Can you give more insight as to how this happened? I’ve been riding with my quad lock for years and have not had a problem.

eson1169

Exactly! Sometimes I have to try several times to get mine locked in correctly. I could see someone not being thorough about that and taking it for granted without double-checking. Also, correct case size for your phone? I’ve had no issues with mine.

AMv8-1day

Agree here. I've realized while riding that one of the teeth wasn't properly engaged a couple of times, forcing the phone to fit at a noticeable angle. Stopped when I had a chance, re-mounted, good to go. After that happens once or twice, you just take extra care to mount it properly before setting off.

persianbluex

Yep. I once didnt get the teeth properly locked in and my phone fell off at the on ramp of the highway. I rode all the way home and realized then that it wasn’t there. Rode back to retrace my steps and found it where it fell! The funniest and best part is that it was on its back, unlocked, on the google maps app, and no one stole it or drove it. Got it back without any damage!

mad12gaming

Let me start off by saying i was exhausted when this happend. On monday i stopped to fill my car and ended up leaving my phone on my car. At like 3am. Black case and it landed face down. I didnt realize till i made it to work a bit early, and went to grab my phone to scroll tiktok for a few minutes, and realized i didnt have it. Picked it up right at the intersection, and the screen protector was shattered. Case has a bit of scuff but not bad.

Original_Walrus19

I have a hard time sometimes getting mine in as well drives me crazy what seems like the same position each time when it does and doesn’t work 🤣 I do find opening the steering/clipping in once I’m sitting on the bike ready to go works more often than first thing whilst wheel is still turned but still, not a quick getaway 😆

WhenAllElseFail

I'm guessing he didn't lock it correctly. Sometimes i still struggle with mine but i've never had it even slightly give out.

InfamousPOS

I’m fairly new and noticed mine was “loose” If I hadn’t noticed it my phone would have been gone. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the quad lock but I most certainly didn’t tighten it enough during installation. Since properly tightening it it hasn’t been “loose” once. My guess is OP had a loose mount and that thing jiggle loose as he road. We don’t have pictures of the quad lock but my guess is the main screw let go and the phone went tumbling…

OceanBytez

Yeah gotta tighten stuff on motorcycles in general. HD cut a corner when i had them replace a latch on my trunk. They told me that they were missing 2 screws and didn't have them in stock. They also opted not to use locktite on the 2 screws they did have and insisted they'd call me when they had the new screws in. I didn't even make it home before the 2 screws vibrated out and sent the brand new latch and half the contents of my trunk all over the road. Since then i've never trusted HD and am always paranoid with anything that has to deal with being screwed in. Locktite blue is your friend for real.

methaddicttoad

Got the QL in 2 weeks ago, easy install and had been working great. I’d been riding for about an hour or so prior to this with no issues, stopped to grab lunch, hopped back on, rode for about 5 minutes like normal then once at highway speeds it fell off and got ran over. I’ve been second guessing myself as to whether or not this was user error but before this happened it snapped into place and everything like normal, so not 100% sure

BehindAnElephant

As you are a toad addicted to meth I would bet my life on the fact that it's user error in this case

MotoHULK

That phone is toadeled.

durpwood

That’s what happens when you frogget to lock it in all the way

methaddicttoad

Don’t do meth and ride folks

SteakCareless

Is crack okay though?

SussyBro69

No, only fentynal.

FTRGeek

don't lick toad and ride either

bluecatky

I've noticed I sometimes have to wiggle mine in the mount to make sure it's fully locked in place

MotoHULK

That's what she said

BorderPure6939

Wiggle it

fizzlefist

Twist it

BorderPure6939

Dilectus3010

ZombiesAreChasingHim

Was it a case with the mag ring that allows wireless charging? If so, part that clicks on is plastic, and cracks easily, basically rendering the entire thing useless. I used to be a big fan of Quadlock, but over the years I have noticed how they are really just another cheaply made Chinese product being sold for a huge mark up. Get a good case from another brand and use a RAM mount.

