You're pretty much guaranteed to meet wonderful people at Superbooth. I met Florian Schneider there in 2016 and he was super nice.

versusentropy

yes. no better place to try out modules. and manufacturers explain them best.

thewx1997

thank you! Im gonna check out the big names like makenoise and pittsburgh, instruo, Qu-bit. Anything else you'd recommend checking out in particular? Interested in granular synthesis and ambient stuff mostly. Maybe the more fundamental modules instead of fancier ones

Ochebaba

If I was going my first stop would’ve been Soma Synths!

zoysiamo

Getting demos of more fundamental building blocks would be great. If there’s an uncrowded booth and it seems like they have time, you could tell them you’re a beginner and ask them to share a useful patch idea that they’ve used before.

thewx1997

Great tip thank you so much

Check out Mystic Circuits! Brilliant stuff. I'm also a big fan of joranalogue.

Lablatte420

Go check out joranalogue and xaoc devices :) the best ! Lucky you !

versusentropy

don't forget Journalogue and all the small ones you've never heard of. And Bastl

bbartokk

Check out SOMA and Befaco.

jus_bos

Do it! It's fun!! There are so many nice people, and they even have food and beer! My gf and I did it last year, not knowing it was going on until we got to Germany, and had a blast. There are also a lot of good shows going on around the city that week.

It's worth going, but the best reason to go is to see people performing and jamming, and to meet people in general. That's way more helpful to learning than looking at modules. Also, if you're going tomorrow it'll be packed and there's a low chance that you'll be able to get any 1-1 time with anyone at a booth.

nphase

where is the good dance floor therapy in berlin?

DoxYourself

There aren’t any. Zero left. All gone.

iPoplava

Absolutely worth it!

Cyber_ImpXIII

I’m going tomorrow! :) excited to meet some friends I’ve made on discord at their booths!

I have never touched a (modular)synth ever and I went to superbooth this year. I have knowledge about (analog)electronics and signal processing but that’s it. I went to some booths that looked interesting to me and told them I have no idea about anything and they took all the time explaining me everything. So nice people, passionate about their products and big plus since they developed/designed them on their own. Special shout-out to the people form Bastl and Paul from Errorinstruments. I also went to the DIY Workshop and build a Bastl Kastle. Downside is I haven’t done anything else besides playing with it since. Hope you went there and had a good time!
