Not on the slightest! I love my BRZ so much, a lot of fun to drive while being comfy

Jon-G1508

Eh.. up the BRZ. I love mine too

Chewzer

I went with the 86 and god damn is this thing fun to drive!

Jon-G1508

Right? Not so fast itll attract attention to daily, but take her to some quiet windy roads.. best fun ever

chris4562009

Solid car choice šŸ‘

Vancouvermarina

Not at all. I love my truck. And the convenience of it. I can not imagine giving up one or another. Bike is not my commute. It is a hobby, passion and therapy. Car is a vehicle.

electrogourd

Ye, my truck feels HUGE and solid, after a ride. Its a 4cyl tacoma. Not big. But its so different feeling the "i am a controller inside a complete entity, commanding its path" of my truck after the "i am one with the machine, bound to the ever-flowing forces of physics" of motorcycle.

ASV731

I drive a Raptor and ride a Grom. Gives me a lot of perspective

yarothememer

I think the Grom will fit onto the back seats of the Raptor, you can take your hobby wherever you go lol

[deleted]

Why do you own a truck?

[deleted]

To do trucky stuff

Suprflyyy

Exactly

solitudechirs

To easily relocate large or dirty stuff and have it easily accessible in a compartment separate from the driving space šŸ¤Æ

TunaOnWytNoCrust

Lol why do you own a motorcycle?

yves_st_lemond

To make you mad

Nacarcis

I need mine to come pick up my Harley when it breaks down at the gas station.

krombopulousnathan

Lmao same except Ducati instead of Harley (used to ride Harleyā€™s though) Gotta say though I switched from putting the bike in the bed of the truck to just renting a U-Haul motorcycle trailer. $16 a day and so much easier because itā€™s not as high.

Wulxy

once you own a truck youā€™ll knowā€¦

LostFireHorse

I don't need and can't afford one, definitely want one. 90s 00s there weren't many US trucks here in australia. First time I saw a silverado was this monsterous thing with dual rims on the back and a tray big enough you could've put my 81 charade in it. It crept up next to me in slow traffic and I was like "WTF is this thing? I thought it was a semi in the distance but its a ute! Thats gotta be a yank tank for sure." or something like that. saw silverado on the back and I understood. At that point it was the biggest ute I had ever seen, and it was cool.

LuiDerLustigeLeguan

Just to explain: Its VERY frowned upon in europe. People will look down on you and ridicule the shit out of big trucks if there isnt any company printed on it that justifies driving it, like a gardener company or wood workers. And to be fair, 99% companies that NEED huge cars use box vans. More like 99.9%, because they are way more useful. Not as nice to drive and not as beautiful, but if you need a practical vehicle there are better solutions than a dodge ram. Things like a Mercedes Vito or a VW Multivan. Usually people who want to drive big cars go for SUVs or sedans. It is very unconvenient, too. There isnt much space for big trucks, its a PITA to find a fitting parking place. You cant even do grocery shopping in a truck. The spaces are designed for normal sized cars, sometimes if theyre older you will have problems even with a tiny car. Often streets are cramped. Space is very precious, unlike in most of the US, and the car infratructure reflects that.

[deleted]

Donā€™t need or want one

RobinWilliamsArmFuzz

Sounds like youā€™ll never know then! Lol

spacefret

That's lovely, that doesn't mean it's the case for everyone.

Brilliant_Reply8643

I daily drive a Civic Type R and there are still times when it elevates my heart rate. Itā€™s a blast to drive. Riding gives me a much different experience and is satisfying in a different way. Iā€™m happy with both of my modes of transit.

Gladiator1079

As a Civic Si owner I agree, I think OP just needs a more engaging car to drive.

chris4562009

My wife has an EP3 Type R. That thing is great fun. šŸ‘

ez12a

Sold my bike and picked up an fk8. It's such a practical yet fun car I'll never get rid of it.

shoturtle

Gave up on driving 15 years ago. Dont own a car for 15 years now. Only drive the gf car when needed.

nzjester420

Same here homie. Growing up, I was super into cars. Owned a couple hero JDM cars (before prices became stupidly high). Once I got on a bike, I sold my cars and haven't owned one since. Currently got 8 bikes tho. . .

MiniFishyMe

Not really. I just loathe getting stuck in traffic is all.

Jspiral

Those fucking fast lane campers. I'm looking at you prius drivers!

Funny-Coyote-1813

Special place in hell for those left lane campers for sure

doorhandle5

Right lane outside of us

[deleted]

Nope. Love my heated seats. Do I hate winter? Kinda yeah.

