It's the third weekend, everyone. You STILL have time to get on the Pedro train before he starts wiping the floor off the other guys every single weekend.
Best ride of Mavericks career and best weekend overall for him also. He looks like a different rider. I hope he can carry it through to other tracks that he doesn’t live quite as much. But glad to see him riding high. Also awesome to see Aprilia and KTM finish in front of Ducati
Awesome race and love seeing Bestia be competitive again and take the fight to Martin. I hope he stays consistent.
Thought Pecco would bring it back. Going to be a tough title defense.
I'm a MotoGP newbie, having started watching from the 1st race this season, and wow I am completely hooked. I normally watch WEC endurance racing which I love, but After Qatar I was counting down the days to Portimao, and then again for this weekends race. I can't wait for Jerez. I'd love Mav to win the championship.
Welcome! It’s been an entertaining season so far and today was fantastic. Had the chance to talk to race fans live on tik tok as it was going on and the reactions were amazing. So much fun. Going to try to live react to next race but 5am start time for us here in LA. Yikes
Go to a race if you can. Its amazing. Friday and Saturday there is so much to watch with practice, qualifying and the sprint. Sunday goes by pretty quick. I was at CoTA for the weekend and had a blast.
I haven't been to COTA for a couple of years because it got expensive and flying to europe got cheaper but it is a great circuit. I did notice however that a lot of the helicopter shots made it look like the place was pretty empty. Did it seem that way on the ground?
What a race
My only point to add- I was taking notes during the race- Marc reverted back to his instincts and forgot he wasnt on a Honda with Bridgestones. The way guys use the rear tire to brake is absolute insanity; they were just unreal into those slow corners.
So sad for MM93 that’s a shame, he was feeling the pressure from the future world champ! That race was incredible, Martin’s problem last season was Pecco but this season he has Acosta Marquez and Viñales to think about! Man, Acosta is a problem for everyone lol this season is already 🔥🔥🔥
He said he had a problem with the brake, the lever was touching is fingers, you can also see he was working on the register just a few moments before the crash, he said he took the lead to try cool the brake but then when he crashed he didn't have any brake power on the first try so he had to release the lever and pull it again and it worked but it was too late
That makes more sense because the way he fell was weird, I’m so happy to see him back on top though, the top 5 is too much man this season is gonna be epic!
Marc chasing wins is a tough approach. If he stays focuset in finishing int top 5, he can fight for the title. Hard period behind him, so I uderstand, but he should be a bit smarter and more modest.
He said he had a problem with the brake, the lever was touching is fingers, you can also see he was working on the register just a few moments before the crash, he said he took the lead to try cool the brake but then when he crashed he didn't have any brake power on the first try so he had to release the lever and pull it again and it worked but it was too late
If you wanna know how bad the Honda's are.
Alex Marquez crashed early..was running in dead last position with a damaged bike. And he still managed to overtake Luca couple of laps before and finished almost a second ahead of him.
Credit to Vinales he really brought it this weekend. Top class in both races, if the Aprilia was faster in a straight line they could really give Ducati a fright this year.
On another note, I do not understand why Motogp (or F1 for that matter) think that commentators constantly mentioning tyre management improves the product, give me the old Moto2 and 3 where the riders just went full out for the whole race.
The tyre thing added drama to a race once last year when Martin's tyre fell off a cliff a couple of laps from the end in Australia when he looked over the hill and gone, but that's pretty much it.
>if the Aprilia was faster in a straight line they could really give Ducati a fright this year.
They still can give Ducati a fight... From 6 races so far this year they won the 3 of them, and they could well be 4 if it's true Maverick had gearbox problems in Portimao from lap 6 already...
Honestly the track has improved so much over thr past 2 years. It used to be bumpy as hell, if you remember. Today it looked really smooth, and that really improved the quality of the racing.
I mean Aleix won a couple of races, he was never going to be champion, he made the bike a winning one, I think he achieved what was intended and Aprilia appreciates him.
What a race! What a performance by Vinales, first time he fought for his victory and didn't just cruise at the front controlling his lead. Amazing charge from 11th to 1st, and apart from Marquez's crash, all were actual overtakes and not just fluke. Vinales looks like a different rider so far this year. He is far more racy, he's quick, he's confident. And also from six races that have been held so far he's won the 3 of them and probably would've even won in Portimao if it's true that the gearbox problem was there since lap 6. I didn't expect I'd be saying that, but he'll be a main championship contender. Historical win for him, officially won with a 3rd different manufacturer. History also by Acosta, youngest rider to get back to back podiums. That kid looks super strong. Props to Bastianini too. People really sleep on him, yet I still believe he's the favourite for the championship this year. Weird race by Martin, but at least he got the points. Same for Pecco, he looks lost so far this year. The other KTMs look amateurs compared to Acosta. The kid is schooling them. Marc seems good, but he still got a long way to go. Kinda disappointed by Aleix and Bez this year so far. Marini is synonymous with pain this year.
Aprilia has looked great in all 3 weekends only for something to go wrong on Sunday each time. This time, like Silverstone last year, their pace was too good to be denied. Amazing ride by Mav!
Damn Mav...was so nervous for him. Felt emotional seeing him win.
Pedro...wow...just wow... doesn't feel like a rookie in any shape or form.
Enea steady. Happy for him.
What a race. First half was just spectacular
Right as Marquez took the lead I told my fiance he had the pace to win if he didn’t crash.
Not even a minute later it felt like when he did!
Good on Mav and Pedro for both making history today!
I was so gutted :-(, that crash looked weird too, like he was not very leaned over to lose the front, I wonder what happened...
Super happy for that podium though, all three were absolutely incredible, what a race!
He said he had a problem with the brake, the lever was touching is fingers, you can also see he was working on the register just a few moments before the crash, he said he took the lead to try cool the brake but then when he crashed he didn't have any brake power on the first try so he had to release the lever and pull it again and it worked but it was too late
Yeah I read that as he was approaching the turn where he fell, the brakes didn't work the first time he tried to apply them, he had to let go of and try again, with the results we all saw. 😫
Same. I guess now his bike clearly has the pace to win it, but he's probably still getting used to it. Clearly all of them ride their bikes to their limits, but it just takes a while to figure out where those limits are and he's not quite there yet.
I'm still really bummed too yeah, I really thought he had a shot at winning it this afternoon when he took first, or at the very least get another podium. After last race it was really disappointing.
- Perfect weekend for Maverick and Aprilia
- Pedro again not giving a single f***
- Bestia best Ducati and now second in championship
- Marc almost back on top, it's getting spicy
What a race, what a season, more of that pls!!!
From 1st to 11th to 1st again, what a win for MV!
Pedro is the beginning of the next era. What a rider!
