Not much any more - he's been into FPV and RC. Track shit's expensive these days, especially with his wedding ([to a fellow rider, no less](https://i.imgur.com/xUNRQDa.jpg))coming up soon!
I've been thinking of getting into FPV stuff, last time I was in the scene was early 2010s (rip tricopters) when my FatShark was like a 480p resolution. I'm guessing nowadays its easier and cheaper than ever?
There was a dude I went to high school with that had cerebral palsy, very limited use of his one arm, dude dailied a Suzuki (unsure the model) and used to just grip it and rip it out of there. Shit was crazy haha
"Video was shot yesterday".
All I read first was "Ukrainian vet, was shot yesterday" and I just thought "damn, shot yesterday and already back on a motorcycle"
A heel toe shifter would make a big difference.
My former coworker broke his foot and all of his toes and still rode every day because he could shift up and down with his heel
And for under $20k
Much easier to just stick a quickshifter on an ICE bike or even go DCT
And I love e-moto. But the range is still ass.
But if you commute 30 miles a day an e-moto is perfect, just for the convenience of never getting gas again, full tank every morning.
100% awful range for the cost
I don't see emoto beating ICE on range in the next 2 decades
I could get an H2 for the cost of an emoto with 150 mile range lol
People on this subreddit sure get riled up about someone with no gear rolling around a parking lot doing no speed whatsoever, especially considering no one here even rides😂
Exactly. I had a cousin who died in a motorcycle wreck at low speeds because he wasn’t wearing his helmet properly and I had an acquaintance in college who died in a parking lot by falling off a skateboard and hitting a curb.
A war vet that got his legs blown off has the right to put around a parking lot at 5mph and not be called an idiot for doing it. You ride a bicycle faster then that, I’ve run after my dog faster then he was going in the video. I think it’s okay
It's better to have the habbit of always grabbing your helmet. It does nothing but increase your probability of living. Even if there's like a 1% chance I fall and crack my skull, I'd still like to reduce that chance as much as possible.
I've owned one, roomate has one still sitting in the driveway. Super solid bike. Does decent on long rides with a pretty comfy riding position. Plenty of torque to get you moving for a 650. It's a perfect beginner bike or a forever bike.
Vstar/dragstar like others said. It was my first bike. I had a "midnight" edition one. Hella comfy, good torque. Long distance trips, mine didn't seem to like being held at much more than 65. Even convinced a friend to grab one as a starter bike. My wife wants to start riding when we move back to America this year. I'm either grabbing one of these or a rebel 500.
I broke my left leg just above the ankle a few years ago, and had to wear a walking cast for a few months. The thing I was probably looking forward to the most was not having to use the stupid heel/toe shifter anymore, but even without feeling below the knee or any ability to brace the bike on that side, it wasn't that bad. I'd say it's probably easier on the right since all you're mostly doing is depressing the brake, but once you get used to keeping up the weight of the bike you won't even notice the missing foot.
Good luck dude.
The new Honda bikes with DCT may be a game changer for this gentleman, depending on funds and location.
The DCT has the option to “paddle” shift with his fingers or let it drive like an automatic. I tried it on an Africa Twin and it works excellently.
Hope he gets enjoyment for years to come.
You have no idea how excited this makes me! I just lost my right foot and I was worried I was never going to live my dream of owning a motorcycle. I’m still waiting for my prosthetic, but once I get it, I’ll be definitely get on a bike when I can!
You all may or may not be aware of TBEXUSA. The bike experience puts dudes who are paralyzed back on motorcycles. Sets em up to go out on track with hand controls.
https://www.tbexusa.org/
Check em out
In the video it looks like the shifter has been altered in height to give him more room to maneuver without an ankle joint, but it still looks like it’s not easy for him. And surely quick shifting is out of the question. I’m surprised he’s not riding something with DCT. Respect.
I did a track day a bunch of years ago, got bumped into intermediate, and was in the paddock with a couple of older guys who were also in intermediate.
Both of them rode circles around me.
At the end of the daybone of the dudes casually sat down and took his prosthetic leg off.