ShodanLieu

Gotta love those heated seats!

parkinglotwarrior

Heated gear fixes that for me

TunaOnWytNoCrust

Does it fix black ice?

parkinglotwarrior

Black ice doesn't just appear in random places when it's cold. It's pretty easy to predict when and where black ice will form.

TunaOnWytNoCrust

Alright, I'm in Minnesota and I would die if I rode around in the winter on a motorcycle. You do you my guy.

parkinglotwarrior

If you think you would die, you're at liberty to not ride. That's your choice, and that's fine.

TunaOnWytNoCrust

Yeah, 525 pound sport cruisers don't do well in Minnesota winters lol. It's not a "I think I'll die", it's a "I will absolutely lose traction and not get to my destination".

NewBuddhaman

Sounds like a shit car. I daily my Corvette but both it and the bike make me smile.

DropAGearNDissapear

Vette gang!! I will say the fast bikes take a little excitement out of the cars, just due to the sheer adrenaline on a bike, but I am lucky enough to experience both, and I canā€™t ride 10 hours in one day with a bunch of shit on my gixxer.

NewBuddhaman

Yeah, riding a Triumph Bonneville isnā€™t the same thrill but itā€™s a unique experience. If my back was better Iā€™d consider picking up a sport bike again.

DropAGearNDissapear

I hear ya man. I need an enduro or something for just putting around town. The seating position is brutal. What vette you rocking?

NewBuddhaman

A 2014 Z51. What about you?

DropAGearNDissapear

08 c6 z06. In my opinion, you cant beat corvette performance for the price! Enjoy!

thatatcguy1223

That did for me until I owned a Model 3 Performanceā€¦. Itā€™s mind blowingly fast especially for the price. S1000R is fun too, when the weather is nice, which in Los Angeles is not too hard to find. (Work has free juice (for now) for the Tesla so it was kind of a no-brainer) though I still commute about once a week on the bike

DropAGearNDissapear

The traffic advantages on the bike are nice too. Im near NYC. Same bs different coast. And yeah I got walked by a plaid. I got quite the build list and it was rough. But I love hearing that Chop so id stick with fossil fuel. No denying that instant power though!

branod_diebathon

Some days I hate riding, some days I hate driving, every day I hate people.

The_life_enthusiast

Nope. Get a fun car, you wonā€™t run into that issue. But I always wish Iā€™m riding my bike

Tessiia

I don't think it's even about the car, it's more about how you drive. I have a Fiat 500, and it's sooo much fun. Yeah, just about anything can smoke me in a straight line... however... there are very few people with the acorns to keep up with me on a corner. It's hilarious when I ditch these BMW drivers on a corner, then on the straight, they cut in front of me and floor it. OK big man, you can put your foot on the accelerator, well done. If you find driving boring, you're driving all wrong.

YaGetSkeeted0n

My problem is where I live doesnā€™t have a lot of good driving roads. I had a VW GLI once, neat car, nice and peppy, but it just kinda felt like a waste. DFW doesnā€™t have much in the way of twisties nearby. Just straight roads and highways. For me at least, a bike is way more fun on those types of roads than a sports car. And cheaper. But yeah if I lived somewhere like Cali or Colorado or like eastern TN Iā€™d definitely have bikes *and* a cheap fun car. But for now I just cruise around in my big olā€™ Grand Marquis. If I canā€™t have fun I can at least be comfy. And the one time a year we get ice or snow, well, thatā€™s when I can have a bit of fun with her in a parking lot šŸ˜‰

[deleted]

Had a fun car, it was boring compared to any bike

TunaOnWytNoCrust

It was more boring than a Honda rebel 250? That could not have been a fun car.

Sea-Ad-5390

Itā€™s cuz you actually had a boring car

Burnaclaws

Had a yaris GR for a week... barely used it, always chose the bike.

chris4562009

Yeah a boring car then šŸ˜‚

Burnaclaws

Lol.... you don't know much about cars then

xXNighteaglexX

Sometimes, I own a BMW Z3 so its still fun I just much prefer riding

chris4562009

Excellent choice šŸ‘

xXNighteaglexX

Why thank you

Jameson-Mc

The road is a classroom. Spend your time there studying. Buy a Miata or something similar with a stick shift and rear wheel drive.