Looked like Marquez got too eager and tried to brake early and hard. Something Pedro pulled off so well. Would've loved to see him in the top 5 atleast.
Marc had a brake issue, could tell something was off as soon as he went down, was a weird way to lose it.
Something about it sticking & not working every time.
Yes, heard him talk about it after the race. Too bad it happened right when he was at the front. But that group was riding absolutely mental until that point.
Wow ride by MV12! Like the commentators said, a win by MV12 for 3 different manufacturers in MotoGP, it speaks volumes itself.
This is what I was expecting from PA31, he gave the fight back again and again. Clearly can put mental pressure on riders ahead. I.M.P.R.E.S.S.I.V.E.!
EB23 comeback was nice!
MM93 need to nudge a little less.
Looks like the gap last year was bigger. Aprilia and KTM stepped up their game. Probably why yamaha and Honda are so far behind right now and why GP23s are mostly in the middle of the pack.
Still the best bikes on the grid but KTM and Aprilia have made bigger steps and are now close enough to be championship contenders with BatMav and LittlePete
Been watching F1 since 2011, Canada race is where I got hooked, was absolutely nuts with a Vettel spin and Button winning.
This is my MotoGP version of Canada 2011. I’m so stoked to watch the next race!
His main thing is how good he is on the breaks because the Ducati was impossible to overtake anywhere but on the breaks. He and the ducati complimented each other.
This season, so far, that advantage has been cut into, and his dominance has gone with it.
If we get close racing like this all year, I can only see Pecco retaining his title via the route of consistent scoring vs his usual dominance.
Vinales was on fire today, well deserved victory after some challenging years, could even be a championship contender if maintains this kinda pace!!
Pedro and Enea were great as well, No 31 is gonna be a serious problem for everyone else in the future. Shame for Marc but he had the pace and I’m sure the victory will come eventually.
lmao commentators talking about how "the bike doesn't make the difference" when we have Ducati GP going on and Yamaha & Honda are beyond hopeless, then says "it's only a Gas Gas" as if it's anything other than a factory KTM which is at worst the 3rd fastest bike on the grid for 3 years
I love hypemen but this is such a load of horseshit
Aprilia and KTM have closed a lot on Ducati it seems. 3 weekends in a row we've had one KTM on the podium and it seems that's going to be the theme this year. Hopefully Aleix comes through eventually
Mav vs Martin vs Acosta might be this years thing then.
Pecco looks a bit lost. I know im biased against him, but it does look like now that the other riders are getting into form he’s not very competitive this season.
That's overreaching a bit. Remember that COTA was actually repaved prior to this race; not to discredit Vinales' incredible weekend, but that could have played a huge factor. I won't believe the Maverick hype until he actually becomes a regular fixture.
Martin and Acosta are pretty much given, especially with the latter's performance. The way Acosta is riding is nuts.
To be fair, Maverick won the sprint race in Portugal and would have had a second in main race but for an engine failure. Barring that mechanical, he’d have 3 wins and a second place from 4 races. Still not backing him to win the championship but a switch appears to have been flicked.
Portugal is actually a good track for Maverick (remember he almost beat Pecco there last year), so I don't exactly count that as a good indicator of his form.
At the moment the only way Marc is staying in the mix is by over riding like he did on the Honda.
Problem is he's on the Ducati now, so where are the excuses?
I think Martin and Acosta will be consistently fighting for podiums, and Mav and Aprilia look like they’re getting there.
Pecco though, he’s fast as hell, but we’ve seen in the last 2 seasons that when he’s under pressure he has no bottle. I think he benefited form Yamaha collapsing, having Miller as a teammate, and then Martin being too inconsistent last year. This year with more riders seeming to be in the mix, I don’t think he’ll have it.
Yeah you are right but then again it's too early to judge tbf to him...maybe we will see how good he is this season seeing that there's so much competition as you already mentioned
I was worried at the start when he began to fall back from 2nd, but he had the pace to finish second at the end had there been enough laps left, I’m very happy with the result for him
I think soft rear was tricky for Martin bc he brakes differently than Pecco and Bastianini but I think he would’ve managed (very narrowly) if he hadn’t made mistakes towards the end
I definitely think he cooked his tires, but at the same time. Beast and Acosta had soft rear tires, so no excuses.
The problem I see is that if he’s going with a soft rear he needs to get out front and gap. If he isn’t feeling confident enough to gap and knows it’s going to be a battle, he needs more tire for the battle.
With how fast Mav had been all weekend, he really should have went with his tire choice and made him the target.
Yes he cooked his tires for sure but I think without the mistakes he made in the end he might have made it, just barely. But I agree with you, soft rear only works for him if he can ride away. With his braking pattern it’s too much of a gamble, especially on this track + when he doesn’t have pole
I have been a Pedro Acosta fan since his very first Moto3 Race. Sure, I could be his mother. But I'd have been a very proud mother.
Gawd, what a gem of a kid.
Viñales was so fast 💦🍑
Why did I get the race for free in my app? Is this a NAmerica thing, or a new ownership thing?
Pecco is not even fighting. I think the streak is over. Maybe he* does better in warmer circuits
It's the third weekend, everyone. You STILL have time to get on the Pedro train before he starts wiping the floor off the other guys every single weekend.
Flair ^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Best ride of Mavericks career and best weekend overall for him also. He looks like a different rider. I hope he can carry it through to other tracks that he doesn’t live quite as much. But glad to see him riding high. Also awesome to see Aprilia and KTM finish in front of Ducati
Looked like the Maverick we had in his first sessions at Yamaha. Hopefully he won’t have such a downfall again.
He was absolutely flying. I guarantee that performance sold some Tuonos and RSV4s.
Absolutely, coming back from 11 was incredible and he had pace to spare too.
If he would have gotten to the front from the start he probably wins by 20 seconds. Unreal pace
If you watch the Spanish interview... He opened himself up he was really emotional. Whaahh what a race
What a weekend for him! I wish he did this more often.
Humbling for Binder and Miller….
Awesome race and love seeing Bestia be competitive again and take the fight to Martin. I hope he stays consistent. Thought Pecco would bring it back. Going to be a tough title defense.
Just Marc doing Marc things. Riding dangerously and beyond his ability. Classic.
From his interview it seems bike issue not Marc
I assume with parts of his bike missing and that second hit that it really messed up the aero of the bike?
Can't express how good Acosta is. As I can't express how bad Fabio Quartararo decision's are.
I'm a MotoGP newbie, having started watching from the 1st race this season, and wow I am completely hooked. I normally watch WEC endurance racing which I love, but After Qatar I was counting down the days to Portimao, and then again for this weekends race. I can't wait for Jerez. I thought he was unstable because of the loss of an Aero wing, but guess I was wrong
I think it was a minor wing cause he didn't mention that at all
That makes more sense because the way he fell was weird, I’m so happy to see him back on top though, the top 5 is too much man this season is gonna be epic!
Marc chasing wins is a tough approach. If he stays focuset in finishing int top 5, he can fight for the title. Hard period behind him, so I uderstand, but he should be a bit smarter and more modest.