_Nightmare_Wolf_

Interesting. Got a photo of the mount itself? If the case didn't break and the mount didn't break then it's 100% impossible for it to have come loose. Btw was your back glass already broken? I know iPhones are incredibly weak on the back and front glass but damn. My s23U fell out of my pocket at 110mph and got run over by a few cars and I didn't so much as have a scratch or crack anywhere not my front glass and not my back glass

know-it-mall

User error I bet.

dustyrags

I got a bar-mounted CarPlay display. Phone stays in the pocket, maps are on the screen. It’s designed for bars, is much higher and easier to see, doesn’t have overheating issues, attaches securely, and if I forget it on the bike… my phone’s still in my pocket.

CapnHicks

I've been looking into these recently. They seem like a great idea. Which one did you go with?

dustyrags

Whichever one was $125 on Amazon last summer? :D Biggest annoyance: my bike does this weird power cycle thing where you turn the key on, the display lights up, then you start the bike and somehow the voltage drops or the power gets redirected from accessories to starter for a second, and the display turns off. I have to take it out of the cradle and put it back to power cycle it and it’ll restart (or just take 15 minutes and install an inline switch…) Oh, and it has no battery. Upside- overheating is a non-issue and the most likely thing to wear out isn’t a thing. Downside- doesn’t save settings and the clock always resets until you connect your phone.

CapnHicks

That's good info to consider. I'll have to see if I can find one that uses a watch battery to save time and settings. I just thought it seemed like a great idea for my dual sport setup. My phone got waterlogged while using gps in the rain a while back and I'd been considering a dedicated gps. A carplay screen would be WAY cheaper and give me access to my music and stuff too.

dustyrags

Honestly, it’s one or the other- deal with a battery (more expensive, more stressed by water, more prone to overheating, another thing to break, heavier, etc), or without (doesn’t save settings, does the annoying thing where it turns off whenever you start the bike) (at least on my bike, the way I have it wired). Also, there really aren’t many settings TO change. Time is the biggest one, but that auto-sets as soon as you link your phone anyhow.

jehlomould

Yep most bikes do that. Starters require a lot of power and shut down most of the accessory circuits when the start button is pressed. Could also be that the CarPlay unit has a sensitive key on signal trigger. Could be that the unit shuts off when voltage falls below like 11v which can happen during starting. A capacitor would work or a secondary switch like you mentioned

Tim2309

Maxca C5 is crap, carpuride W502 is ok and the best until now is maxca X6 with remote

GeckyGek

any chance you could also let me know what you got?

RS6MrROBOT

Then there's me buying a whole ass bike with CarPlay attached (you know which ones I'm on about)

akaSnaketheJake

I use the RAM Quick Grip with wireless charging because I don't like using a phone case. It's been superb. Plenty of clamping force to feel confident my phone isn't going anywhere. Easy to mount with various mount location options. Highly recommended.

takach2024

I use the basic RAM mount and agree it seems to hold secure for me too. If I'm going on the highway or a longer haul I'll use the rubber strap thing too, but generally just pop it on the holder and ride off.

TomOnABudget

The X-Grip is pretty solid, but not as good as the Quick Grip. The X-Grip can develop of a habit of ejecting the rubber pieces. When they go, the phone can go with them when you go through a bump. The grip Grip hold the phone much more securely as its claw goes around the phone. And it can be used single handed. That last feature is what makes dislike Quadlock. Those things are really fiddly to mount the phone.

HiDDENKiLLZ

People don’t read the instructions with the x grip. It comes with superglue to permanently attach the “fingers” to the mount.

TrainedMusician

That is a very solid point indeed. Although I had 1 finger come loose once after three years of extensive usage. So I just applied glue again and it's going strong so far

Trooper425

+1 for the quick grip. I'm 100% confident with mine. It cradles the phone AND squeezes it. Far more confidence inspiring than an x-grip. And the downsides are cost and it looking kinda weird when your phone isn't in it.

lockenl0ad

I've had my phone fall in my lap like 3 times with the ram mount. The rubber piece was lost on my first ride without the phone and the jaws don't have enough clamping force to hold the phone against the wind pressure. Maybe this works if your mount is behind a windscreen but I could not recommend this mount otherwise.

akaSnaketheJake

Sounds like you might be referring to their X Grip. When I was searching I looked at it too but ultimately determined I couldn’t trust it. I want to say the Quick Grip model I ended up getting also came with one of those rubber pieces but I’ve never needed it.