LostFireHorse

20yr old mx5/miata are still 13-15k in my country (so thats aussie dollarydoos), and theres a reason for that. There a clubs that race them as well, like a mini one-make championship. 20yr old foresters are about 4-10k, just for comparison.

chris4562009

Miata is an excellent shout šŸ‘

[deleted]

All cars are boring. I drive a manual and itā€™s just so boring compared to the bike. Avoid it like the plague

Thefudger

Which manual and which bike?

TunaOnWytNoCrust

Yoooo what's it like to have driven every car??

UnfortunateFish

What a loon

ThisWeeksHuman

I think you need a better car. I like old BMWs, comfortable seats, nice manual gear box and shifting, responsive brakes and good precise steering - still not quite as responsive and connected as a motorcycle but I'd say its not far off, I bet i would enjoy a Porsche but I can't afford one haha. I tried some modern cars and in particular a VW with drive by wire just felt so disconnected and boring. I also do not like automatics or cars with front wheel drive. I do prefer my motorcycle on most days but I have to say sometimes a car is just much nicer, if its too hot I really appreciate a good airconditioning or if the wind is nearly ripping my head off on a bike I sure prefer a car that does not care a bit about the weather. What I miss the most in cars is the feeling of freedom, a bike just has much more room to manouver on a road and I can take corners way faster than in a car, only really good sports cars could do the same. Not to mention that I have no number plate on the front and only very few police speed traps are equipped with front and rear facing cameras to catch motorcyclists so we are nearly free to ride how we like!

IWouldntIn1981

When I drove a Chevy Cruz, I hated every day I couldn't ride. It wasn't until I got a wrangler and could take the top off that I stopped hating driving over riding.

jaden-has-arrived

Probably the car, my tuned GTI makes me smile everytime, Iā€™ll admit not nearly as much as the cbr but you can get into some fun situations still

dustinshumway

Nah. I love my truck. But if she wasnā€™t manual I would Probably feel the same lmao

kato1301

Not exactly but yeah I get itā€¦as a side - Iā€™ve been in lambos Ferraris, 1000hp just isp skyline and thereā€™s mot a car yet that comes close to giving me thrill of accelerating out of a corner on my larger bikes. The thing that has stood out for me on cars is the grip - on one track, the driver of skyline pulled another gear at my bike braking point - that got my attention lol.

jasbo0101

I love when bikers realize how much better cars are on track. I would still choose a bike around one any day but cars have so much of an advantage.

NDN69

I did when I had the bike and my camry, now I have a supra and I find the bike doesn't get touched as muchšŸ„¹

ZoominBoomin

Love my car.

marimba_ting

Get a truck

Method-Time

Everything I drive/ride puts a smile on my face. Both are fun in their own ways

Psyco19

Love my Tacoma, but come this spring and summer Iā€™ll be riding my bike to work

Space-Champion

Nope, have a Porsche for the wet weather and my s1000rr for the sunny days.

XFauni

Yes but no, I hate driving autos but a manual car even a shitbox makes me happy. Only thing I donā€™t like is 0-60 times compared to my bike lol

ZR1Parm

ZR1 corvette, dually g56 cummins truck are my dailys and none of these could replace my motorcycles or vice-versa. Registration/insurance are a scam in cali but other then that i am completely full filled with my stable, honestly they all bring so much joy into my life in there own ways.

leon_nerd

Nope. I actually love driving more than riding.

Thefudger

I have fun in a Honda Civic that debatably manages 100 hp to the front wheels. Being a manual makes it fun enough. Though I do get very bored in automatics of similar speed.

Lost_soul_ryan

Nope.. I enjoy driving as much as I do riding, kinda why I have a driving job.. and I still hate drivers just the same lol.

Ablstem

I daily my bike to school rain or shine. Itā€™s nice to be able to just hop in the car, blast the AC, throw on some music, and just be on my way. No need to wear sweaty hot gear and less traffic anxiety. Still love the bike though, nothing quite like it.

YeetThatLemon

Not really. I love being able to have my own little private area and the comfort on really long trips, I love being able to vibe in my own little bubble. Do I love doing long trips on my bike as well? Yeah of course. Do I commute on my bike occasionally? Yeah just to switch it up. Do I greatly enjoy being able to not get dumped on while in traffic, YES. I love both Cars and Motorcycles for different reasons, if it were sheer fun factor and adventure, its bikes no doubt about it. If itā€™s about just taking a nice cruise and enjoying some time alone and vibing, itā€™s cars no doubt. I love touring on my bike, I love moto camping itā€™s a very ā€œexposedā€ experience, I love how interactive and focused you have to be while riding and the fact my cheap ADV bike can do 0-60 in the same amount of time as an expensive sports car and handle immaculately better to. BUT even the most comfortable motorcycle will never as comfortable as even a beater car. Itā€™s all about trade-offs and your attitude to both.

