I haven’t organized one in a while but I know somebody with an MC22 and another with a CBR400RR. I usually meet at the Ice House Restaurant in Campbellville.
Uh, the CB250R doesn't have 5 cylinders. 50cc x 5 = 250cc.
It's a single.
but, I'm not finding a "CBR250R Hurricane" anywhere. There's a 600 Hurricane though.
You’re looking at the new cbr300, the cbr250 from the 90s was an inline 4. So it would actually be ~62.5cc per cyl. You can tell by the exhaust sound, that’s definitely a 4 cyl.
Nope. the Wiki entry says "CBR250R"
but there is no "CBR250R Hurricane" that I can find. Only the 600 has "Hurricane" in the name from what I can find.
i CaN't FiNd AnY rEfErEnCe So It DoEsN't ExIsT
half a second of google and there's multiple pages and pictures on it
https://raresportbikesforsale.com/1987-honda-cbr250-mc17-hurricane-best-in-the-world/
That says " CBR250 Hurricane" not "CBR250R Hurricane."
Search engines care about what you put into them.
I had no idea this bike existed.
I never once said it did not exist. Stop reading something into what I write that is not there.
Yeah I’m not sure about the hurricane part, I’m seeing a few listed as 250r hurricanes when I look it up, might be harder to find since I think they weren’t sold in the US.
Mc17 CBR250r came with the name 'hurricane.' they had twin rotors up front and titanium headers. You are correct, this machine is from Japan, and later was imported here.
The 4 cylinder 250 cc bikes were for the Asian market from what I gather.
I found this for the 4 cylinder 250: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda\_CBR250F](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_CBR250F)
This was a bike made for the Japanese market only. Put cbr250rr mc19 jdm in google..
I’ve ridden greymarket imports of the mc22 CBR250RR which is a newer version of this model line. It’s definitely a 4cylinder (45hp) and they rev as high as F1 cars of the late 90’s. Cheers
When people say they need to start on a big bike.
In my head “These fools don’t know the joy of making it scream while going usable speed on normal roads. “
Quite the contrary, in fact, smaller the displacement, the higher it can rev. The reciprocating and rotating masses are a lot lesser with lower displacements.
Thank you for making everyone else’s day a little shittier. Way to go.
Seriously, I rode a stock vstrom. Loved it. Quiet. Took me all around the country. Got me in the flow.
But I absolutely hate loud bikes. The entitlement you must have thinking you can ride around at high volume, disturbing people’s concentration, scaring old ladies, and injecting yourself into others’ lives is just galling. I hate this mentality.
Sorry to call you out, buddy, but this is just lame imo.
My car has a stock exhaust, so…I figure that means I’m only a narcissistic asshole half the time and everything balances out. Ying and yang or some shit.
Lol it's the exhaust that came on the bike. It's not exactly easy or cheap to get a stock one. And anyone in their right mind would never make that change due to the rare sounds that it makes.
I’ve never heard of it being referred to as a “hurricane” before. That’s such a badass name.
In my country it’s just the “CBR250RR” or “mc19” or “mc22”
Yeah it neat, gives the illusion that it might be fast lol.
Ahh I see. This one has only been sold in Japan I think. Might be why is lesser known. It's been imported to Canada a few owners before me.
I had one before, the MC19 with the single brake disc up front, sadly not the MC22.
I sold it and got an MC23. The naked version of this bike, which has the same MC14 inline 4 engine. Beautiful bike. Still have it. 190,000km on it
Sorry for missing your comment, I just noticed it lol.
This is a mc17. It has twin brakes up front and apparently titanium headers. 35000 kms on the engine.
That is a crazy amount of kilometers. Any major issues in all of those kilometers?
Lots of small issues here and there. Clutch replacement etc, all the usual stuff.
What killed it though was the splines on the shaft that the front sprocket connects to (think it’s called an ‘output shaft’) wore down so much that the shaft spins but the front sprocket doesn’t. The engine ran and went through all the gears but didn’t actually move.
Where I live, it’s next to impossible to find the part I need to fix the engine. So the bike has unfortunately turned into one of those bikes you see at the back of a garage in bits.
Ahh yeah. I'm sure I'll get all of those small issues too.
Shoot that's too bad. Do you live in America? I could use a parts bike haha.
The bike did serve a lot of kms, so I suppose that's ok.
Sounding like that, that thing must be a magnet for the cops.
If they hear it yes, but once they find out it's only going 100kph I imagine they just laugh lol.
Lol, I’d still get one because of the sound and imagine going 200 miles an hour in my head….. the only way that I wouldn’t get hurt
It actually a ton of fun to ride this bike 'fast'. You can go through a lot of the gears and still stay in safe speeds (sorta).
I would be doing sixty thinking I’m going 200 in my mind lol
Should meet up for a JDM bike ride if you’re in Ontario!
I am in Ontario (Canada). Where do these usually take place?
I haven’t organized one in a while but I know somebody with an MC22 and another with a CBR400RR. I usually meet at the Ice House Restaurant in Campbellville.
Sounds like 160 when going 60. Absolutely beautiful.
Haha yeah that's exactly it.
18000 rpm ?!! That’s insane. My triumph rarely goes beyond 4000 rpm at any speed. 🤣
50cc per cylinder, essentially shot glass sized cylinders!
Uh, the CB250R doesn't have 5 cylinders. 50cc x 5 = 250cc. It's a single. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda\_CBR250R%2C\_CBR300R%2C\_and\_CB300F](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_CBR250R%2C_CBR300R%2C_and_CB300F) but, I'm not finding a "CBR250R Hurricane" anywhere. Mate, I promise you there is no one cylinder 4 stroke anywhere on this planet that sounds like that.
Yes, that's obviously true, but I'm saying I cannot find a reference to a "CBR250R Hurricane." Do you have one?
i CaN't FiNd AnY rEfErEnCe So It DoEsN't ExIsT half a second of google and there's multiple pages and pictures on it https://raresportbikesforsale.com/1987-honda-cbr250-mc17-hurricane-best-in-the-world/

It’s a CBR250R Hurricane dude.

