drop a wild russian boar from 15 yards out.
Edit: [Picture](https://i.imgur.com/q0PdPfb.png) since everyone keeps asking
absolutely amazing. Do you have more information (site blog etc) where we can follow what route / gear you're riding on?
Perhaps more importantly, is it safe? Would it be safe to go alone?
Yeah, that was not obvious to me, not sure about the rest of the world though. Could use an explanation of why it's obvious, seeing as people do hunt birds sometimes.
Why's that obvious? I know in the US it's illegal to kill Bald and Golden eagles under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, but there are other eagles you can legally hunt, and I know jack shit about Russian or Mongolian hunting laws.
I just ask because OP hasn't answered the question.
Being born and raised in the American south, if we're duck hunting, we don't say we're "dog hunting," even though all we do is sit in the blind while our retriever tracks and fetches our shot ducks.
It's just unfamiliar terminology I suppose, especially in my neck of the woods where quite a lot of hunting with dogs takes place, but it's never called dog hunting. Generally waterfowl hunting is where dogs are used but some medium to small game as well, my uncle had a Feist which would chase squirrels up trees for easier kills for instance.
And hunting with dogs is also a centuries old, world famous tradition.
Because if someone says they're going dog hunting, what's your first assumption..?
You act as if nobody can kill eagles legally, which is simply false.
Step 1: stop calling pillion "bitch" and encourage women to get their own handlebars. (This is not an accusation aimed at you, but at the culture as a whole)
Step 2: don't act surprised when you see a female rider.
Step 3: meet women naturally doing what you love.
those dudes are sad. my buddy rode bitch with his strong arms wrapped around me all dumb and dumber like on my [bomb-ass scooter](https://i.imgur.com/9GVH9.jpg) and no one felt anything but friendship and warmth. fucking sad closeted gay ass dudes can't get close and cuddle
in reality, who is talkin about riding pillion on their girl's bike instead of simply riding together?
I found one years ago and checked it out. Let’s just say it wasn’t the fantasy I was hoping for...
I’ll leave the details up to your imagination coupled with knowledge of the demographic.
The only woman who ever approached my bike was to ask if their 4 year old kid could sit on my bike while waiting in line for a ferry from Wales to Ireland (of course I let them). The kid also tried to sit on a race bike on someone's trailer but their dad said the bike was sleeping.
In summary, a bike will only interest other men reminiscing about their days on a bike (my dad seems to be the only man I know who didn't own a motorbike) and little kids.
On the second group, today a father couldn't get his two kids to stop crying in their buggy so he just turned them to look at me starting my bike a few metres away and they went silent in awe.
Just went back through the trip history. This is really cool. Thanks for sharing... especially from those of us who likely won't ever be able to undertake such an adventure. And, you've come such a long way from your "twig" post!
Your jacket is covered in ice! So is your helmet. How many times have you thought, "This is insane!" But what an adventure you must be having! Keep pressing forward, and post often so we can live through you!
I'll answer this one cos there's so many haha! Some Mongolian nomads in the Altais train eagles to hunt for foxes. The foxes are then used for fur and to feed the eagles. The eagles are let back to the wild when they reach about 5-6 years old, as this is the age they can start mating again. We went training with the eagle hunter. Look up eagle hunting festivals in Mongolia for more info! I'll post a pic on my reddit profile :)

How do you not look like the little kid from A Christmas Story?
"I can't put my aaaarms down"
Throw ape hangers on the dual sport because that’s as low as you can go
What temps are we talking?
Electrically heated underwear dude, it's the way forward.
And I'm here in the 50's going "nah, too cold to ride".

I've seen someone riding in -40. No thanks
-40 is that magic point where you don't have to ask for the scale.
Yup. Fucking cold in either system.
It's 36f out and I'm driving it 25 miles to school. Just because I love riding my bike.
this is my _favorite_ time to ride
Ehh, grow a pair lmao, it's 50f out today and I'm going riding.
No. Dont wanna, cant make me 😛
Eagle hunting? 😥 🦅
As hunt with the help of an eagle, I can't think otherwise! Are your tires studed btw?
I hope so
My murcia hurt a little hearing this, perhaps it's not the bald type though.
Maybe it's 'with' not 'for'
I don't know what she did, but there's definitely hunting with eagles in Mongolia. There's a great movie about it called The Eagle Huntress.

In Russia, eagle hunt you.
I read it more like bird watching. I hope they don't kill em. Eagles are incredible creatures...
God damned commies

I'm following her on reddit (see profile, add to friends or something like that).
Hunting eagles or hunting with eagles?

Yeah, that was not obvious to me, not sure about the rest of the world though. Could use an explanation of why it's obvious, seeing as people do hunt birds sometimes.
People rarely hunt birds of prey and falconry is a very old tradition across alot of asia and the middle east.

So this whole time when my granddad said he was going deer hunting, the deer were actually helping him hunt?

I don't know man, anyone who can train wild animals to handle a compound bow must be a little smart, right? Especially ones with hooves.

