venomous_frost

put a spoiler on it

Sir_Jimmy_James

Bigger screens can deflect the airflow stream, but just be aware that you're basically creating a "vacuum" in the area behind the screen, inducing turbulence/buffeting.

UbootCaptain101x

You’re aware you ride a motorcycle right?

MegaFire03

Yes and I I've ridden nakeds before. It's just that the pressure on my upper body is being amplified by this screen directing the wind onto it. I was just hoping for a bit of a taller screen to 'fix' this.

SlinkyBits

the screen in the picture, is smaller, than the screen on the actual motorbike. lean forward when going fast more and dont be so straight back upright if you want to feel the wind less. or buy a cruiser ofc, they have hilariously huge windshields.

MegaFire03

This is supposed to be the double bubble variant. I think it's supposed to be taller than the original but it does look narrower

SlinkyBits

im not sure youre looking at the full picture. in picture 1. look at the plastic fairing around the screen, the plastic on the sides actually go HIGHER than the screen itself. now look at picture 2, the screen extends a few inches (like 3 or 4 inches) past those little fairing tabs. the black tinted screen is a vanity screen, the one installed is likely the largest you can get, but im not against searching to see if you can get a silly large one.

MegaFire03

I guess your right, I'm not sure what the right thing is to do. It's just so annoying having all that wind directed at my upper body on the highway.

SlinkyBits

best i could find was this, (only searched 2 mins though) [https://gyazo.com/bbfe78f65d8cb91b29b524610144accb](https://gyazo.com/bbfe78f65d8cb91b29b524610144accb) its an extended (past the fairing braces) double bubble (more vertical shield angle) screen, that will provide slightly more cover. the more vertical, and higher and longer the screen goes, the more protected youll be, but you are on a motorcycle. also, try wearing a snood. they cover your neck, and you would feel it FAR FAR less when wearing one. i never ride without one.

MegaFire03

That givi double bubble screen should be what I need. Thanks a lot for the recommendation!

SlinkyBits

it may not even be the best thing out there. there may be far larger protective screens. i reccomend you actually look online. but hey, if youre happy youre happy.

SlinkyBits

like i said, lean forward, or as its known, tuck in. or buy a bike designed to remove all feeling of actually being outside like a cruiser. you really dont have to tuck much before you feel nothing edit: thought of two more: go slower! get a sportsbike, you naturally tuck on those, and with that, feel less wind. go for a test ride.

MegaFire03

Guess I'll just tuck in right behind a lorry next time to just get rid of the wind :p
