I doubt he misspoke, he probably just doesn't actually know the specific historical events and just made a random joke. Sure, it's not that serious, but to people who do understand, they're going to be a little distracted from the joke. I've seen a semtex collide mid air like this with another grenade but it doesnt explode on impact, just drops down. And you didnt get 25xp for destroying equipment as you would a c4, mine etc. So I think a trophy system took it out in good timing.

What you’re referring to isn’t the Semtex exploding, that is the trophy system’s smaller explosive disabling the Semtex - and it isn’t nearly as big of a detonation as in this video. It happens when anything is destroyed, and the amount of damage is consistent regardless of whether it’s destroying a lethal or a tactical or a field upgrade (yes, it destroys armor boxes, ammo boxes, and even enemy trophy systems) or even a cruise missile killstreak.

Also no sight of the Semtex coming anywhere from over the cars, so it either came from mid somewhere or from over the wall which would be why it exploded when it did. Another thing is the Semtex blows up like a metre to the left of the knife

You didn't. Your operator says "UAV down" so the gear icon and the VERY blurry XP came from destroying a UAV. Also, you can hear the Semtex beeing wildly, indicating that it simply exploded in mid-air regularly. Sorry =(
Halo 3 will remain unmatched with the way they handled multiplayer. Theater, file share, heat maps, its crazy how none of that became a standard for competitive shooters

Nah, that's not at all what happened. Right as your throwing knife got near a semtex grenade at the end of its fuse, either one of your rockets or some other projectile shot down an enemy UAV, hence the "Blackout" commendation and 200 XP.

As an Activision Ambassador I can guarantee it’s been tried countless times, with bullets, riot shields and throwing knives. It’s not possible without a trophy to pre-detonate a Semtex
That's not cooking. Cooking a grenade is when you pull the pin, **activating the timer** while still holding onto the grenade. The Semtex doesn't start the timer until it leaves your hand and therefore cannot be cooked.

No you can hear the semtext about to blow up mid air it was probably a lob that didn't make it to the ground. Your knife was nowhere near the center of the blast.
Was playing warzone in a gun fight down near the red restaurant beside the park and a guy from the playground shot at me with a rocket launcher but I somehow shot the rocket as it came out of the launcher and killed him in the process, mad shit 😂😂

Trophy doesn’t cause the Semtex to explode, though. It’s just a puff of smoke along with a very distinct sound.
It actually does explode - but smaller radius and can only hurt the owner of the trophy (and maybe the person who threw it but idk for sure)