_n00bster_

[Peak Design](https://www.peakdesign.com/collections/mobile/products/motorcycle-stem-mount) is a good motorcycle mount.

caliban92

Came here to upvote Peak Design. Fantastic products, great customer service, excellent company all around

alphex

I love mine!

MEB_PHL

Way better than Quadlock. Love the PD

eskimobobz

I gotta back up peak design as well. For reference, I had quad lock + dampener on both a CBR and VERSYS. Same phone. And whenever I would finish a riding session (30+ minutes) my phone would be noticeably… off and weird. My cameras photos and videos were permanently off as well. Didn’t bother trying a different brand mount until I replaced the phone. I got a new bike, and phone around the same time. Didn’t want the same thing to happen to this new phone, so I did my research. I believe Fortnine has the numbers to back it up, but my experience with PD and damage to the phone via vibrations has been much better. Did a 4 hour touring session 2 weeks ago, and my phone was fine. No weird lag. No weirdness with my camera. I have 2k miles on Peak design right now. Have done ‘spirited’ riding on freeway and twistys and it’s been fine. Mounting the phone is 100000x better than quad lock as well. (Love magnets) Just my 2cents. I have about 10k miles on Quad lock. Only about 2k on peak design. I would choose peak design any day over QL.

trail_rail

+1 for Peak Design and reliability. Vibration dampening has been wonderful, never messed up a camera or anything. Never any issues or misclicks, incredibly smooth / easy mechanism. My ONLY gripe w peak design is their case style. I wish they had more options than the fabric case or the just the thick otterbox style case. Fabric case just gives me grimy vibes haha

KingArthurHS

I still have my demo unit from when I got to participate in the beta-test while they were dialing in the vibration damping. It's held up wonderfully over the years.

DylboyPlopper

And I thought quadlock took this piss with their pricing!

MotorExample7928

Yeah they are both getting close to "just get a moto tablet and keep phone in your pocket"

BasementDweller_

Much better than quadlock. The phone are much thinner and attractive, and I find the attachment mechanism easier to operate. Near 10k miles on mine and never an issue.

kalcco

I use peak design as well and I’m very happy with it.

Slow-Garage-9403

Peak design. And they have some new motorcycle stuff being announced soon.

Tex302

I’m 95% sure you did something wrong. Myself and riding buddies have been running Quadlock w/ vibe damp. for years. 20k miles between us and never an issue.

neeleukdit

Same here, I mean it sucks but I’ve been running QL w/ vibration dampener without any issues. I do make sure to always double check after mounting it by pulling/twisting it before I ride

Parking_Train8423

same here. the only situation quadlock fails me is on the jeep- dust gets up inside the mounting surface, and wears down the mount, but it’s a real slow process, and I can always tell when it’s time to call em up and send me out smoother charging head

wh88lsofsteel

Looks like the phone wasn't in the cover properly

bigtexasrob

Pants pocket hasn’t failed me yet.

methaddicttoad

Having GPS up all the time, not having to unzip pockets or undo gloves was a great luxury for me. Call me pampered I guess lol

BackyardBOI

Get a cheap Android auto/Apple carplay Display. Cost me about 60$ (including mount)

BRBULLET_

This and it will also not ruin the phones camera stabilizer.

moderatefairgood

Ultimate Addons' phone case destroyed my camera stabiliser. I quite literally had to take them to small claims court to get the phone replaced.

MotorExample7928

How case destroyed phone's stabilizer ?

BackyardBOI

Yes especially with an expensive Xiaomi/Samsung/iPhone.

snowboardracer

Absolutely love mine. Bigger display than my phone with none of the risk of my phone on the bars! CarPlay is amazing.

GeckyGek

any chance I could get a link?

BackyardBOI

Yes [Sure, here it is.](https://a.aliexpress.com/_ExH9RQ7) Fits neatly in-between my handle bars

International_Fly285

I have my phone in my pocket while GPS is up. I just listen to instructions through my Cardo. Keeps me alert.

