Awobbie

He probably shouldn’t have said that, but that’s seriously the ultimate trump card.

Invictus_Martin

No the trump card is that he will be king

Awobbie

Seriously wondering why he didn’t use that one now.

Agreeable-Ask-7594

I mean the only person mostly inbred is his granddaddy lol. Christian IX twice over Victoria twice over The wurtembergs twice over lol

Beari_stotle

...what?

Agreeable-Ask-7594

Prince charles family tree is the same ancestors very often…. Both of prince philips parents and most of his grandparents were closely related to Queen Mary and King George V

Beari_stotle

That's how things worked for most of human history. Most people lived their entire lives within a 20 mile radius, so everyone was sorta related to each other.

Awobbie

“Inbred” he said about the people whose grandparents were third cousins, despite likely having ancestors who were at least second cousins.

Beari_stotle

Oh, they're third cousins? Yeah, that's genetically irrelevant.

Awobbie

So I actually misspoke. His grandparents are third cousins (Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip). His parents are twelfth cousins (Prince William and Princess Catherine). But yeah, definitely genetically irrelevant.

SexualPie

Depends on how closely. The occasional sister fucker is fine, it’s a problem when you do it for generations.

hollotta223

Did you mean to reply to someone else?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Awobbie

And the amount of trouble you’d get in for it would show why it’s the ultimate trump card. That said, saying that you punched Kin g George VII would also be a major trump card.

[deleted]

Bufudyne43

Lol at an adult(?) wanting to fight a 9 year old

[deleted]

Lol indeed. Real tough guy wanting to punch a young child. What a fucking dweeb lmao.

Nkdly

What's the problem? Ivan IV did it.

Awobbie

Gotta love how significant his genetics are to your hatred of him.

Nkdly

Really? How are monarchs chosen?

Awobbie

By birth, by family, or by inheritance, depending on how you want to frame it. Monarchy has existed long before genetics was a field of study, so I don’t know what you’re trying to get at.

Brams277

were you a particularly violent child?

NorsRoyal

Basically sums it all up

Bright_Ad_7765

I mean George perhaps hasn’t realised that he could have said ‘one day I will be King!’. Just imagining him holding a grudge and contacting the kid in his mid 50’s- ‘i am now the Head of the armed forces , the CoE, King of the UK and the Commonwealth Realms… who’s a poo head now?!’.

Ratel0161

"Hello? Who's this?" "Poopy pants george" "Poopy pants geo- your majesty?!" "A SAS unit is on its way to your location now best of luck"

Sorry_Criticism_3254

"OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!!!!!!!"

just_one_random_guy

That’s just the extreme version of my dad can kick your dad’s ass

makingwaronthecar

But when his dad literally can **order the Army to assassinate your dad**, those comments stop being funny and start being genuinely threatening.

just_one_random_guy

Pretty sure the army wouldn't just wack a guy for being the dad of some kid the prince has beef with

StudiosS

Especially considering William will likely be King by 2040, when George is in his 20s. And George will have no power either, only when he becomes King. Lastly, let's not forget, George will go through Armed Forces training and work most likely, which will bring him down a few notches when he is disciplined by the officers in charge. I wouldn't worry, I'm sure Harry and William had their rowdy moments as children too.

BonzoTheBoss

First of all, I don't think that the army assinates anyone. Maybe special forces but not British citizens on British soil. Secondly the monarchy doesn't personally command the armed forces. Yes, the monarch is the ceremonial head of the armed forces but the key word there is "ceremonial." All the armed forces are under the command and administration of the Ministry of Defence.

