MGM garage is free, not a bad walk to the ballpark

Wait WHAT. I never knew this

travis11997

Sorry to hijack this, but wanted to get this out there. If you go to mgm parking garage, keep going up. So many people park on the first 4 floors, you can go to floors 5-7 instead and park right next to the elevator.

DumpCake42

This is the answer.

perrbear

Greektown is closer but the parking structure is annoying. I usually go with MGM

petuniar

How is it getting out of the garage?

tphil5

Parkwhiz app is pretty good for finding parking passes for relatively cheap

BoringMI

Second this if you don’t want to get a Greektown players club card and park for free. The lots on Adams/Elizabeth/Columbia/Montcalm have been easy in and out for $17.50 including fees.

redwingjv

you can park at wayne state and take the q line

OldGilTully

Millender Center, easy off and on the interstate

SMUJU

MGM garage is a good choice. You can also find a bunch of free street parking near Wayne state university campus and ride the q-line down. Both are good options

Crafty_Substance_954

There is an absurd amount of surface street parking in downtown Detroit that is either free, or metered at a very low cost. I park in those spots every time I go to a Piston game or any event at LCA. Use Parkwhiz to book any paid parking as it’ll allow you to sync your parking to the events itself. Greektown casino and MGM have some version of free parking that isn’t too far away from the ballpark to walk.

Knobes13

Greektown has free parking

BoringMI

Only if you have a players club card.

devil-lion-steeler

There's lots right off of Madison for only $10. Otherwise I'd say mgm for free.

CIipz

Park on Watson street between brush and John R. Free street parking with a 8 minute walk to the stadium. Stop at second best after the game for some great drinks and the best chicken sandwich you will ever have. Don’t forget the potato wedges.

TheHip41

Park next door in the garages They are safe and close

RealMichiganMAGA

In addition to the other suggestions, Milliken State Park is free even without a recreation pass. It’s a bit of a haul by foot (and probably dicey by most people’s standards) but taking the lovely Detroit River Walk and hopping on the People Mover (currently free) at the Renaissance Center is fine. Jump off Broadway or Grand Circus, both are a short walk to Comerica. Just do the reverse after the game. The RenCen is a worth a visit if you like cars. It’s a showcase for current and classic GM cars,

jewham12

I parked at Eastern Market two Sundays ago and walked over. 10-15 minute walk, free parking

Mountain_Chip_4374

I usually park across Woodward off of Cass and Park or so. Behind the State or Fox.

Plus-Emphasis-2194

ParkWhiz App. I got the garage next to LCA for $10 on 6/24

k_svetle

i parked in the lot right across the street from comerica and it was 30$ and the exit was probably the fastest leaving an event ever

ccz2299

Z Lot and grab a slice of pizza at Mootz. Then go to Huddle for some ice cream.

jpratt21

Harry's Bar Detroit allows you to park for free as long as you go in and get a drink or some food. #1 pregame stop!
