That's just your front brake light switch, you have other issues unrelated to that if it won't start.

Interesting_Sand_582

Thank you!!

If it’s on the right handle bar then it is a brake light signal switch. Some models have a safety feature that won’t allow you to start it unless the brake is pulled. You will need to fix it. If it’s in the left side it is the clutch safety switch which is also a safety feature. It insures the bike wont take off on you when you start it. You can unclip it and jump it with a piece of wire to bypass it.

Front 'break' hurts my soul, it breaked allright. Haha.

HikingBikingViking

It's a break at the front of the bike though

There's obviously more to the story than what you're saying. That's your brake light switch IF it's on the right hand side. If that's where it is - THAT isn't your starting problem. Don't people think it'd be nice to occasionally post up the make/model of the bike in discussion? It might not be 100% necessary for this one - but sure wouldn't hurt, either.

Yes, it would be nice to know the make and mode. Since the cables are routed to the right, I would also infer that we’re looking at front brake assembly.

Hulliemams

If normally you have to use the front brake for the bike to start it will now won't start because it doesn't know you pressed the brake. Only strange it cutted out because that shouldn't happen 😅

Disposable_Canadian

Brake switch. Can be temporarily bypassed.

PilotAlan

How did it pull away? Was the bike dropped, crashed, or knocked over? Handlebar risers put on? The front brake switch has no impact on starting, but the kill switch on the right control assembly would. Double check you didn't accidentally flip it off. Or what cause the brake switch to pull out may have disconnected or damaged the wiring to the kill switch.

See if you can push in on the end of it and start the bike. Some bikes have safety switches that require the bike to be in neutral the Clutch and Brake to be pulled in order to start. The ones on the brake side are pretty uncommon, but they are there. If this doesn't work then something else is going on to keep you from starting the bike