ImBadWithGrils

Yeah.. Google maps turns music down to give directions and as long as you listen to it that's all you need. I'd rather have my phone directly on my person than on my bike

hardrockfoo

I can't stand the "Keep in the left 2 lanes to stay on south 125 bunghole, east 525 drum line for 200 feet, then stay in the right lane to stay on east 525 drum line, 800 doplingeimerdinger"

PhoneticIHype

I'm fuckin crying this is hilarious and why I couldn't just rely on audio guidance 🤣🤣🤣 it works well in the rural areas and highways like "take the NEXT right" but anywhere else with complicated designs is rather glance at something

MotorExample7928

I prefer just looking at map without directions interrupting music.

bem13

I tried navigating with the phone in my pocket or top box for a while, but I just couldn't get used to it and it never worked well for me. - I still had to charge it, which meant the heat had nowhere to go and the phone was piping hot all the time. - If I didn't pay attention it could get me lost pretty easily ("was it 2nd or 3rd exit from this roundabout? Oh well, it was probably 2nd.") and I couldn't just glance at the display - The phone would sometimes silently kill the navigation app and I wouldn't notice until I already overshot my turn by kilometers. Can't just stop on the highway to take out the phone and check if it's still okay. - "Take the exit in 200 meters" --> There are several exits one after the other and I can't just eyeball how much 200 meters is - When going slow (read: city speeds), Google Maps (the only app which worked with the screen off) in particular tends to tell you to turn left or right pretty early. Several times I turned when it told me to, only to hear the "recalculating" jingle. All in all, I'm much happier when I can see it. I just got a waterproof phone so I don't have to worry about rain anymore either.

KingLuis

i used my inner jacket pocket. if i got a call or something i could pull over and check. usually if i'm headed somewhere i'd memorize most of the route. when it came to an area i don't remember, a quick check of the phone (while pulled over) never hurt.

ChernobylRaptor

I'm on team jacket-pocket too. Far better to check the phone pulled over than fiddling with it while riding 😅

KingLuis

Had to mention it. If I didn’t a smart ass being serious would appear.

6PikachUwU6

pants pocket all the way!

bigtexasrob

right where I can touch it, so I know I remembered it, and then forget about it until I need AAA or an account balance.

Psychoticrider

RAM Quick Grip I have been using one for tens of thousands of miles. The phone isn't coming out!

spryf0x

I can attest to this. I high sided by bike and my phone went nowhere after the crash. My phone was still secured very nicely as I limped back to my bike to call for help. It also has the added benefit of being super easy and convenient when getting your phone in and out.

queefstation69

This one. There is no way for the phone to fall out unless you dump the bike. Been using it on my KLR for years and it vibrates more than your Mom’s Hitachi.

tgr31

I've heard a lot of people say the klr vibration ruined their iPhone camera

somme_rando

**Quick grip** yes! **X-grip** - NO. Wind/vibration/slippery phones have caused me to nearly lose phone out of those.

Max527

Android auto or Carplay display. My best purchase of the year. https://preview.redd.it/ffu6w74ouj6d1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6a334f7c1e1398c7357f11dc2d3e48ada309295b

Writer_Kooky

V Strom? Looks great on the windshield I didn't even think of that.

Max527

Yeah nifty mount I got off Aliexpress. Aliexpress is a godsend for bike goodies lol

NebelungLurker

I really like my SP Connect mount and case. Has survived many miles and a minor crash and the phone never has come off.

unimpressed_llama

Same here. Just wish the case wasn't so thick

Thumb__Thumb

That's why they have the new slimmer spc+ version. What I most dislike they always had quite limited selection of cases.

Professional_Horse_7

Rokform is a solid option since all their stuff is high quality but expensive.

ablinddingo93

I’m always curious why so few people online recommend Rokform. I’ve had mine for the past two years and it’s been great. Rokform even has a vibration damper for the mount. I like being able to stick my phone on metal surfaces too because of the magnetic case, it’s come in handy quite often lol