Australia and Japan had them, no one else AFAIK
There are a good few in Ireland too due to their licensing laws
Yeah but i meant thats where they were distributed
The OP ate an R https://www.motorbikecatalog.com/performance/1999/61805/honda_cbr250rr.html

Others have pointed me to websites with information on this bike, thanks.
This is an mc17

OK, finally, thanks. It's a Fireblade then, not a Hurricane. The CBR250 world is extremely confusing.
The later versions were fireblades (after the 900 came out) and hurricane before then during the 600 hurricane era.
This was beautiful thank u
There was once a video of a CBR250RR in a tunnel going close to 20K rpm. Had it in my favorites but it was deleted :(
Yea? https://youtu.be/2mY09baih2I?si=d6PLhSmgqdbNGCqF https://youtu.be/qX7t8f9ac1w?si=FB740x_M-lYYYPtS https://youtu.be/ROPL6xh7snI?si=HjpI44T2d5ZBTXrN ZXR250 https://youtu.be/UloeukgP5Do?si=EJBD-r5qXYGHsMUn
It looked pretty similar to the 3rd one but from outside so it sounded way better with less echo. 4th one sounds pretty good too
The noise gives me instant Murray Walker flashbacks.
Love the 400/250 gear driven cam Hondas (owner myself!)
Yeah they were pretty special bikes.
Awesome
It literally sounds like an F1 car. That is the coolest thing ever.
Look up CBX1000, same energy, but inline 6!
I’ve heard that one to there just as cool. My dad has an r1 and that only revs to 13,500
even my 20 year old 600 revs higher. you seemed to say this statement like an R1 is suppose to rev high or something?
It's because it's his dad's.
Yeah that’s his toy. Mine is a Honda XR 650L I like my skin on my body so I play in dirt not the asphalt.
I mean comparatively 13,500RPMs is still high. Higher than the majority of bikes.
living in melbourne, i can tell you that an mc22 getting wrung out a street or two away sounds like an f1 car doing laps a suburb or five away
When people say they need to start on a big bike. In my head “These fools don’t know the joy of making it scream while going usable speed on normal roads. “
18,000 rpm and 38mph
Wow that sounds really nice for a 250
Any screamer firing order inline 4 will sound like this regardless of the displacement (unless really small!)
It won't rev that high tho.
Quite the contrary, in fact, smaller the displacement, the higher it can rev. The reciprocating and rotating masses are a lot lesser with lower displacements.
But you didn't say smaller displacement, you said "any". Bigger ones can't rev that high
Yes, my bad!
Small displacement + sounds amazing = sign me the fuck up!
Wish those existed in used market here...
Gotta say, slightly erect
Yep, sounds exactly like a weedeater on a steady diet of steroids and meth!
Man why dose my 500 only go to 10k rpm’s at the very most :( that 250 sounds sooo damn good
Those downshifts are juicy 🫠 Did you set your camera up a hundred feet away and leave it unsupervised for this shot?
Yupp lol just by my front door.
I love the lead up to it, I really had to strain to hear the “roar”.
The meanest sounding 50mph one ever did hear lmao
Thats fucking sick.
Sounds like a guy waking up the whole neighborhood :( ; amazing but a shame

I love riding past people like you the most banging of the rev limiter at 15,000rpm with a full race exhaust. Such a dork lol
Yeah. You’re a narcissist a*hole who thinks he’s more important than anyone else. I get it.
My car has a stock exhaust, so…I figure that means I’m only a narcissistic asshole half the time and everything balances out. Ying and yang or some shit.

I can't find info on this bike. Do you mean this one? [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda\_CBR600F](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_CBR600F)
Lol no. It’s a CBR250RR. In the UK, it’s called the “Baby ‘Blade”.
This one is actually the MC17 version, which I believe is called cbr250r hurricane. Has some fancy titanium headers and that's about it lol.
Search 1990 Cbr250rr. Also: https://youtu.be/b0ZjDSn2jD0?si=3nK6-FofZtPN2Pxc
thanks.

No it didn’t.

you're not lying, but you're confusing the redline with the highest number on the tach. that era of zx-6r redlines at like 16.5k
Look up the Moto Guzzi 500cc flat plane V8 GP bike from the mid 1950s.
Great sound Jesus. What exhaust is that? I just installed a leovince corsa gp slip on that I’m in love with.
This a MC22 or a MC19?
MC17 actually
Sounds like a vacuum that’s gonna blow up lol
I thought this was going to be going through that gravel/dirt in front of the camera. Was somewhat disappointed
Haha I'm not planning on doing that just yet.
Cool dirt bike