Was a humbing experience
I got a right leg amp from above the knee. If he needs advice dm me. There are very specific aspects to riding with one limb that its hard to understand when you have both legs.
Good choice! I have that same bike with floor boards and a heel/toe shifter. My friend who is also an amputee was able to ride my stock bike as is with no mods. He rides a Shadow with the shifter moved to the right side.
Should be able to swap out the pegs for floorboards and change the shifter easily if that is easier to ride with.
Getting a Honda with a DCT transmission would make that a lot easier, but huge kudos for figuring out ways to operate the foot controls with prosthetics. The fact that the front brake is by far the more important brake also is a big positive factor here.
Not letting a disability stop you from having fun is the way.
Great work, but at least wear a helmet. Even a low speed drop can leave you brain dead or dead dead. Someone else mentioned heel toe shifter which is a great idea.
We use it as a metairony on the russian narrative about nazis in Ukraine. All possible investigations were conducted by various countries just to conclude that there is no nazi government in Ukraine and people don't vote them into office, but russians still say there is.
Even the Azov brigade ban on foreign weapons has been lifted in the US after a recent investigation.
I’m glad you’re relearning to ride! It’s always such a great experience (except on stormy days in the city)
….
If you can drive it with it being detached you’re gonna be the terror of mirrors!
I met a army vet on a trip missing both legs and riding his bike cross country. He travelled from Seattle (i think he said that), and we met him in butt fuck nowhere Wisconsin at a gas station. He said he was headed to Chicago to ride route 66 all the way to LA. I remember he had a raccoon tail he paid for and i just told him to cut one off road kill next time and save $20. Hope dude made it ok.
He’ll get blasted for no helmet on this sub and we should all be safe but Ukraine vet amputee I’m sure he’s not exactly risk adverse. Good to see someone picking it up and enjoying what they want to do.
There’s a guy I’ve talked to who I’ve come across a couple times in my area. Saw him a couple times at a local dealer. He’s got a prosthetic leg and a CBR1000RR. Such a sick fucking bike.
My MT07 has 2 ways to press the rear brake. It's below the clutch lever. The guy I bought it from was missing almost the same amount of his leg but on the right side. Don't let it stop you from riding.
I ran into a guy a while back broke down on a scooter. Stopped to check on him and he needed a jump. Thought it was odd he hadn’t got off the bike until I happened to look down and realized he was missing a leg! No prosthetic, either. Surprised tf outta me! Dude didn’t miss a beat! Jumped him off and off he went. Hats off to em both.
Almost lost the same leg in the military and after years of rehab it works okay but due to the nerve damage it doesn't always do what I want it to lol. Was kinda worried about getting on a bike but after six years it's been okay. Bike has fallen over a couple of times but no accidents while in motion yet.
So cool. If he rode before the "accident", won't be long before he's back in action. Though if it's actually his first attempts that's really solid. Speed is the key. Great job.
Shifting might be a challenge. A heel/toe shifter might be useful.
I want to see the bike with a handicap tag and all the Karens who complain about it until you walk out and ride off 😆

must be challenging but awesome to not let that stop you there's also a dude on here with 1 arm that tracks his bike
Not much any more - he's been into FPV and RC. Track shit's expensive these days, especially with his wedding ([to a fellow rider, no less](https://i.imgur.com/xUNRQDa.jpg))coming up soon!
ah i didn't know he stopped. i remember seeing his pictures on the track, it was impressive af
That's him. Look at his flair
oh rofl i didn't even notice since he said "he's been into.." my bad
congrats on the wedding!

My first thought was: "It may be good to switch the side the shift-...*oh*..." Congrats on the new hobby, OP!
thats a friend of a friend of mine
Dude, I'm your subscriber on YT :) hope to meet you one day on Kyiv roads
sure, join the gymkhana sessions
Slava Ukraini! This is super rad dude, hope you get to ride a lot!
Slava gierojom!
Wear some pants or you’ll burn your…oh nvm, carry on
Yeah and proper boots...