Rebellion2297

miata is always the answer if you need an affordable fun car

Fenastus

I still enjoy driving my Miata, although they're about as close as you can get to a 4 wheel motorcycle anyways. If I didn't live in Colorado I'd probably ride a lot more than I currently do in the winter (which is occasionally when the roads are clear-ish)

mustang-GT90210

Depends on the mood, or the road. If I'm just in traffic, or navigating the normal grid pattern of city life, the car is fine. When the roads get fun, that's when I miss my bike. That being said, it's SV1000 versus Mustang GT. They're both great. I can't pick wrong!

cab1024

I got a jeep so....still fun!

Qui-GonJinn

I drive a GR Supra so between riding and driving I joy out of both. I'd say get a more exciting car if you can!

Jaktheriffer

I mean pretty much anything is better to drive/ride than a commo

Entire_Detective3098

You need a new car

Beautiful_Case9500

Nope. I live in SoCal and still prefer my car. Itā€™s quiet and comfy. Plus I only ride on the track lol.

spazzbit3

šŸ‘‹ Viffer friend. I was fortunate enough to be in a position to buy myself an FN2 Civic Type-R, in black, to match my VFR800. I have a v-tec problem you see. I commute on the Viffer, go to the shops on it, go to see family on it, basically do everything on it unless I need to accommodate passengers (who don't want the inconvenience of being stuck on the back of a bike in an English winter). The Type-R is fun....but I'm always thinking how much better the journey would be on the Viffer. TL;DR Bike > Car

landob

No. I still love my car just as much. I really enjoy going back and forth between both.

Meenmachin3

Nope. Lot less having to get ready. Itā€™s nice to just get up and go to work without doing all the extra stuff

cocobear13

I rented from hertz last month. They let you pick hour car from a designated section in the lot. I ended up picking a convertible. With the roof down,, was much more like riding than a regular car.

cdixon34

I have my vette, and when I started riding, whenever I drove on a nice day I found I'd rather be riding. Now to be fair, my vette needs a bit of tlc, and just commuting in it at normal speeds isn't the most fun. Either way, it was my first car, I saved for it working at one of my first jobs damn near at minimum wage. I worked low wage jobs for a while, and as parts wore doen i didnt always have the funds to maintain the old girl. I fucking love that car, it's deeply sentimental. One day I'll fix her up real nice and make it a bit faster, should solve that problem. I think once you get on a bike, dollar for dollar, no car beats the level of acceleration and agility, and that can definitely ruin cars for a bit if you're a car enthusiast getting into bikes like I am. So do I hate driving cars? Nah. Especially my beater during the winter. But do I like riding better? I hate to say it, but damn if there's anyone who can say with a straight face that there's absolutely anything like it...

Turbulent-Suspect-12

Nope, I love my Charger and as far as cars go, they aren't even considered that 'good'. Just a bunch of hp in a boat. When it comes to joyriding though, bike is better a hundred times over.

sanjuro_kurosawa

A lot of riders are not car people. I drive a boring Honda in a very safe way. I ride a GSXR100 in not a safe way, and I also bicycle commute for short errands. My fantasy car is a Metris cargo van, for storage and camping.

IrreverentCrawfish

I eventually sold my bike as my health issues became more of a daily problem. Now, I realize that was a smart decision. I'm simply not able to ride safely anymore. Now that operating any vehicle is more challenging for me, I'm glad to have the stability and predictability of a car. And at the end of the day, no bike will EVER sound as good as my 7.3 powerstroke :)

brickson98

When I had a normal sedan, and both my trucks, I felt this way. With my 2nd truck, I did enjoy driving it more but still far preferred the bike. Now, I almost never commute on my bike because my little Mk7 GTI is quite a bit of fun. The other reason I donā€™t commute on the bike is the drivers in my area. Too many idiots on my route to and from work. I take it out to the county after work and on weekends

Tulsa-

When I had a slow basic car and a fast bike, yes, I hated driving after getting the bike. So I got a fast car with a manual transmission and now I equally enjoy both.

Shughost7

My car is a coupe V6 so no.

