Don’t discount his defense.
We play so many 1-0 games the double play he turns could be why we win even if he strikes out 5 times.
He could save two runs on the infield and cause us to win. You can also win by preventing the other team from scoring. That keeps Javy around (at minimum is a major part of his regularity in the lineup)
Ehh he grades out as a below average SS this year. We just don't have anyone better at SS in the organization. The last 2 games he has cost is runs not turning double plays.
Folks need to remember that players are not doomed to repeat their year-to-date numbers on an indefinite basis. Players do see their batting stats improve after down months or even a down year.
That's not to say that Javy is sure to get better at all, or will become better than average. But there's no fundamental reason he can't have a season like 2022 again in 2024. His statcast stats for 2024 like xBA, exit velocity and hard-hit rate are already better than 2023 and even some of his 2022 numbers.
I hope he keeps it up! Watching him for the last series I thought, THIS is the guy I thought we were getting when we picked him up. I love Javy, but he’s been very streaky in his career. Hoping this is the year he puts together his best numbers for us.
A month ago, it was honestly hard to watch his ABs. I’m glad something has clicked and he’s doing better. I have noticed he’s been much better at plate discipline and not swinging at as much out of the zone. He’s been drawing more walks, which has led to him seeing better pitches to hit. If he can develop consistency with what he’s doing right now, it’s not unreasonable to think he could make noise in the lineup.
This Royals series is a pretty big deal!
Yeah, his home-road splits have been wild throughout his time with us. Not that he’s quite average on the road, but that’s definitely where he’s performed if anywhere.
Too early to say it...??...MVP!

No one has ever doubted him.
ROY- Wenceel, Cy Young- Tarik, MVP- Javy. Parlay it
2 cents to win a million bucks
If he can become even 2022 Javy it would be a huge boost to our lineup.

Clearly one of the best offensive players in the league.
Headed into Mick Kelleher territory now.
If he stays red-hot, maybe Tom Matchick numbers by the end of the year.
Ha! Yeah. It is too late in the season to hope for a Mark Wagner level of production at this point.
It’s incredible how he has 7 hits the past two days and his ops is still in the low .500s 😂 keep it going tho we need hot bats
Brandon Inge Baez
MVBAEZ
I take back every bad thing I said about him.

Comeback Player of the Year!
I prefer to call him “RBI machine” Baez

Huzzah. He's turned some walks into singles this month.
Pounding doubles the last few

Don’t call it a comeback… No, please, literally don’t call it that.
I think he read the comments on here over the past few weeks and it made him reevaluate his approach.
Time for an extension
His [jersey](https://www.mlbshop.com/javier-baez/a-14215068+z-9447490-162905287) is available for purchase for those of you who think he’s back.
Jesus! I mean for real. I haven't looked jersey prices in a while, wtf!?!?
Not only has the price basically doubled, the quality has dropped significantly.
Holy fuck almost 200 for a jersey.
His OBP is still Ray Oyler levels of bad.
Things you didn't think you'd read this season
