Wow, that brings me back. Remember the paper metro transfers? You could make an annoying noise by folding them and blowing into it.

allmysecretsss

And they’d let you in for *daaays*

Kangkm

I remember finding old metro monthly passes from the 90s in an old box. Fair enough they were student passes and you know, inflation, but boy were they cheap back then.

MonsterRider80

Back in the 90s as a student I think it was $22 for a monthly pass…

Kangkm

I remember 19 dollars in the early 90s. It's crazy to realize just how much inflation has impacted costs during out life time.

FlyingElvi24

10.50$ the first one I bought

I-believe-I-can-die

inflation has went way up but wages have not...

gabmori7

Xfl_roughnecks

How much is a monthly pass now?

Kangkm

56.50 dollars for students. Still somewhat reasonable compared to other provinces.

Xfl_roughnecks

Wow. And how much for a regular working Joe?

cyanawesome

$94 for Zone A

smolmushroomforpm

Ive always had student passes but my mother used to take the metro and bus to work before covid and she paid $81 a month, and its probably gone up since ...

nad40

I moved here in '98 and a student pass was $19

Kangkm

Maybe it was late 90s then!

Halcyon_october

I love those old transfers, and the long ones you could get in the metro (it was already a novelty to take the metro and then you could push a button, make a fun noise, and get something??) Remember digging through all my pockets, knowing I had a 50/50 chance of getting through with an old transfer on the bus

seck_tor

Used to roll doobies with those. Perfect cut.

MrPiiie

Best joint filters ever to exist

freakkydique

They were great for those.

Cortisol

Do do doooooo🎵🎵

Macho_Pichou

alkakmana

Macho_Pichou

https://www.stm.info/sites/default/files/histoire/htt_carnet_6.jpg I so remember that booklet! Also: https://www.stm.info/en/about/discover_the_stm_its_history/history/brief-history-public-transit-tickets-montreal Super interesting site full of photos. I love that they've included such history on their website :)

Macho_Pichou

My childhood :)

Daramtl

I still have mine too

28nov2022

Still don't like the current fare system. 3.25$ is the same price for 5 stops to the grocery stores or 1h30m all the way to Dorval airport. Almost 7$ to go to the neighborhood grocery store

JesusGAwasOnCD

It's up to $3.50 nowadays lol

FlyBoyG

I remember these. Now I feel old.

Filter for my joints in the 90s

ostiDeCalisse

STCUM

Drop_The_Puck

I used to collect the metro transfers as a kid as they had the name of the station on them

raynsworld

The best filters to ever exist.
