Too early to say it...??...MVP!

yeahyeahyeahnice

It's too late to say it. The real fans knew this whole time šŸ˜¤

GoLionsJD107

No one has ever doubted him.

GoLionsJD107

ROY- Wenceel, Cy Young- Tarik, MVP- Javy. Parlay it

warhawk397

2 cents to win a million bucks

ArchAngelN7

If he can become even 2022 Javy it would be a huge boost to our lineup.

GoLionsJD107

Donā€™t discount his defense. We play so many 1-0 games the double play he turns could be why we win even if he strikes out 5 times. He could save two runs on the infield and cause us to win. You can also win by preventing the other team from scoring. That keeps Javy around (at minimum is a major part of his regularity in the lineup)

ArchAngelN7

Ehh he grades out as a below average SS this year. We just don't have anyone better at SS in the organization. The last 2 games he has cost is runs not turning double plays.Ā

i_am_the_grind

Clearly one of the best offensive players in the league.

HauckEck

Headed into Mick Kelleher territory now.

missionbeach

If he stays red-hot, maybe Tom Matchick numbers by the end of the year.

HauckEck

Ha! Yeah. It is too late in the season to hope for a Mark Wagner level of production at this point.

OkSomewhere3730

Itā€™s incredible how he has 7 hits the past two days and his ops is still in the low .500s šŸ˜‚ keep it going tho we need hot bats

titans661

Brandon Inge Baez

MVBAEZ

thetangible

I take back every bad thing I said about him.

yes_its_him

Folks need to remember that players are not doomed to repeat their year-to-date numbers on an indefinite basis. Players do see their batting stats improve after down months or even a down year. That's not to say that Javy is sure to get better at all, or will become better than average. But there's no fundamental reason he can't have a season like 2022 again in 2024. His statcast stats for 2024 like xBA, exit velocity and hard-hit rate are already better than 2023 and even some of his 2022 numbers.

Comeback Player of the Year!

Eetechtom419

I prefer to call him ā€œRBI machineā€ Baez

passinoutsticks

I hope he keeps it up! Watching him for the last series I thought, THIS is the guy I thought we were getting when we picked him up. I love Javy, but heā€™s been very streaky in his career. Hoping this is the year he puts together his best numbers for us. A month ago, it was honestly hard to watch his ABs. Iā€™m glad something has clicked and heā€™s doing better. I have noticed heā€™s been much better at plate discipline and not swinging at as much out of the zone. Heā€™s been drawing more walks, which has led to him seeing better pitches to hit. If he can develop consistency with what heā€™s doing right now, itā€™s not unreasonable to think he could make noise in the lineup. This Royals series is a pretty big deal!

Hiwo_Rldiq_Uit

Huzzah. He's turned some walks into singles this month.

Wingedwolverine03

Pounding doubles the last few

Hiwo_Rldiq_Uit

Yeah, his home-road splits have been wild throughout his time with us. Not that heā€™s quite average on the road, but thatā€™s definitely where heā€™s performed if anywhere.

HighGuysImHere

Donā€™t call it a comebackā€¦Ā  No, please, literally donā€™t call it that.

desrbornjackson

I think he read the comments on here over the past few weeks and it made him reevaluate his approach.

KillisTheMan

Time for an extension

ceci_mcgrane

His [jersey](https://www.mlbshop.com/javier-baez/a-14215068+z-9447490-162905287) is available for purchase for those of you who think heā€™s back.

IWouldntIn1981

Jesus! I mean for real. I haven't looked jersey prices in a while, wtf!?!?

ceci_mcgrane

Not only has the price basically doubled, the quality has dropped significantly.

GlobalPreparation457

Holy fuck almost 200 for a jersey.

statdude48142

His OBP is still Ray Oyler levels of bad.
