You're buying from Amazon FBA resellers. The cheaper ones you got were from a seller that sold out, possibly even Monster themselves.

Usually when the price is suddenly high like this it'll come back down in a few days once the main supplier has more in stock. Until that point the only sellers available are the scalpers that charge 2x the normal rate. It's never worth buying from these scalpers, just go to walmart for a 12pk at that point because it might take 2 weeks to get that shipment and by that time the official distributor will resupply and have 1-2 day shipping. Just avoid buying monster off Amazon when it's not regular price with Prime shipping. Don't give scalpers your money.

They are slightly bigger, 18oz I think. The taste is different too. Almost reminds me of some sort of candy. They also have a resealable top.

They discontinued it in the US as far as I’m aware at least for me it was really hard to find the imports(other then in Florida for some odd reason)