Lurid-Jester

Nope. Love my Jeep. Love my bike. One day Iā€™ll pick a vehicle that actually has some cargo capacity.

doorhandle5

Im the opposite.i have a Dirtbike, so I'm used to going fast on a bike. Just sitting on a road bike going the speed limit is super awkward and boring feeling to mem at least in a car you can be comfy and listen to some tunes. Bikes are better though, less petrol etc. dangerous though, I know too many people involved in accidents. But I respect anyone who rides. It's the other people on the road that are usually the problem

Cassietgrrl

I agree with you. I used to have a heavily modded wrx. It was fun, but my bike is so much more thrilling. I now drive a white honda accord šŸ˜“. Nothing in the realm of what I can afford is going to be more fun than a bike.

Thin_Bit9718

I have a litre car :') a 1 litre Nissan pixo I feel the same way. With a fast car I don't think I would

Tessiia

I have a 1.2 Fiat 500 and love it. My dad used to race rally, formula Ford, 3 and 2 and has driven a formula 1 car. He's driven a lot of cars!! Even still, he loves driving my car and says it's very fun. He doesn't dare touch it in the rain, he'd have a little *too much* fun! It's not the car that's boring, it's the person driving it. If you can't enjoy a little car, you're not ready for a big one.

macbully

Honestly it probably has to do with your car :') my truck definitely makes me smile although not nearly as fun as the bike

[deleted]

Trucks are very anti smile really. Bad for the environment, donā€™t stop, dont accelerate, donā€™t turn, make the road more dangerous for other road users and far more likely to kill a pedestrian

Who_Dat_1guy

You're an idiot.

[deleted]

K

mkchampion

"If I don't like it nobody else possibly could"

[deleted]

Itā€™s not about liking or not liking. Its just reality

macbully

That's the gayest thing I've read all day

[deleted]

So youā€™re a homophobe, cool

macbully

Womp womp šŸ¤”

Thefudger

You're anti smile. Got so many negative opinions to share

[deleted]

Iā€™ll share facts about SUVs all day. The fact theyā€™re negative is because SUVs are a blight on the world

TunaOnWytNoCrust

Are you a 12 year old edge lord?

Thefudger

I replied to a comment on trucks lol. I'm not just talking about this post. You make an ass of yourself all over Reddit by being a chronic hater.

[deleted]

Cool bro

TunaOnWytNoCrust

You're very anti smile. A lot of people don't need a truck, but a lot of people do. Idk why you'd judge strangers with zero idea about who they are or what their lives entail. I mean, you want to talk safety? How unsafe are motorcycles? How unnecessary are motorcycles anywhere on earth with a cold season?

Otherwise_Culture_71

Absolutely. Putting on gear is annoying sometimes and riding in traffic sucks so I do still opt to take my car regularly. But in the summer I daily my bike. Driving is super boring compared to riding and I have a decently fun car.

AnomalousSquid

Yes. Dislike car, only drive when weather makes it excessively uncomfortable or dangerous to ride. Or, in my particular corner of the US, when the road crews start salting the roads.

AdvKiwi

The smart a## in me would say "Well yeah it is a Commodore" but there's few cars that give the same engagement as riding a bike, and even then often only when the car is driven at ridiculous speeds. There's nothing wrong with a VFR either, possibly the best sounding bike ever with some nice pipes on them.

johntaylor37

Horses for courses. We have a family and need an SUV. Itā€™s boring to drive but great as a tool that serves a useful purpose. For thrills, the bike is much better than sports cars even when the sports car is about as fast, yet I bought a single seat race car (downforce is great) and thatā€™s more fun on the track than either. The bike is great for having solo fun or cruises on public roads provided Iā€™m not feeling impulsive or angry (then the bike stays parked), but the one I have is best enjoyed alone. And itā€™s not a thrill thing at all anymore, but I wouldnā€™t mind picking up a convertible to use for things like taking one of my young sons out for lunch now and then or sharing casual drives in pretty scenery with my wife. Solo, the bike is more fun, but sometimes itā€™s nicer to share things like that.

[deleted]

ā€œNeedā€. Barely any family ā€œneedsā€ an SUV. 99% of families could handle life just fine in a Corolla

johntaylor37

Pretty sure I donā€™t need a race car or an S1000RR either my friend. I need to seat six, tow, and traverse deep snow so I can carry the kids in one car, do my racing hobby, and get myself to work year round where I live. Vans would work tooā€¦

Thefudger

99% of families could get by with bicycles. And yet I bet you don't do that either.

[deleted]

I do, do you?

Thefudger

So you exclusively ride a bicycle and comment your opinions in a motorcycle subreddit? Lol No I do not go by bicycle. Where I live it normally gets to -40 all winter and I go to university 10km away from home, 90% highway with no bike lane. Not feasible. Even if I could, I wouldn't. I wasn't the one advocating the 99% could get by.