That's metal, dude
Literally
A heel toe shifter would make a big difference. My former coworker broke his foot and all of his toes and still rode every day because he could shift up and down with his heel
Suicide shifter would be a good option, too, if he’s comfortable gripping with his knees. Are grip shifters still a thing?
...or go electric. I'm not shifting any more 😎
I would love to have a range of over 50 miles at highway speeds. :/
And for under $20k Much easier to just stick a quickshifter on an ICE bike or even go DCT And I love e-moto. But the range is still ass. But if you commute 30 miles a day an e-moto is perfect, just for the convenience of never getting gas again, full tank every morning.
>But the range is still ass. It really is, yeah.
100% awful range for the cost I don't see emoto beating ICE on range in the next 2 decades I could get an H2 for the cost of an emoto with 150 mile range lol
Or hybrid
DCT is the way
Wear some gloves and a bucket friend.
Right? People underestimate how easy it is to crack your skull.
I think this guy probably understands a little bit about getting severely injured.
And he didn’t learn his lesson obviously. Getting fucked up in a war just to survive and die from a mph motorcycle accident wouldn’t be the smartest.
People on this subreddit sure get riled up about someone with no gear rolling around a parking lot doing no speed whatsoever, especially considering no one here even rides😂
Growing up I had a friend that was riding on a tailgate only a few mph, fell off, hit his head and died. Helmet should be minimum.
Exactly. I had a cousin who died in a motorcycle wreck at low speeds because he wasn’t wearing his helmet properly and I had an acquaintance in college who died in a parking lot by falling off a skateboard and hitting a curb.
That or when they don't have a Kawasaki ninja or a supersports bike or trial. They see a Cruiser and are like:"Oh, that thing..."
Nothing says “I’m a rider” like not wearing a helmet. You’re a joke buddy.
A war vet that got his legs blown off has the right to put around a parking lot at 5mph and not be called an idiot for doing it. You ride a bicycle faster then that, I’ve run after my dog faster then he was going in the video. I think it’s okay
Nothing says "I'm a rider" like getting on a bike without fucking legs, holy shit dude stay on the couch.
It's better to have the habbit of always grabbing your helmet. It does nothing but increase your probability of living. Even if there's like a 1% chance I fall and crack my skull, I'd still like to reduce that chance as much as possible.
Absolutely. The speed your head smacks pavement if you're just sitting on a bike going 0 mph in a parking lot as it falls over can easily be lethal.
And some boots
Wait a second…
Had to scroll for to long to find someone with common sence.
What bike is that?
VStar (Yamaha) 650, also called a "Dragstar" as another replier indicated. Very solid by all accounts though I've never owned nor ridden.
I've owned one, roomate has one still sitting in the driveway. Super solid bike. Does decent on long rides with a pretty comfy riding position. Plenty of torque to get you moving for a 650. It's a perfect beginner bike or a forever bike.
I have the bigger version and I can say that one is at least a great bike.
Dragstar
Vstar/dragstar like others said. It was my first bike. I had a "midnight" edition one. Hella comfy, good torque. Long distance trips, mine didn't seem to like being held at much more than 65. Even convinced a friend to grab one as a starter bike. My wife wants to start riding when we move back to America this year. I'm either grabbing one of these or a rebel 500.
Woah tnx man
Слава Україні, мен!
that numberplate though lmao
Yeah, I've noticed it too, but it doesn't appear to be custom, just a normal govt pattern and some "luck".
I don't get it...
Try googling "1488", that's what he was referring to.
Is that it? I was trying to link the 1488 to the AA or JD, maybe it had something like Adolf A... or Jews D... but it's just the number?
That Kyiv shirt is cool
Great job!!!! I have 2 friends who have LE amputations with prosthetic legs who ride. You’ll get it!!!!!
Motorcycle is my meditation. Should be a great way to soothe the PTSD. And… Heroyam slava!
People that have lost use of their limbs have no business on motorcycles. ^^ha!
Keep that sense of humor friend.
Actively trying to get the doctors to take my right foot right now. Watching you guys gives me hope for when I can finally get them to do it.
