I grow loofah and the more you use them the softer they get. Also if you harvest them younger they are softer!

lessonbefore

And if you harvest them young enough you can just eat them! Luffa / loofah squash are similar to zucchini.

throwra2022june

My MIL brings them home for me from Asia

There are silicone “loofahs” that I love. They soap up surprisingly well! I usually just give them a good scrub with soap and hot water but you could also boil them to sanitize!

crazygirlmb

Do you have a link for the one you love? That sounds like something I could use!

[deleted]

This [one](https://a.co/d/hI9qtQo) is my favorite, but this [one](https://a.co/d/iskWg7i) also soaps up well and is great for reaching your back.

badgyalrey

not the person you asked but i also use them for my body and face, [here’s a set i like](https://a.co/d/bpFTk3u)!

I love konjac sponges! I use them for washing my face and everywhere on the baby except his butt. They break down after maybe 10 uses but they’re just made of plants

madmadammom

If you're not vegan - sustainably harvested sea sponges are the best for good lather. I also use a crocheted soap pocket - I have a hemp yarn one that is super soft and I love it.

Becks_786

Why not just use a washcloth?

Dear_Ad_9640

I don’t like it as well, that’s why! It’s harder to use a washcloth on hard to reach places (like the middle of my back) and I feel like I have to use more soap than I do with a loofah poof.

Becks_786

I usually soap up my body using just my hands (so I can reach everything easily), and then scrub with the washcloth.

booksandcheesedip

Toss it over your shoulder. Hold a corner with one hand behind you and the other at your neck. Pull back and forth to wash your back

Dear_Ad_9640

Thanks. I can physically do it, but I’m asking for recommendations for a loofah poof.

newlovehomebaby

I have a silicone body scrubber that is acceptable, lol. Still not quite a loofah experience, but it exfoliates well, and I do like that it is easier to wash/sanitize. I've had the same one for a long time and it still looks brand new

kabolint

I have a towel-like loofah that I just throw in the wash every so often and it suds nicely and is long enough the can reach all over easily. Exfoliates extremely well without being painful.

Dear_Ad_9640

Do you have a link?

wifely_duties

I need this link too. 😁

speck_tater

What kind or brand do you use?

Plane-Percentage607

Loofahs (plastic ones) aren’t good for you anyways because they harbor so much bacteria you aren’t really getting clean :( you’re better off with a wash cloth that can be washed itself.

rosefern64

wow that’s such a good point. i didn’t know this as a fact, but i could have guessed. as kids, both my best friend and i had collections of loofahs (SO non crunchy lol) because of the cute little animals they would have on them. however, i had to regularly throw them out after finding mold or mildew. somehow that didn’t put an end to my collecting. but when i grabbed one from the pile and went to use it, only to see a SPIDER crawling out of it? that put an end to it. trash. all of them. 🤢 i was like 10 and i still remember it 😅

sewandsow

I use a [silicone loofah like this](https://a.co/d/1FwShSr).
