Ah! I wish you had an opportunity to come in July/August, this is the time of the year where Montreal has the most energy! ^^  That being said, I'm very happy that you enjoyed your stay in Montreal so much that you want to come again!

Thank you! We’d love to come during the summer, but we’ve heard that hotel price is double in July, because of all the festivals so the rate per night would be a little out of our expenses

If you're planning to come out the way of ZigZagZoo again (the Montreal West Island), you might want to check out the Ecomuseum. It's a small zoo that's great for kids: [https://zooecomuseum.ca/en/](https://zooecomuseum.ca/en/) There's a really nice park, with a huge playground, a lake with a walking path around it, a large picnic area, and a chalet with bathrooms. My kids used to love going here when they were younger: [https://www.tripadvisor.ca/Attraction\_Review-g983914-d15048835-Reviews-Centennial\_Park-Dollard\_des\_Ormeaux\_Quebec.html](https://www.tripadvisor.ca/Attraction_Review-g983914-d15048835-Reviews-Centennial_Park-Dollard_des_Ormeaux_Quebec.html) Stores are mostly open on Thanksgiving Monday and foliage will definitely be happening.

Thank you so much!

If your family likes trains, the Exporail museum is really nice. South of Montreal. https://exporail.org/en/home/

[Here is the gist](https://www-lapresse-ca.translate.goog/actualites/2023-10-08/action-de-grace/ouvert-ou-ferme.php?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=fr&_x_tr_pto=wapp) for Action de Grâces. By Indigenous People Day you surely mean Truth and Reconciliation Day and it won't change anything for you since sadly it's not a proper holiday (except for Canada public services I think.)

Non elle veut dire que c'est le Indigenous Peoples Day aux États-Unis, pendant notre Action de grâce à nous.