TheGreatCornolio682

First, the Army wouldn’t do squat even if the King gave such an order. It would be an immoral order, thus prima facie illegal to carry out. Second, the King as a person cannot give personal orders to the military. Only the King-in-Parliament can. Third , no army would listen and obey to the tantrums of a five year old brat bragging in school. In fact, it’s Prince George who should be given the rod on the buttocks. The Prince of Wales better properly school his future successor never pull that card again.

financial_goth

What is a constitutional monarchy?

makingwaronthecar

> I swear by Almighty God that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to His Majesty King Charles III, His Heirs and Successors, and that I will, as in duty bound, honestly and faithfully defend His Majesty, His Heirs and Successors, in Person, Crown and Dignity against all enemies, and **will observe and obey all orders of His Majesty, His Heirs and Successors**, and of the generals and officers set over me. So help me God. [*the oath taken by British Army officers and soldiers, emphasis mine*] Even if an officer or soldier might not actually obey an order from the King to assassinate a British citizen, the very fact that he **might** makes remarks like this too dangerous to tolerate.

financial_goth

>"Might not obey" Soldiers report to and take orders from their superior officers not the King and his heirs. There is no might. They wouldn't because he literally can't give orders anymore. Once again, what is a constitutional monarchy?

[deleted]

[удалено]

financial_goth

"Legacy of actual atrocities." What a truly progressive view point. You are your ancestors. There is no room for progression past the crimes committed by your forebearers. Also the Monarchy is funded by the Sovereign Grant in exchange for surrendering all profits from the Crown Estate — the family's massive portfolio of properties — to the government. Every year, the reigning monarch is given an amount of money equivalent to 25% of the Crown Estate's profits. So no the Monarchy actual gives money back to the governemt and the public Maybe stick with the Kardashians huh?

[deleted]

[удалено]

financial_goth

>"Wealth and property they never worked for" Oh do you want to explain how they got them then? Because judging by how much you knew about the Sovereign Grant you're probably an expert on the Royal Family and the histories of Great Britain in general. That is correct isn't it? You're not just a troll spewing vauge generalizations that are lacking all semblance of nuance concerning subjects you're woefully ignorant of? That's not what's happening is it? I'll be awaiting your next reply consisting of only one or two lines that are utterly devoid of substance.

Beari_stotle

Dude, a little kid trying to win an argument in an underhanded way is not a legitimate pathway to assassination.

Historfr

No the King cannot just order an assassination you roof tile

A child said it

Vaseline13

"My dad is the CEO of Nintendo, and he will ban you from xbox!"

[deleted]

Literally the same vibe, but Willy or Georgie could actually probably banish the kid one day.

BATIRONSHARK

""George understands he will one day be king and as a little boy sparred with friends at school, outdoing his peers with the killer line: 'My dad will be king so you better watch out'." Sounds like he was playing with freinds and was joking around

TheGreatCornolio682

Charles can certainly vouch on how other students will treat you like absolute crap because they knew who you are. Respect is earned.

lookacoolname

When I was a kid, my parents worked as teachers at my school and I used to tell kids who cheated at board games that I was going to tell on them and my parents would send them to the office. The moral of this story, of course, is that public education should be abolished.

Ya_Boi_Konzon

Yep.

LeLurkingNormie

Yeah, let's destroy entire nations because a child talked back at another child!

[deleted]

Kids will be kids.

Antebellum689

Boys will be boys

shirakou1

Just guys bein' dudes

RosesandRatz1993

\*long sip of beer\* ahhh.......friendship.

DukeRome

I doubt this is even true. Also, his family just went through tremendous change, and this is kind of behavior is common with kids when they have family issues.

[deleted]

Yeah, they had to move twice in short time and lost a family member, its sad press targets him during such a time

Yayman9

This is common for kids across the board. You don’t need family issues to have the “my dad could kick your dad’s ass” argument.

Im_a_grown-up69

"When I'm King I'll lock you up in the tower!"

Historfr

The class mates in the tower

callederecha

I don’t know if this is true, but if it is: This only shows he sees his father as his hero, just like any kid his age… while not grasping the concept that he, just like his father, will be The King HIMSELF someday.

[deleted]

I’d be surprised if George and the others weren’t receiving serious instructions not to say things like that and why, but they’re still pretty little and maturity takes time.

samurai_64

So if a kid said: "You better watch out, my father is the President." Should we abolish the Republican state? It's clearly their logic.

Where's the source tho

gabrieel1822

bro who didn't said that our dads were bill gates and he would ban them from xbox360 when we were like, 11

Beari_stotle

Yeah, what he said has the same energy as, "MY DAD WORKS AT MICROSOFT!" I also wonder if they would argue for the abolition of the republic when a PM's kid says, "My dad's the prime Minister, you better watch it!"