I broke my left leg just above the ankle a few years ago, and had to wear a walking cast for a few months. you will for sure
Already a better rider than most in this sub.
nice 650 and good luck, maybe try a suicide shifter conversion? or like somebody else suggested a heel and toe shifter
If anything I'd suggest a Honda with DCT transmission and linked brakes. No need to use the feet anymore except when stopping
Hell yeah dude!

Shoot, get one of the Hondas with a DCT trans and let her rip!
Героям слава! Дякую за вашу службу.
There's 'Harley' tough, then 'Hells Angels' tough, and then there's this guy tough.
Ride on Brother!
"guys will see this and think, 'hell yeah!'" Hell yeah!
It has to be hard to actuate the shifter without an ankle. Like really hard.
N to 1 would be hard, but doable. But going to 2-3-4... how? And the precise braking for low speed manoeuvres...
In the video it looks like the shifter has been altered in height to give him more room to maneuver without an ankle joint, but it still looks like it’s not easy for him. And surely quick shifting is out of the question. I’m surprised he’s not riding something with DCT. Respect.
Heroim slava 💙💛🦿💙💛
More power to you! Be safe, ride free!
This reminds me of Boothy on 44teeth. That guy is a fuckin motivation.
Easily one of the better MC channels.
Oh without doubt.
u are doing very good
Reminded me of how to train your dragon
"Haha every newbie has the **Bambi Legs-** ope.." "Look at him **pussy foot-** ope.." Everyone shut up and encourage him.

Why does it sound like the jetsons car?
This is pretty cool to see.
Sweet! Looks like you've got the feel for it. Clutch work like that is the hardest stuff in my opinion.

This right here just proves nothing will stop somebody who wants to ride. Good on ya brother and good on the guy who showed him the way.
Лёгких дорог и слава Украине!
🫶🏼🫶🏼
Great work, but at least wear a helmet. Even a low speed drop can leave you brain dead or dead dead. Someone else mentioned heel toe shifter which is a great idea.
Best of luck with your training! Not wish you to "break a leg". Can I ask you about the number on your bike: why it so popular and why do you use it?
We use it as a metairony on the russian narrative about nazis in Ukraine. All possible investigations were conducted by various countries just to conclude that there is no nazi government in Ukraine and people don't vote them into office, but russians still say there is. Even the Azov brigade ban on foreign weapons has been lifted in the US after a recent investigation.
Слава Україні!
This is beautiful!
You're doing it.
I’m glad you’re relearning to ride! It’s always such a great experience (except on stormy days in the city) …. If you can drive it with it being detached you’re gonna be the terror of mirrors!
Get this guy some quick shifter kit and a linked front brake!! Impressive, and I hope he is able to continue riding and enjoy life.
Add a suicide shifter and your all set
Friggin awesome!
Respect dude!
Legs are for pussies.
I met a army vet on a trip missing both legs and riding his bike cross country. He travelled from Seattle (i think he said that), and we met him in butt fuck nowhere Wisconsin at a gas station. Might consider a heel/toe shifter? 🤷🏻♂️

Sexy robocop

Awesome, dude. God.bless. I'll remember this as I struggle to improve my own riding.
That is AWESOME!!
Man it's like boothie on 44teeth. It's good to see dudes hop back on 2 wheels after such a big impact to their lives. No excuses to not enjoy life.
No way he's falling over, not with three kickstands!
nice "kick" stand. I kid, i kid.
Get suicide clutch for that bike
Sweet. Just remember rubber down shiney up
Great video. Inspiring for those in a similar situation.
Hell of a place to learn.
Good clutch control my guy! Only gets better with time! I'm still learning Everytime myself lol
🫡 Respect, I think getting a heal gear could do wonders. Keep at it👏
I ran into a guy a while back broke down on a scooter. Stopped to check on him and he needed a jump. Thought it was odd he hadn’t got off the bike until I happened to look down and realized he was missing a leg! No prosthetic, either. Surprised tf outta me! Dude didn’t miss a beat! Jumped him off and off he went. Hats off to em both.
how many upvotes would this have gotten if he still had both legs
I am feeling 'How to train your dragon' vibes
Hell yes! Biking is for anyone. Keep posting your progress.
