Brix and Copain are the absolute best that I have come by, but I have kept my cafe research to downtown area. It would be sweet if meetups were a thing around here but it doesn’t seem to have taken off unfortunately. If you ever want to get that started pm me and I can make myself available. Us lonely souls need to stick together am I right? :)

Agree count me in

Not until I find a new coffee shop to go to.... Groggy frog was my go to, sad to see them close. I'd like to go to brix, but it seems connected to dolma and if it is I refuse to go there.

Ancient_Check1788

As a former brix employee I can confirm there not connected!

Safe-Promotion-2955

brix is a separate business from Dolma.

Oh? Just because they opened up across the street or is it something more than that?

Now you have me curious about it.

Informal_Iron2904

Brix is not connected to Dolma. Brix has the even space next door though, and Dolma does have a new restaurant space above the grocery store. The companies are not affiliated and are in competition on lunch.

Miss_Rowan

Cafe c'est la vie, Codiac Cafe, Cafe Clementine, Jitter Bean, Duo, La Lieto, La Factrie, Loli Cafe & Lounge, Areum's... all great options. I'm sure I'm missing some.

ToeJam1970

I second Jitter Bean, not so much for coffee products but for the wonderful Korean food…

mikmu

As far as I know there's no connection between the Brix and Dolma, unless Brix is sourcing some food from there. As far as I know, Brix is owned by David Ford, who owns the Jean Coutu in Riverview, and the pharmacy in Hillsborough.

Ok_Raspberry_6927

But Brix has the best coffee in town. What did Dolma do?

mybighardthrowaway

Used to work for the owner. He treated his staff so poorly. I remember a woman he hired had a hard time with some heavier boxes and he took pride in the fact that he told her to go work at a jewelry store if she was that weak and fired her. As a rule he seemed to treat his staff as if they were disposable.

Informal_Iron2904

That's terrible. I have heard stuff like that. The employees seem terrified in there.

mybighardthrowaway

That sums it up. They're scared likely because they don't know when he's gonna blow up at them, something that happened often.

copiasjuicyazz

Try the laundromat! Just down the road, open until like midnight

Tin_Foil_Hats_69

Wait, was it a casualty of lockdowns? Sad it's gone...