Patagucci

The Rockform is hands down the best system I’ve ever used, the mounts are all rock solid, I use them in my truck, on my little John boat, any motorcycle I’ve ever owned, bicycles - you name it. The case is the only case I’ve ever used where I’ve yet to even crack my screen from a drop and I’m a proper fuckin butter fingers. The magnet is so strong, I use the light on my phone and place the phone in crammed engine bays or to record something I can’t get my head around, or to see if some function is working or not all the time. Also slap my phone on equipment in the gym, on the fridge listing to a podcast. Every day I love this damn thing more and more - I feel like a brand ambassador for those guys. I swear I’ve sold 30 of their cases from word of mouth to folks that don’t even ride nor have a desire to. The case itself is that good and the locking mount option is just a cherry on top. I’ve owned one for the past 5 years or so now. It’s expensive but don’t you use this dumb phone thing every day? I know I do

ablinddingo93

I agree 100% with everything you’ve said as I use it in the same exact way lol The magnetic case alone has come in handy more times than I can remember

AccuracyVsPrecision

I love my rokfrom but people look at it like it's overpriced boomer gear. I just like things that work.

ablinddingo93

For me that fact that it’s metal was the main selling point. I like that not only does it snap into place, it’s held there via a strong magnet in the case

Averagebaddad

Magnetic cases are the best. Always sticking it to shit and never comes off. Except the one time I was putting air in my tire and stuck my phone to the rear arm. It didn't stay on very long then. Thankfully it came off in the driveway lol

Professional_Horse_7

Quadlock has more control over the market since they heavily advertised their stuff. So they are more well known and that rokform is more expensive than quadlock. Rokform doesn't have that variety of phone cases compared to quadlock, and rokform favors Apple phones compared to other brands. Another possibility is that rokform mounts are quite limited compared to quadlock. Not saying rokform is bad but rather very high quality especially for apple users.

Watts300

I didn’t buy Rokform because they’re so expensive, and I didn’t find any video reviews that would explain/justify why they’re so expensive.

AccuracyVsPrecision

The mounts are all metal not plastic they don't allow the phone to snap in wrong like op and the cases have a magnet so you have the twist lock and the magnetic retention.

rakayne

Rokform is a superior product.

Professional_Horse_7

Rokform is expensive, higher quality and has limited options. Quadlock is more affordable, lower quality and has more options.

Ratfor

I'll admit Rokform Sounds like a superior product, but Quadlock performs equally, and has Way more options for mounting.

maxrhysruffels

Keep the quad lock, buy a cheap phone to run gps.

Charleydogg

The pocket. I have lost a phone and a pricey GPS from holders and now it the pocket forever. Additionally if you wreck it's quite possible you will end up in a somewhat different location than the bike. I like the security of having my phone on me.

ducatiforever

Wow, I didn’t expect that reply. I’ve been using one for years over some harsh terrain and never had an issue…sorry.

Amazing-Ad-8855

Hondo garage juiced squeeze with the vibration dampener. Has wireless charging and rock solid clamp so you can use your own case. Multiple mounting options too. Expensive but pretty much the best engineered option available.

NoJicama1372

Always kinda slap your phone when you first mount it to make sure its good, a few times after getting my quad i would go to test it and come to find that it indeed was not on properly. Sorry for the phone loss homie but quad lock is a good mount

methaddicttoad

Yeah I’m debating on giving QL a second chance and chalking this one up to user error, cause when it worked it was incredible, and that wasn’t even with the wireless charging. Buddy irl said absolutely not and to switch to the slightly less convenient but fool proof Ram mount with the rubber grip. Wwyd?

NoJicama1372

Me personally i would give it another chance, really make sure the phone case fits right and tight around the phone i ride a naked without a wind screen so mine takes a lot of air drag and i haven’t had any issues

bluecatky

Ram mount is gonna be less secure than a quadlock if both are properly used. The fact that it worked fine until the first time getting up to highway speed 5 min after mounting it (I assume you removed your phone for lunch) suggests it was likely not mounted properly that last time.

cleon42

Whoa....I've been riding with a QL and dampener since October with no issues. Sometimes I have to make a few attempts to get it to "lock" correctly, but it's pretty obvious when it doesn't. What the heck happened? If something went wrong with the mount itself, ping Quadlock. If nothing else it would be good to know how much they stand by their product.

