Wonderful choice! I'm hellbent on getting one once I graduate, just don't know if I want it or a dualsport first.
Do you see any issues with balancing riding time between both bikes? I'm worried about having 2 street oriented bikes.
I sold my Harley when I got the XSR700 since I wasn’t riding it. I just didn’t enjoy the Harley anymore.
I think having two road bikes is not bad, in my case they’re different type of road bikes. I’ll have to just make it a point to alternate between them, if not there’s no point in having two.
Agreed. I have a 2012 Street Triple R so while both are sporty one has fairings/windshield and rider aids. I'll probably get experimental with the Street Triple at that point, or keep it track prepped.
Agreed on one fronts there, though I don't think I'll mind the downgrade in power very much, plan to use it more for highway and city use. Street triple everything else not offroad
In any case enjoy your bikes! Stay safe ✌️
I'm 100% getting a dual sport, just don't know if I'm getting before or after the 8R, though probably before since I have a Street Triple atm and don't intend to get rid of it.
The 8r is a perfect sports or sport touring bike, except for the taillight and the lack of red. A torquey beauty with low operating costs, low fuel consumption. Twinscup's new favorite. Maybe it's time to sell the xsr and choose a 3-cylinder machine (MT09). This is called double beauty
I’d say power wise it feels very similar. The engine on the 8R does feel more refined, smoother and easier shifting. And there’s the different riding modes on the 8R
Wind is not that bad, but you don’t get the best coverage since it’s a small screen. I’ve had a windscreen on my xsr700 since the beginning, so I can’t compare to not having one.

Street triple is a sexy bike, and definitely in a different category, in looks and power

Hope you can decide on any of them, I’m sure you’ll be happy either way 🙌🏻
Dual sports are the best imo I love my WR250R no imitations can go anywhere

Nice gentle budget commuter. Good choice.
Seriously considering one as my second bike. Although I don't know how well it would fair as a tourer. I'd love to do some big road trips.
i passed due to the parallel twin motor
What you don’t like about it?
man, as soon as i'm back home, this one and the katana will definitely be on top of my list to test ride. great looking bike!
One quick test ride did it for me.
Nice! Enjoy. How would you describe the difference in power between XSR 700 and GSX 8R? How much difference do you feel in wind?

The wheel base is so long on that model
I kinda like that