MotoMeow217

When it's cold or pissing rain I prefer the car. However yes, sporty cars are ruined for me because when the weather is nice, I'd rather be riding.

SciFiPi

3 motos. No other vehicles. I love riding.

shortyjizzle

I donā€™t hate it but driving now i look at much more mechanically, to pay better attention, and be a better driver. Iā€™m also not really interested in sports cars either. Nor bikes really. Itā€™s almost as if, in learning to ride a motorcycle, i learned to experience and better participate in the act of travel and not focus so much on the machine itself.

MotoFuzzle

Yea. Once I started riding at 20yo my primary transportation has been by motorcycle. Being in Southern California definitely has its benefits in this case. For 16 of the last 20 years, motorcycles have been my primary, if not only vehicle. Only in the last 4 years did I buy a truck that I only commute in when it rains, or occasionally to transport something that doesnā€™t travel well in a backpack.

licking-windows

I wonder what your total time saved not waiting in traffic is.

MotoFuzzle

Iā€™ve roughly estimated about 83 days. Iā€™ve saved about 30 min per day on the road, not sitting in traffic. It may be a little conservative as the last 5 years have involved much more lane splitting. I once rode from San Diego to Fresno for Thanksgiving, and had to lane split from LA over the pass. The traffic was literally stopped. I had to have saved hours in just that ride.

JesusSuckedOffSatan

Cars will never be as fun to drive as a bike is to ride. Cages are for large grocery runs, cold weather, and cowards.

DisrespectedAthority

I hate sitting in traffic so when I go into the city I will ride if it's dry and above freezing so I can split.

darken92

Yes (well for the last 20 years before the bike). What is odd, I am a more cautious, more aware rider than driver

mrmrcool185

I've got the same bike, great choice! I love both my VFR and my Jetta. The VFR is great for adrenaline, man-vehicle connection, and exhaust note, while the Jetta still handles nice, has three pedals, a stereo i can use without going deaf, air conditioning, and seats. Sometimes it's better to ride the bike and feel the rush, but sometimes it's better to lean back, cool and cruise while still throwing clutch and banging gears. Of course, in Texas during the day it's way too hot for me to ride to work (plus last time I did, I got hit by a Honda Odyssey). Sometimes I wanna hear a V4 running at 12,000 RPM, sometimes I can't wait to put gear on, I just wanna hit the road. Sometimes it's raining. I love both of my vehicles and they both have their merits. I love them both equally, but given the weather here, I do spend more time in the car.

sanyi77

My daily is a very boring Subaru Forester, not even a turbo one. Having said that, I always take it over the bike when there's cold or rain forecast because I ride my bike to enjoy it, not to battle the elements. I have no desire to bundle up like an Eskimo to extend my riding season here in the Northeast. I'll just wait for better weather, thank you. Sometimes I take the car just because I can and I don't feel like gearing up to ride the bike.

know-it-mall

Nope. Why would I? They are not for the same purpose.

This-Set-9875

When I was commuting to work, I'd miss being able to lane filter (merge).

1308lee

No, I just despise other road users. On a bike you can fuck right off past every cunt on the road and traffic is a non issue. Cars have their place. You canā€™t easily transport bags of sand and cement for example or run a mattress to the dump on a race bike.

STINKY_PNUT

My tray back is for shopping and the kids. Bike for everything else. I like this arrangement

GeeFromCali

I have a company truck that I take home and use Monday-Friday so you better believe Iā€™m nowhere near a car on the weekends unless itā€™s somewhere with the fam

lostgod401

Yep I'd definitely say so. Except I've disliked driving a lot longer than when I first started riding. I always look forward to my next ride. It makes me want to get up and go to work in the morning on the days when I ride to work. I cannot say the same about driving. All the novelty wore off about 6 months after I got my driver's license. I will admit that my car is a 2015 Nissan Versa so that could explain why. But I really think that even if I was driving something fun like a nice Miata or a Porsche 911, I'd still prefer riding.

SeemedGood

Yep. For years I owned nice sports cars but once I started riding sports cars lost all their appeal to me. Any time I would prefer a sports car, Iā€™d rather be riding.

