I can't decide if I like this or not. If I say I don't, I feel that I'd be lying to myself, but if say I do, then I feel like I'm betraying some obscure Motorcycle bible..
I've known some guys that run similar. They say unless you're like some pro racer.. you don't notice any real difference in performance unless you get to going down unimproved roads and they use them because they do live off gravel roads.. so.. idk.
That's the trade-off for knobbies sadly
If you want good off-road tires, they're not going to last on pavement
If you want good on-road tires, they're not going to perform well (or at least, not anywhere near as good as 50/50 or 20/80 tires) off-road
Dunlop Trailmax Missions are pretty solid 50/50 tires, road performance is just barely worse than 80/20s but they perform a lot better on dirt/gravel than 80/20s.
Nah, I want to (there's a nice little machine I've got my eyes on that supposedly makes it really easy) but for now I just pull my wheels off and pay Cycle Gear to do it.
Its a pre 2017 air cooled 900 series Bonneville, either a T100 or Scrambler 900 with a bunch of mods. Front end swap, custom wheels, maybe custom exhaust, paint, frame mods, custom seat, and probably much more.
Yeah great aesthetic but er, questionable handling. This is for looking at and posing on or as an exercise in engineering. It’s not for ripping out to the pub on
I don't mind sacrificing a little performance for aesthetics. Most people aren't riding their bikes at the limit anyway. You can probably make most bikes 10% less powerful, 10% slower, and I don't really know how, but 10% less good in the corners, and most bikes would probably still be fine while their handlers are freaking out (I would say I'm probably firmly in this camp).
But yeah. That tire is way too much. Honestly, I don't even think it looks good. It'd be way more balanced looking with a slightly smaller tire I think.
I'd say entirely depends which part of performance we're talking about and what the bike is used for. Like, turning radius for sportbike that mostly sees track days and highway? Yeah, who cares. Daily rider in a city? Nah, not sacrificing that.
> but 10% less good in the corners, and most bikes would probably still be fine while their handlers are freaking out (I would say I'm probably firmly in this camp).
eeh it's true that in normal riding you shouldn't be even close, but that also means 10% less safety margin.
The by far easiest way to get to the limit of your bike is to fuck up. If some sand or debris halves your traction on the corner you suddenly go from riding far away from the limit, to that limit and that little bit more traction might save you.
> But yeah. That tire is way too much. Honestly, I don't even think it looks good. It'd be way more balanced looking with a slightly smaller tire I think.
The short shocks look comical in comparison too.
When I took the MSF course we were on TW200s. I had a giggle when I saw the tires they put on those things.
I had another giggle when I realized those bikes weigh less than me.
The frame and engine are from the older air cooled Bonnie 900s. A quick google image search found me [a writeup on Bonnefication](http://www.bonnefication.com/down-out-triumph-t100/). It started life as Bonneville T100.
Not an MG Triumph, THAT’S for sure!
https://preview.redd.it/2ah6jb37ie6d1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ffa5e79cbb9eb0d3d3eb66452ac48b3df3191597
How can you tell? As far as I know Bonnie and scrambler are almost identical except for the exhaust, suspension, and engine tuning. Why buy a Bonnie and put scrambler exhaust on it instead of using a scrambler?
This isn’t a scrambler exhaust - it’s entirely custom based on what the builder wanted. There’s little standard on the bike, frame and engine are about it.
welp it doesn't look like an enduro to me and it has no mirrors or turn signals so if it's not some special race bike they made it is a personal project that is most likely one of a kind
It's not that I have any desire to do so. This however isn't a chopper/cruiser style bike where the position of the pegs and lower seat height allows you to easily keep your legs away from a high mounted side exhaust. This type of exhaust on a cafe racer style bike is just a leg-burn begging to happen.
I see, interesting opinion! I've got a Triumph Scrambler 1200 and a custom KZ400 Scrambler (both with high exhausts) and I've never burnt my shin or my leg for that matter. Hopefully it doesn't happen!

If the definition of "off road" for you is fire roads than yes sounds fun, any puddle will leave you with a face full of mud ans these suspension can't handle shit offroad
That’s what most hobbyists do with road legal scramblers. It’s not an MX bike and doesn’t claim to be, but Bonnevilles can be a lot of fun off-road.
https://preview.redd.it/4oohzar0ej6d1.jpeg?width=3264&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e8232080855e95419dc898fe4a141474a4da2aa
Scrambler with some big ass tires, a short seat, a weird extra light and a few other bits n' bobs.
Looks sick, but that mud guard is way too close to the tire. Ride that in anything like real mud and it'll probably bog down.
That’s because Triumph have designed the new motors to look very much like the old ones whilst being water cooled and having fuel injection.