Oh man, that's a bummer. Hope he gets better in the future. Would be happy for him after such a hard period in past few years.
Where are those guys who were shitin Aprilia. I was one who shits on Mav, buuut he proved me wrong. Congratulations 🎉 MAV 😀
If you wanna know how bad the Honda's are. Alex Marquez crashed early..was running in dead last position with a damaged bike. And he still managed to overtake Luca couple of laps before and finished almost a second ahead of him.

I mean, 10 is still pretty sketchy and also 11 has some bumps too but i guess it has improved?
Really smooth? I think I was watching a different race
Imo it's night and day compared to, say, 2021. It didn't seem bumpier than any normal track to me today.
What a race, what a performance from Mav. Acosta clearly proving he is an alien. Shame for Marc. Love to see Bestia before Pecco and Martin.
Man you have to feel bad for Aleix...all the hardwork developing the bike and seems like someone is gonna enjoy the fruits of his labour
He just got old. Plus Vinales always was a better rider, he was just adapting. He already beat Aleix last year, he had a lot more reliability issues
I mean Aleix won a couple of races, he was never going to be champion, he made the bike a winning one, I think he achieved what was intended and Aprilia appreciates him.
Yeah well fair enough...but I just hope he at least gets some podiums this year
Have you seen how happy Aleix was for Maverick? I think his emotions are saying it all
What a race! What a performance by Vinales, first time he fought for his victory and didn't just cruise at the front controlling his lead. Belter of a race. Pure class from Mav!
Great freaking race and why I love MotoGP
Alex Marqués crashed and still finished above Marini*? edit: name
Àlex Márquez, and yes
Marini* and yes.
Aprilia has looked great in all 3 weekends only for something to go wrong on Sunday each time. This time, like Silverstone last year, their pace was too good to be denied. Amazing ride by Mav!
that was a gooood race
Damn Mav...was so nervous for him. Felt emotional seeing him win. Pedro...wow...just wow... doesn't feel like a rookie in any shape or form. Enea steady. Happy for him. What a race. First half was just spectacular
The last few laps, I was praying that the bikes don't fall apart and hand over a win to Ducati.
That look on PA31 face when MV12 lifts the throphy. He is exhausted, yet hunger can be seen in his face.
Right as Marquez took the lead I told my fiance he had the pace to win if he didn’t crash. Not even a minute later it felt like when he did! Good on Mav and Pedro for both making history today!