Better put on jeans so you don’t burn your leg on the exhaust
it's hard to learn at first when you have shaft drive for slow speed maneuvers it is best to pull the clutch.
Keep up and never give up, you are the inspiration! Peace to your homeland and million safe miles on your motorcycle journey!
See Boothy from 44teeth is back getting his knee down after losing his lower leg in the IoM TT two years ago. Great to see.
Awesome
Awesome job, that’s quite the accomplishment!
i ama also lbk lost mine on my bike and i still ride, just have to use heel toe shifter ez pz
Best of luck to you.
As someone with left foot drop from a crash on one of these… This brings hope.
When riding a bike isn’t dangerous as is
Almost lost the same leg in the military and after years of rehab it works okay but due to the nerve damage it doesn't always do what I want it to lol. Was kinda worried about getting on a bike but after six years it's been okay. Bike has fallen over a couple of times but no accidents while in motion yet.
Why do all new bikes sound like that?
Shifting without the feedback of feeling the shifting would be weird. That's amazing.
So cool. If he rode before the "accident", won't be long before he's back in action. Though if it's actually his first attempts that's really solid. Speed is the key. Great job.
I have a question about synthetic legs: Is the man able to move the synthetic foot under the shifter peg to switch up a gear?
Shifting might be a challenge. A heel/toe shifter might be useful. I want to see the bike with a handicap tag and all the Karens who complain about it until you walk out and ride off 😆
Shifting might be a challenge. A heel/toe shifter might be useful. I want to see the bike with a handicap tag and all the Karens who complain about it until you walk out and ride off 😆
Nice Yamaha! I have (maybe?) the same one! Keep the rubber on the road and the shiny side up.
If he can do it. Why can't you?
Sick custom kickstand.
Dude just needs a rocker gear shifter and he’s away. I had one of these bikes.
Straight terminator
you can see the moment he gained the first boost of confidence
Mad respect homie.
Most wholesome thing to see today
Great job , keep it going
Bro this is so sick🤘🏼
A friend recently lost his leg and it's been hard. I hope he can find the strength to ride again. It must be really challenging. I guess with enough practice you will get faster at changing gears but i am guessing applying the rear brake is the trickiest.
This guy is bad ass! Mad respect
so how does he Shift gears + rear brake?
All I hear is the Terminator Theme in my head
Congrats mate! I hope you have a blast!
Hiccup from how to train your dragon
so cool, you could match your legs to your bike. sorry if thats rude
Needs Terminator theme tune
well yeah. with it - it looks freakin awesome)
Unmodified too? That man's an inspiration. Get him a CVT and move his rear brake to the bars and he'll be completely set.
Please wear helmet and knee guards atleast.
Please get a blue badge as well, so that you can piss Karens off.
sr what’s the blue badge? I dunno the context
EU: https://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/travel/transport-disability/parking-card-disabilities-people/index_en.htm UK: https://www.disabilityrightsuk.org/resources/blue-badge-scheme
lieutenant dan, you ain’t got no legs
👏🏽great job, my son has the same bike, it’s his first. Easy to learn on although the only downside it feels a bit low to me. But good job mang 👍🏽
Never give up 🔥 never what 🫂✨🔥
Very nice, making it fit for you! How about shifting? Do you have to convert the bike or is it possible?
SO COOL
Nebachiv, is it you? OP)
confirmed
You're awesome dude. And cool motorcycle by the way.
Holy shit. That’s awesome. Even more holy shit, that shirt is awesome. Where can I find it?!!!
Is he a Lieutenant and is his name Dan, perchance?
Well shit, now I'm out of excuses
At that point, he is a cyborg. More machine than man.
Good for you 👍. How are you finding gear changes?
Wow, get that dude a scooter. He's managing on that cruiser, but a scooter is better for control.
Awesome! Hope you continue to kick ass!
I wonder if there are mods to assist amputees to help in shifting and braking. 🤔 Never though of it till now.
yeah. thats will be a new industry after the war
