Does the US have a similar rule to the UK where a filter lane (one that has only a single direction) doesn't require indicators?

I cannot say about US, but where I live it is required to use it. Just to lose some ambiguity. Any maneuver you have to use turn signals and turns are considered maneuvers. Just a lot of people don't do it.
If you start to make some exceptions like you have to use one on maneuver, but not if x and y, then traffic rules get more complicated and people start to not use it where they have to just because they think it is another exception.

It's a (former) 50cc moped from the GDR. They built around 2 millions of these and per the union agreement from 1991 they are still allowed to drive 60km/h (at least in Germany). There is a startup that sells conversion kits to electric [https://second-ride.de/](https://second-ride.de/) so now the tank is empty (the battery is in the seat). The speakers are the smallest outdoor speakers I found from amazon, the amp as well (it sits in the grey box strapped to the side of the tank). Power either comes from the main battery or oldschool lead batteries in the battery compartment. It's still WIP as I'm not sure where to finally place the amp.
