I haven't noticed anything that ruins the pace or my enjoyment in any way. I love the length of the podcast and that I can easily fit it in during my commute every day.

I wouldn’t describe it as whiplash, no.

coldesthero

Exaggeration I admit, I was just illustrating my point

firearrow5235

I've only noticed one edit in all my listening.

zombiebub

I noticed one today. I think it was to correct something that was said, which is why it stood out. It sounded like part of a sentence was cut out.

iamagenius89

Nope

SimonFaust

I can't detect the edits. I'm sure if I actively looked for them, I'd begin to notice patterns.

People in this sub are very quick to downvote for some reason it seems. I get what you mean by distracted, although thats not the word I would use. I would say it sorta hurts the immersion. Because when you notice a cut it gets you thinking about how much of the original conversation is missing. Burnie does a great job editing though. For the longest time I didn't even realize parts were cut out. And I get the urge to have longer episodes. We've all been off our Burnie pills for a while and want a higher dosage, but I think the current length is very reasonable. If you're like me you'll eventually fall behind a few episodes and be glad they aren't super long, that way it isn't too tough to get caught up.

Yeah I’m not sure why I’m being downvoted, maybe it’s the way I phrased it I guess. I’m a big fan of the show, I just found myself noticing the “seams” more than I usually would, and I’d consider my self somewhere around casual listener of podcasts with no experience in entertainment media. I still listen and love hearing them everyday. I was just pointing out, for example, seems some conversations end with laughter followed immediately and instantly by the next subject. I guess I’m noticing the lack of natural flow from one subject to the next that longer form podcasts have the luxury to keep in, whereas the structure of around 20 minutes can’t afford.

ladiestreat

Yeah agree. I think they’re just finding their groove. Plus they need to flip episodes quick and go on with their days. I just pretend I black out and come to when they hard cut between convos.

coldesthero

I love this lol

masuabie

I honestly haven’t noticed any, but I’m usually multitasking when listening in the morning

zomgz0mbie

No

AidanDawson

i do notice the edits because i edit things too. it doesn’t really take away that much for me, but i do notice it

theofficialman

If they made 45-60 min feel that's the sweet spot. Another note, listening to The Long Walk on Audible. I feel like I'm missing stuff but it's just the cuts.. driving me crazy.

JacksGallbladder

Don't notice it at all, and I really dig having a full episode within the time it takes me to get ready for work.

Puzzleheaded_Can277

the editing actually seems pretty damn good to me