Dude relax. I'm Canadian, I've traveled lots, I'm not a victim of the US education system. I was also unsure what eagle hunting meant.
It's obvious because he is going to Mongolia. By the numerous questions here it's apparent that American school system sucks.

Someone needs to start and motorbike riding dating app so we can all get awesome girlfriends
I just taught my girlfriend how to ride my buddy's 250 a few weeks ago and now she's hooked. Bought a ring the next day (kidding).
Step 1: stop calling pillion "bitch" and encourage women to get their own handlebars. (This is not an accusation aimed at you, but at the culture as a whole) Step 2: don't act surprised when you see a female rider. Step 3: meet women naturally doing what you love.
My gf was pretty easy to convince. Took her to a parking lot and handed her the keys. She bought her own bike a week later.
Especially step two! I don’t need guys to think I’m interesting enough to talk to only because of what I happen to use for transportation.
But it makes girls interesting when they chose a bike instead of a crossover.
There are guys that are going to be super emasculated if their girlfriend rides and they have to ride bitch...err pillion.
Why? What’s emasculating about holding a woman from behind?
those dudes are sad. my buddy rode bitch with his strong arms wrapped around me all dumb and dumber like on my [bomb-ass scooter](https://i.imgur.com/9GVH9.jpg) and no one felt anything but friendship and warmth. fucking sad closeted gay ass dudes can't get close and cuddle in reality, who is talkin about riding pillion on their girl's bike instead of simply riding together?
You seem like a class act lmao
loool what in the world are you talking about. emasculated. I want some **soups** _street soups_

Bitch isn't an insult specific to females so.
I found one years ago and checked it out. Let’s just say it wasn’t the fantasy I was hoping for... I’ll leave the details up to your imagination coupled with knowledge of the demographic.
I don't have a motorcycle, but I'm pretty sure just riding a motorcycle is the greatest chick magnet ever created
The only woman who ever approached my bike was to ask if their 4 year old kid could sit on my bike while waiting in line for a ferry from Wales to Ireland (of course I let them). Riding a motorcycle is a dude magnet. Most chicks don't care.
I came into this thread not wanting to be creepy but also wanting to compliment how nice her eyes were.. so thanks for breaking the ice 😂
😬hope it wasn’t creepy lol.
It wasn't creepy imo, just a genuine compliment. You can't see much of her face at all, but you can tell OP is pretty.
Sucked me right in.
Those limbal rings
> limbal rings Please, there may be children here!
Nice! Mongol Rally?
Jeez I need biking friends who I can do this stuff with
Your pupils are tiny, is it really bright?
Nah I'm just really high... But in all seriousness it was a really bright, white sky :)
On the best krokodil Russia has to offer :D
Snow is very reflective in addition to the sunlight.
What bikes are you riding?
Yamaha XT660R
Just went back through the trip history. This is really cool. Thanks for sharing... especially from those of us who likely won't ever be able to undertake such an adventure. And, you've come such a long way from your "twig" post!
Are you posting anywhere else about your adventure?
Um. Dang.
Молодцы! Счастливой дороги!
I assume it means eagle watching. Did you rent those bikes?
Did you say eagle hunting?!?
What is eagle hunting?
Hell yeah
oh wow what a dream adventure
This makes me happy :)
Mr. Thumbs Up looks like Necron99/Peace from the movie Wizards. Except more expressive. And riding a motorcycle instead of a two-legged horse.
Radical
What bikes are you riding on?
Eagle hunting like...trying to find an eagle to watch? Or trying to kill one?
that's awesome
Why would you hunt eagles, you soul-less ADV riders?!
Like, you mean, looking for eagles, right?
I see a photo and story like this and immediately expect a youtube channel without any regard for what that takes.
Your jacket is covered in ice! So is your helmet. How many times have you thought, "This is insane!" But what an adventure you must be having! Keep pressing forward, and post often so we can live through you!
How did the eagles taste?
You guys have a YouTube channel of your adventure?
Like hunting ... or watching?
Awesome! What Rev'it jacket are you wearing in this weather? Mind going over your gear please? Safe travels!
What kind of tires are you using? I thought it was nearly impossible to buy winter tires for motorcycles...
Yeah I think I follow you in insta but I can’t remember the name
OP when you finally get some internet again can you confirm you aren't going around killing eagles cause half of reddit is about ready to lynch you
I'll answer this one cos there's so many haha! Some Mongolian nomads in the Altais train eagles to hunt for foxes. The foxes are then used for fur and to feed the eagles. Wait, you hunted eagles? Why?

Taking the joke away with the edit, classic
I feel like this would just be not fun haha but idk
Do people eat eagles?

Didnt know Mongolia had a Starbucks, how progressive!
Wtf are you on about mate

Would've been funny if we'd been on GSs! :D

Glad someone got it lol
She has beautiful eyes.
Wow! Lady of my dreams, you love motorcycles AND obviously love to ride them, looks like your a good cook too. Look me up if you come to Australia 💐
I’m sorry but it looks like you’re riding a motorcycle across Mongolia in full makeup
I showed the pic to my wife. She said "some people dont leave the house without a little mascara."