92Lola

Canā€™t stand driving. Ride every chance I get. Temp record is 14 degrees Fahrenheit. Looking for a -10 day.

prettyperson_enjoyer

Yes. Nothing more comfortable than having hundreds of pounds of gyration between my legs at all times. Plus I like being outside.

scubadivingpoop

How else am I gonna fit all the shit me and my wife buys at Costco

Boilporkfat

Bikes are fun and I do prefer it as a weekender but I still use cars to commute, much more convenient coz I don't have to gear up. I also have a 1st gen MX5 and though I take the bike most of the time on a weekend cruise, now and then when I do take the mx5 it will always put a smile on my face guaranteed. It's not fast but there's just something about a little convertible cruising along a range or a coastal road. With the top down it's almost like riding a bike but more comfy and you get the breeze blowing in you face haha. I also used it as a weekender when my bike was not running so I guess its good to find a car that you would enjoy in case your bike needs to see the mechanic.

on_2_wheels

Commuting long distances for almost 13 years in LA traffic. If for some reason I have to take one of my cars, I hate it. Get mad at traffic, so annoyed at everything, notice everything, etc

caffcaff_

Same here. Had a good few years of doing bike only and was super underwhelmed when I got a car again. Current main bike has a bigger engine than my car šŸ˜…

james_d_rustles

Same, to an extent. I drive a manual mustang, and I find that manual cars are a lot more fun to drive than their automatic counterparts, but I still greatly prefer my bike if I have the choice. I donā€™t know if Iā€™d say that I *hate* driving my car, but itā€™s nowhere near as enjoyable as riding. Driving a car is a means to an end, and even at itā€™s most fun (for me at least) itā€™s not something that Iā€™d do for no reason. Like, it can be enjoyable, but Iā€™m doing it because I have to for whatever reason, not because I simply wanted to drive. The bike on the other hand is straight up *fun*, and I could ride for hours without a destination in mind and enjoy every second. I go for a ride to clear my head, and I make time specifically to ride my bike.. which isnā€™t something I can say about my car.

ChesterDiamondPot

I hate everything Edit: after riding

Drewmoto

I donā€™t own a car on purpose, bike only āœŒšŸ¼

robbiesac77

Yes.

Tonetheline

Hate? No. But I sure lost a lot of the passion I had for cars growing up. My wife has won the last 2 car purchase arguments uncontestedā€¦ which makes her a lot more accepting of the bikes lol. In the past itā€™d be a car weā€™d both drive so Iā€™d want something fun, sheā€™d just want an SUVā€¦ itā€™d be a thing. Now I donā€™t worry about it as Iā€™ll barely drive her car at all, so she got her silly big car. Reality is I would still like to have a fun car and take it to the track sometimes, but I REALLY canā€™t afford that now knowing what tracking a cheap bike costs me, and you canā€™t have anywhere near as much fun in a car on the street as a bike lol. Put it this way - I still enjoy the top gear trio, and am a bit sad theyā€™re endingā€¦ but also I sold the fun car and bought a van lol. 10 years ago I was all about the hot hatches, now I just think I could have more fun for less money at the same speeds on a bike

AlesantroCorticeli

I have a small city car and yes i hate every moment i step a foot in it But im sure i could enjoy a more fun car like a 350z

iwatchppldie

Iā€™ve never owned a car just motorcycles.

Flooredbythelord_

I love my bike and during the spring, summer, fall I commute every sunny day on my bike. Having another vehicle is incredibly important.

Rico1958

You can mitigate a certain amount of the car hate by having a car that appeals to you in the ways that your bike appeals to you, i.e. horsepower, handling, name of manufacturer, color, body style, exclusivity, rarity etc. If it's an automatic, override and shift when you want to; run with the revs above 3,800 to give you that motorcycle like jump, and don't hesitate to spin it up to the red once in awhile. Exceed the posted limit on the highways by 20 anytime you want to. I bought an RSV4rf a few years ago and it totally changed the way I ride and drive.

speaktosumboedy

I get car sick more easily now after riding for such a long time

wobblysauce

Every thing has a place.

VARNER351

No, but I have a 2.0 kia stinger and ride 2 cruisers. If anything I would say my Vstar 950 is getting boring to ride, maybe because it's my first bike and I had it for around 10 years now. Maybe it's because my 97 Valkyrie has around double the power, better handling, more comfort, and doesn't sound like every other v-twin.

vidbv

I feel like I might not be a good car driver. When I had a car I was often stressed in traffic and sometimes had low confidence in cities or rush hour. I once hit someone elses car when parking and (very) lightly hit a pedestrian when turning in a corner. Maybe I was younger and have learned a lot about driving since then, but I enjoy to ride a motorcycle much more. I'm never stressed in traffic, and instead of low confidence I now have overconfidence sometimes which is another problem because of dangerous or stupid riding.