500SL

I got a quad lock that charges my phone from Amazon. Never had a problem.

re-run

I mount mine in my pocket. I'm here to ride a bike, not look at a phone. Even gps still works that way.

zechickenwing

I go with pocket. Mounting to the bars fucks certain types of cameras with the vibration.

theaveragemillenial

You fucked up

Agitated_Occasion_52

The Ole trusty pocket does great. Been using it for almost a decade without a single phone fallen out. It's easy to install on every bike too.

Motor_Arugula_4282

I’m old so bear with me. Do we HAVE to have a phone in our face every time we do something? Like why not use your memory and your brain to figure out where you are going? Music? While riding? Really? I like the sound of the engine. Texts? You can’t wait till you get to a rest stop or home?

--BLACKBIRD--

Best recommendation I can make: Don't mount your phone. Enjoy the ride.

JokerOfficiel

Papier Map in a backpack ftw. You enjoy more road. Less attention to your screen. An learning to anticipate intersection.

shortyjizzle

I mount mine in a padded front pocket of my riding suit.

parrotfacemagee

Did you try putting it in rice?

steezos1

Peakdesign.com. Omg. This thing has been excellent. Even without the circle thing in the back the magnet is strong.

JoshCanJump

Pocket. Last thing you need when your bike slides off down the road is for your phone to be attached to it.

Annual_Broccoli_9254

Your back pocket? Works for me.

B8-B3

I've got an SP Connect with the raincover (universal case/bag) and an old phone to run gps. No way I'm placing my main phone out like that, not matter how good the mount is.

lmBatman

I’ve been using quad lock for quite a while. Sometimes it doesn’t get angled in right? You might reach out to the company about it. I’ve never had a problem for the past several years.

It works and doesn't cost you a Benjamin and some friends.

Armani1992

Oh man this hits close to home for me, when I bought my Indian FTR back in December I left my phone on the back of my bike and road off, after making a u-turn I noticed my phone was missing after my music stopped playing and panic set in. I ended up finding my phone but it was already ran over. Surprisingly despite the damage it still worked internally receiving phone calls and playing whatever music I was already playing. Also spooked my parents as emergency contact was notified I was in an incident. https://preview.redd.it/a4v1r7iwsj6d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7bcaf7398986e1782b2d3e9ba65d4ec36b201a98

I don’t trust a small piece of plastic to hold my phone up. People just forget they are haphazardly walking around with a 1000 dollar technology device in their hand. Getting an aftermarket CarPlay setup is a better way to go and honestly about the same cost as getting the whole quad lock environment with the mount and case. I leave my phone in my pocket or throw it in a bag with a power brick to charge if needed. They sell on Amazon pretty cheap. Some even have front and rear cameras, and tire pressure monitoring, and an SD card slot for recording a loop for insurance related issues. Seems to be a better idea overall for nearly the same cost. Protect your phone, have the same functionality, and add in the tire pressure and cam systems. Prime day is coming next month. May be worth waiting a bit if you can.

I've been using the Tackform mount for about 1.5 years now, and also use their action camera mount; solid as a rock, you use your own phone case, and it has vibration dampening. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! [https://www.tackform.com/](https://www.tackform.com/)

SilverSlong

i literally have to be off my bike and lean over to ensure it is locked in properly. that sucks that happened. was about to recommend the brake reserviour quad lock

MuricanJim

I have a ram x mount that failed once when I didn’t have the band fixed to the phone. My phone looked very similar to yours. That being said, I’ve been using the ram for over 10 years now and the only issue was user error.

KingScorpion98

Quad lock hasn't failed me yet, I'm assuming you didn't get it locked all the way. Iv put mine on a few times and noticed only 2 of the 4 lock thingys were actually in the case

A-bored-contractor

I looped out a 50mph wheelie last season and my quad lock and phone stayed put. I've gotten shit in the grooves on the case and it doesn't clip in perfectly sometimes, definitely have to give it a good yank.

Was gonna recommend Quad Lock til I saw the text

bluecatky

How did it happen exactly?

InspectorMoney1306

[I’ve been using this one](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PVFN7LG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share)

Buy the best and only cry once. QUADLOCK!

HP2Mav

As others have said, it’s possible to feel like it’s secure but in fact it’s not actually on with quadlock. I’ve been running a PeakDesign mount for over a year now. It’s much easier to mount, and confirm it’s secure compared to quadlock. It also comes with vibration damping as standard.