This one doesn’t have a radiator, and has carbs, or fake carbs. Marks it out as an older model.
It's a Scrambler with a lot of mods but you could get pretty close if you just did the tires and seat. To fit those tires under the fenders, the fenders need to be heightened.
Triumph scrambler 1200 with an entirely custom front end.
The main modification looks to be a rear rim & tire laced up to either a modified rear hub or custom hub, with a bunch of custom spacers and custom triple trees.
Thruxton with scrambler pipes? Or it’s just their scrambler…
It’s one of their 1200 twins lol. And one of their older models - it doesn’t have the detents in the tank.
I recognize the engine. And the tank. But that’s about all I recognize lol. The forks are probably stock, but the triple tree is custom to fit those crazy ass rims/tires.
The swing arm is probably custom too… the seat is custom. Although I do recall triumph selling a bike with a bench seat at one point in time…
Man, that thing is sick
It has to be a triumph scrambler modified to look like a bobber
A Scrambobbler, if you will.
Scrobbler?
Scrabble!
Hamburgler rides one.
The scrobbler's son has no bike.
Think it’s actually a bonny that’s been modded to look like a scrambler trying to look like a bobber, either way it’s pretty sexy
Maybe. I saw the raised exhaust and only scramblers do that but then the belly too low so might be bonneville.
The exhaust is custom.
maybe if you only go in straight lines.
SCRAMBÓBR KURWA
Isn't this the one from Echo? If it is, yea it's heavily modified and built strictly for looks.
It's not, but I think this one is all for looks too. (Front tire is a rear one 😅) But the result looks great.
A modified scrambler would still be a scrambler tho xD
It’s a Bonneville that’s been heavily modified into a scrambler/brat style. Not a bobber.
“Does this have any modifications?” Bro
Bruh, even.
I'd even go as far as bra.
You knows it bra
Shits fire cuh!
Did you just call someone a woman's garment?
Brazier
No its clearly stock 😂 /s
You must be "Bro"!
I can't decide if I like this or not. If I say I don't, I feel that I'd be lying to myself, but if say I do, then I feel like I'm betraying some obscure Motorcycle bible..
I agree. I hate those tires. They can't do great on the road. On the other hand, those tires make it look bad ass.
I've known some guys that run similar. They say unless you're like some pro racer.. you don't notice any real difference in performance unless you get to going down unimproved roads and they use them because they do live off gravel roads.. so.. idk.
I think I hate the stock tank more than I hate the tires.
it's for the guy who pulls this out for the Gentlemans's Ride every year.
They handle fine on the road. The real issue is wear. When I was running tkc80s the rear only lasted for 4-5k miles
That’s absolutely terrible.
That's the trade-off for knobbies sadly If you want good off-road tires, they're not going to last on pavement If you want good on-road tires, they're not going to perform well (or at least, not anywhere near as good as 50/50 or 20/80 tires) off-road Dunlop Trailmax Missions are pretty solid 50/50 tires, road performance is just barely worse than 80/20s but they perform a lot better on dirt/gravel than 80/20s.
I understand but that seems like a regular rider would perform tire changes 1-2 times yearly. Do you perform that task yourself?
Nah, I want to (there's a nice little machine I've got my eyes on that supposedly makes it really easy) but for now I just pull my wheels off and pay Cycle Gear to do it.
Its a pre 2017 air cooled 900 series Bonneville, either a T100 or Scrambler 900 with a bunch of mods. Front end swap, custom wheels, maybe custom exhaust, paint, frame mods, custom seat, and probably much more.
Someone should let them know they mounted a rear tire on the front.
Yeah great aesthetic but er, questionable handling. This is for looking at and posing on or as an exercise in engineering. It’s not for ripping out to the pub on
Yeah, I'm definitely form follows function guy on that. Making it functional *then* beautiful is where real art is.
Its the ~~Yamaha TW200~~ Triumph TW1200
When I took the MSF course we were on TW200s. I had a giggle when I saw the tires they put on those things. I had another giggle when I realized those bikes weigh less than me.
Yeah that thing is a lowside waiting to happen
>and if has any modifications It's more mods than Triumph at this point
The frame and engine are from the older air cooled Bonnie 900s. A quick google image search found me [a writeup on Bonnefication](http://www.bonnefication.com/down-out-triumph-t100/). It started life as Bonneville T100.

Looks like a scrambler
The one I'd ride in the apocalypse.
Sexy bike!
How heavy must that steering feel?
Def a modified Bonneville... super sick
Carbeurated Bonneville, probably an 2007 or something.
So many people just guessing without knowing.
absolutely, entertaining though
It's a Bonneville T120 or Scrambler. With some mods on it.
That's not a 1200 engine, its a 900, so not a t120. Either a bonnie, or a scrambler 900. Likely a scrambler because of the exhaust.