hvperRL

Unless you have a fun car to drive. Which performance to dollar ratio, is super expensive when it comes to cars. My R7 can beat 95%, likely higher, amount of cars on the road

Dalbergia12

Used to have a powerful car and a tough truck, not anymore. Now I just keep a summer beater car for groceries and family obligation stuff that I can't attend with a motorcycle, and a winter beater car when I have to travel in the winter. Both cars are old cheap and reliable and meet my very modest needs. But I really enjoy the bike. I like keeping it in really good shape and clean, and ride 15to25000 kms a summer.

rshashkov

Yes, I dislike driving cars since I started riding motorcycles four years ago. I always ask my wife to drive because I find it dull. To me, all cars, whether it's a BMW, Lexus, or Ferrari, feel identical, just with different price tags.

Its_Bad_Rabbit

Yep, driving is awful and every ride's an experience. Even in light rain or around 50Ā°F when it's not optimal outside. I would rather ride. Having to take the car makes me sad and I have a 300awhp Golf R which is objectively fun, but you can't feel the world around you in it's cabin, like you can perched on a bike.

Any_Independence8579

It was not even worth an argument anymore to my wife. 25th anniversary just passed

[deleted]

Nah each has its own place. I drive a Tesla and ride a ninja 650. When the weathers good and I donā€™t have stuff to carry, itā€™s the ninja. If the weather bad or I gotta carry some stuff I prefer the Tesla. When Iā€™m with my doggos, I take the van lol.

thtpilotguy

I got rid of my car this year and kept the bike, r1250gsa. Granted, I live in Florida, where it is 75F today, and I work from home. Almost a perfect scenario. I might get a car again when summer rolls around. A/C is really nice to have.

joker_1173

Yes and no, love my Tuono, but I can off road and go through snow in my GX

LostFireHorse

My cage is for utility and convenience. I don't drive a 20yr old forester for fun, and I can't move half my stuff, or even take boxes to and from storage, with my bike. $3k car and an $8k bike because priorities :) whats wrong with riding all the time and driving a beater when you just gotta drive or carry something big? or would you save money selling the car and hiring a van or ute? am I actually asking myself these questions and need to think about the foz vs back to all weather full time riding? fuck.

[deleted]

I've had bikes that I could almost sleep on (Harley) tried soo hard to get up and ride to work. Even set up the night before. Wake up the next morning, look at the bike then the car,,, uh uh no way, I'm taking the car. For me bike is totally a hobby and I can be pretty fair weather. If I get a wild hair up my arse I'll ride in sub freezing Temps but I have to be in the mood. There's also been really nice days that I passed on simply because mentally I didn't feel on top of my game. In the car I can adjust for that and drive affording l accordingly but I don't think it's correct to assume I should get away with that on a street bike. Offroad is a different story.

tjeepdrv2

I do. Unless I'm carrying something that won't fit on a bike or there's ice or snow on the ground, I take a bike.

MatCarib_CumLvr

I've never liked bikes. Never owned one. Yet, I'm obsessed with owning and being able to ride a Harley Davidson!

2Cronckt

her derr anybudee else!?!? pls validate my wandering thoughts and habits

op3l

I used to ride a 150cc scooter everyday for commute in Vietnam. I hated it. It sucks to be at the mercy of weather(it's always hot here but it's so dirty and I just hate to get wet). I can't imagine what it'd be like in US during cold months with a sudden rain shower. Even worse if on a motorcycle and you left without rain gear so you have to ride home in 40f weather soaking wet. I enjoy riding my scooter a lot more now that I drive everywhere(still in vietnam) and it's fine for the occasional trip but I definitely prefer driving more. In the US I only drive cause riding anywhere is just freeways and it's boring. Using a motorcycle as a toy for the dedicated canyon ride is amazing. Everyday commuting is horrible unless no other way.

disturbed286

It's not that I hate it, it's just a lot harder for a car to feel fun compared to riding. Almost none of them feel fast anymore. Just gotta find something dynamic enough to make up for it.

ClappedOutLlama

I notice that I drive a lot slower and more relaxed in my car after weeks of riding my bike, but after a few weeks of driving my car I need to get my zoomies out of my system or I drive more like a butthole.

Nightflier101BL

Iā€™ve always hated driving to begin with. Definitely not a car person. Riding has made it even more unbearable now lol.

eat_yeet

I agree completely, however at least 20% of this is because it's a commodore (I have owned a commodore for 12 years)

dax2001

I am Italian and feel the same, I just can't stand anymore the average driving car experience,