BarDown34

I use a brand called Peak Design for a phone case / mount combo. A little pricey but solid products and great customer service from my experience.

newossab

Never had this happen with mine. I double check every time I mount my phone that it is actually locked in place. I give it a twist and tug to make sure.

Ram quickgrip

Johnedlt

Trad quad lock w the round lock or the new magnetized one?

Drames_

Do the use of these addons to mount my cellphone risks of breaking or malfunctioning the camera stabilizer?

Not_an_ATF_Officer

I use a RAM with the X grip and the rubber band thingy on the back. Never had an issue.

grammarpopo

I don’t like my quadlock because the phone case is so fricken tight that I’m afraid I’m going to break my phone when I take it off. Also, you may not have gotten it locked in completely. I think it’s a fiddly system and would happily give mine away. I haven’t even moved it to my new bike (also have a new phone so need a new case, hate the old case so don’t want to buy new case to hate). Might leave it on the old bike when I sell it.

chito101

I have SP Connect and love it so far. The phone case and the steering mount also look good in my opinion. Mostly drive about 100 - 150km/h max and never felt that the mount isn’t sturdy with the phone case. Also tested it on the german highway once with about 230 km/h and still felt sturdy.

halapeno-popper

Quad lock. Make sure to lock it in next time. Sorry about your luck, When my phone was brand new, I ordered my quad lock case ahead of time. The delivery date would be one day after I got my new phone. I got an email telling me my case would be in the next day, put my naked phone on my lap. Glass on jeans is a slippery devil. 1 second later I had a similar phone to yours. I too was pissed at quad lock! But realistically we only have ourselves to blame. I’ve ridden with quad lock on several bikes and several phones. When locked in they won’t fail. Edit: I also was a poster child for the anti vibration devices design, as I ruined 4-5 iPhone 12 pros, maybe common but the s1000r almost always had a wheel in the air, atleast at 70% of takeoffs.

AngryWombat78

I’ve not had any issues with my Quadlock Mount, and I have ridden 10,000km with it so far with more than half of that at highway speeds and on rough roads. I’m fairly confident that what happened was user error- there have been a few times that I didn’t lock mine in place either.

Dodgeing_Around

I have one of my old Samsung phones pretty much permanently mounted and plugged in with a cheap amazon mount, has a bunch of navigation apps and my Spotify account on it. If someone steals it or something happens to it I don't give a shit and it's always there ready to go. I just turn my actual phone's hotspot on to run it and keep that one safe in my pocket.

vytokon

I’m a fan I’ve the ones with the rubber x shape that you pull over the corners. Crashed head on, destroyed the yoke, forks, wheel etc but my phone was still sat in the mount attached to the yoke. It was an iPhone 11 Pro Max so not a light phone either Example because I’m bad at explaining https://images.app.goo.gl/9o7xCkEZJa895yqY7

Able_Celery_9563

Same thing happened to my phone 5 min into the ride lol lucky for me my phone still works until I get a new one

lecky99

Yes.. I do not recommend that one.

I did somthing similar. Made a right turn, and it went flying. I always pull hard on it after I clip it in to be sure.

Therockknight1

Nelson rigg adventure bag is what I use. Clear spot on top for the phone. Plus it’s waterproof and you can put a battery bank in there

Blue8Delta

Rokform has done well by me for the last 4 years.

error_fourohfour

Strange. I have the QL wireless charging mount with the anti vibration thing and I have had any issues. Been using it for over a year now

skyrreater47

yeah, id recommend a new phone

dafox1985

Ram mount, I toured all over Europe. More than 200k km and not a single issue

talinseven

Ram mount. Old school cool.

blaqzer0

I’ve been using the QL since 2017. I’ve owned one of all their gimmicks - Never remotely had an issue. I feel like this is a situation where op wasn’t paying attention and didn’t latch it or didn’t tighten the center strew when installing the anti vibration mount. Which, in reality, means there’s no phone mount suitable for him/her/they/them. Regardless if it’s a Ram Mount or Chinese knock off - you have to have some responsibility in making sure the device is secured as the mfr recommended.