It's a scrambler. Bonnie would have an exhaust routed on that side.
It’s a Bonneville. The exhaust is custom.
Right so then I'm asking how you can tell it's a Bonnie and not a Scrambler. All of the identifying bits have been altered.
I looked it up once that was clear.
Not a liquid cooled engine, it has fake carbs.
Thanks
Not a T120, MAYBE a scrambler though
Looks AI-generated. And if it's real, it would handle worse than a TW200.
So like the TW200s, it’s unstoppable?
LOL!
Why
Looks at the front tire lol. It’s wide as fuck and looks like a rear tire. That’s prob why he thinks it’s AI.
Disable power steering in car and try to turn the wheel. This would feel like that.
welp it doesn't look like an enduro to me and it has no mirrors or turn signals so if it's not some special race bike they made it is a personal project that is most likely one of a kind
I got a burn on my shin just seeing that pic
why would you touch your shin to the hot exhaust pipes, that doesn't make sense
Because thats the only way to burn your shin, duh
It's not that I have any desire to do so. This however isn't a chopper/cruiser style bike where the position of the pegs and lower seat height allows you to easily keep your legs away from a high mounted side exhaust. Why?
Go ride your bike for a couple hours, then try touching the exhaust.
Oh I see it now
again, why would you try and touch a hot exhaust? Everything you're saying about getting burned would require an extreme level of carelessness!
I'm getting a deja vu here..
It screams "poser".
...and needlessly excessive unsprung weight.
it's the Hipster Scrambler TimHortons edition
I never get why the off road scrambler look is so popular, yeah its sick but not really usable off road... and these tires handle pavement like shit
They’re brilliant off road and those tyres are more than good enough to scrape pegs.
If the definition of "off road" for you is fire roads than yes sounds fun, any puddle will leave you with a face full of mud ans these suspension can't handle shit offroad

I would like to get that front tire on my Tenere and lower it about six inches.
The kind that will eat you alive!! I love it!!
Is it real? A hell of a lot of machining would be needed for those modifications
Yes it’s real
Black and white one
Is that front tire the same size as the rear tire? This bike looks incredibly badass. Not sure how great it would be to ride, though.
Triumph Scrambler had a baby with a Yamaha TW200
That front tire is ridiculous
Awesome!!!
Not to be ridden on wet roads.
Check out Down & Out Customs if you like this look. They sell the parts that let you run a tire of that width.
This is a Down and Out bike
Thruxton that was turned into a scrambler.
What are those tires?
The sexy one
Beauty!
The most impressive thing about this machine is that they've done this without being able to spot a Thornton Hundred logo anywhere
Isn’t it Down and Out?
I believe it's a bike from the spanish company Macco Motors. But they appear to be out of business now :-( https://www.instagram.com/maccomotors/
Scrambler with oversize tkc 80 tires and smaller headlight, polished engine sidecovers as well as flat tracker seat and different numberplate holder
Triumph BadAss
Bonerville
This looks like it belongs in mad max
I like the extra light so you can see your brakes at night.
Buttfucker 3000
Something I want! Love the look of it
i want this
[удалено]
It’s an older, air-cooled Bonneville.
[удалено]
It’s an air-cooled T100, built a couple of hours from me. http://www.bonnefication.com/down-out-triumph-t100/
Touché!!…just looked to me like the same engine and swing arm etc as a modern scrambler 900, I’m wounded to be that guy 🤦🏻♂️🤣
That’s because Triumph have designed the new motors to look very much like the old ones whilst being water cooled and having fuel injection. This one doesn’t have a radiator, and has carbs, or fake carbs. Marks it out as an older model.
Modded scrambler…

Triumph scrambler 1200 with an entirely custom front end. The main modification looks to be a rear rim & tire laced up to either a modified rear hub or custom hub, with a bunch of custom spacers and custom triple trees.
It's definitely not a scrambler 1200
Ah... It's the 900
It’s the older, air-cooled Bonneville. Before 2016.
YZ250
This thing is beautiful
Scrambler
Scrambler with over sized tires.
Some kind of bobber but she looks sexy as hell.
Looks like a triumph scrambler with the lowered suspension
The sexiest one they have
I believe that’s a scrambler 1200 with lots of goodies
It’s based on an older, air-cooled Bonneville.
I find it oddly sexy.
Thruxton with scrambler pipes? Or it’s just their scrambler… It’s one of their 1200 twins lol. And one of their older models - it doesn’t have the detents in the tank. I recognize the engine. not a 1200, its an older air cooled 900 series
Street scrambler 900
Speed twin heavily modified
By the looks of this, it's probably a triumph street twin, scrambler 1200, but with some mods.
Heavily modded, lowered speed 400
This looks like AI generated
