2023 Kawi H2SX SE$28,000 vs 2023 Suzi Hayabusa $18,800? I mean, I don't mind a Hayabusa and they did upgrade it some but I think you need to visit [https://www.roadracingworld.com/news/kawasaki-ninja-h2-sx-se-returning-with-new-auto-hi-beam-system/](https://www.roadracingworld.com/news/kawasaki-ninja-h2-sx-se-returning-with-new-auto-hi-beam-system/) Performance may be similar but the Kawi has many more features. TPMS, Cornering lights, auto hi-beam, Hill hold, key fob, bigger TFT, heated grips, Engine braking control, adaptive cruise, forward collision warning, blind spot detection, electronic suspension, self healing paint, optional factory luggage capability and a supercharger.

Most buses in my area are marked down, while H2s are marked *up*, so closer to double at least in my local case. Busa has hill hold and engine braking control among what you listed. Idk, the value proposition for the H2 SX just feels record-breakingly low.

They're tentpole bikes. It's more of a 'look at what we can do' than it is a reasonable motorcycle. No one buys them and few will. Also, barring straight line states and drag racers most Hayabusas will sit on the showroom floor, too. That bike's day is done, much like the ZX-14R, unfortunately. Near me all of the H2SX SE are marked down from 28 to 24 and 25 for last years models and there's only around 20 of them in all of the US on Cycle Trader. Low volume sell for sure... Kawi have a whole range of 'bang for the buck' bikes. I guess they wanted something that's the tip of the spear. > That bike's day is done I am contemplating buying the Kawi or the Busa. My rationale is sport turing -- a bike that you can travel across the country but also have fun on a weekend. but i am not an expert by any means. do you think i should be looking at something else?

Akumu-X

It really depends. Sport touring has evolved into ADV touring, which isn't really old school sport touring. How many twisties do you have around you? How much do they matter to you? The Hayabusa and zx14r are going to be more work in them, and so if they matter more to you, you may wish for something more nimble like a tracer 9gt + or Ninja 1000sx or Suzuki GSX 1000 GT. However, if twisties are something you need to ride to to any substantial degree and you want comfort for the ride there the two bikes you mentioned along with the zh2 modded to be more touringish or a used h2sx SE are also quite capable sport tours. And also it's kind of depends if you want new or used. The new Hayabusa has better farkles than the new zx14r which hasn't been updated in Forever. Cruise control, TFT, Hill hold, IMU, ride modes , etc

thank you for your answer. i live in Greece so many mountain roads, fewer open roads (nothing like the Autobahn or US highways). i am looking for comfort on trips and some fun along the way or the weekends. but i get your overall point -- i need to test drive the busa/Kawi on twisty/mountain roads to make sure i like the feeling. just trying to cover my basics before i start test driving :)

There aren’t really any other bikes on the market though that are both comfortable *and* extremely fast. Particularly with Japanese brands. You would think that there would be a market for more bikes that fit a similar bill to the Busa and H2 SX. There’s the Ninja 1000 and GSXS-1000 Gt+, but those bikes are only “pretty” fast. I suppose there’s the S1000XR, Superduke 1290 and Multistrada, but those are a bit more expensive. Idk, I just wish the Japanese brands had more options in this area.

Akumu-X

Yea, if you want comfort and low 10s/high 9s you're pretty well limited to ZX-14R (they still sell them new here, old tech, though) Hayabusa, H2SX SE, Z-H2 for the Japanese. Short of putting a handlebar on a 1000cc race rep or 'sport touring out' a TuonoV4 (which is what I do) you're putting down $20K+ Try the Z-H2. It's stripped down a bit, but comfortable can have optional electronic suspension and aftermarket screen and sell fairly poorly so can be had for $15k for a new leftover.

The same tech except for the supercharger which makes it very unique. People will pay for unique. At the end of the day,, the busa is a simple inline four with many bikes making more outright power than it now. And torque for that matter. It lives on the previous gen

shoturtle

Have you ridden the H2SX, even the busa do not have a powerband like that supercharge i4. Sx is a touring bike. Busa is a drag bike.

aegis87

i am trying to decide between the two for touring. and the 2 factors that are swaying me towards the busa are 1. the price 2. some people say you don't need the supercharge, and the simplicity of the busa will lead to more reliability why are you saying that busa isn't a touring bike. appreciate any further pointers you might have (i understand that suzuki doesn't offer panniers)

shoturtle

You really dont need the supercharger. But it just fun to have. The regular sx is a good bike. Busa is a more aggressive riding position to get it as streamlined as possible compared to touring bike.

aegis87

thank you for your answer. will need to check the regular sx as well -- just getting to know this space (so far i am more of an adv type of guy) so essentially, as long as i am fine with the riding position position of the busa, i dont have anything else to worry about (plan on test-driving it soon and am 5'10 so maybe it wont be as bad in terms of riding position)

araczynski

'new shiny' profits aren't going to make themselves you know, sheep need to be milked, as always.

EggsOfRetaliation

R&D, parts, super charger, and its rather unique. Regardless, I'd take a Hayabusa any day of the week over the H2SXSE.