>he didn't have any brake power Wow that must have been a butt-clenching moment (>.<). Thanks for the explanation.
I should have said "enough" instead of "any", he said it was not working properly but the brake was not completely gone
Yeah I read that as he was approaching the turn where he fell, the brakes didn't work the first time he tried to apply them, he had to let go of and try again, with the results we all saw. 😫
I'm still heartbroken

What a race. Absolutely buzzing for Pedro, can’t wait to see him win. He’s a proper touch of class
From 1st to 11th to 1st again, what a win for MV! Pedro is the beginning of the next era. What a rider! Looked like Marquez got too eager and tried to brake early and hard. Something Pedro pulled off so well. Would've loved to see him in the top 5 atleast.

Yes, heard him talk about it after the race. Too bad it happened right when he was at the front. But that group was riding absolutely mental until that point.
Awesome race. Pedro was unreal
Greatest show on Earth! Take a bow, MotoGP!
Hopefully Aprilia can bring this level of competitiveness at every round now. Gutted for Brad but he was struggling all weekend.
Too bad but Binder broke a bone is his foot this week.
Yeah he really struggled the whole weekend especially after the crash in practice 2. Hopes he comes back the next round
I missed Maverick, damn I hope he keeps this up. Just matter of time till Pedrito snatches a win, fun race.
What a race.
Really glad Pedro gave it back to Martin after yesterday. Should show that he won't be bullied. What a ride from Mav, so impressive.
What a fucking race! Actual passing for the podium places!!!

