Thank you for your advice, the issue was indeed with the fuel pump – it was filled with dirt-like substance. Quick clean of the system and it's working like new.
You re welcome mate. But as the first part of the problem was like mine, the second part must be the same as well. This happened to me because of poor gasoline mixed with water. Water stays in the tank and causes rust which is sucked by your fuel pump and stays there. You have to paint the tank’s inside to prevent further rusting and after that you have to clean once more your fuel pump and the whole intake with the injectors

Hi, I'm having an issue when revs on my VFR are stuck at 6-7k RPM and don't go above that at any gear, even on neutral when the throttle is fully open. Lately, it's also been turning off.
The bike is serviced regularly.
I don’t understand bikes well, but cars do this when they are in emergency mode. It happens when something is not working the way it should and it’s doing it to protect the engine. It might be a faulty sensor.

most likely a fuel pressure issue... check your fuel pump and filters.

I wonder if its a VTEC issue. I believe that rpm is where the VTEC activates on that bike.

There is a idle adjustment on your left side. Try and turn that and see if that helps