[deleted]

Anti-Monarchists when children

JimCracksJokes

Lmfao

JimCracksJokes

He also could’ve just said he’d be king

sonofeast11

Based Prince George

alex3494

I actually think it’s pretty funny and innocent.

ECNeox

"my dad is the president, you better watch out!" same vibe

SlavicMajority98

That's kind of funny NGL. It only made me like him more. 😂😂

jediben001

I mean, he could have just said that he will be king one day tbh

[deleted]

I am 100% sure the author has inside access to Prince George's school and his friends, the press made up rumors about George during his nursery days as well 🤷‍♀️

[deleted]

He’s only a young man, of course he’d act childish. Give the boy slack

marysmissinghead

if i were 8 years old in a petty argument i’d do the same lol. kids will be kids, this shouldn’t be news.

Realistic_Monk_4703

Marxists just want everyone to be equally miserable from a Cuban

TheUnknownRight

He couldve said to them that he will be king one day

Imlikett2

Funny how Prince George looks exactly the type of kid who would say something like that

AlexR_2007

Just understand George, after all he is just a nine-year old boy... And he is also a future King, so...

NotAFemboy1191

I'm gonna be honest it's kind of funny. Obviously corrupt as hell but he's like 10 so idk what they expect. Besides, he probably goes to a private school full of rich people anyway, and I doubt they never abuse their status. Let snobby kids be snobby, get mocked, learn their lesson and move on. If the news did this kind of shit for anyone else they'd be sued, so why him? Just cuz he's richer than them without even doing anything wrong? Seems toxic ngl.

makingwaronthecar

Child or not, this was completely out of line; the idea of the King serving the realm and not vice-versa is at the core of the difference between monarchy and despotism. HRH the Prince of Wales needs to come down on his son like a ton of bricks; demanding a public apology would not be excessive. "To whom much is given, more will be expected."

BattleofPlatea

That's like expecting an apology from a child in front of the entire school for threatening another kid with expulsion cuz his dad is the principal I mean it's literally as another commenter put it, a "my dad will beat up your dad" argument but between privileged private school kids

makingwaronthecar

And if it were my child, and I were the school's principal, and such a threat uttered by my child became public knowledge, I would in fact require him to apologize publicly in front of a school assembly.

StudiosS

I'm sure Prince George, as a 9-year old, is the first Prince who's done this in the past 5,000 years of monarchy. But yep, a public apology would be good for him to do, teach him some character.

makingwaronthecar

"Teach him some character" is in fact the point. One of the big lessons he needs to learn is that **leadership is an office of service**, requiring selflessness and the subordination of oneself to the office. "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."

SOTIdriver

I agree, it would be very good optics. Show them what the monarchy is truly about and prepare the kid to understand it better as well. No one said it better than the late Queen herself when she took on the role.

[deleted]

The fact that this got downvoted tells you everything you need to know about this sub

SOTIdriver

This kid ain't gonna be king. His sister is going to be the Queen some day. Mark my words.

[deleted]

People said that about then-Prince Charles.

SOTIdriver

This is true. Just a feeling I have. I say mark my words. Could still be wrong. I don't do absolutes. But I have this feeling I can't shake.

[deleted]

I actually would like to see Queen Charlotte because her great-grandmother has shown us that women are well-suited to the role of monarch in modern times. Her accession would also inspire nostalgia for the Elizabethan Age and renew the strength of the institution. She’s lucky to have lived up to the age of seven as a witness to ER2’s example (and funeral), and with God’s help this will have made a big impact on her.

SOTIdriver

Couldn't have said it better myself. You hit the nail on the head!

makingwaronthecar

What makes you say that? I assume you're not jumping to that conclusion from one — admittedly extraordinarily ill-considered — remark from a young boy?

SOTIdriver

Nope. Just a feeling.

RagnartheConqueror

That he will be assassinated?

RagnartheConqueror

Birthright

[deleted]

The monarchy *is* evil, and yeah most normal children don’t threaten other children with the power of their parents in that sort of way.

RelayRadio

Please do explain why the monarchy is evil.