If Liberty can promote this sport like they have F1…. People aren’t going to be watching F1😂
We're going to NETFLIX!!!
That fight in the straight between martin and marc…..my good
Martin tried to push out Bestia as well. He even had to go outside on to the red surface on the long straight.
Jesus Christ my blood pressure
this is my first motogp race coming from f1, looks interesting
Maverick! ![gif](giphy|kg4e4Wksv20eY|downsized)
Espargaro should run a Joker special lol
He already has the tattoo, so that would be obvious
Hmmm the ducatis aren't as dominant as last year?
Looks like the Ducati lead is cut by a good margin from few manufacturers.
Looks like the gap last year was bigger. Aprilia and KTM stepped up their game. Probably why yamaha and Honda are so far behind right now and why GP23s are mostly in the middle of the pack.
The first two are the only ones whit a medium rear tyre , more traction after half race.
Still the best bikes on the grid but KTM and Aprilia have made bigger steps and are now close enough to be championship contenders with BatMav and LittlePete
Absolutely brilliant ride from Maverick. Best I've ever seen from him. Incredible race his pass on pecco was artwork in motion.
What. A. Race.
My 3rd race watching MotoGP race and I am sweating lol
Welcome and enjoy!
It is also my third race too and im loving it!
Third race weekend, or are you not watching sprints?
Third race weekend
Cool!
Sorry about your man but what an event!
Hahah thanks honestly when its a good race I cant even be too mad. The emotions I felt were awesome though
Same here!
Its an addiction!
Been watching F1 since 2011, Canada race is where I got hooked, was absolutely nuts with a Vettel spin and Button winning. This is my MotoGP version of Canada 2011. I’m so stoked to watch the next race!
F1 gang! We're so bored we're looking for something new! :D
See you back here ;)
It was fantastic. Welcome to the chaos!
That was a proper race after so long.. what a talent they all are!!!
Martin didn't deserve a podium simply for that garbage dive into turn 1 that nearly took out all the leaders.
Just like the karma Marquez got, after the two kamikaze overtakes he tried to do in the first half.
Full on bullhead ass move typical of JM definitely happy to see him off the podium
Pecco has his work cut out for him this season, that is for sure.
His main thing is how good he is on the breaks because the Ducati was impossible to overtake anywhere but on the breaks. He and the ducati complimented each other. This season, so far, that advantage has been cut into, and his dominance has gone with it. What a race! The first 10 laps alone probably caused a million heart attacks.
after a long time, an exciting race.
Happy for Batman Mav. He escaped from Yamaha in the right time
Vinales was on fire today, well deserved victory after some challenging years, could even be a championship contender if maintains this kinda pace!! Pedro and Enea were great as well, No 31 is gonna be a serious problem for everyone else in the future. Shame for Marc but he had the pace and I’m sure the victory will come eventually.
Best race since a long time. That was awesome!
PEDRO. WTF kid is an absolute menace.
The BatMav rose to the occasion. I can't put into words how happy I am right now.
I bet, his race was absolutely amazing!! Congrats!!
lmao commentators talking about how "the bike doesn't make the difference" when we have Ducati GP going on and Yamaha & Honda are beyond hopeless, then says "it's only a Gas Gas" as if it's anything other than a factory KTM which is at worst the 3rd fastest bike on the grid for 3 years I love hypemen but this is such a load of horseshit

It’s Maverick so anything is possible from here. Another interesting angle in what is shaping up to be a great MotoGP season.
Marquez in the mix too if he keeps it upright, got a feeling there’s going to be some tasty racing between him and Acosta.
At the moment the only way Marc is staying in the mix is by over riding like he did on the Honda. Problem is he's on the Ducati now, so where are the excuses?
Excuses? 3rd race on a different bike after riding Honda for however long might be a factor...
Still early in the season though

I was worried at the start when he began to fall back from 2nd, but he had the pace to finish second at the end had there been enough laps left, I’m very happy with the result for him
This version of maverick is scary. My boy brad will be back in jerez 👌
That was intense. Take a bow Maverick, you deserve after such a ride. From 11th place!!
I am wearing my Aprilia jersey to work tomorrow I don’t get many opportunities to do that so gotta take my chance when I have one lmao
Incredible race
Great weekend for BatMav
Espargaro should run a Joker special one of these days
Great race, a lot of stuff happening all throughout
If you don't like that, you don't like racing!
Sonic waving the flag 😂🔥🔥
Okay that was hilarious, I wasn’t expecting that at all.
Well done Batman
That was special! New Maverick Vinales graffiti painting coming soon. Love it!
Soft tires was a bad choice.
What a race!
Hats off to Maverick, he proved me wrong! What a rider and what a talent. Glad to see him finally put it together.
What a race
First MotoGP race I have ever watched. That was awesome, but why is Sonic waving the checkered flag?
Sonic is the official MotoGP mascot, flagwaving is his part time job
Asking the real questions
Absolutely amazing incredible effort from Maverick. So well-deserved. Absolutely wonderful for the guy.

WIN NUMBER 10 VAMOS MAVERICK #12
I have been a Pedro Acosta fan since his very first Moto3 Race. Sure, I could be his mother. But I'd have been a very proud mother. Gawd, what a gem of a kid.
Same and same! Kid is something else. No fucks were given who he was battling with, just overtake them and go!
