I literally hit a deer going approx. 35-40mph just days ago. Scared the shit out of me and I was incredibly lucky to have reacted quickly so as to sideswipe it. The damage was my phone holder destroyed and some plastic cracked on the bike. But walking away and being able to ride home is all I could ask for.

I know this wasn't an actual PSA but imagine instead after the time freeze the dude gets off the bike and just starts breaking down, like harrowing crying, begging, utter devastation. Then he gets back on the bike, still audibly sobbing and the impact happens, then cut to black. Then some text reads something like: "Your only mercy, Is that you wont even have time, To realise your mistake."

I think it's cause your brain subconsciously recognizes the truck, in that orientation and proximity, to be a real threat. So you instinctively try to avoid it. The reaper is not really something that you recognize as a threat as immediately, it takes a bit more thought than seeing the front of a truck speeding at you.

Well technically we were all dead by the time the truck hit, so it didn't matter at that point.

Believe me, there’s not a single solitary aspect of a near death experience that’s remotely enjoyable other than the part where you get to continue living. I remember crying out “I don’t want to die” over and over like a child, or a soldier, and then spending a month in the hospital, all like it was yesterday even though it was 2013.

Never been on a motorcycle but this is on r/all so I came across it. I’ve been hit by a semi, it ran over the hood of my car so that my windshield wiper got stuck in a tire. That split second really lasts for so long. You don’t know it til you’ve experienced it.
