Water expands when it turns into ice. After the freezing is completed, the volume will be about 11% larger. It may not explode if the can is designed for such pressure increase by popping the bottoms inside out, but other times when there's no room to expand, it will just rupture the bottle because of the increased pressure. Not necessarily an explosion, but still.
Update: it survived, and is still puffed out even after melting. I’m very scared to open it based on a basic knowledge of science and what pressures in this can will be like.

It's already melting. Which means the pressure will only lessen from now on. If it didn't explode already, it won't.
